2 Samuel 9

1 One day David asked, “Is there anyone who is a descendant of Saul to whom I can be kind?” He asked this because he wanted to honor Jonathan.

இதன்பின்பு தாவீது, “யோனத்தானுக்காக நான் தயவுகாட்டும்படி, சவுலின் குடும்பத்தில் யாராவது இன்னும் உயிரோடிருக்கிறார்களா?” என்று கேட்டான்.

2 [They told him that] there was [in Jerusalem] a man named Ziba who had been a servant of Saul’s family. So [David sent messengers to summon Ziba. When he arrived], the king asked him, “Are you Ziba?” He replied, “Yes, your majesty, I am.”

அப்பொழுது சீபா என்னும் பெயருடைய சவுலின் வீட்டுப் பணியாளன் ஒருவன் இருந்தான். அவனைத் தாவீதுக்கு முன்பாக வரும்படி அழைத்தார்கள். அரசன் அவனிடம், “நீ தானா சீபா?” என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு அவன், “உமது அடியானே தான்” என்றான்.

3 The king asked him, “Is there anyone in Saul’s family to whom I can be kind, [as I promised Jonathan that I would do]?” Ziba replied, “Yes, there is one son of Jonathan who is still [alive]. His feet are crippled.”

அரசன் அவனிடம், “இறைவனுடைய தயவை நான் காட்டும்படி சவுலின் குடும்பத்தில் ஒருவரும் இல்லையா?” என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு சீபா, “இரண்டு கால்களும் முடமான யோனத்தானின் மகன் ஒருவன் இன்னும் உயிரோடிருக்கிறான்” என்றான்.

4 The king asked him, “Where is he?” Ziba replied, “He is [living] in the house of Machir, son of Ammiel, in Lo-Debar [city east of the Jordan River].”

“அவன் எங்கே?” என அரசன் கேட்டான். அதற்கு சீபா, “அவன் லோதேபாரில் அம்மியேலின் மகன் மாகீரின் வீட்டில் இருக்கிறான்” என்றான்.

5 So King David sent [messengers] to bring Mephibosheth [to Jerusalem].

எனவே தாவீது அரசன், அம்மியேலின் மகன் மாகீரின் வீட்டிலிருந்த யோனத்தானின் மகனை லோதேபாரிலிருந்து கொண்டுவரச் செய்தான்.

6 When Mephibosheth came to David, he knelt down with his face on the ground, to show respect. Then David said, “Mephibosheth!” He replied, “Yes, your majesty, how may I serve you?”

சவுலின் மகனான யோனத்தானின் மகன் மேவிபோசேத் தாவீதிடம் வந்தபோது, முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து வணக்கம் தெரிவித்தான். அப்போது தாவீது அவனிடம், “மேவிபோசேத்தே” என்றான். அதற்கு அவன், “இதோ உமது அடியேன்” என்றான்.

7 David said to him, “Do not be afraid; I will be kind to you because Jonathan your father [was my loyal friend]. I will give back to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul. And [I want] you to always eat with me at my house [MTY].”

தாவீது அவனிடம், “பயப்படாதே; உன் தகப்பன் யோனத்தானின் நிமித்தம் நிச்சயம் உனக்கு தயவுகாட்டுவேன். உன் பாட்டன் சவுலுக்கு சொந்தமாயிருந்த நிலங்களையெல்லாம் உனக்குத் திரும்பக் கொடுப்பேன். மேலும் நீ எப்போதும் என்னுடைய பந்தியில் சாப்பிடுவாய்” என்றான்.

8 Mephibosheth bowed [in front of David again] and said, “Sir, I am [as worthless as] [MET] a dead dog; I do not deserve [RHQ] that you be kind to me!”

இதைக் கேட்ட மேவிபோசேத் தாவீதை வணங்கி, “செத்த நாய் போன்ற என்னை நீர் கவனத்தில்கொள்வதற்கு உமது அடியவன் எம்மாத்திரம்?” என்றான்.

9 Then the king summoned Saul’s servant Ziba and said to him, “Saul was your master; now I am giving to Mephibosheth everything that belonged to Saul and his family.

அதன்பின் அரசன் சவுலின் பணியாளனாயிருந்த சீபாவை அழைப்பித்து அவனிடம், “சவுலுக்கும் அவன் குடும்பத்தாருக்கும் சொந்தமாயிருந்த யாவற்றையும் உன் எஜமானின் பேரனுக்குக் கொடுத்துள்ளேன்.

10 You and your 15 sons and your 20 servants must till/plow the land for Mephibosheth’s [family], and [plant crops] and harvest them, in order that they will have food to eat. But Mephibosheth will eat food with me at my house.”

நீயும் உன் மகன்களும் உன் பணியாட்களும் அந்த நிலத்தை அவனுக்காகப் பயிரிடுங்கள். உன் எஜமானுடைய பேரனின் பராமரிப்புக்காக அதன் விளைச்சலைக் கொண்டுவாருங்கள். ஆனாலும் உன் எஜமானின் பேரன் மேவிபோசேத் எப்போதும் என்னுடைய பந்தியில் சாப்பிடுவான்” என்றான். சீபாவுக்கு பதினைந்து மகன்களும் இருபது வேலைக்காரரும் இருந்தார்கள்.

11 Ziba replied to the king, “Your majesty, I will do everything that you have commanded me to do.” So [after that], Mephibosheth always ate at the king’s table, as though he were one of the king’s sons.

அப்பொழுது சீபா அரசனிடம், “என் தலைவனாகிய அரசன் எனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டவைகளை எல்லாம் நான் நிறைவேற்றுவேன்” என்றான். எனவே மேவிபோசேத் அரசனின் மகன்களில் ஒருவனைப்போல் தாவீதின் பந்தியில் சாப்பிட்டு வந்தான்.

12 Mephibosheth had a young son named Mica. All of Ziba’s family became servants of Mephibosheth.

மேவிபோசேத்துக்கு மீகா என்னும் பெயருடைய வாலிபனான ஒரு மகன் இருந்தான். சீபாவின் குடும்பத்தார் அனைவரும் மேவிபோசேத்துக்கு பணியாட்களாயிருந்தார்கள்.

13 And Mephibosheth, who was still crippled in both of his feet, started to live in Jerusalem, and he always ate (at the king’s table/with the king).

மேவிபோசேத்துக்கு இரண்டு கால்களும் முடமாயிருந்தபடியாலும், எப்பொழுதும் அரசனுடைய பந்தியில் சாப்பிட்டபடியாலும் எருசலேமிலேயே வாழ்ந்து வந்தான்.
