< Luke 22 >

1 Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread was drawing near, which is called Passover,
Esikhukhu iya fivanda yahegelile, iyitambuliwa pasakha.
2 and the chief priests and the scribes were looking for a way to get rid of Jesus quietly, for they were afraid of the people.
Avatwa navasimbi vakhavunchana umwa khubudela U Yesu, ulwakhuva valikhuva dwada avanu.
3 Then Satan entered into Judas, the one called Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve.
Utavagwa akhigila mugati mwa Yuda Isikariote, uninje navakhogi khinchunigo na fiveli.
4 He went away and discussed with the chief priests and officers how he might deliver Jesus up to them.
U Yuda akhaluta khuvunchania na vatwa umwakhug'elekhila U Yesu khuvene.
5 They were glad and agreed to give him money.
Vahowikhe, nukhwidekhana ukhumpa indalama.
6 So he accepted the offer and began looking for an opportunity to deliver Jesus up to them in the absence of a crowd.
Umwene aedikhe, alikhulonda usekhi ugwakhug'elekha U Y esu khuvene khuvutali nchukhunchi lya vanu.
7 Then came the day for the Feast of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.
Ikhigono ikhya fivanda ikhafikha, upwuyinogiwa ig'osi iya Pasakha yekhuminchiwe.
8 Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go prepare the Passover for us, so that we may eat it.”
U Yesu akhavasuha U Peteri nu Yohani, akhanchova, “Mulutage mkhatunonchehenche ikhyakhulya ikhya Pasakha twinche tulye.”
9 They said to him, “Where do yoʋ want us to prepare it?”
Vakhambuncha, “Ndakhuwinogwa tukhavombe imbmbo iyo?”
10 He said to them, “Behold, when you enter the city, a man carrying a jug of water will meet you. Follow him into the house he enters
Akhavanda, “Mpulikhinchage, apya munchikhwigile mumbunchege, khumbona ugosi itwekhile incilo ya magasi ivapaninie numwe.
11 and say to the master of the house, ‘The Teacher asks yoʋ, “Where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’
Mkhogage khuyumba iyu akhivaikhwigile. Pwumumbulage unyayumba, “Umanyisi ikhukhuvula, “khilindakhe ikhiyumba ikhyavageni, upwunino gwa ukhulya ipasakha navakhogi vango?”
12 He will then show you a large upper room that is furnished; prepare it there.”
Ikhuvavonesya ikhiyumba ikhya khukyanya khitayani. Mkhutesaniage umwa.”
13 So they went and found it just as Jesus had told them, and they prepared the Passover.
Pwu vakhaluta, vakhakhanchivona khila khinu nduavavulila. Vakha noncha ikyakhula ikhyapasakha.
14 When the hour came, Jesus reclined at the table, and the twelve apostles were with him.
Usekhi gwa vilekhufikhe atamilena vakongi va mwene.
15 He said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.
Pwu akhavavula, “Ninogwa lweli ukhulya ipasakha numwe usekhi wusakhutegwile ugwavukhuvita wago.
16 For I tell you that I will certainly not eat it again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”
Ulwakhuva nikhuvavula, sanikhalye khavili ipakha ipyayekhwalanile khuludeva lwa Nguluve.”
17 Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he said, “Take this and divide it among yourselves.
U Yesu akhatola ikhiywelo, avile adovile, akhata, “Mtolage ikhimga vane yumwe khwa yumwe.
18 For I tell you, I will certainly not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”
Ulwakhuva nikhuvavula, sanekhalye khavile unsabibu, impakha uludeva lwa Nguluve apialufikhe.”
19 Then he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
Pwu akhatola akhivanda, akhisaya, akhameyula, akhavapa, akhanchova, “Ugu gwumbili gwago ugukhume nchiwe khulwimwe. Mgakhage vulevule mwumkhug'umbukha une.”
20 In the same way, he also took the cup after they had eaten supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
Akhatova ikhiyelo vulevule wuvigonikhe akhata, “Ikhiywelo ikhi lwidekhano ulupya khukhisa gwago, ukhududikhe khumbivi ncheyo.
21 But behold, the hand of the one who is going to betray me is with mine on the table.
Pwu mlolage. Ulauveikhumbuda pwale panienune pamesa.
22 The Son of Man indeed goes as it has been determined, but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed.”
Ulwakhava umwana va Ndavati iluta nduwa yasimbiwe. Pwu elolelageumunu uviukhugendela umwene umwana va Ndaveti ibudiwa!”
23 Then they began to discuss with one another which one of them it could be who would do this.
Vakhategula ukhuvanchana vavo khwa vavo, veni pagati palwufwe aviimbomba ewo.
24 A dispute also arose among them as to which of them was considered to be greater.
Lukhahumila ulukhani pagati pavene ukhata veni uveyaivaimba imbakha khuvoni.
25 So Jesus said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those who have authority over them are called benefactors.
Akhavavula, “Avakhuludeva va vanu avanyapanchi valinavakha khuvene, navala avanyamakha khukhyanya khuvene vikhuvatambula vavaha valoleli.
26 But it must not be so with you; rather the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader must become like one who serves.
Sayinogiwe lweli ukhuva ewo khulyumwe. Pwu mwilekhelwe ula umbakha khulyumwe ave ndu mwana udebe. Nulauvalutogo fincho aveduve ivomba.
27 For who is greater? The one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.
Pwu alikhu umbakha, ulauveitamapamesa, au ula uveivomba? Syulouveitama pamesa? Nayune neledula uveivomba pagati palyumwe.
28 “You have stayed with me in my trials.
Umwemwemwe mwivapanie nune mumbukhuvilwa wangu.
29 And I bestow on you a kingdom, just as my Father bestowed one on me,
Nikhuvapa umwe uludeva, nduwuudada amile uneuludeva, Pwumulinchage nakhuywa khuludeva lwago.
30 so that you may eat and drink at my table. And you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
Mtamamfitamelo ifya ludeva wumukhuvahega ifivu mbukho khinchigo na vivile ifya vayaisivaeli.
31 Then the Lord said, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded to have you, so that he might sift you like wheat.
Simioni, Simioni, ulumanya ukhuta, utavago adovile ukhuta avapete ndinganu.
32 But I have prayed for yoʋ that yoʋr faith may not fail. Once yoʋ have turned back, strengthen yoʋr brothers.”
Ulwakhuva nikhudovile, ulwedikho lwakho lulekhe ukhufwa. Apya ukhiliwikhe kavili uvakhaganchage, avalu khololo.”
33 Peter said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with yoʋ both to prison and to death.”
U Peteri akhambula, “Dada, nili tayari ukhuluta nunu khukhikugwanakhuvufwe.”
34 Jesus said, “I tell yoʋ, Peter, a rooster will certainly not crow today before yoʋ have denied three times that yoʋ know me.”
U Yesu akhanda, “Nikhukhuvula, Peteri, ilikhogove salikhavike ilelo, wusumbelile mara khadatu ukhuta umayile.”
35 Then Jesus said to them, “When I sent you without a moneybag, knapsack, or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.”
Pwu U Yesu akhambula, “Navile nevakhelikhe umwe khinchila mpakho, ikhitundu ikhya finu, au ifilato, pwu mkhalemilwe khinu?” Vakhanda ate.”
36 Then he said to them, “But now he who has a moneybag must take it, and likewise a knapsack. And he who does not have a sword must sell his garment and buy one.
Akhavavula, “Lino, khilaunyapako, agutole ponie nekhitundu ikhyafi akula. Ulauvealivuvule emundu yenogile agunche ikhanjo ya mwene agule khimo.
37 For I tell you that this Scripture must still be fulfilled in me: ‘He was numbered with the lawless.’ For what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment.”
Ulwakhuva nikhuvavula, nchoni inchisimbiwe khuliune ipakha nchikwela, 'Atoliwe ndumunu uviadenyile indagilo; Ulwakhuva khila ikhyanchoviwe khulyone khikwelile.”
38 So they said, “Lord, behold, here are two swords.” He said to them, “That is enough!”
Pwu akhanehove, Dada, lola! Pwunchile apa imundu ivele.” Pwuakhavavula “yekhwelile.”
39 Then Jesus went out and made his way to the Mount of Olives, as was his custom, and his disciples followed him.
Wuvalile ikhyakhulya ikhyakhu kimihe, U Yesu akhahega, nduwu akhavombage imisekhe gwini, akhaluta khukyamba ikhya Mizeituni, vkhongi vakhakhonga.
40 When he came to the place, he said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.”
Vavilevafikhe, akhavavula, “Mdovage ukhuta mlekhe ukhwigela mudugelo.”
41 Then he withdrew from them about a stone's throw away and knelt down and prayed,
Akhaluta khuvutali navene ndu khulaha iliwe, akhafugama akhadova.
42 “Father, if yoʋ are willing to take this cup away from me, do so; nevertheless, not my will, but yoʋrs be done.”
Akhata, “Dada, unasewinogwa ghe nchechenche ikhiywelo ikhi. Yelekhe ukhuva nduwuninogwa une, uvunogwe wakho vukhogiwage.”
43 Then an angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.
Avasug'wa ukhuhuma khukhyanya akhagihumila, akhampa amakha.
44 Being in agony, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat became like drops of blood falling to the ground.
Wualipakhutamwa, akhadova khunumbula yoni, nedwinga amavaha agakhisa galikhugwa pasi.
45 When he rose from prayer and came to the disciples, he found them sleeping because of their sorrow.
Avileasisimwikhe ukhuhuma khukhwisaya, akaluta khuvakhogi, akhavona vagonelile ulwakheva vasusuvile,
46 So he said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Rise and pray, lest you enter into temptation.”
Akhavuncha, khikhi mugonelela? Sisimukha mudovage, ukhulamulekhe ukhwigila mudogelo.”
47 While he was still speaking, behold, a crowd approached, and the man called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He drew near to Jesus to kiss him,
Avile baduipinchova, lola, ikhipuga ikhivaha ikhya vanu khikha humila nu Yudaiskariote, ukhukogi va mwene akhava logoncha. Akhincha karibu nu Yesu ukhuta amwabasye,
48 and Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”
Pwu u Yesu akhambula, “Yuda, lweli vukhubuda umwana va Ndaveti nukhumwabasya?”
49 When those who were around him saw what was about to happen, they said to him, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?”
Usikhi gulaavelepawipi nu Yesu vavile valolile ncho, vakhanchova, Dada, tuvegede ni mundu?”
50 Then one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear.
Pwu yumo akhantova umbombi va Ntwa, akhageda imbulukhutu iya khudio.
51 But Jesus responded, “No more of this!” And he touched the man's ear and healed him.
U Yesu akhanda, “Iyeyekhwelile. Akhabasya imbolukhutu yamwene akhaponia.
52 Then Jesus said to the chief priests, the officers of the temple, and the elders who had come out against him, “Have you come out with swords and clubs as you would against a robber?
U Yesu akhanchova khuNtwa umbakha, nakhuvavaha vatembile, nakhuvadyakoni avainchile khiyume numwene. Pwu mwikhwincha ndavanu aviluluta khwilwa navalyasi, ninyambunda ni mundu?
53 I was with you daily in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour, when the power of darkness reigns.”
Upwanekhale numwe isinchuchooni mtembile, samkhavigha amavokho giyo khutwe khulione. Lin khavalilo khako, nuvuvaha uwakhisi.”
54 Then they arrested him, led him away, and brought him to the house of the high priest, and Peter was following at a distance.
Vakhamwibata, vakhandogoncha, vakhaghilikha khunyumba iya Ntwa umbaha. U Peteri alikhukonga khuvutali.
55 Some there had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, and Peter sat down among them.
Vavile vapulile umwoto musebule iyagati vakhatama panie, u Peteri akhatama pagati pavene.
56 When a servant girl saw him sitting in the light of the fire, she looked at him intently and said, “This man also was with him.”
Umbombi yumo undala akhambona u Peteri u pwu atamile palumuli uluhumana nu mwoto, akhandola akhambula, “Uyu umunu akhalepaninie nave.”
57 But Peter denied him, saying, “Woman, I do not know him.”
U Peteri akhabeva, akhata, “Vindala uve, unesanimajile.”
58 After a little while, someone else saw him and said, “Yoʋ also are one of them.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not.”
Pwu akhasikhe khadebe, umunu uyuge akhambona akhata, “Nayeve ulipaninie nave.” U Peteri akhanda, “Vigosi uve, une sionene.”
59 After about an hour had gone by, another man kept insisting, “Truly this man also was with him, for he too is a Galilean.”
Baada ya khavalino khamo ugosi yumo akhamumilincha akhata, “Lweli umunu uyu mwope akhale paninie nawe, ulwakhuva Ngalilo ya.”
60 But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what yoʋ are talking about!” And immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.
Pwu u Peteri akhanchova, “Vigosi uve, sanelemayile uliwunchova.” Avileinchova, ilikhogove likhavikha.
61 Then the Lord turned and looked at Peter, and Peter remembered what the Lord had said to him, “Before a rooster crows, yoʋ will deny me three times.”
Akhasyetukha, Untwa akhandola U Peteri. Nu Peteri akha kumbukha ilimenyu lya Ntwa pala upwuambulile, “Wulikhale ukhuvekha ilikhogove vukhumbela une mara khadatu.”
62 And Peter went out and wept bitterly.
Akhaluta khunji, u Peteri akhalila khukhisa lweli.
63 Now the men who were holding Jesus in custody began mocking him and beating him.
Vala avagosi avandolelaga u Yesu, valikhukhinda nukhu ntova.
64 They also blindfolded him and kept striking his face, saying to him, “Prophesy! Who is it that struck yoʋ?”
Vakhagubekha amikho, vakhambuncha, vakhata, “Langula! Veni uveakhutovile?”
65 And they said many other things against him, reviling him.
Vakhanchova inogwa inyingi incho savombele u Yesu nukhumbeda umwene.
66 When daybreak came, the elders of the people gathered together, both chief priests and scribes, and they led Jesus up to their Sanhedrin and said,
Wavilevukhile panavusikhu, avangyakhoni vakhalundamana paninie, navavahavavatwa na vasimbi.
67 “If yoʋ are the Christ, tell us.” But he said to them, “If I tell you, you will surely not believe.
Vakhaghilikha khubalasa, Vakhata, “Unane uve vevekreste utuvule.'
68 And if I ask you a question, you will surely not answer me or release me.
'Umwene akhavavula, “Ndanivavula, samukhanyedeke, Ndanivavunche, samukhanyande.”
69 But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”
Ukhutegulila lino nukhwendelela, umwana va Ndaveti iva atemile khukhivoko ikhyandyo ikhya Nguluve.”
70 So they all said, “Are yoʋ then the Son of God?” He said to them, “You yourselves say that I am.”
Voni vakhanchova, “Khwukhwuta uve ulemwana va Nguluve?” Pwu u Yesu akhavavula, umwe munchovile une nene.”
71 Then they said, “What further need do we have of testimony? For we ourselves have heard it from his own mouth.”
Vakhanchova, “Khekhi tupilonda uvusaidi? Ulwakhava nayofwe tupulikhe ukhuhuma mondomo gwa mwene.”
