Matthew 5
1 When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on the mountain. And when he sat down, his disciples came to him.
೧ಯೇಸು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗುಂಪನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲೇರಿ ಕುಳಿತ ತರುವಾಯ ಆತನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಆತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
2 Then he opened his mouth and taught them, saying,
೨ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಉಪದೇಶ ಮಾಡಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ,
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
೩“ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಡವರಾಗಿರುವವರು ಧನ್ಯರು; ಪರಲೋಕ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಅವರದು.
4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
೪ದುಃಖಪಡುವವರು ಧನ್ಯರು; ಅವರು ದೇವರಿಂದ ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಹೊಂದುವರು.
5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
೫ವಿನಯವುಳ್ಳವರು ಧನ್ಯರು; ಅವರು ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯರಾಗುವರು.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
೬ನೀತಿಗೆ ಹಸಿದು ಬಾಯಾರಿದವರು ಧನ್ಯರು; ಅವರು ತೃಪ್ತರಾಗುವರು.
7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.
೭ಕರುಣೆಯುಳ್ಳವರು ಧನ್ಯರು; ಅವರು ಕರುಣೆ ಹೊಂದುವರು.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
೮ಶುದ್ಧ ಹೃದಯದವರು ಧನ್ಯರು; ಅವರು ದೇವರನ್ನು ನೋಡುವರು.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
೯ಶಾಂತಿಗಾಗಿ ಶ್ರಮಿಸುವವರು ಧನ್ಯರು; ಅವರು ದೇವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಎಂದೆನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
೧೦ನೀತಿಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ಹಿಂಸಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವವರು ಧನ್ಯರು; ಪರಲೋಕ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಅವರದು.
11 Blessed are you when others reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
೧೧“ನನ್ನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ಜನರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸಿ ಹಿಂಸೆಪಡಿಸಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಳ್ಳಾಗಿ ಹೊರಿಸಿದರೆ ನೀವು ಧನ್ಯರು.
12 Rejoice and be glad, for great is your reward in heaven; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
೧೨ಸಂತೋಷಪಡಿರಿ, ಉಲ್ಲಾಸಪಡಿರಿ; ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಫಲ ಸಿಕ್ಕುವುದು; ನಿಮಗಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಇದ್ದ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅವರು ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಹಿಂಸೆಪಡಿಸಿದರಲ್ಲಾ.
13 “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt loses its flavor, with what shall it be seasoned? It is no longer fit for anything but to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.
೧೩“ನೀವು ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ಉಪ್ಪಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಉಪ್ಪು ಸಪ್ಪಗಾದರೆ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವುದರಿಂದ ಉಪ್ಪಿನ ರುಚಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ? ಜನರು ಅದನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆಹಾಕಿ ದಾರಿಹೋಕರು ತುಳಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅದು ಯೋಗ್ಯವೇ ಹೊರತು ಮತ್ತ್ಯಾವ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೂ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden,
೧೪ನೀವು ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಳಕಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಊರು ಮರೆಯಾಗಿರಲಾರದು.
15 nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it shines for all who are in the house.
೧೫ಮತ್ತು ಯಾರೂ ದೀಪವನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿಸಿ ಕೊಳಗದೊಳಗೆ ಇಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ದೀಪಸ್ತಂಭದ ಮೇಲೆಯೇ ಇಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆಗ ಅದು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಬೆಳಕು ಕೊಡುವುದು.
16 Let your light shine before others in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
೧೬ಅದರಂತೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬೆಳಕು ಜನರ ಮುಂದೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸಲಿ. ಆಗ ಅವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುವರು.
17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them.
೧೭“ಮೋಶೆಯ ಧರ್ಮನಿಯಮವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಪ್ರವಾದನೆಗಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ನಿರರ್ಥಕಪಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ಬಂದೆನೆಂದು ನೆನಸಬೇಡಿರಿ; ನಿರರ್ಥಕಪಡಿಸಲು ಬಂದಿಲ್ಲ; ಬದಲಾಗಿ ನೆರವೇರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter or stroke of a letter will by any means pass from the law until all is accomplished.
೧೮ನಿಮಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಆಕಾಶವೂ ಭೂಮಿಯೂ ಅಳಿದುಹೋಗುವ ತನಕ ಧರ್ಮನಿಯಮವೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೆರವೇರಿದ ಹೊರತು ಅದರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಚುಕ್ಕೆಯಾಗಲಿ, ಒಂದು ಅಕ್ಷರವಾಗಲಿ ಅಳಿದುಹೋಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
19 Therefore whoever does away with one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
೧೯ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಈ ಸಣ್ಣ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದನ್ನು ಮೀರಿ ನಡೆದು ಜನರಿಗೂ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೋಧಿಸುವವನು ಪರಲೋಕ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಕನಿಷ್ಠನೆನ್ನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು; ಆದರೆ ತಾನೇ ಸ್ವತಃ ಆ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳಂತೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಜನರಿಗೂ ಹಾಗೆ ನಡೆಯಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬೋಧಿಸುವವನು ಪರಲೋಕ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನೆನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.
೨೦ನಿಮ್ಮ ನೀತಿಯು ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳ ಮತ್ತು ಫರಿಸಾಯರ ನೀತಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿರದಿದ್ದರೆ ನೀವು ಪರಲೋಕ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಲಾರಿರಿ ಎಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
21 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘Yoʋ shall not murder,’ and, ‘Whoever murders will be subject to judgment.’
೨೧“‘ನರಹತ್ಯ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು; ನರಹತ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವವನು ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪಿಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗುವನೆಂದು’ ಹಿರಿಯರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿಯದೆ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
22 But I say to you that everyone who is rashly angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Whoever says to his brother, ‘Yoʋ idiot,’ will be subject to the Sanhedrin. And whoever says, ‘Yoʋ fool,’ will be subject to the fires of hell. (Geenna g1067)
೨೨ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವುದೇನಂದರೆ, ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಿಟ್ಟುಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪಿಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗುವನು; ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ, ‘ಎಲೈ ಮೂರ್ಖನೇ’ ಎಂದು ಅನ್ನುವವನು ನ್ಯಾಯ ಸಭೆಯ ವಿಚಾರಣೆಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗುವನು; ‘ಎಲೈ ನೀಚನೇ’ ಎಂದು ಅನ್ನುವವನು, ಅಗ್ನಿ ನರಕಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗುವನು. (Geenna g1067)
23 So if yoʋ are offering yoʋr gift at the altar and there remember that yoʋr brother has something against yoʋ,
೨೩ಆದಕಾರಣ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯ ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದಾಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಏನೋ ವಿರೋಧವಿದೆ ಎಂಬುದು ನಿನ್ನ ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಬಂದರೆ,
24 leave yoʋr gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to yoʋr brother, and then come and offer yoʋr gift.
೨೪ನಿನ್ನ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಆ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯ ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಿ ಮೊದಲು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನ ಸಂಗಡ ಒಂದಾಗು; ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡು.
25 Make friends with yoʋr adversary quickly while yoʋ are on the way with him, lest yoʋr adversary hand yoʋ over to the judge, and the judge hand yoʋ over to the guard, and yoʋ be thrown into prison.
೨೫“ಇನ್ನೂ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರತಿವಾದಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬೇಗ ಸಂಧಾನ ಮಾಡಿಕೋ; ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಆ ಆಪಾದಕನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಾನು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಮನೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಾನು. ಆಗ ನೀನು ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಸೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವಿ.
26 Truly I say to yoʋ, yoʋ will certainly not come out of there until yoʋ have paid the last penny.
೨೬ನೀನು ಒಂದು ಕಾಸನ್ನಾದರೂ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವ ತನಕ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Yoʋ shall not commit adultery.’
೨೭“‘ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡಬಾರದೆಂದು’ ಹೇಳಿಯದೆ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ನೀವು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
೨೮ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವುದೇನಂದರೆ, ಪರಸ್ತ್ರೀಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಮೋಹಿಸುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಆಗಲೇ ತನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕೆಯ ಕೂಡ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡಿದವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
29 So if yoʋr right eye causes yoʋ to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from yoʋ. For it is better for yoʋ to have one of yoʋr members perish, than for yoʋr whole body to be thrown into hell. (Geenna g1067)
೨೯ನಿನ್ನ ಬಲಗಣ್ಣು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಪಾಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಸುವುದಾದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತು ಎಸೆದುಬಿಡು, ನಿನ್ನ ದೇಹವೆಲ್ಲಾ ನರಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಳುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ದೇಹದ ಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಹೋಗುವುದು ನಿನಗೆ ಹಿತವಲ್ಲವೇ. (Geenna g1067)
30 And if yoʋr right hand causes yoʋ to stumble, cut it off and throw it away from yoʋ. For it is better for yoʋ to have one of yoʋr members perish, than for yoʋr whole body to be thrown into hell. (Geenna g1067)
೩೦ನಿನ್ನ ಬಲಗೈ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಪಾಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಸುವುದಾದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ಎಸೆದುಬಿಡು, ನಿನ್ನ ದೇಹವೆಲ್ಲಾ ನರಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಳುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ದೇಹದ ಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಹೋಗುವುದು ನಿನಗೆ ಹಿತವಲ್ಲವೇ. (Geenna g1067)
31 “It was also said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’
೩೧ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುವವನು ಆಕೆಗೆ ವಿಚ್ಛೇದನ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ಕೊಡತಕ್ಕದ್ದೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿಯದೆಯಷ್ಟೆ.
32 But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife, apart from a matter of fornication, makes her commit adultery. And whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
೩೨ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವುದೇನಂದರೆ, ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರದ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದಲ್ಲದೆ ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುವವನು ಅವಳು ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣನಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಗಂಡಬಿಟ್ಟವಳನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರಮಾಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
33 “Again, you have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘Yoʋ shall not break an oath, but shall keep yoʋr oaths to the Lord.’
೩೩“ಮತ್ತು, ನೀನು ಸುಳ್ಳಾಣೆಯಿಡಬಾರದು; ‘ನೀನು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡ ಆಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹಿರಿಯರ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ’ ಹೇಳಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೀರಷ್ಟೆ.
34 But I say to you, do not swear at all, neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God;
೩೪ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವುದೇನಂದರೆ, ಆಣೆಯನ್ನೇ ಇಡಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಆಕಾಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಣೆ ಇಡಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಅದು ದೇವರ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವು.
35 nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
೩೫ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಣೆ ಇಡಬೇಡಿ ಅದು ಆತನ ಪಾದಪೀಠ. ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಣೆ ಇಡಬೇಡಿ; ಅದು ಆ ಮಹಾ ರಾಜನ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾಗಿದೆ.
36 Neither shall yoʋ swear by yoʋr head, for yoʋ cannot make one hair white or black.
೩೬ನಿನ್ನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂಡ ಆಣೆ ಇಡಬೇಡ; ನೀನು ಒಂದು ಕೂದಲನ್ನಾದರೂ ಬೆಳ್ಳಗೆ ಅಥವಾ ಕಪ್ಪಗೆ ಮಾಡಲಾರೆ.
37 But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’ be ‘No’; for whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
೩೭ಆದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಾತು ‘ಹೌದಾದರೆ ಹೌದು ಅಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ಅಲ್ಲ’ ಎಂದಿರಲಿ. ಇದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದದ್ದು ಸೈತಾನನಿಂದ ಬರುವಂತಹದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ.
38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’
೩೮“‘ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಣ್ಣನ್ನು ಹಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ ಹಲ್ಲನ್ನು ತೆಗೆಯಿಸು’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿರುವುದು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೀರಷ್ಟೆ.
39 But I say to you, do not resist one who is evil. Rather, if anyone slaps yoʋ on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.
೩೯ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವುದೇನಂದರೆ, ಕೆಡುಕನನ್ನು ವಿರೋಧಿಸಬೇಡ. ಒಬ್ಬನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಲಗೆನ್ನೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊಡೆದರೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಕೆನ್ನೆಯನ್ನು ಸಹ ತಿರುಗಿಸು.
40 If anyone wants to sue yoʋ and take away yoʋr tunic, let him have yoʋr cloak also.
೪೦ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವಾಡಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಒಳಂಗಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವವನಿಗೆ ಮೇಲಂಗಿಯನ್ನೂ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಡು.
41 And if anyone presses yoʋ into service for one mile, go with him two.
೪೧ಒಬ್ಬನು ಒಂದು ಮೈಲು ದೂರ ಬಾ ಎಂದು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರೆ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಎರಡು ಮೈಲು ದೂರ ಹೋಗು.
42 Give to him who asks of yoʋ, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from yoʋ.
೪೨ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡು; ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಡಲು ಬಂದವನಿಗೆ ಮುಖ ತಿರುಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ.
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Yoʋ shall love yoʋr neighbor and hate yoʋr enemy.’
೪೩“‘ನಿನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿ ನಿನ್ನ ವೈರಿಯನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು’ ಹೇಳಿಯದೆ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೀರಷ್ಟೆ.
44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,
೪೪ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವುದೇನಂದರೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ವೈರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿರಿ; ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹಿಂಸೆಪಡಿಸುವವರಿಗೊಸ್ಕರ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿರಿ.
45 so that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
೪೫ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ, ನೀವು ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾಗುವಿರಿ. ಆತನು ಕೆಟ್ಟವರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ತನ್ನ ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಉದಯಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ನೀತಿವಂತರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಅನೀತಿವಂತರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಮಳೆ ಸುರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
೪೬ನಿಮಗೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ತೋರಿಸುವವರನ್ನೇ ನೀವು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿದರೆ ಫಲವೇನು? ಸುಂಕದವರು ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೇ.
47 And if you greet only your friends, what are you doing that is out of the ordinary? Do not even the tax collectors do that?
೪೭ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ನೀವು ಮರ್ಯಾದೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ಏನು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗಾಯಿತು? ಅನ್ಯಜನರು ಸಹ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರಲ್ಲವೇ.
48 You therefore shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
೪೮ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯು ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣನಾಗಿರುವ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನೀವೂ ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣರಾಗಿರಿ.
