Luke 12
1 Meanwhile, when the crowd had gathered together by the thousands, so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples: “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
౧అంతలో వేలకొద్దీ ప్రజలు పోగయి ఒకరినొకరు తొక్కుకుంటూ ఉన్నారు. అప్పుడు ఆయన మొదట తన శిష్యులతో ఇలా చెప్పనారంభించాడు. “పరిసయ్యుల పులిసిన పిండిని గురించి అంటే వారి వేషధారణ విషయం జాగ్రత్త పడండి.
2 There is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and nothing hidden that will not be made known.
౨కప్పి పెట్టింది ఏదీ బట్టబయలు కాకపోదు. రహస్యమైనదేదీ తెలియకుండా ఉండదు.
3 Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in anyone's ear in private rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.
౩అందుకని మీరు చీకటిలో మాట్లాడేవి వెలుగులో వినబడతాయి. గదుల్లో చెప్పుకునేవి ఇంటి కప్పుల పైన చాటిస్తారు.
4 “I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more they can do.
౪నా స్నేహితులైన మీకు నేను చెప్పేదేమిటంటే దేహాన్ని చంపడం మినహా మరేమీ చేయలేని వాడికి భయపడవద్దు.
5 But I will tell you whom you should fear: Fear him who has authority to throw you into hell after your body has been killed. Yes, I tell you, fear him! (Geenna g1067)
౫ఎవరికి మీరు భయపడాలో చెబుతాను. చంపిన తరువాత నరకంలో పడవేసే శక్తి గల వాడికి భయపడండి. ఆయనకే భయపడమని మీకు చెబుతున్నాను. (Geenna g1067)
6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten in the sight of God.
౬ఐదు పిచ్చుకలను రెండు కాసులకు అమ్ముతారు కదా. అయినా వాటిలో ఒక్కదాన్ని కూడా దేవుడు మర్చిపోడు.
7 Indeed, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows.
౭మీ తలవెంట్రుకలన్నిటికీ లెక్క ఉంది. భయపడకండి. మీరు ఎన్నో పిచ్చుకల కంటే విలువైన వారు కదా.
8 “I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God,
౮ఇంకా మీతో చెప్పేదేమిటంటే, నన్ను మనుషుల ముందు ఎవరు అంగీకరిస్తాడో వాణ్ణి మనుష్య కుమారుడు దేవుని దూతల ముందు అంగీకరిస్తాడు.
9 but whoever denies me before men will be denied before the angels of God.
౯మనుషుల ముందు నేనెవరో తెలియదు అనే వారి గురించి నేను కూడా దేవుని దూతల ముందు వారెవరో నాకు తెలియదు అని చెబుతాను.
10 And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.
౧౦మనుష్య కుమారుడికి వ్యతిరేకంగా ఏదన్నా మాట అనే వాడికి పాపక్షమాపణ కలుగుతుంది గానీ పరిశుద్ధాత్మను దూషిస్తే వాడికి క్షమాపణ లేదు.
11 When you are brought before synagogues, rulers, and authorities, do not be anxious about how or what you should speak in your own defense, or what you should say,
౧౧వారు సమాజమందిరాల్లో పెద్దల దగ్గరకూ అధిపతుల దగ్గరకూ అధికారుల దగ్గరకూ మిమ్మల్ని తీసుకు వెళ్ళేటప్పుడు అక్కడ ఎలా జవాబివ్వాలా, ఏం మాట్లాడాలా అని చింత పడవద్దు.
12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you should say.”
౧౨మీరు ఏం చెప్పాలో ఆ సమయంలోనే పరిశుద్ధాత్మ మీకు నేర్పిస్తాడు.”
13 Then someone from among the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the family inheritance with me.”
౧౩ఆ జనసమూహంలో ఒకడు, “ఉపదేశకా, వారసత్వంగా వచ్చిన ఆస్తిలో నాకు భాగం పంచమని మా అన్నయ్యతో చెప్పండి” అన్నాడు.
14 But Jesus said to him, “Man, who appointed me as a judge or arbitrator over you?”
౧౪అందుకు ఆయన, “ఏమయ్యా, మీ మీద పెద్దమనిషిగా మధ్యవర్తిగానో నన్నెవరు నియమించారు?” అన్నాడు.
15 Then he said to them, “Watch out and be on your guard against covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”
౧౫ఆయన ఇంకా వారితో ఇలా అన్నాడు, “మీరు అత్యాశకు చోటివ్వకండి. జీవం అంటే సంపదలు విస్తరించడం కాదు.”
16 And he told them a parable: “The land of a certain rich man produced abundantly.
౧౬తరువాత ఆయన వారికి ఈ ఉపమానం చెప్పాడు. “ఒక ధనవంతుడి భూమి బాగా దిగుబడి ఇచ్చింది.
17 So he thought to himself, ‘What should I do, for I do not have anywhere to store my crops?’
౧౭అప్పుడు అతడు ఇలా ఆలోచించాడు, ‘నా పంట సమకూర్చుకోడానికి నాకు స్థలం చాలదు. కాబట్టి నేనేం చేయాలి? ఇలా చేస్తాను.
18 Then he said, ‘This is what I will do: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my produce and my goods.
౧౮నా గిడ్డంగులు పడగొట్టి ఇంకా పెద్దవి కట్టిస్తాను. వాటిలో నా ధాన్యమంతటినీ, నా ఆస్తి అంతటినీ నిల్వ చేస్తాను.
19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, yoʋ have many goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, and be merry.”’
౧౯అప్పుడు నా ప్రాణంతో ‘ప్రాణమా, ఎన్నో సంవత్సరాలకు సరిపడే తరగని ఆస్తి నీ కోసం సమకూర్చాను. సుఖపడు, తిను, తాగు, సంతోషంగా ఉండు’ అని చెబుతాను’ అనుకున్నాడు.
20 But God said to him, ‘Yoʋ fool! This very night yoʋr life will be demanded back from yoʋ, and the things yoʋ have prepared, whose will they be?’
౨౦అయితే దేవుడు అతడితో, ‘మూర్ఖుడా! ఈ రాత్రి నీ ప్రాణం అడుగుతున్నాను. నువ్వు కూడబెట్టినవి ఎవరివి అవుతాయి?’ అని అతనితో అన్నాడు.
21 This is how it will be with anyone who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”
౨౧దేవుని విషయంలో ధనవంతుడు కాకుండా తన కోసమే సమకూర్చుకునే వాడు అలాగే ఉంటాడు” అన్నాడు.
22 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear.
౨౨తరువాత యేసు తన శిష్యులతో ఇలా చెప్పాడు, “అందుచేత ఏం తింటామని మీ ప్రాణం కోసమో, ఏం కట్టుకుంటామని మీ శరీరం కోసమో మధన పడవద్దు.
23 Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
౨౩ఆహారం కంటే ప్రాణం, వస్త్రం కంటే దేహం గొప్పవి కావా?
24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap; they have no storehouse or barn, yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than birds?
౨౪కాకుల గురించి ఆలోచించండి. అవి విత్తనాలు చల్లవు, కోయవు, వాటికి గిడ్డంగులూ, కొట్లూ లేవు. అయినా వాటిని దేవుడు పోషిస్తున్నాడు. మీరు పక్షులకంటే ఎంతో ఉన్నతమైన వారు.
25 Which of you by being anxious can add a single moment to yoʋr span of life?
౨౫పైగా మీలో ఎవడు చింత పడడం వల్ల తన ఎత్తును ఒక మూరెడు ఎక్కువ చేసుకోగలడు?
26 If then you cannot even do a very little thing like that, why are you anxious about the rest?
౨౬కాబట్టి చిన్న చిన్న విషయాలే మీరు చేయలేకపోతే పెద్దవాటిని గురించి ఆలోచించడం ఎందుకు? పువ్వులు ఎలా పూస్తున్నాయో చూడండి.
27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: They do not toil or spin, yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these.
౨౭అవి కష్టపడవు, బట్టలు నేయవు. అయినా తన వైభవమంతటితో సహా సొలొమోనుకున్న అలంకరణ ఈ పూలలో ఏ ఒక్కదాని అలంకరణకీ సరి తూగదని మీకు చెబుతున్నాను.
28 Now if God so clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith?
౨౮అల్ప విశ్వాసులారా, ఈ వేళ పొలంలో ఉండి, రేపు పొయ్యిలో వేసే అడవి గడ్డినే దేవుడిలా అలంకరిస్తే మీకు మరి ఎంతో ఖాయంగా బట్టలిస్తాడు గదా.
29 And do not be concerned about what you will eat or what you will drink; do not be anxious about such things.
౨౯ఏం తింటాం, ఏం తాగుతాం అని దిగులు పెట్టుకోకండి. చింతించకండి.
30 For the nations of the world seek after all these things, and your Father knows that you need them.
౩౦లోకులు వీటిని వెతుకుతారు. ఇవి మీకు కావాలని మీ తండ్రికి తెలుసు.
31 Rather, seek the kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to you.
౩౧మీరు మాత్రం ఆయన రాజ్యాన్ని వెదకండి. దానితోపాటుగా ఇవి కూడా మీకు లభిస్తాయి.
32 Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom.
౩౨చిన్న మందా, భయపడకండి. మీకు రాజ్యాన్నివ్వడం మీ తండ్రికి ఇష్టం.
33 Sell your possessions and give to the needy. Make yourselves moneybags that do not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.
౩౩మీకు ఉన్నవాటిని అమ్మి దాన ధర్మాలు చేయండి. పరలోకంలో పాతగిలిపోని డబ్బు సంచులనూ, నాశనం కాని ధనాన్నీ సంపాదించుకోండి. అక్కడికి దొంగ రాడు, పురుగు పట్టదు.
34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
౩౪మీ డబ్బు ఎక్కడ ఉంటుందో మీ హృదయం అక్కడే ఉంటుంది.
35 “Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning,
౩౫“మీ నడుము బిగించుకుని ఉండండి. మీ దీపాలు వెలుగుతూ ఉండనివ్వండి.
36 like men who are waiting for their master to return from a wedding feast, so that they may immediately open the door for him when he comes and knocks.
౩౬యజమాని ఎప్పుడు వస్తాడో అని అతని కోసం ఎదురు చూస్తూ అతడు పెండ్లి విందు నుండి వచ్చి తలుపు కొట్టగానే తలుపు తీసే సేవకుల్లా ఉండండి.
37 Blessed are those servants whom their master finds keeping watch when he comes. Truly I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at the table, and he will come and serve them.
౩౭యజమాని వచ్చి ఏ సేవకులు మెలకువగా ఉండడం చూస్తాడో ఆ దాసులు ధన్యులు. అప్పుడు అతడు తన నడుం కట్టుకుని వారిని భోజనానికి కూర్చోబెట్టి, వారికి తానే పరిచర్య చేస్తాడని మీకు కచ్చితంగా చెబుతున్నాను.
38 If he comes in the second watch or the third watch and finds them doing so, blessed are those servants.
౩౮అతడు రాత్రి రెండవ జాములో వచ్చినా, మూడవ జాములో వచ్చినా ఏ సేవకులు మెలకువగా ఉండడం చూస్తాడో ఆ సేవకులు ధన్యులు.
39 But know this: If the master of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.
౩౯దొంగ ఏ సమయంలో వస్తాడో ఇంటి యజమానికి తెలిస్తే అతడు మెలకువగా ఉండి తన ఇంటికి కన్నం వేయనివ్వడని తెలుసుకోండి.
40 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect him.”
౪౦మీరు ఊహించని సమయంలో మనుష్య కుమారుడు వస్తాడు కాబట్టి మీరు కూడా సిద్ధంగా ఉండండి” అని వారికి చెప్పాడు.
41 Then Peter said to him, “Lord, are yoʋ telling this parable only for us, or for everyone else as well?”
౪౧అప్పుడు పేతురు, “ప్రభూ ఈ ఉపమానం మా కోసమే చెబుతున్నావా లేక అందరి కోసం చెబుతున్నావా?” అని ఆయనను అడిగాడు.
42 The Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his master will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time?
౪౨దానికి ప్రభువు ఇలా అన్నాడు, “సరైన సమయంలో అందరికీ ఆహారం పెట్టడానికి యజమానుడు తన ఇంటిపై నియమించే నమ్మకమైన, బుద్ధిగల నిర్వాహకుడెవడు?
43 Blessed is that servant whom his master finds so doing when he comes.
౪౩యజమాని వచ్చి ఏ పనివాడు ఆ విధంగా చేయడం చూస్తాడో ఆ పనివాడు ధన్యుడు.
44 Truly I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions.
౪౪అప్పుడు ఆ యజమాని తన ఆస్తి అంతటి మీదా అతణ్ణి ఉంచుతాడని మీకు చెబుతున్నాను.
45 But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delayed in coming,’ and he begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and get drunk,
౪౫అయితే ఆ పనివాడు నా యజమాని ఆలస్యం చేస్తున్నాడని మనసులో అనుకుని తోటి దాసదాసీలను కొట్టడం, తిని తాగి మత్తెక్కి ఉండడం చేస్తే
46 the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not foresee, and will cut him in two and assign his portion to be with the unfaithful.
౪౬వాడు ఎదురు చూడని రోజున తెలియని సమయంలో యజమాని వస్తాడు. వాణ్ణి కఠినంగా శిక్షించి నమ్మదగని వారి గతే వాడికి పట్టేలా చేస్తాడు.
47 That servant who knew his master's will, but did not prepare himself or act according to his will, will be beaten with many lashes.
౪౭తన యజమాని ఇష్టం తెలిసి కూడా సిద్ధపడకుండా, ఆయన ఇష్ట ప్రకారం చేయకుండా ఉండే సేవకుడికి చాలా దెబ్బలు తగులుతాయి.
48 But the one who did not know his master's will, yet did what deserved a beating, will be beaten with few lashes. From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from him to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded.
౪౮దెబ్బలకు తగిన పనులు చేసినా తెలియక చేసిన వాడికి తక్కువ దెబ్బలే తగులుతాయి. ఎవరికి ఎక్కువగా ఇచ్చారో అతని దగ్గర ఎక్కువగా తీసుకుంటారు. మనుషులు ఎవరికి ఎక్కువ అప్పగిస్తారో వారి దగ్గరే ఎక్కువగా అడుగుతారు.
49 “I have come to bring fire to the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!
౪౯“నేను భూమి మీద అగ్ని వేయడానికి వచ్చాను. అది ఇప్పటికే రగులుకుని మండాలని ఎంతగానో కోరుతున్నాను.
50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how consumed I am with it until it is completed!
౫౦అయితే నేను పొందాల్సిన బాప్తిసం ఉంది. అది జరిగే వరకూ నేను చాలా ఇబ్బంది పడుతున్నాను.
51 Do you think I have come to grant peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division.
౫౧నేను భూమి మీద శాంతిని స్థాపించడానికి వచ్చానని మీరు అనుకుంటున్నారా? కానే కాదు. నేను చీలికలు కలగజేయడానికే వచ్చానని మీకు చెబుతున్నాను.
52 For from now on five in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three.
౫౨ఇక నుండి ఒక ఇంట్లో ఉండే ఐదుగురు వేరుపడి ఇద్దరికి విరోధంగా ముగ్గురూ, ముగ్గురికి విరోధంగా ఇద్దరూ ఉంటారు.
53 Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”
౫౩తండ్రి కొడుక్కీ, కొడుకు తండ్రికీ, తల్లి కూతురుకీ, కూతురు తల్లికీ, అత్త కోడలికీ, కోడలు అత్తకూ విరోధులుగా ఉంటారు” అని చెప్పాడు.
54 Jesus also said to the crowds, “When you see a cloud rising from the west, you immediately say, ‘A rainstorm is coming,’ and that is what happens.
౫౪తరవాత ఆయన జనసమూహాలతో ఇలా అన్నాడు, “మీరు పడమర నుండి మబ్బు పైకి రావడం చూసేటప్పుడు వాన వస్తుందని వెంటనే చెప్పేస్తారు. అలాగే జరుగుతుంది.
55 And when you see the south wind blowing, you say, ‘There will be scorching heat,’ and it happens.
౫౫దక్షిణపు గాలి వీయడం చూసేటప్పుడు వడగాలి కొడుతుందని చెబుతారు. అలాగే జరుగుతుంది.
56 Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky, so why can you not interpret this present time?
౫౬కపట భక్తులారా, మీరు భూమి, ఆకాశాల ధోరణులను గుర్తిస్తారు గానీ ఇప్పటి కాలం తీరు గుర్తించలేక పోతున్నారు.
57 “Why do you not judge for yourselves what is right?
౫౭ఏది న్యాయమో మీ అంతట మీరే ఎందుకు ఆలోచించరు?
58 As yoʋ are going with yoʋr adversary before the magistrate, make an effort to settle with him on the way, lest he drag yoʋ to the judge, and the judge hand yoʋ over to the officer, and the officer throw yoʋ into prison.
౫౮మీపై నేరారోపణ చేసే వాడితో కలసి న్యాయాధికారి దగ్గరికి వెళ్తున్నప్పుడు దారిలోనే అతనితో రాజీపడే ప్రయత్నం చెయ్యి. లేకుంటే అతడు నిన్ను న్యాయాధిపతి దగ్గరికి లాక్కుపోతాడు. ఆ న్యాయాధిపతి నిన్ను భటుడికి అప్పగిస్తాడు. ఆ భటుడు నిన్ను జైల్లో పెడతాడు.
59 I tell yoʋ, yoʋ will certainly not come out of there until yoʋ have paid the very last cent.”
౫౯చివరి పైసా చెల్లించేంత వరకూ నువ్వు బయటకు రానే రావని నీకు చెబుతున్నాను.” అన్నాడు.
