Psalms 87

1 The city that Yahweh established is on his sacred hill.

Njegov temelj je na svetih gorah.

2 He loves that city, Jerusalem, more than he loves any other city in Israel.

Gospod bolj ljubi sionska velika vrata kakor vsa Jakobova prebivališča.

3 [You people in] [APO] the city that God (owns/lives in), people say wonderful things about your city.

Veličastne stvari se govorijo o tebi, oh Božje mesto. (Sela)

4 [Some of those who know about God are the people of] Egypt and Babylonia, and also [the people of] Philistia and Tyre and Ethiopia; [some day they all] will say, “[Although I was not born in Jerusalem], [because I belong to Yahweh, it is as though] I was born there.”

Tistim, ki me poznajo, bom omenjal Rahab in Babilon; glej Filisteja in Tir z Etiopijo; ta človek je bil rojen tam.

5 And concerning Jerusalem, people will say [“It is as though] everyone was born there, and Almighty God will cause that city to remain strong/safe/secure.”

In o Sionu bo rečeno: »Ta in ta človek je bil rojen v njem in sam najvišji ga bo utrdil.«

6 Yahweh will write a list of [the names of] the people of various groups [who belong to him], and he will say that [he considers them] all to be citizens of Jerusalem.

Ko vpisuje ljudstvo, bo Gospod štel, da je bil ta človek rojen tam. (Sela)

7 They will all dance and sing, saying, “Jerusalem is the source of all our blessings.”

Prav tako bodo tam tako pevci kakor igralci na glasbila. Vsi moji izviri so v tebi.
