Acts 3
1 And it occurred, as Simon Cephas and John went together up to the temple, at the time of prayer, being the ninth hour,
Nowe Peter and Iohn went vp together into the Temple, at the ninth houre of prayer.
2 that, lo, those accustomed to bring a man lame from his mother's womb, brought him and laid him at the gate of the temple called Beautiful; that he might ask alms of those going into the temple.
And a certaine man which was a creeple from his mothers wombe, was caried, whom they layde dayly at the gate of the Temple called Beautifull, to aske almes of them that entred into ye Temple.
3 This man, when he saw Simon and John going into the temple, asked them to give him alms.
Who seeing Peter and Iohn, that they would enter into the Temple, desired to receiue an almes.
4 And Simon and John looked on him, and said to him: Look on us.
And Peter earnestly beholding him with Iohn, said, Looke on vs.
5 And he looked on them, expecting to receive something from them.
And hee gaue heede vnto them, trusting to receiue some thing of them.
6 Simon said to him: Gold and silver, I have not; but what I have, I give to thee; in the name of our Lord Jesus Messiah, the Nazarean, rise up and walk.
Then said Peter, Siluer and gold haue I none, but such as I haue, that giue I thee: In the Name of Iesus Christ of Nazareth, rise vp and walke.
7 And he took him by the right hand, and raised him up: and forthwith, his feet and his heels recovered strength.
And hee tooke him by the right hand, and lift him vp, and immediately his feete and ankle bones receiued strength.
8 And he sprang, stood up, and walked: and he entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
And he leaped vp, stoode, and walked, and entred with them into the Temple, walking and leaping, and praysing God.
9 And all the people saw him, as he walked and praised God.
And all the people sawe him walke, and praysing God.
10 And they knew that he was the beggar, who sat daily and asked alms, at the gate called Beautiful: and they were filled with wonder and admiration at what had occurred.
And they knewe him, that it was he which sate for the almes at the Beautifull gate of the Temple: and they were amased, and sore astonied at that, which was come vnto him.
11 And as he held fast to Simon and John, all the people admiring ran to them at the portico called Solomon's.
And as the creeple which was healed, held Peter and Iohn, all the people ranne amased vnto them in the porch which is called Salomons.
12 And when Simon saw it, he answered and said to them: Men, sons of Israel, why do ye wonder at this? or why do ye gaze on us, as if by our own power or authority we had made this man to walk?
So when Peter saw it, he answered vnto the people, Ye me of Israel, why marueile ye at this? or why looke ye so stedfastly on vs, as though by our owne power or godlines, we had made this man go?
13 The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he would have justified him and set him free.
The God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Iacob, the God of our fathers hath glorified his Sonne Iesus, whom ye betrayed, and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had iudged him to be deliuered.
14 But ye denied the holy and just One, and demanded that a murderer should be released to you.
But ye denied the Holy one and the Iust, and desired a murtherer to be giuen you,
15 And that Prince of life ye slew; and him, hath God raised from the dead, and all of us are witnesses of it.
And killed the Lord of life, whome God hath raised from the dead, whereof we are witnesses.
16 And, by the faith in his name, he hath strengthened and cured this man, whom ye see and know; and faith in him hath given the man this soundness before you all.
And his Name hath made this man sound, whom ye see, and know, through faith in his Name: and the faith which is by him, hath giuen to him this perfite health of his whole body in the presence of you all.
17 And now, my brethren, I know that through misapprehensions ye did this, as did also your chiefs:
And now brethren, I know that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your gouernours.
18 and God, according as he had previously announced by the mouth of all the prophets that the Messiah would suffer, hath in this manner fulfilled it.
But those thinges which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his Prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath thus fulfilled.
19 Repent, therefore, and be converted; that so your sins may be blotted out,
Amend your liues therefore, and turne, that your sinnes may be put away, whe the time of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
20 and times of rest may come to you from before the face of the Lord; and he may send to you him, who was made ready for you, Jesus the Messiah:
And he shall sende Iesus Christ, which before was preached vnto you,
21 whom the heavens must retain, until the completion of the times of those things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of his holy prophets of old. (aiōn g165)
Whome the heauen must containe vntill the time that all thinges be restored, which God had spoken by the mouth of all his holy Prophets since the world began. (aiōn g165)
22 For Moses said: A prophet, like me, will the Lord raise up to you, from among your brethren; to him hearken ye, in all that he shall say to you.
For Moses said vnto the Fathers, The Lord your God shall raise vp vnto you a Prophet, euen of your brethren, like vnto me: ye shall heare him in all things, whatsoeuer he shall say vnto you.
23 And it will be, that every soul who will not hearken to that prophet, that soul shall perish from his people.
For it shalbe that euery person which shall not heare that Prophet, shall be destroyed out of the people.
24 And all the prophets that have been, from Samuel and those after him, have spoken and proclaimed of these days.
Also all the Prophets from Samuel, and thencefoorth as many as haue spoken, haue likewise foretolde of these dayes.
25 Ye are the children of the prophets: and that covenant which God made with our fathers, when he said to Abraham, that in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed,
Ye are the children of the Prophets, and of the couenant, which God hath made vnto our fathers, saying to Abraham, Euen in thy seede shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
26 he hath first established to you: and God hath sent his Son to bless you, if ye will be converted, and repent of your wickedness.
First vnto you hath God raysed vp his Sonne Iesus, and him hee hath sent to blesse you, in turning euery one of you from your iniquities.
