Isaiah 43
1 But now, you people of Israel, listen to Yahweh, the one who established your nation. The one who caused you to become a nation [DOU] says this: “Do not be afraid, because I previously rescued you. I enabled you to have a personal relationship with me [MTY], and you belong to me.
Nhưng bây giờ, hỡi Gia-cốp, hãy lắng nghe Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đấng tạo dựng con. Hỡi Ít-ra-ên, Đấng đã tạo thành con phán: “Đừng sợ, vì Ta đã chuộc con. Ta gọi đích danh con; con thuộc về Ta.
2 When you [experience dangerous situations], and [you feel like] [MET] you are crossing deep rivers, I will be with you. When you have very big troubles/difficulties, you will [LIT] be able to endure them. When [people try to kill you like they tried to kill Daniel’s three friends by] throwing them in a fire, you will not [die, just like Daniel’s three friends were not] burned up,
Khi con vượt qua dòng nước sâu, Ta sẽ ở cùng con. Khi con lội qua những khúc sông nguy hiểm, con sẽ chẳng bị chìm đắm. Khi con bước qua đám lửa cháy dữ dội, con sẽ không bị phỏng; ngọn lửa sẽ không thiêu đốt được con.
3 because I am Yahweh, your God, the Holy One of Israel, the one who rescues you. I will enable [the army of the emperor of Persia] to conquer Egypt instead of conquering you; similarly I will enable them to conquer Ethiopia, and Seba [in Arabia], in order that you can be saved.
Vì Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của con, là Đấng Thánh của Ít-ra-ên, và Đấng Cứu Rỗi của con. Ta ban Ai Cập làm giá chuộc con; dùng Ê-thi-ô-pi và Sê-ba thế chỗ con.
4 I will cause other countries to be conquered, instead of your country; I will trade them for you, in order that you will not be killed, because you are very precious [DOU] to me and because I love you.
Ta dùng nhiều người đổi lấy con; và nhiều dân tộc thế sinh mạng con vì con quý giá đối với Ta. Con được tôn trọng, vì Ta yêu mến con.
5 Do not be afraid, because I am with you. [Some day] I will gather your descendants from the east and from the west.
Đừng sợ, vì Ta ở với con. Ta sẽ tập hợp con và dòng dõi con từ phương đông và phương tây.
6 I will command the [rulers of the nations to] the north and to the south, ‘Allow all the people of Israel to return [to their country], from the most distant places on the earth.
Ta sẽ bảo phương bắc và phương nam rằng: ‘Hãy đưa con trai và con gái Ta trở về Ít-ra-ên từ những vùng xa xôi tận cùng mặt đất.
7 Allow all those who belong to me [MTY] to return, because I have caused them to become a nation in order that they would honor me; I am the one who has done that [DOU].’
Hãy đưa tất cả ai công bố Ta là Đức Chúa Trời của họ trở về Ít-ra-ên, vì Ta đã tạo họ để tôn vinh Ta. Đó là Ta, Đấng tạo thành họ.’”
8 Summon the people who have eyes but [it is as though] they are blind; summon those who have ears but [because they do not listen to me, it is as though] they are deaf.
Hãy đem dân này ra, là dân có mắt nhưng mù, dân có tai mà điếc.
9 Gather people of all nations together, ones from all people-groups, [and ask them this]: ‘Has any of their idols foretold the things that are happening now? And can any of them predict what will happen in the future?’ Then bring people who will testify and say ‘I heard them predict things, and what they predicted was what happened,’ [but they will be lying].”
Hãy triệu tập các nước lại với nhau! Quy tụ các dân tộc trên thế giới! Có thần tượng nào của chúng từng báo trước những lời này? Thần nào có thể đoán được chuyện sẽ xảy ra ngày mai? Các nhân chứng cho các lời báo trước ở đâu? Ai có thể xác nhận điều chúng nói là sự thật?
10 But Yahweh says, “You people of Israel (are my witnesses/know what I have done), and you are the ones who serve me. I chose you in order that you would know me, believe in me, and understand that I am the only one who is [truly] God. There is no other [true] God. There was no other [true] God previously, and there will never be another [true] God.
Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: “Nhưng con là nhân chứng của Ta, hỡi Ít-ra-ên, con là đầy tớ của Ta. Con được chọn để biết Ta, tin Ta, và hiểu rằng chỉ có Ta là Đức Chúa Trời. Không có Đức Chúa Trời nào khác— chưa bao giờ có, và sẽ không bao giờ có.
11 I, [only] I, am Yahweh, and there is no other one who can save you.
Ta, chính Ta, là Chúa Hằng Hữu, không có Đấng Cứu Rỗi nào khác.
12 I said that I would rescue [your ancestors], and then I rescued them, and I proclaimed [that I had done it]. No foreign god among you did that! And you are witnesses that only I, Yahweh, am God.
Đầu tiên Ta báo trước việc giải thoát con, sau đó Ta cứu con và công bố ra thế giới. Chẳng có thần nào từng làm việc này. Con là nhân chứng rằng Ta là Đức Chúa Trời duy nhất.” Chúa Hằng Hữu đã phán.
13 I am God, the one who has existed forever and who will exist forever; no one can snatch people from my hand, and no one can alter/change what I have done.”
“Thật vậy, từ nghìn xưa, Ta đã là Đức Chúa Trời. Không ai có thể giật lấy người nào khỏi tay Ta. Không ai có thể sửa lại việc Ta đã tiến hành?”
14 Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel, is the one who rescues you; and this is what he says: “For your sake, I will send [an army] to [attack] Babylon. They will force the people of that city to flee in ships which they have been proud of.
Đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu phán—Đấng Cứu Chuộc của con, Đấng Thánh của Ít-ra-ên: “Vì các con, Ta đã sai một đội quân đến Ba-by-lôn, bắt người Canh-đê chạy trốn trong những tàu chúng từng hãnh diện.
15 I am Yahweh, your Holy One, the one who caused Israel to become a nation, and the one who is really your king.
Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đấng Thánh của các con, Đấng Tạo Dựng và là Vua của Ít-ra-ên.
16 I am Yahweh, the one who opened a path through the water, making a road through the [Red] Sea.
Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đấng mở đường giữa đại dương và làm ra một lối đi khô ráo xuyên qua biển.
17 Then I summoned the great army [of Egypt] to come with all their chariots and horses. [But when they tried to pursue my people], I caused the waves to flow over them [and they drowned]; their lives ended [like the light of a candle ends when someone] [MET] snuffs out the wick.
Ta đã gọi đến đội quân Ai Cập với tất cả chiến xa và ngựa của nó. Ta đã chôn vùi chúng dưới lòng biển cả, và chúng chết ngộp, mạng sống chúng tiêu tan như tim đèn bị dập tắt.
18 But do not think [only] about what happened in the past, long ago [DOU].
Đừng nhớ lại quá khứ đen tối! Đừng nhắc mãi những chuyện thuở trước.
19 Instead, consider the new thing that I am going to do. I have already started to do it; can you see it? I am going to make a road through the desert. And I will cause there to be streams in the wasteland/desert.
Này, Ta sẽ làm một việc mới. Kìa, Ta đã bắt đầu! Các con có thấy không? Ta sẽ mở thông lộ giữa đồng hoang, Ta sẽ khơi sông ngòi để tưới nhuần đất khô.
20 The jackals/wolves and owls and other wild creatures will thank me for giving them water in the desert. I will cause streams to appear in the dry desert in order that my people, the ones whom I have chosen, will have water;
Các dã thú trong đồng sẽ cảm tạ Ta, loài chó rừng và loài cú sẽ tôn ngợi Ta, vì Ta cho chúng nước trong hoang mạc. Phải, Ta sẽ khơi sông ngòi tưới nhuần đất khô để dân Ta đã chọn được tươi mới.
21 I will do that for the people whom I have created [and chosen] to belong to me, and [some day] they will cause many others to praise me.
Ta đã tạo nên Ít-ra-ên cho Ta, và một ngày kia, họ sẽ ngợi tôn Ta trước cả thế giới.”
22 But now, you descendants of Jacob, you refuse to request my help. It seems that you people of Israel have become tired of worshiping me.
“Nhưng, hỡi nhà Gia-cốp, con không kêu cầu Ta. Con đã chán Ta, hỡi Ít-ra-ên!
23 You have not brought to me sheep or goats for offerings that will be completely burned [on the altar]; you have not honored me by [bringing to me any] sacrifices, even though the offerings of grain and incense [that I asked you] to bring to me were not a burden to you.
Các con không dâng lên Ta chiên và dê làm tế lễ thiêu. Các con không tôn vinh Ta bằng các sinh tế, Ta đâu có buộc hay mong mỏi các con dâng của lễ chay và dâng nhũ hương!
24 You have bought for me fragrant reeds, and you have brought me the fat from your sacrifices. But these have not pleased me, because you have burdened me by all the sins that you have committed, and made me weary because of all (your iniquities/the wrong things that you have done).
Các con không mang mùi hương cây xương bồ cho Ta, hay làm hài lòng Ta với những sinh tế béo ngậy. Trái lại, tội lỗi các con làm Ta đau lòng và gian ác các ngươi làm Ta lo lắng.
25 I am the one who is able to forgive you for all your sins; I am the only one who can do that, with the result that I will never think about them again.
Ta—phải, chỉ một mình Ta—sẽ xóa tội lỗi của các con vì chính Ta và sẽ không bao giờ nhớ đến tội lỗi của các con nữa.
26 Tell me what I have done that you do not like. Do you think that when you state your case, you will prove that you (are innocent/have done nothing wrong) [IRO]?
Hãy cùng nhau ôn lại những việc đã qua, các con có thể đưa ra lý lẽ chứng tỏ các con vô tội.
27 No, [what has happened is that] the first ancestor of you Israelis sinned [against me], and since then, all your leaders have rebelled against me.
Từ lúc khởi đầu, tổ phụ các con đều đã phạm tội chống nghịch Ta; những người lãnh đạo của các con đã bẻ gãy luật pháp Ta.
28 That is why I have caused your priests to be disgraced; and I have allowed others to destroy you people of Israel and caused you to be despised.”
Đó là tại sao Ta sẽ làm nhục các thầy tế lễ của con; Ta đã ban lệnh tiêu hủy nhà Gia-cốp và bỏ mặc Ít-ra-ên bị phỉ báng.”
