Exodus 26
1 “[Tell the people to] make the Sacred Tent using ten long strips of fine linen. They must take blue, purple, and red thread (OR, weave the strips from blue, purple, and red thread), and [a skilled craftsman] must embroider these strips with [designs that represent] the winged creatures [that are above the chest].
“Pea te ke ngaohi foki ʻae fale fehikitaki mo e puipui ʻe hongofulu ʻaki ʻae tupenu tuʻovalevale, mo e lanu moana, mo e paʻuhiʻuhi, mo e kulaʻahoʻaho: mo e selupimi kuo ngaohi fakapotopoto.
2 Each strip is to be (14 yards/twelve meters) long and (2 yards/1.8 meters) wide.
Ko hono lōloa ʻoe puipui ʻe taha, ko e hanga ʻe nimangofulu ma ono, mo hono māukupu ʻoe puipui pe taha ko e hanga ʻe valu: pea ʻe fuofua tatau pe ʻae ngaahi puipui kotoa pē.
3 [Tell them to] sew five strips together to make one set, and sew the other five strips together to make another set.
Pea ko e puipui ʻe nima ʻe fakahoko ʻae taha ki he taha; pea ko e puipui kehe ʻe nima ʻe fakahoko ʻae taha ki he taha.
4 For each set, [they must] make loops of blue [cloth] and fasten them along the outer edge of the strip, at the end of each set.
Pea te ke ngaohi ʻae ngaahi kavei lanumoana ki he kapa ʻoe puipui ʻe taha mei he kapa ʻi he hokoʻanga; pea ke fai pehē pe, ʻi he kapa ʻoe puipui ʻe taha, ʻi he hokoʻanga ʻo hono ua.
5 [They must] put 50 loops on the edge of the first set, and 50 loops on the edge of the second set.
Ke ke ngaohi ʻae kavei ʻe nimangofulu ki he puipui ʻe taha, pea mo e kavei ʻe nimangofulu ki he kapa ʻoe puipui ʻoku ʻi he hokoʻanga ʻo hono ua: koeʻuhi ke fehokotaki ia.
6 [Tell them to] make 50 gold clasps/fasteners, to fasten both of the sets together. As a result, the inside of the Sacred Tent will be [as though it was] one piece.
Pea ke ngaohi ʻae fakamaʻu koula ʻe nimangofulu, ke fakahoko ʻaki ʻae puipui pea ʻe hoko ia ko e fale fehikitaki pe taha.
7 Also, [tell them to] make a cover for the Sacred Tent from eleven pieces of cloth made from goats’ hair.
“Pea te ke ngaohi ʻae ngaahi puipui mei he fulufuluʻi kosi ke fakapulonga ʻaki ʻae fale fehikitaki: ke ke ngaohi ʻae puipui ʻe hongofulu ma taha.
8 Each piece of cloth is to be (15 yards/13.5 meters) long and (2 yards/1.8 meters) wide.
Ko hono lōloa ʻoe puipui ʻe taha ko e hanga ʻe onongofulu, mo hono māukupu ʻo ia, ko e hanga ʻe valu: pea ʻe fua tatau pe ʻae puipui ʻe hongofulu ma taha.
9 [Tell them to] sew five of these pieces of cloth together to make one set, and sew the other six pieces of cloth together to make another set. [They] must fold the sixth piece [of cloth] in half to make it double over the front of the Sacred Tent.
Pea ke hokohoko ʻae puipui ʻe nima ke taha pe, mo e puipui ʻe ono ke fakataha, pea ke peluki hono ono ʻoe puipui ʻi he ʻao ʻoe mata fale fehikitaki.
10 [Tell them to] make 100 loops [of blue cloth], and to fasten 50 of them to the outer edge of the one set and fasten 50 to the outer edge of the other set.
Pea te ke ngaohi ʻae kavei ʻe nimangofulu ʻi he kapa ʻoe puipui ʻe taha ʻaia ʻoku ʻituʻa ʻi he hokoʻanga, mo e kavei ʻe nimangofulu ʻi he kapa ʻoe puipui ʻoku hokohoko ki hono ua.
11 [Tell them to] make fifty bronze clasps/fasteners and put them in the cloth loops to join the two sets together. As a result, the cover for the Sacred Tent will be [as though it was] one piece.
Pea te ke ngaohi ʻae fakamaʻu palasa ʻe nimangofulu, pea ʻai ʻae fakamaʻu ki he ngaahi kavei, ʻo hokohoko ʻaki ʻae fakapulonga, ke hoko ʻo taha pe ia.
12 [Let] the extra part of the cover, the part that extends beyond [the linen cloth], hang over the back of the Sacred Tent.
Pea ko hono konga ʻoku toe ʻi he puipui ʻoe fale fehikitaki, ko e vaeua ʻoe puipui ʻoku toe ʻe tautau pe ia ʻituʻa ʻi he tuʻafale.
13 The extra half yard/meter of each cover, the part that extends beyond [the linen cloth] on each side, must hang over the two sides of the Sacred Tent, to protect the sides.
Pea ko e hanga ʻe ua ʻi he faʻahi ʻe taha, mo e hanga ʻe ua ʻi he faʻahi ʻe taha ʻo ia, ʻoku toe ʻi hono lōloa ʻoe ngaahi puipui ʻoe fale fehikitaki, ʻe tāupe ia ki hono faʻahi ʻe ua ʻoe fale ʻi he potu ni, mo e potu na ke ʻufiʻufi ia.
14 [Tell them to] make two more covers for the Sacred Tent. One is to be made from rams’ skins that have been (tanned/dyed red), and the top cover is to be made from goatskin leather.”
“Pea te ke ngaohi ʻae meʻa fakapulonga ki he fale fehikitaki ʻaki ʻae ngaahi kili ʻoe sipitangata kuo tuku kula, mo e meʻa fakapulonga ʻe taha kituʻa ʻi he ngaahi kiliʻi pasa.
15 “[Tell them to] make frames from acacia wood, frames that will be set up [from which to hang the Sacred Tent covers].
“Pea te ke ngaohi ʻae ngaahi laupapa ki he fale fehikitaki mei he ʻakau ko e sitimi ke tuʻu tonu.
16 Each frame is to be (five yards/four meters) long and (27 in./66 cm.) wide.
Ko hono lōloa ʻoe laupapa ko e hanga ʻe uofulu, mo e hanga ʻe tolu ʻa hono māukupu ʻoe laupapa pe taha.
17 [They] must make two projections at the bottom of each frame. These will be to fasten the frames to the bases underneath them. They must make these projections at the bottom of each frame.
Ke ua hono hokoʻanga ʻi he laupapa pe taha, ke tuʻu hangatonu atu pe ʻae taha ki he taha: pea ke fai pehē pe ki he laupapa kotoa pē ʻoe fale fehikitaki.
18 Make 20 frames for the south side of the Sacred Tent.
Pea te ke ngaohi ʻae ngaahi laupapa ki he fale fehikitaki, ko e laupapa ʻe uofulu ki he feituʻu tonga ke hanga ki tonga.
19 [Tell them to] make 40 silver bases to go underneath them. Two bases will go under each frame. The projections [at the bottom] of each frame are [to be made] to fit into the bases.
Pea ke ngaohi ʻae tuʻunga siliva ʻe fāngofulu ki lalo ʻi he laupapa ʻe uofulu: ko e tuʻunga ʻe ua ki lalo ʻi he laupapa ʻe taha, ki hono mui potu ʻe ua, mo e tuʻunga ʻe ua ʻi lalo ʻi he laupapa ʻe taha ki hono mui potu ʻe ua.
20 [Similarly], [tell them to] make twenty frames for the north side of the Sacred Tent.
Pea ki hono potu fakatokelau ʻoe fale fehikitaki ʻe ʻai ʻae laupapa ʻe uofulu.
21 [They] must make 40 silver bases for them also, with two bases to be put under each frame.
Mo honau tuʻunga siliva ʻe fāngofulu; ko e tuʻunga ʻe ua ʻi lalo ʻi he laupapa ʻe taha, mo e tuʻunga ʻe ua ʻi lalo ʻi he laupapa ʻe taha.
22 For the rear of the Sacred Tent, on the west side, [tell them to] make six frames.
Pea ke ngaohi ʻae laupapa ʻe ono ki he potu fale fehikitaki ki he toʻangalaʻā.
23 Also, [tell them to] make two extra frames, one for each corner of the rear of the Sacred Tent, [to provide extra support].
Pea te ke ngaohi ʻae laupapa ʻe ua ki he tuliki ʻoe fale fehikitaki ʻi hono faʻahi ʻe ua.
24 The two corner frames must be joined from the bottom to the top (OR, joined at both the bottom and the top). At the top of each of the two corner frames there must be a gold ring for holding the crossbar.
Pea ʻe hokohoko ia ʻi lalo, pea ʻe hokohoko ia ʻi ʻolunga ʻi he ʻulu ʻo ia ki hono kavei ʻe taha: ʻe fai pehē ki ai fakatouʻosi: ko e ongo tuliki ia.
25 In that way, [for the rear of the Sacred Tent] there will be eight frames, and there will be 16 bases, two under each frame.
Pea ko e laupapa ʻe valu ia, mo honau ngaahi tuʻunga siliva, ko e tuʻunga ʻe hongofulu ma ono; ko e tuʻunga ʻe ua ʻi lalo ʻi he laupapa ʻe taha, mo e tuʻunga ʻe ua ʻi lalo ʻi he laupapa ʻe taha.
26 [Tell them to] make 15 crossbars from acacia wood.
“Pea te ke ngaohi ʻae ngaahi ʻakau fakalava mei he ʻakau ko e sitimi; ko e nima ki he ngaahi laupapa ʻi he potu ʻe taha ʻoe fale fehikitaki,
27 Five of them will be for the frames on the north side of the Sacred Tent, five will be for the south side, and five for the frames at the rear of the Sacred Tent, the west side.
Pea ko e ʻakau fakalava ʻe nima ki he ngaahi laupapa ʻi he potu ʻe taha ʻoe fale fehikitaki, pea ko e ʻakau fakalava ʻe nima ki he ngaahi laupapa ʻoe potu ʻoe fale fehikitaki, ki he potu ʻe ua ki he toʻangalaʻā.
28 Tell them to fasten the crossbars on the north, south, and west sides of the Sacred Tent to the middle of the frames. The two long ones must extend from one end of the Sacred Tent to the other, and the crossbar on the west side must extend from one side of the Sacred Tent to the other.
Pea ko e ʻakau fakalava ʻi loto ʻi he ngaahi laupapa, ʻe tau ia ʻi he potu ʻe taha ʻo aʻu ki he potu ʻe taha.
29 [Tell them to] cover the frames with gold, and make gold rings to fasten the crossbars to the frames. The crossbars must [also] be covered with gold.
Pea te ke ʻaofi ʻae ngaahi laupapa ʻaki ʻae koula, pea ngaohi ʻaki ʻae koula honau ngaahi kavei, ke ʻai ki ai ʻae ʻakau fakalava: pea ke ʻaofi ʻae ngaahi ʻakau fakalava ʻaki ʻae koula.
30 Erect the Sacred Tent in the way that I have shown you [here] on [this] mountain.”
Pea te ke fokotuʻu hake ʻae fale fehikitaki ʻo fakatatau ki he fakatātā ko ia ʻaia naʻe fakahā kiate koe ʻi he moʻunga.
31 “[Tell them to] make a curtain from fine linen. A skilled craftsman must embroider it with blue, purple, and red yarn/thread, making [designs to represent] the winged creatures [that are above the chest].
“Pea te ke ngaohi ʻae puipui ʻaki ʻae lanumoana, mo e paʻuhiʻuhi, mo e kulaʻahoʻaho, mo e tupenu tuʻovalevale, ʻi he ngāue fakapotopoto: pea ʻe ngaohi ki ai ʻae selupimi:
32 [Tell them to] suspend/hang the curtain from four posts made from acacia wood and covered with gold. Set [each] post in a silver base.
Pea ke tautau ia ki he pou ʻe fā ʻoe ʻakau ko e sitimi kuo ʻaofi ʻaki ʻae koula; ko e koula pe honau ngaahi tautauʻanga, ki honau tuʻunga siliva ʻe fā.
33 [They] must suspend/hang the [top of the] curtain by hooks that are fastened to the roof of the Sacred Tent. Behind the curtain, in the [room called the] Very Holy Place, [they] must put the chest containing the [two stone slabs on which I have written my] commandments. That curtain will separate the Holy Place from the Very Holy Place.
“Pea te ke tautau ʻae puipui ʻi lalo ʻi he ngaahi fakamaʻu, koeʻuhi ke ke ʻomi ki ai ki he loto puipui ʻae puha ʻoe fuakava: pea ʻe vaheʻi kiate kimoutolu ʻe he puipui ʻae Potu Tapu mei he Potu Toputapu ʻaupito.
34 On top of the chest in the Very Holy Place [they] must put the lid which will be the place where [blood will be sprinkled to] forgive people’s sins.
Pea te ke hili ʻae nofoʻanga ʻaloʻofa ki he funga puha ʻoe fuakava ʻi he Potu Toputapu ʻaupito.
35 [In the room that is] outside of the Very Holy Place, [they] must put the table [for the sacred] bread on the north side, and put the lampstand on the south side.
Pea te ke tuku ʻae palepale ʻituʻa ʻi he puipui, mo e tuʻunga maama ke tuʻu ʻo hanga tonu atu ki he palepale ʻi he faʻahi ʻoe fale fehikitaki ʻoku hanga ki tonga: pea te ke tuku ʻae palepale ʻi he potu tokelau.
36 [Tell them to] make a curtain to [cover] the entrance of the Sacred Tent. They must make it from fine linen, and a skilled weaver must embroider it with blue, purple, and red yarn/thread.
Pea te ke ngaohi ʻae meʻa tautau ki he matapā ʻoe fale fehikitaki, ʻoe lanumoana, mo e paʻuhiʻuhi, mo e kulaʻahoʻaho, mo e tupenu tuʻovalevale, kuo ngaohi ʻaki ʻae tuitui poto.
37 To hold up this curtain, [they] must make five posts from acacia wood. [They] must cover them with gold, and fasten gold clasps/fasteners to them. Also [they] must make a bronze base for each of these posts.”
Pea te ke ngaohi ki he meʻa tautau ʻae pou ʻakau sitimi ʻe nima, ʻo ʻaofi ia ʻaki ʻae koula, pea ʻe koula mo honau tautauʻanga: pea te ke haka ki ai ʻae tuʻunga palasa ʻe nima.
