1 Issachar’s four sons were Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron.
Or les fils d’Issachar furent: Thola et Phua, Jasub et Siméron; quatre.
2 Tola’s sons were Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, and Samuel (OR, Shemuel). They were all leaders of the clans [descended from] them. In the record of Tola’s descendants were the names of 22,600 men who served in the army during the time that David was the king [of Israel].
Les fils de Thola: Ozi, Raphaïa, Jériel, Jémaï, Jebsem et Samuel, princes dans les maisons de leurs familles. C’est de la race de Thola que, dans les jours de David, furent dénombrés des hommes très braves, au nombre de vingt-deux mille six cents.
3 Uzzi’s son was Izrahiah. Izrahiah’s five sons were Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Isshiah. Izrahiah and his sons were all leaders of their clans.
Les fils d’Ozi: Izrahia, duquel naquirent Michaël, Obadia, Johel et Jésia, tous cinq princes.
4 In the record of Izrahiah’s descendants were the names of 36,000 men who served in the army because they had many wives and children.
Et il y avait avec eux, dans leurs familles et leurs peuples, prêts au combat, des hommes très braves, au nombre de trente-six mille, car ils eurent beaucoup de femmes et d’enfants.
5 In the records of the clans descended from Issachar were the names of 87,000 men who served in the army.
Leurs frères aussi, dans toute la parenté d’Issachar, étaient très vigoureux pour combattre; il y en eut quatre-vingt-sept mille de dénombrés.
6 [Some of the] sons of Benjamin were Bela, Beker, and Jediael.
Les fils de Benjamin furent Béla, Béchor et Jadihel; trois,
7 Bela’s five sons were Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri. They were all leaders of clans. In the records of the clans descended from Bela there were names of 22,034 men who served in the army.
Les fils de Béla: Esbon, Ozi, Oziel, Jérimoth et Uraï; cinq princes de familles, et très vigoureux pour combattre: or leur nombre fut de vingt-deux mille et trente-quatre;
8 Beker’s sons were Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth.
Les fils de Béchor: Zamira, Joas, Eliézer, Elioénaï, Amri, Jérimoth, Abia, Anathoth et Almath: tous ceux-là furent fils de Béchor.
9 In the records of the clans descended from Beker were the names of 20,200 men and leaders of the clans who served in the army.
Or on en dénombra, selon leurs familles, comme princes dans leur parenté, très braves pour les combats, vingt mille et deux cents.
10 Jediael’s son was Bilhan. Bilhan’s sons were Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Kenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar.
De plus, les fils de Jadihel: Balan; et les fils de Balan: Jéhus, Benjamin, Aod, Chanana, Zéthan, Tharsis et Ahisahar,
11 They were all leaders of clans descended from them. There were 17,200 of them who served in the army.
Tous ceux-là furent fils de Jadihel, princes dans leur parenté, hommes très braves, au nombre de dix-sept mille et deux cents, marchant aux combats.
12 Shuppim and Huppim were descendants of Ir. [One of] the descendants of Aher was Hushim.
Sépham aussi et Hapham furent les fils de Hir; et Hasim, les fils d’Aher;
13 Naphtali’s sons were Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem. They were all descendants of [Jacob’s slave wife] Bilhah.
Mais les fils de Nephthali: Jasiel, Guni, Jéser et Sellum, fils de Bala.
14 [This is a list of] Manasseh’s descendants. Manasseh had a slave wife who was from Syria. She was the mother of Asriel and Makir. Makir was the father of Gilead.
Or le fils de Manassé fut Esriel; et sa femme du second rang, la Syrienne, enfanta Machir, père de Galaad.
15 Makir [had two wives]. They were from the clans of Huppim and Shuppim. One of Makir’s wives was named Maacah. Another descendant [of Makir] was Zelophehad. Zelophehad [had no sons; he] had only daughters.
Et Machir prit des femmes pour ses fils Happhim et Saphan; et il eut une sœur du nom de Maacha; mais le nom du second fut Salphaad; et il naquit à Salphaad des filles.
16 Makir’s wife Maacah gave birth to two sons whom she named Peresh and Sheresh. Sheresh’s sons were Ulam and Rakem.
Et Maacha, femme de Machir, enfanta un fils qu’elle appela du nom de Pharès: or le nom du frère de Pharès fut Sarès, et les fils de Sarès: Ulam et Récen.
17 Ulam’s son was Bedan. All those [men were considered to be] descendants of Gilead, who was the son of Makir and grandson of Manasseh.
Mais le fils d’Ulam fut Badan; ceux-là sont les fils de Galaad, fils de Machir, fils de Manassé.
18 Makir’s sister name was Hammoleketh who was the mother of Ishdod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.
Sa sœur. Reine, enfanta Homme-beau, et Abiézer et Mohola.
19 [One son of Gilead was] Shemida, whose sons were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.
Et les fils de Sémida étaient Ahir, Séchem, Léci et Aniam;
20 [This is a list of] the descendants of Ephraim. One son of Ephraim’s was Shuthelah. Shuthelah’s son was Bered. Bered’s son was Tahath. Tahath’s son was Eleadah. Eleadah’s son was [also named] Tahath.
Mais les fils d’Ephraïm: Suthala, Bared, son fils, Thahath, son fils, Elada, son fils, Thahath, son fils, le fils de celui-ci, Zabad,
21 Tahath’s son was Zabad. Zabad’s son was Shuthelah. [Ephraim’s other sons, ] Ezer and Elead, went to Gath [city] to steal some cows and sheep. But they were both killed by some of the men from that city.

22 Their father Ephraim cried/mourned for them for many days, and his family came to comfort him.
C’est pourquoi Ephraïm, leur père, les pleura pendant un grand nombre de jours; et ses frères vinrent pour le consoler.
23 Then he and his wife had sex [EUP] [again], and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. Ephraim named him Beriah [which resembles the word ‘trouble’, ] because of the trouble that his family had experienced.
Et il s’approcha de sa femme, qui conçut et eut un fils, et qui l’appela du nom de Béria, parce qu’il était né au milieu des maux de sa maison.
24 Ephraim’s daughter was Sheerah. Her workers built [three towns]: Lower Beth-Horon, Upper Beth-Horon, and Uzzen-Sheerah.
Mais sa fille fut Sara, qui bâtit Béthoron la Basse et la Haute, et Ozensara.
25 [Another] son of Ephraim was Rephah. Rephah’s son was Resheph. Resheph’s son was Telah. Telah’s son was Tahan.
Il eut encore pour fils, Rapha, Réseph, et Thalé, duquel naquit Thaan,
26 Tahan’s son was Ladan. Ladan’s son was Ammihud. Ammihud’s son was Elishama.
Qui engendra Laadan; et le fils de celui-ci fut Ammiud, qui engendra Elizama,
27 Elishama’s son was Nun. Nun’s son was Joshua, [the man who led the Israelis after Moses died].
Duquel est né Nun, qui eut pour fils Josué.
28 [This is a list of] the cities and areas where the descendants of Ephraim lived: Bethel and the nearby villages; Naaran to the east; Gezer to the west and the nearby villages; and Shechem and the nearby villages. Those villages extended [north] as far as Ayyah and the nearby villages.
Leur possession et leur habitation furent Béthel avec ses filles, Noran, contre l’orient, et contre le côté occidental. Gazer et ses filles, comme aussi Sichem avec ses filles, jusqu’à Aza avec ses filles.
29 Along the border of the area where the descendants of Manasseh lived were these towns: Beth-Shan, Taanach, Megiddo, and Dor, and the nearby villages. The people who lived in all those places were descendants of Jacob’s son Joseph.
Leur possession fut aussi, près des fils de Manassé, Bethsan et ses filles, Thanach et ses filles, Mageddo et ses filles, Dor et ses filles: c’est en ces lieux qu’habitèrent les fils de Joseph, fils d’Israël.
30 Asher’s sons were Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, and Beriah. Their sister was Serah.
Les fils d’Aser furent Jemna, Jésua, Jessui et Baria, et Sara était leur sœur;
31 Beriah’s sons were Heber and Malkiel. Malkiel was the father of Birzaith
Mais les fils de Bari: Heber et Melchiel: c’est lui qui est père de Barsaïth.
32 Heber was the father of Japhlet, Shomer, and Hotham. Their sister was Shua.
Or Héber engendra Jephlat, Somer et Hotham, et Suaa, leur sœur.
33 Japhlet’s sons were Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath.
Les fils de Jéphlat furent Phosech, Chamaal et Asoth; ce sont là les fils de Jéphlat.
34 Japhlet’s [younger] brother was Shomer. Shomer’s sons were Rohgah, Hubbah, and Aram.
Mais les fils de Somer: Ahi, Roaga, Haba et Aram.
35 Shomer’s [younger] brother was Hotham (OR, Helem). Hotham’s sons were Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal.
Et les fils d’Hélem, son frère: Supha, Jemna, Sellès et Amal.
36 Zophah’s sons were Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah,
Les fils de Supha: Sué, Harnapher, Sual, Béri et Jamra,
37 Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran [whose other name was Jether], and Beera.
Bosor, Hod, Samma, Salusa, Jéthran et Béra.
38 Jether’s sons were Jephunneh, Pispah, and Ara.
Les fils de Jéther: Jéphoné, Phaspha et Ara.
39 [Another descendant of Asher was] Ulla, whose sons were Arah, Hanniel, and Rizia.
Et les fils d’Olla: Arée, Haniel et Résia.
40 All those men were descendants of Asher, and they were all leaders of their clans. They were brave warriors and excellent leaders. In the record of the clans that are descended from Asher are [the names of] 26,000 men who served in the army.
Tous ceux-là sont les fils d’Aser, et les princes des familles, chefs distingués et les plus braves des chefs: le nombre de ceux d’un âge propre à la guerre était de vingt-six mille.
