Ezekiel 6

1 Yahweh gave me another message. He said,

Pea naʻe hoko mai kiate au ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova, ʻo pehē,

2 “You human, turn toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy [what will happen to] them, and say,

“Foha ʻoe tangata, fakahangatonu ho mata ki he ngaahi moʻunga ʻo ʻIsileli, pea kikite ki ai,

3 ‘You mountains and hills of Israel [APO], listen to what Yahweh the Lord says to you: “I am about to [enemy soldiers with] swords to come and destroy [the shrines on] your hilltops.

Mo pehē, ʻE ngaahi moʻunga ʻo ʻIsileli, fanongo ki he folofola ʻa Sihova ko e ʻOtua; ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua, ki he ngaahi moʻunga mo e ngaahi tafungofunga mo e ngaahi vaitafe, pea ki he ngaahi teleʻa; Vakai ko au, ʻio, ko au, te u ʻomi ʻae heletā kiate kimoutolu, pea te u fakaʻauha homou ngaahi potu māʻolunga.

4 They will smash all the [for worshiping idols] and the altars for burning incense. And they will [many Israeli] people in front of those idols.

Pea ʻe liʻaki hoʻomou ngaahi feilaulauʻanga, pea ʻe maumauʻi homou ngaahi tamapua: pea te u lī hifo ʻa hoʻomou mate ʻi he ʻao ʻo homou ngaahi tamapua.

5 Their corpses will lie in front of their idols, and their bones will be scattered around their altars.

Pea te u tuku ʻae ʻangaʻanga ʻae fānau ʻa ʻIsileli ki he ʻao ʻoe ngaahi tamapua; pea te u tūtuuʻi takatakai homou hui ʻi he ngaahi feilaulauʻanga.

6 Wherever the Israelis live, their towns will be ruined, and the shrines where they worship idols will be smashed. Their altars will be completely smashed [DOU], their idols will be completely smashed [DOU], and everything that they own will become a pile of ruins.

Pea ʻe fakalala homou ngaahi kolo ʻi homou potu nofoʻanga kotoa pē, pea ʻe ngaongao homou ngaahi potu fakaʻeiʻeiki; koeʻuhi ke veteki hoʻomou ngaahi feilaulauʻanga mo liʻaki, pea maumauʻi mo fakaʻosi homou ngaahi ʻotua, pea hifi ki lalo homou ngaahi tamapua, pea fakaʻauhamālie hoʻomou ngaahi ngāue.

7 Many of their people will be killed; and then they will know that I, Yahweh, [have the power to do the things that I say that I will do].

Pea ʻe tō hifo ʻae mate tāmateʻi ʻi loto ʻiate koe, pea te mou ʻilo ko au ko Sihova.

8 But I will allow some of the Israelis to remain alive. They will escape being killed when their enemies scatter them among many other nations.

“Ka te u tuku ha toenga, koeʻuhi ke ai haʻamou niʻihi ʻe hao mei he heletā ʻi he ngaahi puleʻanga, ʻoka movetevete ʻakimoutolu ki he ngaahi fonua.

9 When that happens, in those nations to which they have been forced to go, those who have escaped from being killed will think about me. They will remember that I was very grieved because of their turning away from me [IDM] with their inner beings, and because they very much desired [IDM] to worship their idols. They will (hate/be very displeased with) themselves because of the evil and detestable things that they have done.

Pea ko kinautolu ʻoku hao ʻiate kimoutolu te nau manatu kiate au, ʻi he ngaahi puleʻanga ʻaia ʻe ʻave pōpula ki ai ʻakinautolu, ʻo kau ka fesiʻi honau loto angahala naʻe mamaʻo ʻiate au, mo honau mata naʻe sio holi pe ki honau ngaahi tamapua: pea te nau fehiʻa ʻaupito kiate kinautolu koeʻuhi ko e ngaahi kovi ʻaia kuo nau fai ʻi heʻenau ngaahi fakalielia.

10 [they will realize that] I, Yahweh, [have punished them. They will realize that] when I threatened to punish them, I surely intended [LIT] to do that.

Pea te nau ʻilo ko au ko Sihova, naʻe ʻikai te u lea vaʻinga ʻaki ʻa ʻeku pehē te u fai ʻae kovi ni kiate kinautolu.”

11 So this is what I, Yahweh the Lord, [to you, Ezekiel]: ‘Wring your hands and stamp your feet and cry [to show that you are distressed], and [about what will happen to] your Israeli people [MTY] because of all their wicked and detestable behavior. They will be killed [their enemies’] swords, they will die from hunger, and they will die from plagues.

ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; “Ke pasi ho nima pea malakaki ho vaʻe, pea ke pehē, ʻOiauē ʻae ngaahi kovi fakalielia ʻae fale ʻo ʻIsileli! He te nau tō ʻi he heletā, mo e honge, mo e mahaki fakaʻauha.

12 Those who are far [from Jerusalem] will die from plagues, those who are close [to Jerusalem] will be killed by [their enemies’] swords, and those who are still alive will die from hunger. That is how I will punish [MTY] them.

Ko ia ʻoku nofo mamaʻo ʻe mate ʻi he mahaki fakaʻauha; pea ko ia ʻoku ofi ʻe tō ʻi he heletā; pea ko ia ʻoku toe ʻi he nofo kolo ʻe mate ʻi he honge: ʻe pehē ʻeku fakahoko hoku houhau kiate kinautolu.

13 [Some of] your people’s corpses will lie among their idols around their altars, on every high hilltop and on all the mountaintops, under every big tree [DOU]—at all the places where they burned incense [honor] their idols. Then they will know that I, Yahweh, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].

Pea te nau toki ʻilo, tā ko au ko Sihova, ʻoka tuku honau kakai tāmatea fakataha mo honau ngaahi tamapua ʻo takatakai ʻi honau ngaahi ʻesifeilaulau, ʻi he potu māʻolunga kotoa pē, pea ʻi he tumuʻaki ʻoe ngaahi moʻunga, ʻi he lolo ʻakau moʻui kotoa pē, pea ʻi he lolo ʻoke lau maʻuiʻui ʻaia ne ʻatu ai ʻae namu kakala ki honau ngaahi tamapua.

14 And I will stretch out my arm and cause your entire country to become an empty wasteland, from the [in the far south] to [town in the far north]. Then they will realize that I, Yahweh, [have the power to do the things that I say that I will do].’”

‌ʻE pehē ʻa ʻeku mafao atu hoku nima kiate kinautolu, mo fakaʻauha ʻae fonua, ʻio, ʻe lahi hake ʻae lala ʻo honau ngaahi nofoʻanga, ʻi he toafa ko Tipilate; pea te nau ʻilo ai ko au ko Sihova.”
