< Matthew 5 >

1 When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on the mountain. And when he sat down, his disciples came to him.
A LAO masani pokon o, ap kotida pong dol eu; a lao kaipokedi, sapwilim a tounpadak kan ap kai dong i.
2 Then he opened his mouth and taught them, saying,
I ari kotin dauasa pasang silang i kawewe ong irail masani:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Meid pai, me samama ni ngen ir, pwe nairail wein nanlang.
4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Meid pai, me mauk, pwe re pan kamaitala.
5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Meid pai, me opampap, pwe re pan sosoki sappa.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Meid pai, me kin men manga o men nim me pung, pwe re pan medila.
7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.
Meid pai, me kadek, pwe re pan diar kadek.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Meid pai, me nan mongiong arail makelekel, pwe re pan ariri Kot.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Meid pai, me kin tom pena, pwe re pan adaneki seri en Kot.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Meid pai, me kamekameki pung, pwe nairail wein nanlang.
11 Blessed are you when others reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
Komail meid pai, ma irail lalaue o paki komail o palian komail ni arail lokaia sued o likam pweki ngai.
12 Rejoice and be glad, for great is your reward in heaven; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Komail insenemau o perenda kaualap; pweki katinge pamail me lapalap nanlang. Pwe iduen irail paki saukop oko, me mo’mail.
13 “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt loses its flavor, with what shall it be seasoned? It is no longer fit for anything but to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.
Sol pan sappa komail. A ma sol sara sang, da me a pan soleki? Nan a pan me mal kot, men lokidokila, o aramas en tiak pasang.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden,
Marain pan sappa komail, Kanim eu, me mi pon dol eu, sota kak rirla.
15 nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it shines for all who are in the house.
Aramas pil sota kin isikeda lamp eu, ap ki ong pan kasak, pwe pon deu a, o a kin kamaraini toun im karos.
16 Let your light shine before others in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Iduen omail marain en sansal mon aramas, pwe irail en udial omail wiawia man kan, ap kapikapinga Sam omail, me kotiluit nanlang.
17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them.
Eder kikiong me I kodon, tiakedi kapung de saukop akan. I sota kodon tiakedi, a pwen kapwaiada.
18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter or stroke of a letter will by any means pass from the law until all is accomplished.
Pwe melel, I indai ong komail, lao lang o sappa pan poula, sota iota eu de kisin muai en kapung eu pan lokidokila, lao karos pan pwaida.
19 Therefore whoever does away with one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Ari, meamen me tiakedi eu kisin kusoned tikitik pukat, ap pil padaki ong aramas, ren tiakedi, nan a pan tikitik nan wein nanlang. A meamen, me oke o padaki ong aramas, ren oke, i me pan lapalap nan wein nanlang.
20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.
Pwe I indai ong komail, ma omail pung so man sang pung en saunkawewe o Parisär, akan, komail sota pan kak pedelon ong nan wein nanlang.
21 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘Yoʋ shall not murder,’ and, ‘Whoever murders will be subject to judgment.’
Komail rongadar, me a loki, ong men kaua: Koe der kamela aramas! A me pan kamela aramas, pan pangalang kadeik o.
22 But I say to you that everyone who is rashly angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Whoever says to his brother, ‘Yoʋ idiot,’ will be subject to the Sanhedrin. And whoever says, ‘Yoʋ fool,’ will be subject to the fires of hell. (Geenna g1067)
A I indai ong komail, meamen makarada mal pan ri a ol, pan pangalang kadeik. A me pan indang ri a ol: Raka, pan pangalang kapung. A me pan inda: Koe me pweipwei, pan lokidokila nan le en pweleko. (Geenna g1067)
23 So if yoʋ are offering yoʋr gift at the altar and there remember that yoʋr brother has something against yoʋ,
Ari, ma koe wa dong pei saraui om mairong, ap tamanda wasa o, me ri om ol insensued pa om.
24 leave yoʋr gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to yoʋr brother, and then come and offer yoʋr gift.
Pwilikidi mas om mairong impan pei saraui, ap kola kadeke ri om ol, ap kodo kapwaiada om mairong.
25 Make friends with yoʋr adversary quickly while yoʋ are on the way with him, lest yoʋr adversary hand yoʋ over to the judge, and the judge hand yoʋ over to the guard, and yoʋ be thrown into prison.
Madang materoki ong me palian ong uk ni om iang i pon al o, pwe me palian ong uk ender pangalang uk ren saunkapung, a saunkapung pangalang uk ren papa o, o koe pan lokidokila nan imateng.
26 Truly I say to yoʋ, yoʋ will certainly not come out of there until yoʋ have paid the last penny.
Melel I indai ong uk, koe sota pan ko sang wasa o, koe lao kapungala lua karos.
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Yoʋ shall not commit adultery.’
Komail rongadar, me a lokido: Koe der kamal!
28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
A I indai ong komail, meamen ngingar li amen, pwen norok, nan a kamal ong i nan mongiong i.
29 So if yoʋr right eye causes yoʋ to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from yoʋ. For it is better for yoʋ to have one of yoʋr members perish, than for yoʋr whole body to be thrown into hell. (Geenna g1067)
O ma pali maun en mas om kamakar uk, waikada sang o kase sang uk, pwe a mau ong uk, kisan war om en ola, sang war om pon en lokidokila nan pweleko. (Geenna g1067)
30 And if yoʋr right hand causes yoʋ to stumble, cut it off and throw it away from yoʋ. For it is better for yoʋ to have one of yoʋr members perish, than for yoʋr whole body to be thrown into hell. (Geenna g1067)
O ma pali maun en pa om kamakar uk, waika sang o kase sang uk, pwe a mau ong uk, kisan war om en ola, sang war om pon en lokidokila nan pweleko. (Geenna g1067)
31 “It was also said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’
A pil lokido: Meamen me pan kasela a paud, i en ki ong i kisin likau en kamueit.
32 But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife, apart from a matter of fornication, makes her commit adultery. And whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
A I indai ong komail, meamen me pan kasela a paud, me so nenek nan a kin kamal eki i; a meamen, me paudeki me lokido kilar, nan i me kamal.
33 “Again, you have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘Yoʋ shall not break an oath, but shall keep yoʋr oaths to the Lord.’
Komail pil rongadar, me a loki ong men kaua: Koe der kaula likam; a koe kapwaiada om kaula ong Kaun o!
34 But I say to you, do not swear at all, neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God;
I indai ong komail, der man kaula! Der kaukila nanlang, pwe mol en Kot;
35 nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
Pil der sappa, pwe utipa; pil der Ierusalem, pweki kanim en Nanmarki lapalap.
36 Neither shall yoʋ swear by yoʋr head, for yoʋ cannot make one hair white or black.
Koe pil der kaukila mong om, pwe koe sota kak ong wiada pit en monga eu, en puetepuet de tontol.
37 But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’ be ‘No’; for whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
Omail kasokasoi pena en: Ei ei; so, so; pwe me dauli mepukat, kin tapi sang ni me sued.
38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’
Komail rongadar, me a lokido: Por en mas en depukki por en mas; o ngi pot en depukki ngi pot.
39 But I say to you, do not resist one who is evil. Rather, if anyone slaps yoʋ on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.
A I indai ong komail, komail der palian me sued. A meamen pikir uk ni pali maun en likin sap om, pil ki ong i pali teio.
40 If anyone wants to sue yoʋ and take away yoʋr tunic, let him have yoʋr cloak also.
O meamen, me men wa uk ala ni kapung, pwen adia sang om sakit, en pil ki ong i om likau pup.
41 And if anyone presses yoʋ into service for one mile, go with him two.
O ma meamen ngidingid kin uk, en iang i mail eu, koe en iang mail riau.
42 Give to him who asks of yoʋ, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from yoʋ.
Kisakisai ong me kin ngidingid re om, o koe der saupei sang me poekipoeki re om!
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Yoʋ shall love yoʋr neighbor and hate yoʋr enemy.’
Komail rongadar, me a lokidor: Koe en pok ong men imp om ap kailongki om imwintiti!
44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,
A I indai ong komail, pok ong omail imwintiti kan. o kapakap kin irail, me paki komail;
45 so that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
Pwe komail en sapwilim en Sam omail, me kotikot nanlang. Pwe a kin kapwareda sapwilim a katipin pon me sued o me mau kan, o kotin kamoredi katau pon me pung o me sapung kan.
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
Pwe ma komail pok ong, me kin pok ong komail, da me pan kating pa’mail? Saunopwei sota kin wia due met?
47 And if you greet only your friends, what are you doing that is out of the ordinary? Do not even the tax collectors do that?
O ma komail ranamau ong ri omail akan, da me komail sikiki sang me tei kan? Men liki kan sota kin wia due met?
48 You therefore shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
Komail ari en unsokela dueta Sam omail, me kotikot nanlang, a unsok.
