Acts 11

1 And the Apostles and the brethren that were thorowout Iewry harde saye that the hethen had also receaved the worde of God.

Rasul-rasul dan saudara-saudara di Yudea mendengar, bahwa bangsa-bangsa lain juga menerima firman Allah.

2 And when Peter was come vp to Ierusalem they of the circumcision reasoned wyth him

Ketika Petrus tiba di Yerusalem, orang-orang dari golongan yang bersunat berselisih pendapat dengan dia.

3 sayinge: Thou wentest in to men vncircumcised and atest with them.

Kata mereka: "Engkau telah masuk ke rumah orang-orang yang tidak bersunat dan makan bersama-sama dengan mereka."

4 Then Peter began and expounded ye thinge in order to the sayinge:

Tetapi Petrus menjelaskan segala sesuatu berturut-turut, katanya:

5 I was in the cyte of Ioppa prayinge and in a traunce I sawe a vision a certen vessell descende as it had bene a large lynnyn clothe let doune from hevin by the fower corners and it cam to me.

"Aku sedang berdoa di kota Yope, tiba-tiba rohku diliputi kuasa ilahi dan aku melihat suatu penglihatan: suatu benda berbentuk kain lebar yang bergantung pada keempat sudutnya diturunkan dari langit sampai di depanku.

6 Into the which when I had fastened myn eyes I consydered and sawe fowerfoted beastes of ye erth and vermen and wormes and foules of the ayer.

Aku menatapnya dan di dalamnya aku lihat segala jenis binatang berkaki empat dan binatang liar dan binatang menjalar dan burung-burung.

7 And I herde a voyce sayinge vnto me: aryse Peter sley and eate.

Lalu aku mendengar suara berkata kepadaku: Bangunlah, hai Petrus, sembelihlah dan makanlah!

8 And I sayd: God forbyd lorde for nothinge comen or vnclene hath at eny tyme entred into my mouth.

Tetapi aku berkata: Tidak, Tuhan, tidak, sebab belum pernah sesuatu yang haram dan yang tidak tahir masuk ke dalam mulutku.

9 But the voyce answered me agayne from heven cout not thou those thinges come which god hath clensed.

Akan tetapi untuk kedua kalinya suara dari sorga berkata kepadaku: Apa yang dinyatakan halal oleh Allah, tidak boleh engkau nyatakan haram!

10 And this was done thre tymes. And all were takin vp agayne into heven.

Hal itu terjadi sampai tiga kali, lalu semuanya ditarik kembali ke langit.

11 And beholde immediatly ther were thre men come vnto the housse where I was sent from Cesarea vnto me.

Dan seketika itu juga tiga orang berdiri di depan rumah, di mana kami menumpang; mereka diutus kepadaku dari Kaisarea.

12 And the sprete sayde vnto me that I shuld go with them with out doutinge. Morover the sixe brethren accompanyed me: and we entred into the mas housse.

Lalu kata Roh kepadaku: Pergi bersama mereka dengan tidak bimbang! Dan keenam saudara ini menyertai aku. Kami masuk ke dalam rumah orang itu,

13 And he shewed vs how he had sene an angell in his housse which stod and sayde to him: Send men to Ioppa and call for Symon named also Peter:

dan ia menceriterakan kepada kami, bagaimana ia melihat seorang malaikat berdiri di dalam rumahnya dan berkata kepadanya: Suruhlah orang ke Yope untuk menjemput Simon yang disebut Petrus.

14 he shall tell the wordes wherby both thou and all thyne housse shalbe saved.

Ia akan menyampaikan suatu berita kepada kamu, yang akan mendatangkan keselamatan bagimu dan bagi seluruh isi rumahmu.

15 And as I begane to preach ye holy goost fell on them as he dyd on vs at the begynninge.

Dan ketika aku mulai berbicara, turunlah Roh Kudus ke atas mereka, sama seperti dahulu ke atas kita.

16 Then came to my remembrauce ye wordes of the Lorde how he sayde: Iohn baptised with water but ye shalbe baptysed with the holy goost.

Maka teringatlah aku akan perkataan Tuhan: Yohanes membaptis dengan air, tetapi kamu akan dibaptis dengan Roh Kudus.

17 For as moche then as God gave the lyke gyftes as he dyd vnto vs when we beleved on the Lorde Iesus Christ: what was I that I shuld have with stonde God?

Jadi jika Allah memberikan karunia-Nya kepada mereka sama seperti kepada kita pada waktu kita mulai percaya kepada Yesus Kristus, bagaimanakah mungkin aku mencegah Dia?"

18 when they hearde this they helde their peace and gloryfied God sayinge: then hath God also to the gentyls graunted repentaunce vnto lyfe.

Ketika mereka mendengar hal itu, mereka menjadi tenang, lalu memuliakan Allah, katanya: "Jadi kepada bangsa-bangsa lain juga Allah mengaruniakan pertobatan yang memimpin kepada hidup."

19 They which were scattryd abroade thorow the affliccion that arose aboute Steven walked thorow oute tyll they came vnto Phenices and Cypers and Antioche preachynge ye worde to no man but vnto the Iewes only.

Sementara itu banyak saudara-saudara telah tersebar karena penganiayaan yang timbul sesudah Stefanus dihukum mati. Mereka tersebar sampai ke Fenisia, Siprus dan Antiokhia; namun mereka memberitakan Injil kepada orang Yahudi saja.

20 Some of them were men of Cypers and Syrene which when they were come into Antioche spake vnto the Grekes and preched the Lorde Iesus.

Akan tetapi di antara mereka ada beberapa orang Siprus dan orang Kirene yang tiba di Antiokhia dan berkata-kata juga kepada orang-orang Yunani dan memberitakan Injil, bahwa Yesus adalah Tuhan.

21 And the honde of the Lorde was with them and a greate nombre beleved and turned vnto the Lorde.

Dan tangan Tuhan menyertai mereka dan sejumlah besar orang menjadi percaya dan berbalik kepada Tuhan.

22 Tydinges of these thinges came vnto ye eares of the congregacion which was in Ierusalem. And they sente forth Barnabas that he shuld go vnto Antioche.

Maka sampailah kabar tentang mereka itu kepada jemaat di Yerusalem, lalu jemaat itu mengutus Barnabas ke Antiokhia.

23 Which when he was come and had sene the grace of God was glad and exhorted them all that with purpose of hert they wolde continually cleave vnto ye Lorde.

Setelah Barnabas datang dan melihat kasih karunia Allah, bersukacitalah ia. Ia menasihati mereka, supaya mereka semua tetap setia kepada Tuhan,

24 For he was a good man and full of the holy goost and of faythe: and moche people was added vnto the Lorde.

karena Barnabas adalah orang baik, penuh dengan Roh Kudus dan iman. Sejumlah orang dibawa kepada Tuhan.

25 Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus for to seke Saul.

Lalu pergilah Barnabas ke Tarsus untuk mencari Saulus; dan setelah bertemu dengan dia, ia membawanya ke Antiokhia.

26 And when he had founde him he brought him vnto Antioche. And it chaunsed yt a whole yere they had their conversacion with the congregacio there and taught moche people: in so moche that the disciples of Antioche were the fyrst that were called Christen.

Mereka tinggal bersama-sama dengan jemaat itu satu tahun lamanya, sambil mengajar banyak orang. Di Antiokhialah murid-murid itu untuk pertama kalinya disebut Kristen.

27 In those dayes came Prophetes fro Ierusalem vnto Antioche.

Pada waktu itu datanglah beberapa nabi dari Yerusalem ke Antiokhia.

28 And ther stode vp one of them named Agabus and signified by the sprete that ther shuld be great derth throughoute all the worlde which came to passe in ye Emproure Claudius dayes.

Seorang dari mereka yang bernama Agabus bangkit dan oleh kuasa Roh ia mengatakan, bahwa seluruh dunia akan ditimpa bahaya kelaparan yang besar. Hal itu terjadi juga pada zaman Klaudius.

29 Then the disciples every man accordinge to his abilite purposed to sende socoure vnto the brethren which dwelt in Iewry.

Lalu murid-murid memutuskan untuk mengumpulkan suatu sumbangan, sesuai dengan kemampuan mereka masing-masing dan mengirimkannya kepada saudara-saudara yang diam di Yudea.

30 Which thinge they also dyd and sent it to the elders by the hondes of Barnabas and Saul.

Hal itu mereka lakukan juga dan mereka mengirimkannya kepada penatua-penatua dengan perantaraan Barnabas dan Saulus.
