< Luke 10 >

1 After this, the Master appointed seventy-two other disciples, and sent them on as his Messengers, two and two, in advance, to every town and place that he was himself intending to visit.
Kana booddee Gooftaan namoota biraa 72 muudee gara magaalaawwanii fi lafa ofii dhaquuf ture hundaatti lama lamaan of dura isaan erge.
2 “The harvest,” he said, “is abundant, but the labourers are few. Therefore pray to the Owner of the harvest to send labourers to gather in his harvest.
Akkanas isaaniin jedhe; “Midhaan walitti qabamu baayʼee dha; hojjettoonni garuu muraasa. Kanaaf akka Gooftaan midhaan sanaa gara lafa qotiisaa midhaan isaatti hojjettoota erguuf isa kadhadhaa.
3 Now, go. Remember, I am sending you out as my Messengers like lambs among wolves.
Deemaa! Ani akka ilmoolee hoolaa gara gidduu yeeyyiitti isin erga.
4 Do not take a purse with you, or a bag, or sandals; and do not stop to greet any one on your journey.
Borsaa yookaan korojoo yookaan kophee hin qabatinaa; karaa irrattis nama tokko illee nagaa hin gaafatinaa.
5 Whatever house you go to stay at, begin by praying for a blessing on it.
“Yeroo mana tokko seentanitti dursaatii, ‘Nagaan mana kanaaf haa taʼu’ jedhaa.
6 Then, if any one there is deserving of a blessing, your blessing will rest upon him; but if not, it will come back upon yourselves.
Yoo namni nagaa achi jiraate, nagaan keessan isaaf taʼa; yoo kanaa achii nagaan keessan isiniif deebiʼa.
7 Remain at that same house, and eat and drink whatever they offer you; for the worker is worth his wages. Do not keep changing from one house to another.
Waan isaan isinii kennan hunda nyaachaa, dhugaas achuma turaa; hojjetaaf mindaa isaa argachuun ni malaatii. Manaa gara manaatti hin labinaa.
8 Whatever town you visit, if the people welcome you, eat what is set before you;
“Yeroo magaalaa tokko seentanii simatamtanitti waanuma isinii dhiʼaate nyaadhaa.
9 cure the sick there, and tell people ‘The Kingdom of God is close at hand.
Dhukkubsattoota achi jiran fayyisaatii, ‘Mootummaan Waaqaa isinitti dhiʼaateera’ jedhaa isaanitti himaa.
10 But, whatever town you go to visit, if the people do not welcome you, go out into its streets and say
Yoo magaalaa tokko seentanii isin simachuu baatan garuu gara daandii magaalaatti baʼaatii akkana jedhaa;
11 ‘We wipe off the very dust of your town which has clung to Our feet; still, be assured that the Kingdom of God is close at Hand.’
‘Nu akka akeekkachiisa isinii taʼuuf awwaara magaalaa keessanii illee miilla keenya irraa dhadhaʼanna. Taʼus waan kana beekaa: Mootummaan Waaqaa dhiʼaateera.’
12 I tell you that the doom of Sodom will be more bearable on ‘That Day’ than the doom of that town.
Ani isinittin hima; gaafas magaalaa sana irra Sodoomiif ni salphata.
13 Alas for you, Chorazin! Alas for you, Bethsaida! For, if the Miracles which have been done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have sat in sackcloth and ashes and repented long ago.
“Yaa Koraaziin siif wayyoo! Yaa Beetisayidaa siif wayyoo! Hojiin dinqii kan isin keessatti hojjetame sun utuu Xiiroosii fi Siidoonaa keessatti hojjetamee jiraatee isaan silaa yeroo dheeraan dura uffata gaddaa uffatanii, daaraa keessas tataaʼanii qalbii jijjiirratu turan.
14 Yet the doom of Tyre and Sidon will be more bearable at the Judgment than yours.
Garuu guyyaa murtiitti isin irra Xiiroosii fi Siidoonaaf ni salphata.
15 And you, Capernaum! Will you ‘exalt yourself to heaven’? ‘You shall go down to the Place of Death.’ (Hadēs g86)
Atis yaa Qifirnaahom, hamma samiitti ol kaafamtaa? Lakki, Siiʼoolitti gad buuta. (Hadēs g86)
16 He who listens to you is listening to me, and he who rejects you is rejecting me; while he who rejects me is rejecting him who sent me as his Messenger.”
“Namni isin dhagaʼu kam iyyuu na dhagaʼa; namni isin dhagaʼuu didu anas dhagaʼuu dida; namni na dhagaʼuu didu immoo isa na erge sana dhagaʼuu dida.”
17 When the seventy-two returned, they exclaimed joyfully: “Master, even the demons submit to us when we use your name.”
Namoonni torbaatamii lamaan sunis gammachuudhaan deebiʼanii, “Yaa Gooftaa, hafuuronni hamoon iyyuu maqaa keetiin nuu ajajamaniiru” jedhan.
18 And Jesus replied: “I have had visions of Satan, fallen, like lightning from the heavens.
Yesuusis deebisee akkana jedhe; “Ani utuu Seexanni akkuma balaqqeetti samii irraa buʼuu nan arge.
19 Remember, I have given you the power to ‘trample upon serpents and scorpions,’ and to meet all the strength of the Enemy. Nothing shall ever harm you in any way.
Kunoo, ani akka isin bofaa fi torbaanqabaa lafatti dhidhiittanii fi akka humna diinaa hundas moʼattaniif aangoo isinii kenneera; wanni kam iyyuu isin hin miidhu.
20 Yet do not rejoice in the fact that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names have been enrolled in Heaven.”
Garuu sababii maqaan keessan samii keessatti barreeffameef gammadaa malee sababii hafuuronni isinii ajajamaniif hin gammadinaa.”
21 At that same time, moved to exultation by the Holy Spirit, Jesus said: “I thank thee, Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, that, though thou hast hidden these things from the wise and learned, thou hast revealed them to the childlike! Yes, Father, I thank thee that this has seemed good to thee.
Yesuus yeroo sana Hafuura Qulqulluudhaan gammachuun guutamee akkana jedhe; “Yaa Abbaa, Gooftaa samiitii fi lafaa, sababii ati wantoota kanneen ogeeyyii fi hubattoota jalaa dhoksitee daaʼimmanitti mulʼifteef ani sin galateeffadha. Eeyyee yaa Abbaa, ati waan kana gochuutti gammaddeertaatii.
22 Everything has been committed to me by my Father; nor does any one know who the Son is, except the Father, or who the Father is, except the Son and those to whom the Son may choose to reveal him.”
“Abbaan koo waan hunda dabarsee natti kenneera. Abbaa malee namni tokko iyyuu Ilmi eenyu akka taʼe hin beeku; Ilmaa fi nama Ilmi isa itti mulʼisuu fedhu malee namni tokko iyyuu Abbaan eenyu akka taʼe hin beeku.”
23 Then, turning to his disciples, Jesus said to them alone: “Blessed are the eyes that see what you are seeing;
Barattoota isaattis garagalee kophaatti akkana jedheen; “Iji waan isin argitan argu eebbifamaa dha.
24 for, I tell you, many Prophets and Kings wished for the sight of the things which you are seeing, yet never heard them.”
Ani isinittin himaatii raajonnii fi mootonni baayʼeen waan isin argitan kana arguu barbaadan; garuu hin argine. Waan isin dhageessan kanas dhagaʼuu barbaadan; garuu hin dhageenye.”
25 Just then a Student of the Law came forward to test Jesus further. “Teacher,” he said, “what must I do if I am to ‘gain Immortal Life’?” (aiōnios g166)
Gaaf tokko, hayyuun seeraa tokko Yesuusin qoruuf jedhee kaʼee dhaabate. Innis, “Yaa Barsiisaa, ani jireenya bara baraa dhaaluudhaaf maal gochuun qaba?” jedhee gaafate. (aiōnios g166)
26 “What is said in the Law?” answered Jesus. “What do you read there?”
Yesuusis deebisee, “Seera keessatti maaltu barreeffame? Atis akkamitti dubbifta?” jedheen.
27 His reply was — “‘Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thou dost thyself.’”
Namichis, “‘Waaqa kee Goofticha garaa kee guutuudhaan, lubbuu kee guutuudhaan, humna kee guutuudhaan, yaada kee guutuudhaan jaalladhu; ollaa kees akkuma ofii keetiitti jaalladhu’” jedhee deebise.
28 “You have answered right,” said Jesus; “do that, and you shall live.”
Yesuusis, “Sirriitti deebifteerta; atis kanuma godhi ni jiraattaa” jedheen.
29 But the man, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus: “And who is my neighbour?”
Namichi sun garuu qajeelaa of gochuu barbaadee, “Ollaan koo eenyu?” jedhee Yesuusin gaafate.
30 To which Jesus replied: “A man was once going down from Jerusalem to Jericho when he fell into the hands of robbers, who stripped him of everything, and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead.
Yesuusis deebisee akkana jedhe; “Namichi tokko utuu Yerusaalemii baʼee Yerikootti gad buʼaa jiruu harka saamtotaa seene. Isaanis uffata isaa irraa baafatanii, tumanii, duʼaa fi jireenya gidduutti isa dhiisanii deeman.
31 As it chanced, a priest was going down by that road. He saw the man, but passed by on the opposite side.
Lubni tokko utuu akkuma tasaa karaa sanaan gad buʼuu namicha argee irraa goree darbe.
32 A Levite, too, did the same; he came up to the spot, but, when he saw the man, passed by on the opposite side.
Akkasumas namichi gosa Lewwii tokko yommuu iddoo sana gaʼeetti namicha sana argee irraa goree darbe.
33 But a Samaritan, traveling that way, came upon the man, and, when he saw him, he was moved with compassion.
Namichi Samaariyaa tokko garuu utuu deemaa jiruu iddoo namichi sun jiru gaʼe; yommuu isa argettis garaa laafeef.
34 He went to him and bound up his wounds, dressing them with oil and wine, and then put him on his own mule, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
Innis itti dhiʼaatee zayitii fi daadhii wayinii madaa isaatti naqee hidheef; harree isaa irras kaaʼee, mana boqonnaa keessummootaatti isa geesse; achittis isa gargaare.
35 The next day he took out four shillings and gave them to the inn-keeper. ‘Take care of him,’ he said, ‘and whatever more you may spend I will myself repay you on my way back.’
Guyyaa itti aanutti diinaarii lama baasee abbaa mana boqonnaa sanaatti kennee, ‘Namicha kana ittiin naa walʼaani; yoo kana caalaa baaftes ani yeroon deebiʼee dhufutti siifin kenna’ jedheen.
36 Now which, do you think, of these three men,” asked Jesus, “proved himself a neighbour to the man who fell into the robbers’ hands?”
“Egaa jara sadan kanneen keessaa ollaan namicha harka saamtotaa seene sanaa isa kam seeta?”
37 “The one that took pity on him,” was the answer; on which Jesus said: “Go and do the same yourself.”
Hayyuun seeraa sunis, “Isa garaa laafeef sana” jedheen. Yesuusis, “Atis dhaqiitii akkasuma godhi” jedheen.
38 As they continued their journey, Jesus came to a village, where a woman named Martha welcomed him to her house.
Utuu karaa deemaa jiranuu Yesuus ganda tokko seene; dubartiin Maartaa jedhamtu tokkos mana isheetti isa simatte.
39 She had a sister called Mary, who seated herself at the Master’s feet, and listened to his teaching;
Isheenis obboleettii Maariyaam jedhamtu tokko qabdi turte; Maariyaamis miilla Gooftaa jala teessee waan inni jedhu dhaggeeffachaa turte.
40 but Martha was distracted by the many preparations that she was making. So she went up to Jesus and said: “Master, do you approve of my sister’s leaving me to make preparations alone? Tell her to help me.”
Maartaan garuu baayʼina hojiitiin waan dadhabaa turteef gara isaa dhuftee, “Yaa Gooftaa, obboleettiin koo akka ani hojii hunda kophaa koo hojjedhu natti dhiisuun ishee si hin gaddisiisuu? Akka isheen na gargaartu itti himi!” jette.
41 “Martha, Martha,” replied the Master, “you are anxious and trouble yourself about many things;
Gooftaanis deebisee akkana jedheen; “Yaa Maartaa, yaa Maartaa, ati waaʼee waan baayʼee yaaddofta; ni raafamtas.
42 but only a few are necessary, or rather one. Mary has chosen the good part, and it shall not be taken away from her.”
Wanni barbaachisu garuu waanuma tokko qofa; Maariyaam isa caalu filatteerti; innis ishee irraa hin fudhatamu.”
