Acts 17
1 As they made their iorney thorow Amphipolis and Appolonia they came to Thessalonica where was a synagoge of the Iewes.
Atadutsa ku Amfipoli ndi Apoloniya, anafika ku Tesalonika, kumene kunali sunagoge ya Ayuda.
2 And Paul as his maner was went in vnto them and thre saboth doyes declared oute of the scripture vnto them
Paulo, monga mwachizolowezi chake, analowa mʼsunagoge, ndipo anakambirana nawo Mawu a Mulungu kwa masabata atatu,
3 openynge and allegynge that Christ must nedes have suffred and rysen agayne from deeth and that this Iesus was Christ whom (sayde he) I preache to you.
kuwafotokozera ndi kuwatsimikizira kuti Khristu anayenera kufa ndi kuuka. Iye anati, “Yesu amene ndikukulalikirani ndiye Khristu.”
4 And some of them beleved and came and companyed with Paul and Sylas: also of the honourable Grekes a greate multitude and of the chefe wemen not a feawe.
Ena mwa Ayuda anakopeka mtima ndipo anatsatira Paulo ndi Sila, monganso linachitira gulu lalikulu la Agriki woopa Mulungu, pamodzi ndi amayi odziwika ambiri.
5 But the Iewes which beleved not havynge indignacio toke vnto the evyll men which were vagabondes and gadered a company and set all the cite on a roore and made asaute vnto the housse of Iason and sought to bringe the out to the people.
Koma Ayuda ena anachita nsanje; kotero anasonkhanitsa anthu akhalidwe loyipa ochokera pa msika ndipo napanga gulu nayambitsa chipolowe mu mzindawo. Anathamangira ku nyumba ya Yasoni kukafuna Paulo ndi Sila kuti awabweretse pa gulu la anthu.
6 But when they founde them not they drue Iason and certayne brethren vnto the heedes of the cite cryinge: these that trouble the worlde are come hydder also
Koma atalephera kuwapeza, anakokera Yasoniyo ndi abale ena ku bwalo la akulu a mzindawo akufuwula kuti, “Anthu awa, Paulo ndi Sila, amene akhala akusokoneza dziko lonse lapansi, tsopano afikanso kuno.
7 which Iason hath receaved prevely. And these all do contrary to the elders of Cesar affirmynge another kynge one Iesus.
Yasoni ndiye anawalandira mʼnyumba mwake. Onsewa akuchita zotsutsana ndi malamulo a Kaisara pomanena kuti palinso mfumu ina, yotchedwa Yesu.”
8 And they troubled the people and the officers of the cite when they hearde these thinges.
Atamva zimenezi, gulu la anthu ndi akulu a mzinda anavutika mu mtima.
9 And when they were sufficiently answered of Iason and of the other they let the goo.
Iwo analipiritsa Yasoni ndi anzakewo ndipo anawamasula.
10 And the brethren immediatly sent awaye Paul and Sylas by nyght vnto Berrea. Which when they were come thyther they entred into ye synagoge of the Iewes.
Mdima utagwa, abale anatumiza Paulo ndi Sila ku Bereya. Atafika kumeneko anapita ku sunagoge ya Ayuda.
11 These were the noblest of byrthe amonge the of Thessalonia which receaved the worde wt all diligence of mynde and searched ye scriptures dayly whether those thinges were even so.
Tsopano anthu a ku Bereya anali akhalidwe labwino kusiyana ndi Atesalonika, pakuti iwo analandira mawu ndi chidwi chachikulu ndipo ankasanthula Malemba tsiku ndi tsiku kuti aone ngati zimene ankanena Paulozo zinali zoona.
12 And many of the beleved: also of worshipfull weme which were Grekes and of men not a feawe.
Ayuda ambiri anakhulupirira, monga anachitiranso amayi ndi amuna ambiri odziwika a Chigriki.
13 When the Iewes of Thessalonia had knowledge that ye worde of God was preached of Paul at Berrea they came there and moved the people.
Ayuda a ku Tesalonika atadziwa kuti Paulo akulalikira Mawu a Mulungu ku Bereya, anapitanso kumeneko, ndi kuwutsa mitima ya anthu nayambitsa chisokonezo.
14 And then by and by ye brethre sent awaye Paul to goo as it were to ye see: but Sylas and Timotheus abode there still.
Nthawi yomweyo abale anatumiza Paulo ku nyanja koma Sila ndi Timoteyo anatsalira ku Bereya.
15 And they that gyded Paul brought him vnto Attens and receaved a comaundment vnto Sylas and Timotheus for to come to him at once and came their waye.
Anthu amene anamuperekeza Paulo nafika naye ku Atene, ndipo anabwerera ku Bereya atawuzidwa kuti Sila ndi Timoteyo amutsatire msanga.
16 Whyll Paul wayted for them at Attens his sprete was moved in him to se the cite geven to worshippinge of ymages.
Paulo akudikira Timoteyo ndi Sila ku Atene, anavutika mu mtima kwambiri poona kuti mzindawo unali odzaza ndi mafano.
17 Then he disputed in the synagoge wt the Iewes and with the devout persones and in the market dayly with the that came vnto him.
Tsono anakambirana ndi Ayuda ndi Agriki amene amaopa Mulungu mʼsunagoge, komanso anthu amene amapezeka pa msika tsiku ndi tsiku ndi ena amene amakumana nawo.
18 Certayne philosophers of ye Epicures and of ye stoyckes disputed with him. And some ther were which sayde: what will this babler saye. Other sayd: he semeth to be a tydynges bringer of newe devyls because he preached vnto them Iesus and the resurreccion.
Gulu la Aepikureya ndi Astoiki, anthu anzeru, anayamba kutsutsana naye. Ena a iwo anafunsa kuti, “Kodi wolongololayu akufuna kunena chiyani?” Enanso anati, “Akuoneka ngati akulalikira milungu yachilendo.” Iwo ananena zimenezi chifukwa Paulo amalalikira Uthenga Wabwino wa Yesu ndi kuuka kwa akufa.
19 And they toke him and brought him into Marsestrete sayinge: maye we not knowe what this newe doctrine wher of thou speakest is?
Kenaka iwo anamutenga nafika naye ku bwalo la Areopagi kumene anamufunsa kuti, “Kodi tingadziweko chiphunzitso chatsopano chimene ukuchifotokozachi?
20 For thou bringest straunge tydynges to oure eares. We wolde knowe therfore what these thinges meane.
Iwe ukubweretsa zinthu zina zachilendo mʼmakutu mwathu, ndipo ife tikufuna tidziwe tanthauzo lake.”
21 For all the Attenians and straungers which were there gave the selves to nothinge els but ether to tell or to heare newe tydynges.
Atene onse ndi alendo amene amakhala kumeneko samachita kanthu kena koma kufotokoza ndi kumvera fundo zatsopano.
22 Paul stode in the myddes of Marse strete and sayde: ye men of Attens I perceave that in all thinges ye are to supersticious.
Paulo anayimirira mʼbwalo la Areopagi nati: “Inu anthu a ku Atene! Ine ndikuona kuti mʼnjira zonse ndinu opembedza kwambiri.
23 For as I passed by and behelde the maner how ye worship youre goddes I founde an aultre wher in was written: vnto ye vnknowen god. Whom ye then ignoratly worship him shewe I vnto you.
Pakuti pamene ndimayenda ndi kuona zinthu zimene mumazipembedza, ndapezanso guwa lansembe lolembedwapo kuti, kwa mulungu wosadziwika. Tsopano chimene mumachipembedza osachidziwa ndi chimene ndikuchilalikira.
24 God that made the worlde and all that are in it seynge that he is Lorde of heven and erth he dwelleth not in temples made with hondes
“Mulungu amene analenga dziko lapansi ndiponso zonse zili mʼmenemo ndiye Ambuye wakumwamba ndi dziko lapansi ndipo sakhala mʼnyumba zachipembedzo zomangidwa ndi manja.
25 nether is worshipped with mennes hondes as though he neded of eny thinge seinge he him selfe geveth lyfe and breeth to all men every where
Ndipo satumikiridwa ndi manja a anthu ngati kuti Iye amasowa kanthu, chifukwa Iye ndiye amapereka moyo ndi mpweya kwa anthu onse ndi zina zonse.
26 and hath made of one bloud all nacions of men for to dwell on all the face of the erthe and hath assigned before how longe tyme and also the endes of their inhabitacion
Kuchoka kwa munthu mmodzi Iye analenga mtundu uliwonse wa anthu, kuti akakhale pa dziko lonse lapansi; ndipo Iye anakonzeratu nthawi yawo ndiponso malo enieni kumene adzakhale.
27 that they shuld seke God yf they myght fele and fynde him though he be not farre from every one of vs.
Mulungu anachita izi kuti anthu amufunefune, ndikuti pomufunafunapo amupeze ngakhale kuti Iye sali kutali ndi aliyense wa ife.
28 For in him we lyve move and have oure beynge as certayne of youre awne Poetes sayde. For we are also his generacion.
‘Pakuti timakhala mwa Iye, kuyenda mwa Iye ndi kukhala moyo mwa Iye.’ Monga olemba ndakatulo anu ena akuti, ‘Ife ndi zidzukulu zake.’
29 For as moche then as we are the generacion of God we ought not to thynke that the godhed is lyke vnto golde silver or stone graven by crafte and ymaginacion of man.
“Tsono popeza ndife ana a Mulungu, tisaganize kuti umulungu wake ndi wofanana ndi ndalama zagolide, zasiliva, mwala, kapenanso fanizo lopangidwa mwaluso la nzeru za anthu.
30 And the tyme of this ignoraunce God regarded not: but now he byddeth all men every where repent
Nthawi imene anthu sankadziwa, Mulungu anawalekerera koma tsopano akulamulira kuti anthu onse, kulikonse atembenuke mtima.
31 because he hath apoynted a daye in the which he will iudge the worlde acordynge to ryghtewesses by that man whom he hath apoynted and hath offered faith to all men after that he had raysed him from deeth.
Pakuti Iye wayika tsiku limene adzaweruze dziko lapansi mwa chilungamo kudzera mwa Munthu amene anamusankha. Iye watsimikizira anthu onse zimenezi pomuukitsa.”
32 When they hearde of ye resurreccion from deeth some mocked and other sayde: we will heare the agayne of this matter.
Atamva za kuuka kwa akufa, ena a iwo anaseka, koma enanso anati, “Ife tikufuna tidzamvenso zimenezi tsiku lina.”
33 So Paul departed from amonge them.
Ndipo Paulo anatuluka mʼBwalolo.
34 Howbeit certayne men clave vnto Paul and beleved amonge the which was Dionysius a senatour and a woman named Damaris and other with them.
Anthu ena ochepa anamutsatira Paulo ndipo anakhulupirira. Pakati pawo panali Dionisiyo mmodzi wa bwalo la Areopagi ndi mayi wina wotchedwa Damalisi ndi enanso.
