Luke 9
1 [One day] Jesus summoned his twelve [apostles], and gave them power to expel all [kinds of] demons and to heal [people with] diseases. He gave them authority to do that.
೧ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಮಂದಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಕರೆದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದೆವ್ವಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ರೋಗಗಳನ್ನು ವಾಸಿಮಾಡುವ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅಧಿಕಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು,
2 [Before] he sent them out to heal people and to tell people [what it meant to let] God (rule/have complete control [over]) [their lives],
೨ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಸಾರುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರಾದವರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
3 he said to them, “Do not take things for your journey. Do not take a walking stick or a [traveler’s] bag or food or money. Do not take (an extra shirt/extra clothes).
೩ಕಳುಹಿಸುವಾಗ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ, “ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಏನನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಡಿರಿ, ಕೋಲು, ಚೀಲ, ಬುತ್ತಿ, ಹಣ ಬೇಡ; ಎರಡಂಗಿಗಳಿರಬಾರದು.
4 Whenever you enter some house [to lodge there], stay in that house until you leave that town.
೪ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆ ಊರಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಡುವ ತನಕ ನೀವು ಯಾವ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವಿರೋ, ಆ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಉಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ.
5 [In towns] where the people do not welcome you, [you should not continue to stay there. Just] leave those towns. And as you leave, shake off the dust from your feet. [Do that to] warn them [that God will punish them for rejecting your message].”
೫ಮತ್ತು ಯಾವ ಊರಿನವರಾದರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಆ ಊರನ್ನು ನೀವು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೊರಡುವಾಗ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಾಲಿಗೆ ಹತ್ತಿದ ಧೂಳನ್ನು ಝಾಡಿಸಿಬಿಡಿರಿ; ಅದು ಅವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿರಲಿ” ಅಂದನು.
6 Then they left and traveled through many villages. Everywhere [they went], they told people God’s good message and healed sick people.
೬ಆಗ ಅವರು ಹೊರಟು ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರುತ್ತಾ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ರೋಗಿಗಳನ್ನು ವಾಸಿಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
7 Herod [Antipas], the ruler of [that] district, heard about the things that [Jesus and his disciples] were doing. [He had previously commanded his soldiers to execute John the Baptizer, so now] he was perplexed, because some people were saying that John had become alive again [and was doing those miracles].
೭ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಉಪರಾಜನಾದ ಹೆರೋದನು ನಡೆದ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಳಿ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಕಳವಳಗೊಂಡನು, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಸತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಯೋಹಾನನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಬದುಕಿಬಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಕೆಲವರೂ,
8 Others were saying that [the prophet] Elijah had appeared [again as had been prophesied]. Others were saying that one of the [other] former prophets had become alive again [and was doing those miracles].
೮ಎಲೀಯನು ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನೆಂದು ಕೆಲವರೂ, ಪೂರ್ವದ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೋ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಜೀವದಿಂದ ಎದ್ದಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಮತ್ತೆ ಕೆಲವರೂ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
9 But Herod said, “[It cannot be John who is doing these things], [because] I [commanded my soldiers to] cut off his head. So who is [this man] that I am hearing these things about?” And he kept wanting to see [Jesus].
೯ಆದರೆ ಹೆರೋದನು, “ಯೋಹಾನನನ್ನು ನಾನೇ ಶಿರಚ್ಛೇದನಮಾಡಿಸಿದೆನಷ್ಟೆ. ಹಾಗಿದ್ದಲಿ ಇವನಾರು? ಇವನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಕರವಾದ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳುತ್ತೇನಲ್ಲಾ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ನೋಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದನು.
10 When the apostles returned [from traveling to various towns], they told Jesus the things that they had done. Then he took them and they went by themselves [by boat] to a town called Bethsaida.
೧೦ಇತ್ತಲಾಗಿ ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರು ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದು ತಾವು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ ವಿವರವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕವಾಗಿ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬೇತ್ಸಾಯಿದವೆಂಬ ಊರಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
11 But when the crowds [of people who had been with Jesus] found out about that, they followed him [on land. When they got to where he was], he welcomed them. He taught them about how God is going to some day (rule as king/have complete control [over people’s lives]). He also healed the sick people.
೧೧ಜನರ ಗುಂಪು ಇದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬರಲು ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದ್ದವರನ್ನು ಗುಣಪಡಿಸಿದನು.
12 Late in the afternoon Jesus’ twelve [apostles] came to him and said, “This is a place where nobody lives, so dismiss the people so that they can go to the surrounding villages and other places where they can get some food and find places to stay!”
೧೨ಸಂಜೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿರಲು, ಆ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಮಂದಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, “ಈ ಗುಂಪಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಡು; ಇವರು ಸುತ್ತಲಿರುವ ಹಳ್ಳಿಪಳ್ಳಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಊಟವಸತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ; ನಾವು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಜನ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದೇವಲ್ಲಾ” ಎಂದು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಲಾಗಿ,
13 But he said to them, “[No], you [yourselves] give them something to eat!” They replied, “We [(exc)] have only five small loaves and two [cooked] fish. Are you [(sg)] going to [give] us [the money] to go somewhere and buy food for all these people?”
೧೩ಆತನು, “ನೀವೇ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡಿರಿ” ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವರು, “ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಐದು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಎರಡು ಮೀನು ಹೊರತು ಹೆಚ್ಚೇನೂ ಇಲ್ಲ, ನಾವು ಹೋಗಿ ಈ ಜನರಿಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡು ತರಬೇಕೋ?” ಅಂದರು.
14 There were about 5,000 men [there]. He replied to the disciples, “[No], [just] tell the people to sit down. Tell them to sit in groups, with about 50 people in each group.”
೧೪ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಗಂಡಸರೇ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಐದು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿಯಿದ್ದರು. ಆಗ ಯೇಸುವು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ, “ಇವರನ್ನು ಒಂದೊಂದು ಪಂಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚುಕಡಿಮೆ ಐವತ್ತೈವತ್ತರಂತೆ ಕೂರಿಸಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು,
15 After they told the people that, they all sat down.
೧೫ಅವರು ಅದರಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಕುಳ್ಳಿರಿಸಿದರು.
16 Then he took the five small loaves and the two fish. He looked up towards heaven and thanked [God for them]. Then he broke them [into pieces] and gave them to the disciples so that they would distribute them to the crowd.
೧೬ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೇಸುವು ಆ ಐದು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಎರಡು ಮೀನುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಆಕಾಶದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ನೋಡಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿ, ಮುರಿದು ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಕೈಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಇದನ್ನು ಜನರ ಗುಂಪಿಗೆ ಹಂಚಿರಿ ಅಂದನು.
17 All [the people in the crowd] ate until they all had enough to eat. Then [the disciples] collected twelve baskets full of the broken pieces that were left over!
೧೭ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಊಟಮಾಡಿ ತೃಪ್ತರಾದರು; ನಂತರ ಉಳಿದ ತುಂಡುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಲಾಗಿ ಅವು ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಪುಟ್ಟಿ ಆದವು.
18 [One day] Jesus was praying in a place where only the disciples were with him. He asked them, “The crowds [of people], who do they say that I [really] am?”
೧೮ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಯೇಸುವು ಏಕಾಂತವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಆತನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಆತನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದರು. ಅನಂತರ ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಜನರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಏನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ?” ಎಂದು ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲು,
19 They replied, “[Some people say that you are] John the Baptizer, [who has come back to life again]. Others say that you are [the prophet] Elijah, [who has returned from heaven as God promised]. Others say that you are one of the [other] prophets who lived long ago, who has come back to life again.”
೧೯ಅವರು, “ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸ್ನಾನಿಕನಾದ ಯೋಹಾನನು ಎಂದೂ, ಕೆಲವರು ಎಲೀಯನು ಎಂದೂ, ಇನ್ನು ಕೆಲವರು ಪೂರ್ವದ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೋ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಜೀವದಿಂದ ಎದ್ದಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
20 He asked them, “What about you [(pl)]? Who do you say that I am?” Peter replied, “You [(sg)] are the Messiah, who [has come from] God.”
೨೦ಯೇಸು ಅವರನ್ನು, “ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಯಾರು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತೀರಿ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲಾಗಿ ಪೇತ್ರನು, “ನೀನು ದೇವರಿಂದ ಬರಬೇಕಾಗಿರುವ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
21 Then Jesus warned them strongly not to tell that to anyone [yet].
೨೧ಆಗ ಯೇಸುವು, ಇದನ್ನು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಹೇಳಬೇಡಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಬಹು ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
22 Then he said, “[Even though I am] the one who came from heaven, it is necessary that I suffer very much. It is also necessary that I be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the men who teach the [Jewish] laws {that the [Jewish] elders and the chief priests and the men who teach the [Jewish] laws will reject me}. It is necessary that I be killed {that [people] will kill me}. Then on the third day [after that], I will become alive again.”
೨೨ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ಬಹು ಕಷ್ಟಗಳನ್ನನುಭವಿಸಿ, ಹಿರಿಯರಿಂದಲೂ ಮುಖ್ಯಯಾಜಕರಿಂದಲೂ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಕೊಲ್ಲಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಮೂರನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವಿತನಾಗಿ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಲ್ಪಡಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
23 Then he said to all of them, “If any one [of you] wants to be my disciple, you must not do [only] what you yourself desire [to do]. [Specifically], you must be willing each day [MET] [to let others hurt you and disgrace you. That is like what is done to criminals who are forced] to carry [MET] crosses [to the place where they will be executed]. [That is what anyone who wants to] be my disciple [must do].
೨೩ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆತನು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ, “ಯಾವನಿಗಾದರೂ ನನ್ನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿ ಪ್ರತಿದಿನವು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಲುಬೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಲಿ.
24 You must do that, because those who try to save their lives [by denying that they belong to me when people want to kill them for believing in me] will not live [eternally], but those who are killed because of being my [disciples] will live [forever with me].
೨೪ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು, ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
25 People might get everything that [they want] in this world, but (they are really gaining nothing if they do not get eternal life by [becoming my disciples]!/are they really gaining anything if they do not get eternal life by [becoming my disciples]?) [RHQ]
೨೫ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಲೋಕವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೂ ತನ್ನನ್ನೇ ತಾನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅಥವಾ ನಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವೇನು?
26 Those who reject my message [and] refuse to say that [they belong] to me, [I], the one who came from heaven, will also refuse to say that [they belong to me] when I come back with the holy angels, and have the glorious brightness that my Father has.
೨೬ಯಾವನು ನನಗೂ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಗೂ ನಾಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೋ, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ತನಗೂ ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೂ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ದೂತರಿಗೂ ಇರುವ ಮಹಾಪ್ರಭಾವದೊಡನೆ ಬರುವಾಗ ಅವನ ಕುರಿತು ನಾಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
27 But listen carefully! Some of you [(pl)] who are here now will see God ruling [MET] [in many powerful ways]. You will see it before you die!”
೨೭ನಿಮಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿರುವವರೊಳಗೆ ಕೆಲವರು ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೋಡುವ ತನಕ ಮರಣಹೊಂದುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
28 About a week after [Jesus] said those things, he took Peter, James, and [James’ brother] John and led them up a mountain so that he could pray [there].
೨೮ಯೇಸು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿ ಸುಮಾರು ಎಂಟು ದಿನಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಪೇತ್ರ ಯೋಹಾನ ಯಾಕೋಬರನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿದನು.
29 As he was praying, his face appeared very different to them. His clothes became as bright as lightning.
೨೯ಆತನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರಲಾಗಿ ಆತನ ಮುಖಭಾವವು ಬದಲಾಯಿತು. ಆತನ ಉಡುಪು ಬೆಳ್ಳಗಾಗಿ ಮಿಂಚುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿತು.
30 Suddenly, two men appeared who had the brightness [of heaven] surrounding them. They were [prophets who had lived long ago], Moses and Elijah. They started talking with Jesus about how he [would accomplish what God had planned when he died] [EUP] [very soon] in Jerusalem.
೩೦ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಪುರುಷರು ಆತನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಯಾರೆಂದರೆ ಮೋಶೆಯೂ ಎಲೀಯನೂ.
೩೧ಅವರು ವೈಭವದೊಡನೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನು ಹೊಂದಬೇಕಾಗಿದ್ದ ಮರಣದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
32 Peter and the other [disciples] who were with him were sound asleep. When they woke up, they saw [Jesus’] brightness. They also saw the two men standing with him.
೩೨ಇಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಪೇತ್ರನಿಗೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದವರಿಗೂ ನಿದ್ರೆಯಿಂದ ಮೈಭಾರವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಎಚ್ಚರವಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರು ಆತನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನೂ ಆತನ ಸಂಗಡ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದ ಆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಪುರುಷರನ್ನೂ ಕಂಡರು.
33 As [Moses and Elijah] were starting to leave Jesus, Peter said to him, “Master, it is wonderful for us to be here! Allow us to make three shelters, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah!” But he really did not realize what he was talking about.
೩೩ಅವರು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ಗುರುವೇ ನಾವು ಇಲ್ಲೇ ಇರುವುದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು, ಮೂರು ಗುಡಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುವೆವು; ನಿನಗೊಂದು ಎಲೀಯನಿಗೊಂದು ಹಾಗೂ ಮೋಶೆಗೊಂದು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ತಾನು ಏನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ತನಗೇ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
34 As he was saying that, a [bright] cloud appeared and covered them all. The disciples were afraid as the cloud surrounded them.
೩೪ಅವನು ಇದನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಮೋಡವು ಬಂದು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕವಿಯಿತು. ಮೋಡವು ಅವರನ್ನು ಆವರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಅವರು ಹೆದರಿದರು.
35 [God] [MTY/EUP] spoke to them from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son. He is the one whom [I] have chosen [to do a great work for me]. [So] you must listen to him!”
೩೫ಆಗ ಆ ಮೋಡದೊಳಗಿಂದ, “ಈತನು ನನ್ನ ಮಗನು. ನಾನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವನು, ಈತನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ” ಎಂಬ ವಾಣಿ ಆಯಿತು.
36 After [God] [MTY/EUP] finished saying that, [the three disciples] saw that only Jesus was there. They did not tell anyone what they had seen until much later.
೩೬ಆ ವಾಣಿ ಆದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಕಂಡರು. ತಾವು ಕಂಡ ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದನ್ನಾದರೂ ಆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿಸದೆ ಸುಮ್ಮನಿದ್ದರು.
37 The next day, after they had come down from the mountain, a large crowd [of people] met Jesus.
೩೭ಮರುದಿನ ಅವರು ಬೆಟ್ಟದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ಬಂದಾಗ ಜನರ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗುಂಪೊಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡಿತು.
38 Then a man from the crowd exclaimed, “Teacher, I plead with you, [do something to help] my son! He is my only child!
೩೮ಆಗ ಆ ಗುಂಪಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬನು, “ಬೋಧಕನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಕಟಾಕ್ಷಿಸು ಎಂದು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನನಗೆ ಇವನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಮಗನು.
39 At various times an evil spirit suddenly seizes him and [causes] him to scream. The evil spirit shakes him violently and causes him to foam at the mouth. It does not leave until my child is completely exhausted.
೩೯ಇವನನ್ನು ದೆವ್ವಹಿಡಿಯುತ್ತದೆ, ಹಿಡಿಯುತ್ತಲೇ ಕೂಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅದು ಬಾಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೊರೆ ಬರುವಷ್ಟು ಇವನನ್ನು ಒದ್ದಾಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬಹು ಕಷ್ಟಕೊಟ್ಟು ತೊಂದರೆಪಡಿಸಿದ ಹೊರತು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
40 I pleaded with your disciples [who were here] for them to expel [the evil spirit], but they were not able to do it!”
೪೦ಅದನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡೆನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವರಿಂದ ಆಗದೆಹೋಯಿತು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
41 Jesus replied [by saying to everyone who had gathered there], “[You who have seen how I help people] do not believe [that you can do anything]. What you [think] is perverted! How long must I be with you [before you are able to do what I do] [RHQ]? [How long must I] endure your [lack of faith]?” [Then he said to the boy’s father], “Bring your [(sg)] son here [to me]!”
೪೧ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು, “ಎಲಾ ಅಪನಂಬಿಕೆಯುಳ್ಳಂಥ ಮೂರ್ಖಸಂತಾನವೇ, ನಾನು ಇನ್ನೆಷ್ಟು ದಿನ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಹಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ?” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಮತ್ತು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ “ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ” ಅಂದನು.
42 While they were bringing the boy to Jesus, the demon attacked the boy, threw him to the ground, and shook him severely. But Jesus rebuked the evil spirit and healed the boy. Then he returned him to his father’s [care].
೪೨ಆ ಹುಡುಗನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಆ ದೆವ್ವವು ಅವನನ್ನು ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪ್ಪಳಿಸಿ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಒದ್ದಾಡಿಸಿತು. ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಆ ದೆವ್ವವನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಿ ಆ ಹುಡುಗನಿಗೆ ವಾಸಿಮಾಡಿ ಅವನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.
43 All the people [there] were amazed at the great [power] of God. Luke 9:43b-45 While they were all amazed at all the miracles [Jesus] was doing, he said to his disciples,
೪೩ಅದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಎಲ್ಲರು ದೇವರ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆರಗಾದರು. ಯೇಸುಮಾಡಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಡುತ್ತಿರಲಾಗಿ, ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ,
44 “Think carefully [MTY] about what I am about to tell you: [Even though I am] the one who came from heaven, [I will soon] be handed over to the authorities (OR, my enemies) {[someone] is about to enable [MTY] my enemies to seize me}.”
೪೪“ನೀವಂತೂ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
45 But [the disciples] did not understand what he was saying; [God] prevented them from understanding it, so that they would not know [yet] what he meant. And they were afraid to ask him about [what he had said].
೪೫ಅವರು ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮರೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಅದರ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಹೋದರು. ಆ ಮಾತಿನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಂಜಿದರು.
46 The disciples began to argue among themselves about which one of them would be the greatest [when Jesus became king].
೪೬ತರುವಾಯ ಶಿಷ್ಯರೊಳಗೆ, ತಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನವನು ಎಂಬ ವಿಚಾರಹುಟ್ಟಿತು.
47 But Jesus perceived what they were thinking. So he brought a young child to his side.
೪೭ಯೇಸು ಅವರ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದವನಾಗಿ, ಒಂದು ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಗುವನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ,
48 He said to [the disciples], “Those who, because they [love] me, (OR, because they want to behave like me) welcome a little child ([like] this one/[as] I [would]) [MTY], [God considers that] [MET] they are welcoming me. And those who welcome me, [God considers] that [MET] they are welcoming him, the one who sent me. Remember that those among you who think of themselves as being very unimportant will be the ones [whom God considers] to be great.”
೪೮ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಹಾಗಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಾತನನ್ನೇ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಹಾಗಾಯಿತು, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವನು ಚಿಕ್ಕವನೋ ಅವನೇ ದೊಡ್ಡವನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
49 John replied to [Jesus], “Master, we [(exc)] saw a man who was expelling demons, [claiming] that [he had] authority from you [MTY] to do that. So we told him to stop doing it, because he is not one of us [disciples].”
೪೯ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಹಾನನು, “ಗುರುವೇ, ಯಾವನೋ ಒಬ್ಬನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿ ದೆವ್ವಬಿಡಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ನಾವು ಕಂಡು ಅವನು ನಮಗೆ ಸೇರಿದವನಲ್ಲವಾದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಮಾಡಿದೆವು” ಅನ್ನಲು,
50 But Jesus said to him [and the other disciples], “Do not tell him not to [do that]! Remember that those who are not opposing you are trying to [achieve the same goals that] you are!”
೫೦ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಅಡ್ಡಿಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ; ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಲ್ಲದವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಕ್ಷದವನೇ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
51 When it was almost time for [God] to take Jesus up to heaven, he firmly resolved to go to Jerusalem.
೫೧ಯೇಸು ತಾನು ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿಹೋಗುವ ದಿನಗಳು ಸಮೀಪಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ದೃಢಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.
52 He sent some messengers to go ahead of him, and they entered a village in Samaria [district] to prepare for him [SYN] [to go there].
೫೨ತನ್ನ ಮುಂದಾಗಿ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಇವರು ಹೊರಟು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದವರ ಒಂದು ಹಳ್ಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
53 But [the Samaritans did not like the Jews because of their insisting that it was necessary to go to Jerusalem to worship God. So], because Jesus had firmly resolved to go to Jerusalem, they would not let him come [to their village].
೫೩ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವವನಾದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಆ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದವರು ಆತನನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
54 When two of his disciples, James and John, heard about that, they said, “Lord, do you [(sg)] want us [(exc)] to pray that [God] will send fire down from heaven, [as the prophet Elijah did long ago], and destroy those people?”
೫೪ಆತನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಾದ ಯಾಕೋಬ, ಯೋಹಾನರು ಇದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಬೆಂಕಿಬಿದ್ದು ಇವರನ್ನು ನಾಶ ಮಾಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ನಾವು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಮನಸ್ಸುಂಟೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು,
55 But Jesus turned and rebuked them [for saying that].
೫೫ಯೇಸು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವರನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಿದನು.
56 So they went to a different village.
೫೬ಆಗ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಹೊರಟು ಬೇರೆ ಹಳ್ಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
57 As Jesus and the disciples were walking along the road, one man said to him, “I will go with you [(sg)] wherever you go!”
೫೭ಅವರು ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋದರೂ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು,
58 [In order that the man might know what he could expect if he went with Jesus], Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes [in the ground in which to live], and birds have nests, but [even though I am] the one who came from heaven, I do not have a home where I can sleep!”
೫೮ಆತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಗುಹೆಗಳಿವೆ, ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾರಾಡುವ ಹಕ್ಕಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಗೂಡುಗಳಿವೆ; ಆದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನಿಗೆ ತಲೆಯಿಡುವಷ್ಟು ಸ್ಥಳವೂ ಇಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
59 Jesus told another man, “Come with me!” But the man said, “Lord/Sir, let me go [home] first. [After] my father [dies] I will bury him, [and then I will come with you].”
೫೯ಯೇಸು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ, “ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು ಅವನು, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಾನು ಮೊದಲು ಹೋಗಿ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಉತ್ತರಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಬರುವಂತೆ ನನಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು” ಅಂದನು.
60 But Jesus said to him, “[God considers that those who do not have eternal life are] dead [MET]. Let those people [do the work of] burying people who die. As for you, go and tell people about how God wants (to rule/to have complete control [over]) [people’s lives]!”
೬೦ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಸತ್ತವರೇ ತಮ್ಮವರಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ತುಹೋದವರ ಉತ್ತರಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಿ, ನೀನಂತೂ ಹೋಗಿ ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
61 Someone else said, “Lord, I will come with you and be your disciple, but first let me go home to say goodbye to my relatives.”
೬೧ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನು ಸಹ, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಆದರೆ ಮೊದಲು ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಬೀಳ್ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು” ಅಂದನು.
62 Jesus said to him, “Anyone who is plowing his field should not look back [to see what he has done. He must look forward to what is ahead. Similarly], [anyone who continues to be concerned about his family and other things he has left behind] is not fit [to serve me and tell others about how] God wants to rule [MTY] [people’s lives].”
೬೨ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ನೇಗಿಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಅವನು ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕವನಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
