Hebrews 10
1 For there was in the law the shadow of good things to come, not the subsistence of the very things, therefore (though) every year the same sacrifices were offered they could never perfect those who offered them.
En effet, la Loi, ne contenant que l'ombre des biens à venir, et non l'image réelle des choses, ne peut jamais par ses sacrifices, toujours les mêmes et offerts sans cesse chaque année donner la parfaite pureté à ceux qui y prennent part.
2 For if they had perfected, they would have ceased afterward from the presentation of them; because the conscience of those who had been once purified by them would not henceforth have been troubled by (such) sins.
Autrement n'aurait-on pas cessé de les offrir, car ceux qui les offraient, une fois purifiés, n'auraient plus eu conscience de leurs péchés?
3 But in those sacrifices their sins are brought to remembrance every year.
Mais, au contraire, ces sacrifices eux-mêmes ravivaient chaque année le souvenir des péchés.
4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and of goats to purify (from) sins.
Car il est impossible que du sang de taureaux et de boucs effacent des péchés.
5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world he saith, Sacrifices and oblations thou hast not willed, but with a body hast thou clothed me:
Voilà pourquoi le Christ dit en entrant dans le monde: «Tu n'as pas voulu de sacrifice, ni d'offrande, Tu m'as formé un corps;
6 and entire burnt-offerings for sins thou hast not required.
les holocaustes, ni les offrandes pour le péché ne t'ont fait plaisir. »
7 Then said I, Behold, I come; in the sum of the books it is written concerning me, that I shall do thy will, Aloha.
J'ai dit alors: «Voici je viens (Dans le volume il est question de moi) Pour faire, Dieu, ta volonté.»
8 Above he said, Victims, and oblations, and entire burnt-offerings for sin thou hast not willed; those which are offered in the law.
Après avoir commencé par dire: «Tu n'as voulu ni sacrifices, ni oblations, ni holocaustes, ni offrandes pour le péché, et tu n'y as pas pris plaisir, » (Tout cela cependant est offert d'après la Loi, )
9 And afterwards he said, Behold, I come, that I may do thy will, Aloha. In this he hath done away with the first, that he may establish the second.
il ajoute: «Voici je viens pour faire ta volonté.» Il supprime le premier point pour établir le second,
10 For by this his will we are sanctified by the offering of the body of Jeshu Meshiha, which was once.
et c'est grâce à cette volonté que nous sommes sanctifiés une fois pour toutes, nous qui le sommes par le sacrifice du corps de Jésus-Christ.
11 For every high priest who stood and ministered every day, offered the same sacrifices, which can never purify (from) sins.
De plus, chaque prêtre se présente tous les jours et officie, offrant des sacrifices, souvent les mêmes et qui ne peuvent pas effacer les péchés.
12 But this one sacrifice hath offered for sins, and hath sat down at the right hand of Aloha for ever:
Lui, au contraire, n'a offert qu'un seul sacrifice pour les péchés, puis «S'est assis» pour toujours «à la droite de Dieu»;
13 waiting from henceforth until his adversaries are set as a footstool beneath his feet.
et désormais il attend «Que ses ennemis soient renversés, soient sous ses pieds, comme un marchepied».
14 For by one offering he hath perfected those who are sanctified through him for ever.
C'est par une offrande unique qu'il a donné pour toujours la parfaite pureté à ceux qu'il sanctifie. D'ailleurs,
15 Now the witness unto us is the Spirit of Holiness, when he saith,
l'Esprit saint nous l'atteste, car, après avoir dit:
16 This is the covenant that I will give to them from after those days, saith the Lord: I will give my law in their minds, and upon their hearts will I inscribe it;
«Voici l'alliance que je contracterai avec eux Quand le moment sera venu, dit le Seigneur, Je mettrai mes lois dans leur coeur, Je les graverai dans leur esprit...» ajoute:
17 and their iniquity and their sins I will not remember against them.
«Je n'aurai plus aucun souvenir de leurs péchés et de leurs iniquités.»
18 BUT WHERE THERE IS REMISSION OF SINS, THERE IS NOT REQUIRED AN OFFERING FOR SINS.
Or, là où il y a pardon, il n'est plus question de sacrifice pour le péché.
19 We have, therefore, my brethren, confidence to enter the holy place through the blood of Jeshu;
Ainsi, mes frères, puisque nous avons la ferme assurance que nous entrerons dans le sanctuaire, grâce au sang de Jésus —
20 and a way of life which he hath now made new to us through the veil, which is his flesh;
(car il a inauguré pour nous un chemin nouveau et réel à travers le rideau, c'est-à-dire par son corps)
21 and we have the High Priest over the house of God.
— puisque nous avons un grand-prêtre préposé à la maison de Dieu,
22 Let us, therefore, draw near with a confirmed heart, and the full security of faith, with our hearts sprinkled and cleansed from an evil conscience, and our body washed with pure waters;
approchons-nous avec un coeur sincère, avec une foi pleine et entière, le coeur et la conscience purifiés de tout mal, et le corps lavé d'une eau pure;
23 and let us persevere in the confession of our hope, and not swerve; for faithful is He who hath promised us.
continuons, sans fléchir, à confesser notre espérance (car il est, fidèle, Celui qui a fait la promesse!).
24 And let us consider one another with incitement to charity and good works.
Ayons l'oeil les uns sur les autres pour nous exciter à l'amour et aux bonnes oeuvres;
25 And let us not forsake our congregation, as is the custom with some; but pray one with another; (and) so much the more as ye see that day to be approaching.
ne désertons pas nos réunions, comme quelques-uns en ont pris l'habitude, mais fortifions-nous-y, et cela d'autant plus que vous voyez approcher le grand jour.
26 For if with his will any man shall sin after he hath received the knowledge of the truth, there is not still a victim to be offered for sins;
Si, après avoir fait connaissance avec la vérité, nous péchons exprès, il ne reste plus de sacrifice pour les péchés;
27 but a fearful judgment to come, and burning fire which devoureth the adversaries.
il ne reste que la terrible attente du jugement et un feu dévorant qui doit consumer les rebelles.
28 For if he who transgressed the law of Musha, upon the mouth of two or three witnesses, without mercy died;
Celui qui a violé la Loi de Moïse meurt sans miséricorde «sur la déposition de deux ou trois témoins».
29 how much greater punishment, think ye, shall he receive who hath trampled upon the Son of Aloha, and hath counted the blood of the covenant of him by which he had been sanctified as that of every man and hath insulted the Spirit of grace?
Combien sera plus terrible le châtiment dont sera jugé digne celui qui aura foulé aux pieds le Fils de Dieu et regardé comme vil «le sang de l'Alliance», — ce sang qui l'a sanctifié, — qui aura outragé l'Esprit de la grâce?
30 We know him who hath said, Retribution is mine, and I will repay: and again, The Lord shall judge his people.
Nous connaissons celui qui a dit: «A moi la vengeance, moi je rendrai à mon tour», et ailleurs: «Le Seigneur jugera son peuple.»
31 How terrible to fall into the hands of Aloha the Living!
Il est terrible de tomber entre les mains du Dieu vivant!
32 Be mindful, therefore, of the first days, those in which ye received baptism; and when ye sustained a great agony of sufferings,
Souvenez-vous des premiers temps où, après avoir été éclairés, vous avez dû soutenir de nombreuses et douloureuses luttes;
33 with ignominy and affliction; and when ye were made gazing-stocks, and were associated with men who also endured these (things).
ici, exposés publiquement aux insultes et aux afflictions, là, sympathisant avec ceux que l'on traitait ainsi.
34 And it afflicted you on account of them who were bound; and the pillage of your goods with joy ye sustained, as knowing that ye have a possession in heaven, which is better, and passeth not away.
Vous avez eu compassion des prisonniers, vous vous êtes résignés avec joie à la confiscation de vos biens, sachant que vous possédez ailleurs une fortune qui vaut mieux et vous restera toujours.
35 Destroy not, therefore, the confidence which you have, for which there is a great reward.
Ne perdez donc rien de votre confiance; une récompense immense y est attachée.
36 But patience is needed by you, that ye may do the will of Aloha, and receive the promise.
Ce qu'il vous faut, c'est de la patience, pour qu'après avoir fait la volonté de Dieu, vous remportiez ce qui vous est promis.
37 Because (yet) a little time, and a very little, and He who cometh shall come, and not be slow.
Encore «Un bien, un bien petit espace de temps. Celui qui doit venir arrivera et ne tardera point,
38 But the just by the faith of me shall live; but if he become weary, my soul delighteth not in him.
Et mon juste vivra par la foi; Mais s'il recule, mon âme ne trouve pas en lui de plaisirs.»
39 But we are not of the weariness which bringeth to perdition, but of the faith which maketh us to possess our soul.
Quant à nous, nous ne sommes pas de ceux qui reculent pour se perdre, mais de ceux qui ont la foi pour sauver leurs âmes!
