Ако Господ неће градити дом, узалуд се муче који га граде; ако неће Господ чувати град, узалуд не спава стражар.

2 vanity: vain to/for you to rise to arise: rise to delay to dwell to eat food: bread [the] toil so to give: give to/for beloved his sleep

Узалуд раните, касно лежете, једете хлеб уморни; милом свом Он даје сан.

3 behold inheritance LORD son: child wages fruit [the] belly: womb

Ево наследства од Господа: деца, пород је дар од Њега.

4 like/as arrow in/on/with hand mighty man so son: child [the] youth

Шта су стреле у руци јакоме, то су синови млади.

5 blessed [the] great man which to fill [obj] quiver his from them not be ashamed for to speak: speak with enemy in/on/with gate

Благо човеку који је њима напунио тул свој! Неће се осрамотити кад се стану разговарати с непријатељима на вратима.
