Psalms 123

1 Yahweh, I look up toward you, up to heaven, from where you rule.

Matkalaulu. Minä nostan silmäni sinun puoleesi, joka taivaissa asut.

2 Like servants ask [IDM] their masters [for what they need] and like maids ask t their mistresses [for what they need], we ask you, Yahweh our God, [for what we need], and we ask you to be merciful to us.

Katso, niinkuin palvelijain silmät katsovat heidän isäntäinsä käsiin, ja niinkuin palvelijattaren silmät katsovat hänen emäntänsä käsiin, niin meidän silmämme katsovat Herran, meidän Jumalamme, puoleen, kunnes hän armahtaa meitä.

3 Yahweh, be very merciful [DOU] to us because [our enemies] have acted very contemptuously toward us.

Ole meille armollinen, Herra, ole meille armollinen. Sillä kylliksi olemme jo saaneet ylenkatsetta.

4 Rich people have made fun of us for a long time, and proud [people] who have (oppressed/acted cruelly toward) us have acted toward us as though we were worthless.

Sielumme on jo kyllänsä saanut suruttomien pilkasta, ylpeitten ylenkatseesta.
