Proverbs 23
1 for to dwell to/for to feed on with to rule to understand to understand [obj] which to/for face: before your
| כִּֽי־תֵ֭שֵׁב לִלְח֣וֹם אֶת־מוֹשֵׁ֑ל בִּ֥ין תָּ֝בִ֗ין אֶת־אֲשֶׁ֥ר לְפָנֶֽיךָ׃ |
2 and to set: put knife in/on/with throat your if master: men soul: appetite you(m. s.)
| וְשַׂמְתָּ֣ שַׂכִּ֣ין בְּלֹעֶ֑ךָ אִם־בַּ֖עַל נֶ֣פֶשׁ אָֽתָּה׃ |
3 not (to desire *QK) to/for delicacy his and he/she/it food lie
| אַל־תִּ֭תְאָו לְמַטְעַמּוֹתָ֑יו וְ֝ה֗וּא לֶ֣חֶם כְּזָבִֽים׃ |
4 not be weary/toil to/for to enrich from understanding your to cease
| אַל־תִּיגַ֥ע לְֽהַעֲשִׁ֑יר מִֽבִּינָתְךָ֥ חֲדָֽל׃ |
5 ( to fly *QK) eye your in/on/with him and nothing he for to make to make to/for him wing like/as eagle (to fly *QK) [the] heaven
| התעוף עֵינֶ֥יךָ בּ֗וֹ וְֽאֵ֫ינֶ֥נּוּ כִּ֤י עָשֹׂ֣ה יַעֲשֶׂה־לּ֣וֹ כְנָפַ֑יִם כְּ֝נֶ֗שֶׁר ועיף הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ פ |
6 not to feed on [obj] food: bread bad: evil eye: appearance and not (to desire *QK) to/for delicacy his
| אַל־תִּלְחַ֗ם אֶת־לֶ֭חֶם רַ֣ע עָ֑יִן וְאַל־תתאו לְמַטְעַמֹּתָֽיו׃ |
7 for like to calculate in/on/with soul his so he/she/it to eat and to drink to say to/for you and heart his not with you
| כִּ֤י ׀ כְּמוֹ־שָׁעַ֥ר בְּנַפְשׁ֗וֹ כֶּ֫ן־ה֥וּא אֱכֹ֣ל וּ֭שְׁתֵה יֹ֣אמַר לָ֑ךְ וְ֝לִבּ֗וֹ בַּל־עִמָּֽךְ׃ |
8 morsel your to eat to vomit her and to ruin word your [the] pleasant
| פִּֽתְּךָ־אָכַ֥לְתָּ תְקִיאֶ֑נָּה וְ֝שִׁחַ֗תָּ דְּבָרֶ֥יךָ הַנְּעִימִֽים׃ |
9 in/on/with ear: hearing fool not to speak: speak for to despise to/for understanding speech your
| בְּאָזְנֵ֣י כְ֭סִיל אַל־תְּדַבֵּ֑ר כִּֽי־יָ֝ב֗וּז לְשֵׂ֣כֶל מִלֶּֽיךָ׃ |
10 not to remove border: boundary forever: antiquity and in/on/with land: country orphan not to come (in): come
| אַל־תַּ֭סֵּג גְּב֣וּל עוֹלָ֑ם וּבִשְׂדֵ֥י יְ֝תוֹמִ֗ים אַל־תָּבֹֽא׃ |
11 for to redeem: redeem their strong he/she/it to contend [obj] strife their with you
| כִּֽי־גֹאֲלָ֥ם חָזָ֑ק הֽוּא־יָרִ֖יב אֶת־רִיבָ֣ם אִתָּֽךְ׃ |
12 to come (in): bring [emph?] to/for discipline: instruction heart your and ear your to/for word knowledge
| הָבִ֣יאָה לַמּוּסָ֣ר לִבֶּ֑ךָ וְ֝אָזְנֶ֗ךָ לְאִמְרֵי־דָֽעַת׃ |
13 not to withhold from youth discipline for to smite him in/on/with tribe: staff not to die
| אַל־תִּמְנַ֣ע מִנַּ֣עַר מוּסָ֑ר כִּֽי־תַכֶּ֥נּוּ בַ֝שֵּׁ֗בֶט לֹ֣א יָמֽוּת׃ |

| אַ֭תָּה בַּשֵּׁ֣בֶט תַּכֶּ֑נּוּ וְ֝נַפְשׁ֗וֹ מִשְּׁא֥וֹל תַּצִּֽיל׃ (Sheol h7585) |
15 son: child my if be wise heart your to rejoice heart my also I
| בְּ֭נִי אִם־חָכַ֣ם לִבֶּ֑ךָ יִשְׂמַ֖ח לִבִּ֣י גַם־אָֽנִי׃ |
16 and to exult kidney my in/on/with to speak: speak lips your uprightness
| וְתַעְלֹ֥זְנָה כִלְיוֹתָ֑י בְּדַבֵּ֥ר שְׂ֝פָתֶ֗יךָ מֵישָׁרִֽים׃ |
17 not be jealous heart your in/on/with sinner that if: except if: except in/on/with fear LORD all [the] day
| אַל־יְקַנֵּ֣א לִ֭בְּךָ בַּֽחַטָּאִ֑ים כִּ֥י אִם־בְּיִרְאַת־יְ֝הוָ֗ה כָּל־הַיּֽוֹם׃ |

| כִּ֭י אִם־יֵ֣שׁ אַחֲרִ֑ית וְ֝תִקְוָתְךָ֗ לֹ֣א תִכָּרֵֽת׃ |

| שְׁמַע־אַתָּ֣ה בְנִ֣י וַחֲכָ֑ם וְאַשֵּׁ֖ר בַּדֶּ֣רֶךְ לִבֶּֽךָ׃ |
20 not to be in/on/with to imbibe wine in/on/with be vile flesh to/for them
| אַל־תְּהִ֥י בְסֹֽבְאֵי־יָ֑יִן בְּזֹלֲלֵ֖י בָשָׂ֣ר לָֽמוֹ׃ |
21 for to imbibe and be vile to possess: poor and rags to clothe drowsiness
| כִּי־סֹבֵ֣א וְ֭זוֹלֵל יִוָּרֵ֑שׁ וּ֝קְרָעִ֗ים תַּלְבִּ֥ישׁ נוּמָֽה׃ |
22 to hear: hear to/for father your this to beget you and not to despise for be old mother your
| שְׁמַ֣ע לְ֭אָבִיךָ זֶ֣ה יְלָדֶ֑ךָ וְאַל־תָּ֝ב֗וּז כִּֽי־זָקְנָ֥ה אִמֶּֽךָ׃ |
23 truth: true to buy and not to sell wisdom and discipline: instruction and understanding
| אֱמֶ֣ת קְ֭נֵה וְאַל־תִּמְכֹּ֑ר חָכְמָ֖ה וּמוּסָ֣ר וּבִינָֽה׃ |
24 (to rejoice to rejoice *Qk) father righteous (and to beget *QK) wise (to rejoice *QK) in/on/with to rejoice
| גול יגול אֲבִ֣י צַדִּ֑יק יולד חָ֝כָ֗ם וישמח ־בּֽוֹ׃ |
25 to rejoice father your and mother your and to rejoice to beget you
| יִֽשְׂמַח־אָבִ֥יךָ וְאִמֶּ֑ךָ וְ֝תָגֵ֗ל יֽוֹלַדְתֶּֽךָ׃ |
26 to give: give [emph?] son: child my heart your to/for me and eye your way: conduct my (to watch *QK)
| תְּנָֽה־בְנִ֣י לִבְּךָ֣ לִ֑י וְ֝עֵינֶ֗יךָ דְּרָכַ֥י תרצנה׃ |
27 for pit deep to fornicate and well narrow foreign
| כִּֽי־שׁוּחָ֣ה עֲמֻקָּ֣ה זוֹנָ֑ה וּבְאֵ֥ר צָ֝רָ֗ה נָכְרִיָּֽה׃ |
28 also he/she/it like/as robber to ambush and to act treacherously in/on/with man to add
| אַף־הִ֭יא כְּחֶ֣תֶף תֶּֽאֱרֹ֑ב וּ֝בוֹגְדִ֗ים בְּאָדָ֥ם תּוֹסִֽף׃ |
29 to/for who? woe! to/for who? pain! to/for who? (contention *QK) to/for who? complaint to/for who? wound for nothing to/for who? dullness eye
| לְמִ֨י א֥וֹי לְמִ֪י אֲב֡וֹי לְמִ֤י מדונים ׀ לְמִ֥י שִׂ֗יחַ לְ֭מִי פְּצָעִ֣ים חִנָּ֑ם לְ֝מִ֗י חַכְלִל֥וּת עֵינָֽיִם׃ |
30 to/for to delay upon [the] wine to/for to come (in): come to/for to search mixed drink
| לַֽמְאַחֲרִ֥ים עַל־הַיָּ֑יִן לַ֝בָּאִ֗ים לַחְקֹ֥ר מִמְסָֽךְ׃ |
31 not to see: see wine for to redden for to give: do (in/on/with cup *QK) eye his to go: went in/on/with uprightness
| אַל־תֵּ֥רֶא יַיִן֮ כִּ֪י יִתְאַ֫דָּ֥ם כִּֽי־יִתֵּ֣ן בכיס עֵינ֑וֹ יִ֝תְהַלֵּ֗ךְ בְּמֵישָׁרִֽים׃ |
32 end his like/as serpent to bite and like/as serpent to pierce
| אַ֭חֲרִיתוֹ כְּנָחָ֣שׁ יִשָּׁ֑ךְ וּֽכְצִפְעֹנִ֥י יַפְרִֽשׁ׃ |
33 eye your to see: see be a stranger and heart your to speak: speak perversity
| עֵ֭ינֶיךָ יִרְא֣וּ זָר֑וֹת וְ֝לִבְּךָ֗ יְדַבֵּ֥ר תַּהְפֻּכֽוֹת׃ |
34 and to be like/as to lie down: lay down in/on/with heart sea and like/as to lie down: lay down in/on/with head: top mast
| וְ֭הָיִיתָ כְּשֹׁכֵ֣ב בְּלֶב־יָ֑ם וּ֝כְשֹׁכֵ֗ב בְּרֹ֣אשׁ חִבֵּֽל׃ |
35 to smite me not be weak: ill to smite me not to know how to awake to add to seek him still
| הִכּ֥וּנִי בַל־חָלִיתִי֮ הֲלָמ֗וּנִי בַּל־יָ֫דָ֥עְתִּי מָתַ֥י אָקִ֑יץ א֝וֹסִ֗יף אֲבַקְשֶׁ֥נּוּ עֽוֹד׃ |
