Hebrews 10
1 For in the law there was a shadow of the good things to come; not the substance of the things themselves. Therefore, although the same sacrifices were every year offered, they could never perfect those who offered them.
Das Gesetz ist nur ein Schattenbild der künftigen Heilsgüter, nicht aber das wahre Bild der Wirklichkeit. Trotz der gleichen Opfer, die man Jahr für Jahr unaufhörlich darbringt, ist es nicht imstande, die Opfernden zu vollenden.
2 For, if they had perfected them, they would long ago have desisted from their offerings; because their conscience could no more disquiet them, who were once purified, on account of their sins.
Oder hätte man nicht aufgehört, sie darzubringen, wenn die Opfernden sich frei von Sünden wüßten und wenn sie ein für allemal gereinigt wären?
3 But in those sacrifices, they every year recognized their sins.
Im Gegenteil, durch die Opfer werden wir Jahr für Jahr nur an die Sünden recht erinnert.
4 For the blood of bulls and of goats cannot purge away sins.
Unmöglich kann das Blut von Stieren und Böcken Sünden tilgen.
5 Therefore, when entering the world, he said: In sacrifices and oblations, thou hast not had pleasure; but thou hast clothed me with a body.
Deshalb sagt er auch bei seinem Eintritt in die Welt: "Du willst keine Opfer und keine Gaben; einen Leib aber hast Du mir geschaffen.
6 And holocausts on account of sins, thou hast not asked.
An Brand- und Sündopfern hast Du keinen Gefallen.
7 Then I said: Behold I come, as it is written of me in the beginning of the books, to do thy pleasure, O God.
Da sprach ich: Siehe, ich bin da; es steht in der Buchrolle von mir geschrieben, daß ich, o Gott, Deinen Willen vollbringen soll."
8 He first said: Sacrifices and oblations and holocausts for sins, which were offered according to the law, thou desiredst not;
Zuerst sagt er: Du willst keine Opfer und Gaben, nicht Brand- noch Sündopfer, und hast daran kein Wohlgefallen. Es sind dies Opfer, wie man sie nach dem Gesetze darbringt.
9 and afterwards he said: Behold I come to do thy pleasure, O God: hereby, he abolished the former, that he might establish the latter.
Dann aber fährt er fort: "Siehe, ich bin da, um Deinen Willen zu erfüllen." Damit hebt er das erste auf, um das zweite als maßgebend zu kennzeichnen.
10 For by this his pleasure, we are sanctified; through the offering of the body of Jesus the Messiah a single time.
Kraft dieses Willens sind wir ein für allemal geheiligt durch die Hingabe des Leibes Jesu Christi.
11 For every high priest who stood and ministered daily, offered again and again the same sacrifices, which never were sufficient to purge away sins.
Jeder Priester steht im heiligen Dienste Tag für Tag und bringt immer wieder nur die gleichen Opfer dar, die doch nie die Sünden tilgen können.
12 But this Priest offered one sacrifice for sins, and for ever sat down at the right hand of God;
Dieser aber hat das eine Opfer für die Sünden dargebracht und sich alsdann für immer zur Rechten Gottes gesetzt,
13 and thenceforth waited, until his foes should be placed as a footstool under his feet.
um abzuwarten, bis ihm seine Feinde als Schemel zu Füßen gelegt sind.
14 For by one offering, he hath perfected for ever, them who are sanctified by him.
Ja, durch ein einziges Opfer hat er für alle Zeit die vollendet, die heilig werden wollen.
15 And the Holy Spirit also testifieth to us, by saying:
Das bezeugt uns auch der Heilige Geist; denn nach den Worten:
16 This is the covenant which I will give them after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my law into their minds, and inscribe it on their hearts;
"Dieses ist mein Bund, den ich nach jenen Tagen mit ihnen schließen will", spricht der Herr: "Ich lege meine Gesetze in ihre Herzen und schreibe sie in ihr Inneres,
17 and their iniquity and their sins, I will not remember against them.
und ich will ihrer Sünden und Vergehen nicht mehr gedenken."
18 Now, where there is a remission of sins, there is no offering for sin demanded.
Wo aber diese vergeben sind, bedarf es keines Opfers mehr der Sünde wegen.
19 We have therefore, my brethren, assurance in entering into the sanctuary, by the blood of Jesus, and by a way of life,
Liebe Brüder, wir besitzen also voll Zuversicht die Hoffnung, das Heiligtum im Blute Jesu zu betreten,
20 which he hath now consecrated for us, through the veil, that is his flesh.
wohin er uns einen neuen und lebendigen Weg aufgetan hat, durch den Vorhang hindurch, das heißt durch seinen Leib.
21 And we have a high priest over the house of God.
Und da wir auch einen hocherhabenen Priester haben, der über dem Hause Gottes waltet,
22 Let us, therefore draw near, with a true heart, and with the confidence of faith, being sprinkled as to our hearts, and pure from an evil conscience, and our body being washed with pure water.
laßt uns aufrichtigen Herzens hintreten, in vollem Glauben, die Herzen rein vom sündigen Gewissen, den Leib mit reinem Wasser abgewaschen.
23 And let us persevere in the profession of our hope, and not waver; for he is faithful who hath made the promise to us.
Wir wollen unerschütterlich am Bekenntnis unserer Hoffnung festhalten. Getreu ist der, der die Verheißungen gegeben hat.
24 And let us look on each other, for the excitement of love and good works.
Sorgfältig wollen wir einander im Auge behalten, um uns zur Liebe und zu guten Werken anzuspornen.
25 And let us not forsake our meetings, as is the custom of some; but entreat ye one another; and the more, as ye see that day draw near.
Bleiben wir doch unserer Versammlung nicht fern, wie einige die Gewohnheit haben; vielmehr ermuntern wir uns gegenseitig, und dies um so mehr, je näher ihr den "Tag" erscheinen seht.
26 For if a man sin, voluntarily, after he hath received a knowledge of the truth, there is no longer a sacrifice which may be offered for sins:
Denn wenn wir freiwillig sündigen, nachdem wir schon die Wahrheit voll erfaßt haben, dann gibt es kein Opfer für die Sünden mehr;
27 but the fearful judgment impendeth, and the zeal of fire that consumeth the adversaries.
wohl aber wartet unser dann ein furchtbares Gericht sowie die Glut des Feuers, das künftig die Widersacher verzehren wird.
28 For if he, who transgressed the law of Moses, died without mercies, at the mouth of two or three witnesses;
Wenn jemand das Gesetz des Moses übertritt, so muß er ohne Erbarmen sterben auf Aussage von zwei oder drei Zeugen hin.
29 how much more, think ye, will he receive capital punishment, who hath trodden upon the Son of God, and hath accounted the blood of his covenant, by which he is sanctified, as the blood of all men, and hath treated the Spirit of grace with contumely?
Welch größere Strafe wird dann der erleiden müssen, der den Sohn Gottes mit Füßen tritt und das Blut des Bundes, durch das er geheiligt ward, für gemein erachtet und so den Geist der Liebe höhnt.
30 For we know him who hath said, Retribution is mine; and I will repay: and again, The Lord will judge his people.
Wir kennen doch den, der da sprach: "Mein ist die Rache; ich will vergelten"; und weiter noch: "Der Herr wird sein Volk richten."
31 It is very terrible, to fall into the hands of the living God.
Furchtbar ist es, in die Hände des lebendigen Gottes zu fallen.
32 Therefore, recollect ye the former days, those in which ye received baptism, and endured a great conflict of sufferings, with reproach and affliction;
Gedenket der vergangenen Tage, da ihr nach eurer Erleuchtung so viele Leidenskämpfe bestanden habt.
33 and ye were a gazing stock, and also were the associates of persons who endured these things:
Bald wurdet ihr an den Pranger gestellt mit Schmähungen und Bedrängnissen, bald nahmt ihr teil am Schicksal solcher, denen es so erging.
34 and ye were grieved for those who were imprisoned; and ye cheerfully endured the plundering of your goods, because ye knew that ye had a possession in heaven, superior and not transitory.
Ihr habt mit den Gefangenen gelitten und den Raub eurer Habe mit Freuden hingenommen, wohl wissend, daß ihr Besseres und Bleibendes besitzt.
35 Therefore cast not away your assurance which is to have a great reward.
Werft euren Bekennermut doch nicht weg! Er hat einen großen Lohn.
36 For ye have need of patience; that ye may do the pleasure of God, and may receive the promise.
Standhaftigkeit braucht ihr, daß ihr den Willen Gottes tut und das erlangt, was er verheißen hat:
37 Because, yet a little, and it is a very little time, when he that cometh, will come, and will not delay.
"Nur noch eine ganz kleine Weile, und dann kommt der, der kommen soll; er zögert nicht.
38 Now the just by my faith, will live: but if he draw back, my soul will not have pleasure in him.
Und mein Gerechter, der es aus dem Glauben ist, wird leben. Zieht er sich aber feig zurück, alsdann hat meine Seele an ihm kein Wohlgefallen."
39 But we are not of that drawing-back, which leadeth to perdition; but of that faith, which maketh us possess our soul.
Doch wir gehören nicht zu denen, die sich zu ihrem Untergang zurückziehen, vielmehr zu denen, die im Glauben ihre Seele retten.
