Daniel 7
1 [Previously, ] during the first year that Belshazzar was the king of Babylonia, I had a dream and a vision one night as I lay on my bed. [The next morning] I wrote down what I had dreamed. This is what I wrote:
இவற்றிற்கு முன், பாபிலோன் அரசன் பெல்ஷாத்சாரின் ஆட்சியின் முதலாவது வருடத்தில், தானியேல் ஒரு கனவு கண்டிருந்தான். அவன் படுத்திருக்கும்போது, அவனுடைய மனதில் தரிசனங்கள் கடந்துசென்றன. அவன் தான் கண்ட கனவின் சுருக்கத்தை எழுதிவைத்தான்.
2 I, Daniel, had a vision last night. In the vision I saw that strong winds were blowing from all four directions, stirring up [the water in] the ocean.
தானியேல் சொன்னதாவது: அந்த இரவில், என் தரிசனத்தில், வானத்தின் நான்கு காற்றுகள் வீசி மாபெருங்கடலை கொந்தளிக்கச் செய்துகொண்டிருந்ததைக் கண்டேன்.
3 Then [I saw] four beasts coming out of the ocean. All four of them were different.
அப்பொழுது நான்கு பெரிய விலங்குகள் கடலில் இருந்து மேலே வெளியேறின. அவை ஒன்றிலிருந்து மற்றது வித்தியாசமான உருவமுள்ளனவாய் இருந்தன.
4 The first one resembled a lion, but it had wings like an eagle has. But as I watched, something tore off its wings {its wings were pulled off}. The beast was left there, standing on its two hind/rear legs, like a human being stands. And it was given a mind like humans have.
முதலாவது விலங்கு சிங்கத்தைப்போன்றது; அதற்குக் கழுகின் சிறகுகள் இருந்தன. நான் கவனித்துப்பார்க்கையில், அந்தக் கழுகின் சிறகுகள் பிடுங்கப்பட்டு, அது நிலத்திலிருந்து மேலே தூக்கப்பட்டது. அப்பொழுது அது ஒரு மனிதனைப்போல் இரண்டு கால்களையும் ஊன்றி நின்றது. அதற்கு ஒரு மனிதனுடைய இருதயமும் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.
5 The second beast resembled a bear. It was crouching, and it held between its teeth three ribs [from another animal that it had killed and eaten]. Someone said to it {It was told}, “Stand up and eat as much meat [as you want]!”
அங்கே எனக்கு முன்பாக இரண்டாவது மிருகம் நின்றது. அது கரடியைப்போல் காணப்பட்டது. அதன் ஒரு பக்கம் உயர்ந்திருக்கக் காணப்பட்டது. அதன் வாயில் பற்களுக்கிடையில் மூன்று விலா எலும்புகள் இருந்தன. அப்பொழுது, “எழுந்திரு, போதுமான அளவு மாம்சம் சாப்பிடு என்று அதற்குச் சொல்லப்பட்டது.”
6 Then I saw in front of me the third of those beasts. It resembled a leopard, but it had four wings protruding from its back. The wings were like a bird’s wings. It had four heads. It was given the power/authority to rule [people].
அதன்பின்பு நான் பார்க்கையில் எனக்கு முன்பாக வேறொரு மிருகம் இருந்தது. அது சிறுத்தையைப்போல் இருந்தது. பறவையின் இறகுகளைப்போன்ற நான்கு சிறகுகள் அதன் முதுகின் பின்புறத்தில் இருந்தன. அந்த மிருகத்திற்கு நான்கு தலைகள் இருந்தன. ஆளுவதற்கான அதிகாரம் அதற்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.
7 In the vision I saw a fourth beast. It was stronger than the other beasts, and it was more terrifying. It crushed other creatures with its huge iron teeth and ate their flesh. The parts of animals that it did not grind with its teeth, it trampled [on the ground]. It was different from the other three beasts: It had ten horns [on its head].
அந்த இரவிலே, எனது தரிசனத்தில் எனக்கு முன்பாக நான்காவது மிருகத்தையும் கண்டேன். அதுவோ திகிலூட்டுவதாகவும், பயங்கரமானதாகவும், மிகவும் வல்லமையுடையதாகவும் இருந்தது. பெரிய இரும்புப் பற்கள் அதற்கு இருந்தன. அது தனக்கு அகப்பட்டதை நசுக்கி சின்னாபின்னமாக்கி விழுங்கியது. எஞ்சியதைத் தனது கால்களால் மிதித்துப்போட்டது. அது முன்பு காணப்பட்ட மிருகங்களையும்விட, வித்தியாசமானதாய் இருந்தது. அதற்கு பத்து கொம்புகள் இருந்தன.
8 While I was looking at those horns, I saw a little horn appear [on the head of that beast]. It tore out three of the other horns. This little horn had eyes like humans have, and it had a mouth [with which it spoke] very boastfully.
நான் அந்தக் கொம்புகளைப்பற்றி யோசித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், அங்கே எனக்கு முன்பாக அவற்றிற்கு நடுவில் வேறொரு சிறிய கொம்பு எழும்பிற்று. அப்பொழுது முன்பிருந்த கொம்புகளில் மூன்று பிடுங்கப்பட்டன. அந்தச் சிறிய கொம்பில் மனிதனுடைய கண்களைப்போன்ற கண்களும், பெருமையாய் பேசும் வாயும் இருந்தன.
9 [Then] while I watched, thrones were put in the places [where they belonged], and [God], the one who had been living forever, sat on one of the thrones. His clothes were as white as snow, and his hair was as white as pure/clean wool. His throne had wheels that were blazing with fire, and his throne was [also] blazing.
நான் தொடர்ந்து பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், அந்த இடத்தில் அரியணைகள் அமைக்கப்பட்டன. அதன் நடுவில் பூர்வீகத்திலுள்ளவர் அமர்ந்திருந்தார். அவரது உடை உறைந்த பனியைப்போல் வெண்மையாயிருந்தது. அவருடைய தலைமயிர் தூய்மையான பஞ்சைப்போல் வெண்மையாய் இருந்தது. அவரது அரியணை கொழுந்துவிட்டெரிகிற நெருப்பினால் சுடர் விட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தது. அதன் சக்கரங்கள் கொழுந்து விட்டெரிந்தன.
10 A fire was rushing out of in front of him like a stream. Many thousands [of people] (OR, [angels]) [were there] serving him, and millions [of other people] (OR, [angels]) were standing in front of him. They started (the court session/judging people), and they opened the books [in which they had written the record of all the good and bad things that people had done].
அவர் முன்னிலையிலிருந்து நெருப்பு ஆறு ஒன்று எழும்பி ஓடிக்கொண்டிருந்தது. ஆயிரம் ஆயிரமானவர்கள் அவருக்குப் பணிபுரிந்தார்கள். கோடிக்கணக்கானோர் அவர்முன் நின்றார்கள். நீதிமன்றம் கூட்டப்பட்டது. புத்தகங்கள் திறக்கப்பட்டன.
11 While I was watching, I could hear the little horn speaking very boastfully. As I [continued to] watch, the [fourth] beast was killed. Its corpse was thrown into a fire and completely burned.
“அதன்பின் அந்த சிறிய கொம்பு பெருமையான வார்த்தைகளைப் பேசிக்கொண்டிருந்ததால், நான் தொடர்ந்து கவனித்துப் பார்த்தேன். அந்த மிருகம் கொலைசெய்யப்பட்டு, அதன் உடல் அழிக்கப்பட்டு நெருப்பு ஜூவாலையில் எறியப்படும்வரையும், நான் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தேன்.
12 The power/authority of the other [three] beasts was taken away from them, but they were allowed to continue to live for a while.
மற்ற மிருகங்களிடமிருந்தோ அவற்றின் அதிகாரம் பறிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது. ஆயினும் அவை குறிப்பிட்ட காலத்திற்கு வாழும்படி அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டன.
13 While I [continued to] see the vision that night, I saw someone who resembled a human being. He was coming [closer to me], surrounded by clouds. Then he was taken to [God], the one who had been living forever.
“அந்த இரவிலே எனது தரிசனத்தில் நான் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், அங்கே எனக்கு முன்பாக வானத்தின் மேகங்களுடன் மனித குமாரனைப்போன்ற ஒருவர் வந்துகொண்டிருந்தார். அவர் பூர்வீகத்தில் உள்ளவரிடத்தின் அருகே வர, அவருக்கு முன்பாக அழைத்துச் செல்லப்பட்டார்.
14 He was honored and given great authority to rule over all the nations in the world, in order that people from every people-group and every nation, people from all language groups, would worship/serve him. He will rule forever; he will never stop ruling. The kingdom that he rules will never be destroyed.
அவருக்கு அதிகாரமும், மகிமையும், ஆளுமையும், வல்லமையும் கொடுக்கப்பட்டன. எல்லா மக்களும், நாடுகளும், பல்வேறு மொழிகளைப் பேசும் மனிதரும் அவரை வழிபட்டனர். அவரது ஆளுகை ஒழிந்துபோகாத ஆளுகை, அது என்றென்றும் நிலைத்திருக்கும். அவரது அரசு ஒருபோதும் அழிந்துபோகாது.
15 As for me, Daniel, I was very terrified by what I had seen in that vision, and I did not know what to think about it.
“தானியேலாகிய நான் எனது ஆவியில் கலங்கியிருந்தேன், என் மனதின் வழியாகக் கடந்துசென்ற தரிசனங்கள் என்னைக் கலக்கமடையச்செய்தன.
16 I went to one of those who were standing in front of the throne of God, and I asked him to tell me what it meant. So he told me the meaning of it.
அரியணையின் அருகில் நின்றவர்களில் ஒருவனை நான் அணுகி, இவற்றின் உண்மையான விளக்கத்தைக் கேட்டேன். “அப்போது அவன் எனக்கு அவற்றின் விளக்கத்தைச் சொன்னான்.
17 [He said], “The four huge beasts represent four kingdoms/empires that will exist on the earth.
அந்த நான்கு பெரிய மிருகங்களும், பூமியிலிருந்து தோன்றப்போகும் நான்கு அரசுகள்.
18 But the Supreme God will give power/authority to his people [to rule], and they shall rule forever.”
இருந்தாலும் மகா உன்னதமானவரின் பரிசுத்தவான்களே அரசைப்பெற்று, அதை என்றென்றைக்கும் உரிமையாக்கிக்கொள்வார்கள். ஆம், என்றென்றைக்கும் உரிமையாக்கிக்கொள்வார்கள்.
19 Then I wanted to know what the fourth beast signified—[the beast] that was different from the other three, the beast that crushed [those that it attacked] with its bronze claws, and [then] ate [their flesh] with its iron teeth, and trampled on the parts of their bodies [that it did not eat].
“அதன் பின்னர் நான்காவது மிருகத்தைப்பற்றிய உண்மையான விளக்கத்தை அறிய விரும்பினேன். இந்த மிருகம் மற்ற எல்லாவற்றிலும் வித்தியாசமானதும், மிகுந்த பயங்கரமானதும், இரும்புப் பற்களையுடையதும், வெண்கல நகங்களையுடையதுமாயிருந்தது. தனக்கு அகப்பட்டதைப் நசித்து சின்னாபின்னமாக்கி, தான் விழுங்கியதுபோக எஞ்சியதைத் தன் காலின்கீழ் போட்டு மிதித்தது.
20 [I also wanted to know about] the ten horns on its head, and about the horn that appeared later, which got rid of three of the other horns. [I wanted to know what it meant that] it had eyes and a mouth with which it spoke very boastfully. [The beast that was represented by] that horn was more terrifying than the other beasts.
அதோடு அதன் தலையிலிருந்த பத்துக்கொம்புகளைப் பற்றியும், முளைத்த மற்ற கொம்பைப்பற்றியும் அறிய விரும்பினேன். முன்பிருந்த மூன்று கொம்புகளையும் விழப்பண்ணின இந்தக் கொம்பு, மற்றதைவிடப் பெலமுடையதாய்க் காணப்பட்டது. அதற்கு கண்களும், பெருமை பேசும் வாயும் இருந்தன.
21 While I was having the vision, I saw that this horn attacked God’s people and was defeating them.
நான் பார்த்தபோது, அந்தக் கொம்பு இறைவனின் பரிசுத்தவான்களுக்கு எதிராகப் போரிட்டு, அவர்களைத் தோற்கடித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தது.
22 But then the Supreme God, the one who had been living forever, came and judged in favor of the people who belonged to him. And [I knew that] it was time for God’s people to receive authority [to rule].
பூர்வீகத்திலுள்ளவர் வந்து, மகா உன்னதமானவரின் பரிசுத்தவான்களின் சார்பாக நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு வழங்கும் வரைக்கும், அவர்களுக்கு அரசுரிமை கிடைக்கும் காலம் வரும்வரைக்கும் அது யுத்தம் செய்துகொண்டே இருந்தது.
23 [Then] the man who was standing there said [to me], “The fourth beast represents an empire that will exist on the earth; that [empire] will be different from all [other] empires. [The army of] that empire will crush/kill [people all over] the world and trample [on their bodies].
“எனக்கு அவன் கொடுத்த விளக்கமாவது: அந்த நான்காம் மிருகம் பூமியில் தோன்றப்போகும் நான்காம் அரசைக் குறிக்கும். அது மற்ற எல்லா அரசுகளையும்விட, வித்தியாசமானதாய் இருக்கும். அது பூமி முழுவதையும் மிதித்து, நசுக்கி விழுங்கிவிடும்.
24 As for its ten horns, they represent ten kings who will rule that empire, [one after the other]. Then another [king] will appear. He will be different from the previous kings. He will defeat the three kings [that were represented by the three horns that were pulled out].
அந்தப் பத்துக் கொம்புகளும், அந்த அரசில் இருந்து தோன்றும் அரசர்கள். அவர்களுக்குப்பின் முந்தின அரசர்களைவிட, வித்தியாசமான வேறொருவன் தோன்றுவான். அவன் அவர்களுள் மூன்று அரசர்களைத் தனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படுத்துவான்.
25 He will revile the Supreme God, and he will oppress God’s people. He will try to change the [sacred] festivals and their [religious] laws/regulations. He will control them for three and a half years.
அவன் மகா உன்னதமானவருக்கு எதிராகப் பேசுவான். அவன் அவரது பரிசுத்தவான்களை ஒடுக்கி, நியமிக்கப்பட்ட கால அட்டவணைகளையும், நீதிச்சட்டங்களையும் மாற்ற முயற்சிசெய்வான். பரிசுத்தவான்கள் அவனிடத்தில் ஒரு காலத்திற்கும், காலங்களுக்கும், அரைக் காலத்திற்கும் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படுவார்கள்.
26 But there will be a session/meeting of the court/judges in heaven, and that king’s authority/power will be taken away, and he will be completely destroyed.
“‘ஆனால், நீதிமன்றம் அமரும்; அப்போது அவனுடைய வல்லமை அவனிடமிருந்து பறிக்கப்பட்டு, என்றென்றுமாய் முழுவதும் அழிக்கப்படும்.
27 Then all the power and the greatness of all the kingdoms on the earth will be given to the people who belong to the Supreme God. The kingdom that he rules (OR, they rule) will endure forever. And the rulers of all the nations on the earth will serve and obey him (OR, them).”
வானத்தின் கீழுள்ள எல்லா அரசுகளின் ஆளுமையும், வல்லமையும், மகத்துவமும், மகா உன்னதமானவருடைய மக்களான பரிசுத்தவான்களிடம் ஒப்படைக்கப்படும். அவரது அரசு நித்திய அரசாயிருக்கும். எல்லா ஆளுநர்களும் அவரை வழிபட்டு, அவருக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிவார்கள்.’
28 That is [what I saw in] my vision/dream. I, Daniel, was terrified, with the result that my face became pale. But I did not tell anyone about the vision [that I had seen].
“இதுவே நான் கண்டவற்றின் முடிவு. ஆனால், தானியேலாகிய நான் என் சிந்தனையில் குழப்பமடைந்திருந்தேன். என்னுடைய முகம் வேறுபட்டது. என்றாலும், இவற்றை நான் என்னுடனே என் மனதிலே வைத்துக்கொண்டேன்.”
