1 Chronicles 15
1 David [commanded his workers to] build some houses for him in Jerusalem. He also told them to set up a tent in which to put the Sacred Chest.
Đa-vít xây cung điện trong Thành Đa-vít, và chuẩn bị một lều đặc biệt để rước Hòm Giao Ước của Đức Chúa Trời.
2 He said, “Only the descendants of Levi are permitted to carry God’s Sacred Chest, because they are the ones whom God chose to carry it and to serve him forever.”
Vua ra lệnh: “Không ai được khiêng vác ngoại trừ người Lê-vi, vì Đức Chúa Trời đã chọn họ khiêng Hòm Giao Ước của Chúa Hằng Hữu và họ sẽ phục vụ Chúa đời đời!”
3 David summoned all the people of Israel to come to Jerusalem. He wanted the Sacred Chest of Yahweh to be put in the place that he had made for it.
Đa-vít triệu tập toàn dân về Giê-ru-sa-lem để rước Hòm Giao Ước của Chúa Hằng Hữu vào nơi ông đã chuẩn bị.
4 He summoned the descendants of Aaron, [who was the first Supreme Priest, ] and the other descendants of Levi.
Đây là số các con cháu A-rôn và người Lê-vi hiện diện:
5 120 descendants of Kohath, who was Levi’s second son, came, with Uriel their leader.
Từ tộc Kê-hát, 120 người dưới quyền lãnh đạo của U-ri-ên.
6 There were 220 descendants of Merari, Levi’s third son, who came, with Asaiah their leader.
Từ tộc Mê-ra-ri, 220 người dưới quyền lãnh đạo của A-sa-gia.
7 There were 130 descendants of Gershon, Levi’s first son, who came, with Joel their leader.
Từ tộc Ghẹt-sôn, 130 người dưới quyền lãnh đạo của Giô-ên.
8 There were 200 people from Elizaphan’s clan who came, with Shemaiah their leader.
Từ tộc Ê-li-sa-phan, 200 người dưới quyền lãnh đạo của Sê-ma-gia.
9 There were 80 people from Hebron’s clan who came, with Eliel their leader.
Từ tộc Hếp-rôn, 80 người dưới quyền lãnh đạo của Ê-li-ên.
10 And there were 112 people from Uzziel’s clan who came, with Amminadab their leader.
Từ tộc U-xi-ên, 112 người dưới quyền lãnh đạo của A-mi-na-đáp.
11 David summoned the priests Zadok and Abiathar and these [other] descendants of Levi: Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab.
Đa-vít triệu tập hai thầy tế lễ là Xa-đốc và A-bia-tha, các trưởng tộc người Lê-vi là U-ri-ên, A-sa-gia, Giô-ên, Sê-ma-gia, Ê-li-ên, và A-mi-na-đáp.
12 David said to them, “You are the leaders of the clans descended from Levi. You and the other descendants of Levi must purify yourselves, in order to [be able to do this special work for Yahweh. You must] bring the Sacred Chest of Yahweh, the God of us Israelis, up to the place that I have made for it [here in Jerusalem].
Ông nói với họ: “Các ngươi là cấp lãnh đạo người Lê-vi. Bây giờ, hãy cùng với các anh em thanh tẩy mình, để được xứng đáng khiêng Hòm Giao Ước của Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên đến nơi ta đã chuẩn bị.
13 The first time that we tried to bring it, we did not ask Yahweh how we should carry it {it should be carried}. You [descendants of Levi] were not the ones who carried it, so Yahweh our God punished us.”
Lần trước, vì các ngươi không làm như vậy và vì chúng ta không vâng giữ các mệnh lệnh Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của chúng ta, đã truyền dạy, nên Ngài đã nổi thịnh nộ với chúng ta.”
14 Then the priests and the [other] descendants of Levi [performed the rituals to] purify themselves, in order that it would be proper for them to do the work of carrying the Sacred Chest of Yahweh, the God of us Israeli people.
Vậy, các thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi làm lễ tẩy uế, dọn mình thánh sạch để dời Hòm của Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên.
15 The descendants of Levi [inserted] the poles [into the rings on] the Sacred Chest so that with them, they could carry the Sacred Chest on their shoulders, like Moses had commanded, and like Yahweh had said that they should.
Các người Lê-vi dùng đòn khiêng Hòm của Đức Chúa Trời trên vai mình, đúng như lời Chúa Hằng Hữu đã truyền bảo Môi-se.
16 David told the leaders of the descendants of Levi to appoint some of their relatives to sing joyful songs and play lyres, harps, and cymbals [while they were carrying the Sacred Chest].
Vua Đa-vít ra lệnh cho các nhà lãnh đạo người Lê-vi tổ chức các ca đoàn và ban nhạc. Các ca sĩ và các nhạc công hân hoan ca hát và cử nhạc vang lừng bằng đàn hạc, đàn cầm, và chập chõa.
17 So they appointed Heman and his relatives Asaph and Ethan. Heman was the son of Joel; Asaph was the son of Berekiah. Ethan, a descendant of Merari, was Kushaiah’s son.
Người Lê-vi cử Hê-man, con Giô-ên, A-sáp, con Bê-rê-kia, và Ê-than, con Cu-sa-gia thuộc tộc Mê-ra-ri.
18 There was also another group of descendants of Levi who were appointed: Zechariah, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, and two of the Sacred Tent gatekeepers, Obed-Edom and Jeiel.
Những người sau đây được chọn làm phụ tá cho họ: Xa-cha-ri, Bên, Gia-xi-ên, Sê-mi-ra-mốt, Giê-hi-ên, U-ni, Ê-li-áp, Bê-na-gia, Ma-a-xê-gia, Ma-ti-thia, Ê-li-phê-lê, Mích-nê-gia, và những người canh cửa là Ô-bết Ê-đôm, và Giê-i-ên.
19 Heman, Asaph and Ethan sang, and also played bronze cymbals.

20 Zechariah, Aziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah played lyres.
Xa-cha-ri, A-xiên, Sê-mi-ra-mốt, Giê-hi-ên, U-ni, Ê-li-áp, Ma-a-xê-gia, và Bê-na-gia được chọn đệm đàn hạc.
21 Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, Jeiel and Azaziah played harps.
Ma-ti-thia, Ê-li-phê-lê, Mích-nê-gia, Ô-bết Ê-đôm, Giê-i-ên, và A-xa-ria được chọn chơi đàn cầm.
22 Kenaniah, the leader of the descendants of Levi, directed the singing because he was very skilled at doing that.
Kê-na-nia, trưởng tộc người Lê-vi, vì có tài âm nhạc nên được cử điều khiển ban nhạc.
23 Berekiah and Elkanah were two of the men who guarded the Sacred Chest.
Bê-rê-kia và Ên-ca-na được chọn canh giữ Hòm.
24 The priests Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer were appointed to blow trumpets in front of the Sacred Chest. Obed-Edom and Jehiah also guarded the Sacred Chest.
Các Thầy Tế lễ Sê-ba-nia, Giô-sa-phát, Na-tha-na-ên, A-ma-sai, Xa-cha-ri, Bê-na-gia, và Ê-li-ê-se làm đội kèn đi đầu Hòm Giao Ước của Đức Chúa Trời. Ô-bết Ê-đôm và Giê-hi-gia cũng được chọn canh giữ Hòm Giao Ước.
25 David and the Israeli leaders and the officers who commanded 1,000 soldiers went to bring the Sacred Chest back from Obed-Edom’s house. They were very joyful as they brought it to Jerusalem.
Vậy, Đa-vít, cùng các trưởng lão Ít-ra-ên, và các tướng lãnh, đến nhà của Ô-bết Ê-đôm rước Hòm Giao Ước của Chúa Hằng Hữu cách long trọng.
26 God helped the descendants of Levi who carried the Sacred Chest of Yahweh; therefore David and the leaders sacrificed seven bulls and seven (rams/male sheep) [to thank him].
Vì Đức Chúa Trời phù hộ những người Lê-vi khiêng Hòm Giao Ước của Chúa Hằng Hữu, nên người ta dâng bảy con bò đực và bảy con chiên đực.
27 All the descendants of Levi who carried the Sacred Chest, all the singers, and Kenaniah, the man who directed those who sang, wore robes of fine white linen and sacred vests made of fine linen. David also wore a sacred vest made of white linen.
Đa-vít, các người Lê-vi khiêng hòm giao ước, ca đoàn và nhạc trưởng Kê-na-nia đều mặc áo dài vải gai mịn. Đa-vít cũng mặc chiếc áo choàng bằng vải gai.
28 So all of the Israeli people joined in bringing the Sacred Chest up [to Jerusalem]. They shouted [joyfully, while the musicians] blew horns and trumpets, and played cymbals, lyres, and harps.
Vậy, các cấp lãnh đạo Ít-ra-ên rước Hòm Giao Ước của Chúa Hằng Hữu về Giê-ru-sa-lem với tiếng tung hô mừng rỡ, với điệu kèn và tù và, với chập chõa vang rền, với đàn hạc và đàn cầm réo rắt.
29 While they were bringing the Sacred Chest into Jerusalem, Saul’s daughter Michal watched them, looking out of a window. When she saw King David dancing and celebrating, she despised him.
Khi Hòm Giao Ước của Chúa Hằng Hữu vào Thành Đa-vít, Mi-canh, con gái Sau-lơ, nhìn qua cửa sổ thấy Vua Đa-vít nhảy múa vui mừng thì trong lòng khinh bỉ vua.
