Revelation 9
1 AND the Fifth angel sounded. And I saw a star which fell from heaven unto the earth and there was given to him the key of the pit of the abyss. (Abyssos g12)
Und der fünfte Engel posaunte, und ich sah einen Stern aus dem Himmel zur Erde fallen, und es ward ihm der Schlüssel des Brunnens des Abgrundes gegeben. (Abyssos g12)
2 And he opened the pit of the abyss, and smoke ascended from the pit, as the smoke of a burning furnace; and the sun was darkened, and the air, from the smoke of the pit. (Abyssos g12)
Und er tat den Brunnen des Abgrundes auf; und ein Rauch stieg auf aus dem Brunnen, wie der Rauch eines großen Ofens, und die Sonne und die Luft wurden verfinstert von dem Rauche des Brunnens. (Abyssos g12)
3 And from the smoke came forth locusts upon the earth. And there was given to them power such as scorpions have upon the earth.
Und aus dem Rauche kamen Heuschrekken hervor auf die Erde, und es ward ihnen Gewalt gegeben, wie die Skorpione der Erde Gewalt haben.
4 And it was told them, that they should not hurt the herbage of the earth, nor any green (thing), nor any tree, but only those men who had not the seal of Aloha upon their foreheads.
Und es ward ihnen gesagt, daß sie nicht sollten schädigen das Gras der Erde, noch irgend etwas Grünes, noch irgendwelchen Baum, sondern bloß die Menschen, die das Siegel Gottes nicht auf ihren Stirnen haben.
5 And it was given them, that they should not kill them, but torture them five months. And their torture was as the torture of a scorpion when he striketh a man.
Und es ward ihnen gegeben, daß sie sie nicht töteten, sondern sie fünf Monate quälten, und die Qual war wie die Qual vom Skorpion, wenn er einen Menschen sticht.
6 And in those days men shall seek death, and shall not find; and shall desire to die, and death will flee from them.
Und in jenen Tagen werden die Menschen den Tod suchen und ihn nicht finden; und zu sterben begehren, und der Tod wird vor ihnen fliehen.
7 And the likeness of those locusts (was this): they resemble the appearance of horses prepared for battle. And upon their heads (was) a crown of the likeness of gold; and their faces (were) as the faces of men.
Und die Gestalten der Heuschrecken glichen zum Streit bereiteten Rossen, und auf ihren Häuptern hatten sie Kronen, dem Golde gleichend, und ihre Angesichter wie der Menschen Angesichter.
8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as of lions;
Und sie hatten Haare wie der Weiber Haare, und ihre Zähne waren wie der Löwen.
9 and they had breast-plates as breast-plates of iron, and the sound of their wings was as the sound of the chariots of many horses running to battle.
Und hatten Panzer, wie eiserne Panzer, und das Rauschen ihrer Flügel war wie das Rasseln von Streitwagen vieler Rosse, die in den Streit rennen.
10 And they had tails like those of scorpions, and stings; and in their tails they have power to hurt men five months.
Und Schwänze haben sie gleich den Skorpionen, und Stacheln waren an ihren Schwänzen, und hatten Gewalt, die Menschen fünf Monate zu schädigen.
11 And they had a king over them, the angel of the abyss, and his name in Hebrew is Abadon; but in Javanith his name is Apolon. (Abyssos g12)
Und hatten über sich einen König, den Engel des Abgrundes, dessen Namen im Hebräischen ist Abaddon, und im Griechischen hat er den Namen Apollyon. (Abyssos g12)
12 One woe hath gone. Behold, two woes yet come after it.
Das eine Wehe ist vergangen. Siehe, es kommen noch zwei Wehe danach.
13 And the Sixth angel sounded. And I heard one voice from the horns of the altar of gold which was before Aloha,
Und der sechste Engel posaunte; und ich hörte eine Stimme aus den vier Hörnern des goldenen Altars vor Gott,
14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, Release the four angels which are bound in the great river Phraat.
Die sagte zu dem sechsten Engel, der die Posaune hatte: Löse die vier Engel, die an dem großen Fluß Euphrat gebunden sind!
15 And the four angels were released, they who were prepared for an hour, and for a day, and for a month, and for a year, to kill the third (part) of men.
Und die vier Engel wurden gelöst, welche auf Stunde und Tag und Monat und Jahr bereit waren, den dritten Teil der Men- schen zu töten.
16 And the number of the host of the horsemen was two myriads of myriads. I heard the number of them.
Und die Zahl der Heerscharen der Reiterei waren zwei Myriaden von Myriaden. Und ich hörte ihre Zahl.
17 And as I beheld those horses in the vision, and those who sat upon them, (I saw that) they had breast-plates of fire, and jacinth, and sulphur; and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions, and from their mouths went out fire, and smoke, and sulphur.
Und so sah ich die Rosse im Gesichte; und die auf ihnen saßen, hatten feuerrote, purpurblaue und schwefelfarbige Panzer; und die Häupter der Rosse waren wie der Löwen Häupter; und aus ihrem Munde ging aus Feuer, Rauch und Schwefel.
18 And by these three plagues were the third of men killed; from the fire, and from the smoke, and from the sulphur which went out of their mouths.
Und durch diese drei wurde das Drittel der Menschen getötet; durch das Feuer und durch den Rauch und durch den Schwefel, so aus ihrem Munde ausging.
19 For the power of the horses is in their mouth and in their tails: for their tails were like serpents which had heads, and with them they wound.
Denn ihre Gewalt ist in ihrem Munde. Denn ihre Schwänze sind gleich Schlangen und haben Häupter; und mit diesen schädigen sie.
20 And the rest of men who were not killed by those plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons and idols of gold and of silver and of brass and of stone and of wood, which can neither see nor hear;
Und die übrigen von den Menschen, die durch diese Plagen nicht getötet wurden, noch Buße taten für die Werke ihrer Hände, so daß sie nicht anbeteten die Dämonen, und die goldenen und die silbernen, und die ehernen und die steinernen und die hölzernen Götzen, die weder sehen, noch hören, noch wandeln können.
21 nor repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornications, nor of their robberies.
Und taten nicht Buße für ihre Morde, noch für ihre Zaubereien, noch für ihre Buhlerei, noch für ihre Diebereien.
