Acts 4
1 As they spake vnto the people the prestes and the rular of the teple and the Saduces came vpon them
Medan de ännu talade till folket, kommo prästerna och tempelvaktens befälhavare och sadducéerna över dem.
2 takynge it grevously that they taught ye pople and preached in Iesus the resurreccion fro deeth.
Ty det förtröt dem att de undervisade folket och i Jesus förkunnade uppståndelsen från de döda.
3 And they layde hondes on them and put them in holde vntill the nexte daye: for it was now even tyde.
Därför grepo de dem nu och satte dem i fängsligt förvar till följande dag, eftersom det redan var afton.
4 How be it many of them which hearde the wordes beleved and the noumbre of the men was aboute fyve thousande.
Men många av dem som hade hört vad som hade talats kommo till tro; och antalet av männen uppgick nu till vid pass fem tusen.
5 And it chaunsed on the morowe that their rulars and elders and Scribes
Dagen därefter församlade sig deras rådsherrar och äldste och skriftlärde i Jerusalem;
6 as Annas the chefe Prest and Cayphas and Iohn and Alexander and as many as were of ye kynred of the hye prestes gadered to geder at Ierusalem
där voro då ock Hannas, översteprästen, och Kaifas och Johannes och Alexander och alla som voro av översteprästerlig släkt.
7 and set the other before them and axed: by what power or what name have ye done this syrs?
Och de läto föra fram dem inför sig och frågade dem: »Av vilken makt eller i genom vilket namn haven I gjort detta?»
8 Then Peter full of ye holy goost sayd vnto them: ye rulars of the people and elders of Israel
Då sade Petrus till dem, uppfylld av helig ande: »I folkets rådsherrar och äldste,
9 yf we this daye are examined of the good dede done to the sycke man by what meanes he is made whoale:
eftersom vi i dag underkastas rannsakning för en god gärning mot en sjuk man och tillfrågas varigenom denne har blivit botad,
10 be yt knowen vnto you all and to the people of Israel that in the name of Iesus Christ of Nazareth whom ye crucified and whom God raysed agayne from deeth: even by him doth this man stonde here present before you whoale.
så mån I veta, I alla och hela Israels folk, att det är genom Jesu Kristi, nasaréens, namn, hans som I haven korsfäst, men som Gud har uppväckt från de döda -- att det är genom det namnet som denne man står inför eder frisk och färdig.
11 This is ye stone cast a syde of you bylders which is set in the chefe place of the corner.
Han är 'den stenen som av byggningsmännen' -- av eder själva -- 'aktades för intet, men som har blivit en hörnsten'.
12 Nether is ther salvacio in eny other. Nor yet also is ther eny other name geven to men wherin we must be saved.
Och i ingen annan finnes frälsning; ej heller finnes under himmelen något annat namn, bland människor givet, genom vilket vi kunna bliva frälsta.»
13 When they sawe the boldnes of Peter and Iohn and vnderstode that they were vnlerned men and laye people they marveyled and they knew them that they were with Iesu:
När de sågo Petrus och Johannes vara så frimodiga och förnummo att de voro olärda män ur folket, förundrade de sig. Men så kände de igen dem och påminde sig att de hade varit med Jesus.
14 and beholdinge also the ma which was healed stondinge with the they coulde not saye agaynst it.
Och när de sågo mannen som hade blivit botad stå där bredvid dem, kunde de icke säga något däremot.
15 But they comaunded them to go a syde out of the counsell and counceled amoge them selves
De befallde dem alltså att gå ut från rådsförsamlingen. Sedan överlade de med varandra
16 sayinge: what shall we do to these men? For a manifest signe is done by the and is openly knowen to all them that dwell in Ierusalem and we canot denye it.
och sade: »Vad skola vi göra med dessa män? Att ett märkligt tecken har blivit gjort av dem, det är ju uppenbart för alla Jerusalems invånare, och vi kunna icke förneka det.
17 But that it be noysed no farther amoge the people let us threaten and charge them that they speake hence forth to no man in this name.
Men för att detta icke ännu mer skall komma ut bland folket, må vi strängeligen förbjuda dem att hädanefter i det namnet tala för någon människa.»
18 And they called them and comaunded them that in no wyse they shuld speake or teache in the name of Iesu.
Därefter kallade de in dem och förbjödo dem helt och hållet att tala eller undervisa i Jesu namn.
19 But Peter and Iohn answered vnto them and sayde: whether it be right in the syght of God to obeye you moare then God iudge ye.
Men Petrus och Johannes svarade och sade till dem: »Om det är rätt inför Gud att vi hörsamma eder mer är Gud, därom mån I själva döma;
20 For we canot but speake that which we have sene and hearde.
vi för vår del kunna icke underlåta att tala vad vi hava sett och hört.»
21 So threatened they them and let them goo and founde no thinge how to punysshe them because of the people. For all me lauded God for the myracle which was done:
Då förbjödo de dem detsamma ännu strängare, men läto dem sedan gå. Ty eftersom alla prisade Gud för det som hade skett, kunde de, för folkets skull, icke finna någon utväg genom att straffa dem.
22 for the man was above fourty yeare olde on whom this myracle of healinge was shewed.
Mannen som genom detta tecken hade blivit botad var nämligen över fyrtio år gammal.
23 Assone as they were let goo they came to their felowes and shewed all that the hye prestes and elders had sayde to them.
När de alltså hade blivit lösgivna, kommo de till sina egna och omtalade för dem allt vad översteprästerna och de äldste hade sagt dem.
24 And when they hearde that they lyfte vp their voyces to God with one accorde and sayde: Lorde thou arte God which hast made heaven and erth the see and all that in them is
Då de hörde detta, ropade de endräktigt till Gud och sade: »Herre, det är du som har gjort himmelen och jorden och havet och allt vad i dem är.
25 which by the mouth of thy servaunt David hast sayd: Why dyd the hethen rage and the people immagen vayne thinges.
Och du har genom vår fader Davids, din tjänares, mun sagt genom helig ande: 'Varför larmade hedningarna och tänkte folken fåfänglighet?
26 The kynges of the erth stode vp and the rulars came to gedder agaynst the Lorde and agaynst his Christ.
Jordens konungar trädde fram, och furstarna samlade sig tillhopa mot Herren och hans Smorde.'
27 For of a trueth agaynst thy holy chylde Iesus whom thou hast annoynted bothe Herode and also Poncius Pylate with the Gentils and the people of Israel gaddered them selves to gedder
Ja, i sanning, de församlade sig i denna stad mot din helige tjänare Jesus, mot honom som du har smort: Herodes och Pontius Pilatus med hedningarna och Israels folkstammar;
28 for to do whatsoever thy honde and thy counsell determined before to be done.
de församlade sig till att utföra allt vad din hand och ditt rådslut förut hade bestämt skola ske.
29 And now Lorde beholde their threatenynges and graunte vnto thy servauntes with all confidence to speake thy worde.
Och nu, Herre, se till deras hotelser, och giv dina tjänare att de med all frimodighet må förkunna ditt ord,
30 So that thou stretche forth thy honde that healynge and signes and wonders be done by the name of thy holy chylde Iesus.
i det att du uträcker din hand till att bota de sjuka, och till att låta tecken och under ske genom din helige tjänare Jesu namn.»
31 And assone as they had prayed the place moved wheare they were assembled to gedder and they were all filled with the holy goost and they spake the worde of God boldely.
När de hade slutat att bedja, skakades platsen där de voro församlade, och de blevo alla uppfyllda av den helige Ande, och de förkunnade Guds ord med frimodighet.
32 And the multitude of them that beleved were of one hert and of one soule. Also none of them sayde that eny of the thinges which he possessed was his awne: but had all thinges commen.
Och i hela skaran av dem som trodde var ett hjärta och en själ. Ingen enda kallade något av det han ägde för sitt, utan du hade allting gemensamt.
33 And with greate power gave the Apostles witnes of the resurreccion of the Lorde Iesu. And greate grace was with them all.
Och med stor kraft framburo apostlarna vittnesbördet om Herren Jesu uppståndelse; och stor nåd var över dem alla.
34 Nether was ther eny amonge them that lacked. For as many as were possessers of londes or housses solde them and brought the pryce of the thinges that were solde
Bland dem fanns ingen som led nöd; ty alla som ägde något jordstycke eller något hus sålde detta och buro fram betalningen för det sålda
35 and layed yt doune at the Apostles fete. And distribucion was made vnto every man accordinge as he had nede.
och lade den för apostlarnas fötter, och man delade ut därav, så att var och en fick efter som han behövde.
36 And Ioses which was also called of the Apostles Barnabas (that is to saye the sonne of consolacion) beynge a Levite and of the countre of Cipers
Josef, som av apostlarna ock kallades Barnabas (det betyder förmanaren), en levit som var bördig från Cypern,
37 had londe and solde it. and layde the pryce doune at the Apostles fete.
också han sålde en åker som han ägde och bar fram penningarna och lade dem för apostlarnas fötter.
