Genesis 6
1 When people began to become very numerous all over the earth, and many daughters were born to them,
Ug nahitabo, sa misugod pagdaghan ang mga tawo sa ibabaw sa nawong sa yuta, ug may nangatawo kanila nga mga anak nga babaye,
2 some of the men who (belonged to/believed in) God saw that some of the women who did not (belong to/believe in) God were very beautiful. So they took whichever ones they chose to become their wives.
Nga sa pagkakita sa mga anak nga lalake sa Dios nga ang mga anak nga babaye sa mga tawo nga sila mga maanyag, nangasawa sila sa tanan nilang napili.
3 Then Yahweh said, “[I will] not [allow] my Spirit to keep people alive forever (OR, the breath of life will not remain in people forever). They will die eventually. They will live not more than 120 years before they die (OR, there will be only 120 more years before they die).”
Ug miingon si Jehova: Ang Akong Espiritu dili makiglalis sa gihapon sa tawo, kay siya unod; apan ang iyang mga adlaw magausa ka gatus ug kaluhaan ka tuig.
4 There were [giants called] Nephils who lived on the earth at that time and later. During that time [some of the Nephil] men who (belonged to/believed in) God had sex [EUP] with women who did not (belong to/believe in) God, and they gave birth to children. The Nephils were considered to be heroic fighters, and they became famous.
Niadtong mga adlawa dihay mga higante sa yuta; ug sa human usab niini sa nahaduol ang mga anak nga lalake sa Dios sa mga anak nga babaye sa mga tawo, ug nanagpanganak sila; kini sila mao ang mga maisug nga tawo sa karaang panahon, ang mga tawo nga bantugan.
5 Yahweh saw that people on the earth had become very wicked, and that everything they thought about evil things continually.
Ug nakita ni Jehova ang pagkadautan sa tawo sa yuta daku, ug nga ang tanang pagpalandong sa mga hunahuna sa iyang kasingkasing lonlon mga kadautan lamang gihapon.
6 Yahweh was sorry that he had made people.
Ug kini nakapabasul kang Jehova nga gibuhat niya ang tawo sa yuta, ug nakapasubo kini kaniya sa iyang kasingkasing.
7 So he said, “I will completely destroy the people I made. I will also destroy all the animals and the creatures that scurry across the ground and the birds. None of them will remain on the earth, because I regret that I made them.”
Ug miingon si Jehova: Pagalaglagon ko gikan sa nawong sa yuta ang tawo nga akong gibuhat; sukad sa tawo hangtud sa mga mananap ug hangtud sa mga butang nanagkamang sa yuta, ug sa mga langgam sa kalangitan; kay kini nakapabasul kanako nga gibuhat ko sila.
8 But Yahweh was pleased with Noah.
Apan si Noe nakakaplag ug kahamuot sa mga mata ni Jehova.
9 This is why: Noah was a man who always acted in a righteous way. No one who lived at that time could criticize him about anything. Noah lived in close fellowship with God.
Kini mao ang mga kaliwatan ni Noe: si Noe maoy usa ka tawo nga matarung ug hingpit sa iyang mga kaliwatan. Si Noe nagalakaw uban sa Dios.
10 Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
Ug si Noe nanganak ug totolo ka mga anak nga lalake: Si Sem, si Cham ug si Japhet.
11 At that time God considered that everyone else on earth was very wicked, and everywhere on the earth, people [MTY] were acting cruelly and violently toward each other.
Ug ang yuta dunot sa atubangan sa Dios, ug ang yuta napuno sa mga paglugos.
12 God was dismayed when he saw how evil people [MTY] were, because everyone (OR, all living creatures) had begun to behave in an evil way.
Ug nakita sa Dios ang yuta, ug ania karon, kini nadunot; kay ang tanang unod nagdunot sa ilang dalan sa ibabaw sa yuta.
13 So God said to Noah, “I have decided to destroy everyone, because all over the earth people are acting violently toward each other. So I am about to get rid of them as well as everything else on the earth.
Ug miingon ang Dios kang Noe: Ang katapusan sa tanan nga unod ania na sa atubangan nako, kay ang yuta napuno sa mga paglugos tungod kanila; ug ania karon pagalaglagon ko sila uban sa yuta.
14 [I want you to] make for yourself a large boat from cypress wood. Make rooms inside it. Cover the outside and the inside with tar [to make it (waterproof/so that water cannot get in and sink the boat]).
Magbuhat ka ug usa ka arca sa kahoy nga Gopher; magbuhat ka ug mga lawak sa sulod sa arca, ug pagabuliton mo ug salong ang sulod ug gawas.
15 This is the size you must make it: It shall be (150 yards/135 meters) long, (25 yards/22.5 meters) wide, and (15 yards/13.5 meters) high.
Ug buhaton mo kini sa ingon niini nga paagi: ang katas-on sa arca totolo ka gatus ka maniko; ang iyang kalapdon kalim-an ka maniko; ug ang iyang kahabugon, katloan ka maniko.
16 Make a roof for the boat. Leave a space of about (18 in./.5 meter) between the sides and the roof to let air and light enter (OR, the middle of the roof should be 18 inches higher than the sides). Build the boat with three decks inside, and put a door in one side.
Magbuhat ka ug usa ka gawang sa arca, ug humanon mo kini sa usa ka maniko ang kahabugon ngadto sa ibabaw; ug ibutang mo sa luyo ang pultahan sa arca, ug buhatan mo ug totolo ka hunta-hunta, nga may salog sa ilalum sa ikaduha ug ikatolong hunta.
17 Listen carefully! I am about to cause a flood to occur that will destroy every creature that lives beneath the sky. Everything on the earth will die.
Ug ako, ania karon, ako magdala ug lunop sa mga tubig sa ibabaw sa yuta aron sa paglaglag sa tanan nga unod nga adunay gininhawa sa kinabuhi gikan sa ilalum sa langit; ang tanan nga anaa sa yuta mangamatay.
18 But I will make an agreement with you(sg): You and your wife, your sons and their wives will enter the boat.
Apan pagabuhaton ko ang akong saad uban kanimo, ug magasulod ka sa arca, ikaw ug ang imong mga anak nga lalake, ug ang imong asawa ug ang mga asawa sa imong mga anak uban kanimo.
19 And I want to save some of all kinds of creatures. So you must also bring two of all living creatures, a male and a female, into the boat with you, so that their species also may remain alive.
Ug ang tanang butang nga may kinabuhi sa tanan nga unod, duruha sa tagsa ka dagway isulod mo sa arca, aron mangabuhi sila uban kanimo; kinahanglan sila nga mga lake ug mga baye.
20 Two of every kind of creature will come to [in order that by your putting them in the boat] you will keep them alive. They will include two of each kind of bird and each kind of animal and each kind of creature that scurries across the ground.
Sa mga langgam ingon sa ilang matang, ug sa mga vaca ingon sa ilang matang, sa tanang mga mananap nga nagakamang sa yuta ingon sa ilang matang. Duruha sa tagsa ka dagway magasulod uban kanimo aron mabuhi sila.
21 You must also take some of every kind of food that you and all these animals will need, and store it in the boat.”
Ug magdala ikaw uban kanimo sa tanan nga kalan-on nga ginakaon, ug tigumon mo kini diha kanimo. Ug kini mahimo nga kalan-on alang kanimo ug alang kanila.
22 So Noah did everything that God told him to do.
Ug kini gibuhat ni Noe. Gibuhat niya sumala sa tanan nga gisugo sa Dios kaniya.
