1 Then Yahweh said to Moses/me, “Now you will see what I will do to the king [and his people]. I will powerfully [MTY] compel him to let my people go. In fact, by my power [MTY] [I will force] him to expel them from his land!”
Yehowa gblɔ na Mose be, “Azɔ la, àkpɔ nu si mawɔ Farao. Le nye alɔ sesẽ la ta, anya wo ado goe, eye le nye asi sesẽ la ta, ado mɔ wo.”
2 God also said to Moses/me, “I am Yahweh.
Mawu gagblɔ na Mose be, “Nyee nye Yehowa.
3 I am the one who appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and [told them that I] was God Almighty, but I did not [tell] them that my name [was Yahweh].
Meɖe ɖokuinye fia Abraham, Isak kple Yakob abe Mawu Ŋusẽkatãtɔ la ene, ke nye ŋkɔ, Yehowa la, nyemeyɔe na wo o.
4 I also made my solemn agreement with them, promising to give them the Canaan region. That was the area in which they were living as foreigners.
Mewɔ nubabla tɔxɛ aɖe kpli wo. Le nubabla sia ƒe ɖoɖowo nu la, medo ŋugbe be matsɔ Kanaanyigba, afi si wonɔ abe amedzrowo ene la na wo.
5 Furthermore, I have heard the Israeli people as they were groaning [because of the hard work that] the Egyptians forced them to do as their slaves. I have thought about that solemn promise [that I made].
“Gawu la, mese Israelviwo ƒe konyifafa esi wonye kluviwo fifia le Egipte. Meɖo ŋku nye nubabla la dzi.
6 So tell the Israeli people that [I said this: ] ‘I am Yahweh. I will free you from the burdens [of heavy work] that the Egyptians [have given you]. I will free you from being their slaves. With my great power [MTY] and by punishing them [MTY] very severely, I will save you.
“Eya ta gblɔ na Israel ƒe dzidzimeviwo be, ‘Nyee nye Yehowa, maɖe mi le Egiptetɔwo ƒe kɔkuti te, mana ablɔɖe mi tso kluvinyenye na wo me, eye maɖe mi kple alɔ sesẽ kple nukunu triakɔwo.
7 I will cause you to be my own people, and I will be your God, [the one you worship]. You will truly know that I, Yahweh your God, am the one who has freed you from the burdens [of work as slaves] of the Egyptians.
Maxɔ mi abe nye amewo ene, manye miaƒe Mawu, mianyae be nyee nye Yehowa, miaƒe Mawu, ame si ɖe mi tso Egiptetɔwo ƒe asi me,
8 And I will bring you to the land that I solemnly promised to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. You will possess it [forever]. I, Yahweh, am [promising this].’”
eye makplɔ mi ayi anyigba si mekɔ asi dzi ka atam be matsɔ na Abraham, Isak kple Yakob la dzi. Matsɔe na mi wòazu mia tɔ. Nyee nye Yehowa.’”
9 Moses/I told that to the Israeli people, but they did not believe what he/I said. They were very discouraged [IDM] because of the hard work [that they had been forced to do as slaves].
Mose gblɔ nya siawo na Israelviwo, ke womeɖo toe o, le woƒe dziɖeleameƒo kple ŋutasesẽ kple kluvimenɔnɔ ta.
10 Yahweh said to Moses/me,
Yehowa gaƒo nu na Mose, gblɔ nɛ bena,
11 “Go and tell the king of Egypt [again] that he must allow the Israeli people to leave his land!”
“Gayi Farao, Egipte fia gbɔ eye nàgblɔ nɛ be, ele be wòaɖe asi le Israelviwo ŋu woadzo le eƒe anyigba dzi.”
12 But Moses/I said to Yahweh, “Listen [to what I am saying]. [Even] the Israeli people have not paid attention to what I [told them]. But I am a poor speaker. [MET, MTY] So (why should the king pay attention to what I tell him?/the king will certainly not pay attention to what I [tell him]!)” [RHQ]
Ke Mose ɖe ɖeklemi Yehowa hegblɔ be, “Kpɔ ɖa, ne Israelviwo maɖo tom o la, aleke Farao ya aɖo tom, elabena nyemenye nuƒola nyui hã o.”
13 But Yahweh spoke to Aaron and Moses/me and commanded them/us, “Tell the Israeli people and the king of Egypt that I have [commissioned you two] to lead the Israeli people out of Egypt.”
Tete Yehowa ɖe gbe na Mose kple Aron tso Israelviwo kple Farao, Egipte fia ŋu gblɔ na wo be woakplɔ Israelviwo ado goe tso Egipte.
14 (Here is/I will now give you) a list of the ancestors of [Moses/me and Aaron]: The sons of Reuben, who was Jacob’s oldest son, [were] Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi. They were [ancestors of] the clans [that have those same names].
Ame siwo nye ƒometatɔ na Israel ƒe to vovovoawoe nye: Ruben, Israel ƒe viŋutsu tsitsitɔ ƒe viwo: Hanok, Palu, Hezron, Karmi. Esiawoe nye Reuben ƒe towo.
15 The sons of Simeon [were] Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul. Shaul’s mother was a woman from the Canaan people-group. Those men also were [ancestors of] clans [that have those same names].
Simeon ƒe viwoe nye: Yemuel, Yamin, Ohad, Yakin, Zohar, Saul, ame si dada nye Kanaan nyɔnu. Esiawoe nye Simeon ƒe towo.
16 These are the names of the sons of Levi, in the order in which they were born: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. Levi was 137 years old [when he died].
Ame siwo nye ƒometatɔ na Levi ƒe ƒome la ƒe ŋkɔwoe nye esiawo le woƒe tsitsi nu. Gerson, Kohat kple Merari. Levi nɔ agbe ƒe alafa ɖeka blaetɔ̃-vɔ-adre.
17 The sons of Gershon [were] Libni and Shimei. They were ancestors of clans that have those names.
Gerson ƒe viwoe nye: Libni, Simei kple woƒe hlɔ̃wo.
18 The sons of Kohath [were] Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. Kohath was 133 years old [when he died].
Kohat ƒe viwo: Amram, Izhar, Hebron kple Uziel. Kohat nɔ agbe ƒe alafa ɖeka blaetɔ̃-vɔ-etɔ̃.
19 The sons of Merari [were] Mahli and Mushi. All of those people whose names [I have listed] belonged to tribes/clans descended from Levi, in the order in which they were born.
Merari ƒe viwo: Mahli kple Musi. Ame siwo ŋkɔ woyɔ va yi la tso Levi ƒe ƒome me, eye woɖo wo ɖe tsitsi nu.
20 Amram married his father’s sister, Jochebed. She was the mother of Aaron and Moses/me. Amram was 137 years old [when he died].
Amram ɖe Yoxebed, fofoa nɔvinyɔnu; wo viwoe nye Mose kple Aron. Amram nɔ agbe ƒe alafa ɖeka blaetɔ̃-vɔ-adre.
21 The sons of Izhar were Korah, Nepheg, and Zichri.
Izhar ƒe viwo: Korah, Nefeg kple Zikri.
22 The sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan, and Sithri.
Uziel ƒe viwo: Misael, Elzafan kple Sitri.
23 Aaron married Elisheba. She was the daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon. Elisheba gave birth to [four sons]: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
Aron ɖe Eliseba, Aminadab ƒe vinyɔnu kple Nahson nɔvinyɔnu. Wo viwoe nye, Nadab, Abihu, Eleaza kple Itamar.
24 The sons of Korah [were] Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph. They were the ancestors of the Korah people-group.
Korah ƒe viwoe nye: Asir, Elkana kple Abiasaf. Ame siawoe wɔ ƒome siwo tso Korah ƒe hlɔ̃ me.
25 Aaron’s son Eleazar married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she gave birth to Phinehas. [That ends the list of] the families and clans that were descended from Levi.
Aron ƒe viŋutsu, Eleaza, ɖe Pituel ƒe vinyɔnuwo dometɔ ɖeka, eye Finehas nye viawo dometɔ ɖeka. Esiawoe nye Levitɔwo ƒe ƒomewo ƒe tatɔwo ƒe ŋkɔwo katã kple ƒome siwo nɔ hlɔ̃awo me.
26 Aaron and Moses/I were the ones to whom Yahweh said, “Lead all the families and clans of the Israeli people out of Egypt.”
Aron kple Mose, siwo ƒe ŋkɔwo woyɔ ɖe dzidzimegbalẽ sia me la nye: Aron kple Mose, ame siwo Yehowa gblɔ na be, “Mikplɔ Israelviwo katã dzoe le Egiptenyigba dzi.”
27 They/We were the ones who spoke to the king of Egypt about bringing the Israeli people out of Egypt.
Woawoe yi Egipte fia Farao gbɔ be yewoabia mɔ hena Israelviwo kpɔkplɔ dzoe le Egiptenyigba la dzi, wonye Mose kple Aron.
28 On the day that Yahweh spoke to Moses/me in Egypt,
Azɔ esi Yehowa ƒo nu na Mose le Egipte la,
29 he said, “I am Yahweh. You must tell the king everything that I say to you.”
egblɔ nɛ be, “Nyee nye Yehowa. Gblɔ nya sia nya si megblɔ na wò la na Egipte fia Farao.”
30 But Moses/I said to Yahweh, “Listen to me. I am not a good speaker. [MET, MTY] So (the king will certainly not pay attention to what I say/why should the king pay attention to what I tell him?)!” [RHQ]
Ke Mose gblɔ na Yehowa be, “Aleke Farao aɖo tom esi nyemenya nuƒoƒo o?”
