૧મુખ્ય ગવૈયાને માટે; તારવાળાં વાજાં સાથે ગાવાને. દાઉદનું ગીત. હે મને ન્યાયી ઠરાવનાર મારા ઈશ્વર, જ્યારે હું તમને વિનંતિ કરું, ત્યારે તમે મને ઉત્તર આપજો; મારી પ્રાર્થના સાંભળીને તમારી કૃપા વરસાવજો.

૨હે મનુષ્યો, તમે ક્યાં સુધી મારા ગૌરવનું અપમાન કરશો? તમે ક્યાં સુધી વ્યર્થતા ઇચ્છશો અને જૂઠાણું ચલાવશો? (સેલાહ)

૩પણ જાણો કે જે પવિત્ર છે તેને યહોવાહે પોતાને માટે પસંદ કર્યો છે. હું જ્યારે યહોવાહને વિનંતિ કરું, ત્યારે તે મારું સાંભળશે.

૪તેમનાથી ભયભીત થાઓ, પણ પાપ ન કરો! તમારા બિછાના પર પોતાના હૃદયમાં મનન કરો અને શાંત રહો. (સેલાહ)

૫ન્યાયીપણાના અર્પણોને અર્પિત કરો અને તમારો ભરોસો યહોવાહ પર રાખો.

૬ઘણા કહે છે, “કોણ અમને કંઈક સારું બતાવશે?” યહોવાહ, તમારા મુખનો પ્રકાશ અમારા પર પાડો.

૭લોકોનું અનાજ તથા નવો દ્રાક્ષારસ વધવાથી તેઓને આનંદ થાય છે, તે કરતાં વધારે આનંદ તમે મારા હૃદયમાં મૂક્યો છે.

૮હું શાંતિથી સૂઈ જઈશ, તેમ જ ઊંઘી પણ જઈશ, કેમ કે, હે યહોવાહ, હું એકલો હોઉં તોપણ તમે મને સલામત અને સુરક્ષિત રાખો છો.
