1 proverb Solomon son: child David king Israel
| מִ֭שְׁלֵי שְׁלֹמֹ֣ה בֶן־דָּוִ֑ד מֶ֝֗לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ |
2 to/for to know wisdom and discipline: instruction to/for to understand word understanding
| לָדַ֣עַת חָכְמָ֣ה וּמוּסָ֑ר לְ֝הָבִ֗ין אִמְרֵ֥י בִינָֽה׃ |
3 to/for to take: recieve discipline: instruction be prudent righteousness and justice and uprightness
| לָ֭קַחַת מוּסַ֣ר הַשְׂכֵּ֑ל צֶ֥דֶק וּ֝מִשְׁפָּ֗ט וּמֵישָׁרִֽים׃ |
4 to/for to give: give to/for simple craftiness to/for youth knowledge and plot
| לָתֵ֣ת לִפְתָאיִ֣ם עָרְמָ֑ה לְ֝נַ֗עַר דַּ֣עַת וּמְזִמָּֽה׃ |
5 to hear: hear wise and to add teaching and to understand counsel to buy
| יִשְׁמַ֣ע חָ֭כָם וְיֹ֣וסֶף לֶ֑קַח וְ֝נָבֹ֗ון תַּחְבֻּלֹ֥ות יִקְנֶֽה׃ |
6 to/for to understand proverb and mockery word wise and riddle their
| לְהָבִ֣ין מָ֭שָׁל וּמְלִיצָ֑ה דִּבְרֵ֥י חֲ֝כָמִ֗ים וְחִידֹתָֽם׃ |
7 fear LORD first: beginning knowledge wisdom and discipline: instruction fool(ish) to despise
| יִרְאַ֣ת יְ֭הוָה רֵאשִׁ֣ית דָּ֑עַת חָכְמָ֥ה וּ֝מוּסָ֗ר אֱוִילִ֥ים בָּֽזוּ׃ פ |
8 to hear: hear son: child my discipline: instruction father your and not to leave instruction mother your
| שְׁמַ֣ע בְּ֭נִי מוּסַ֣ר אָבִ֑יךָ וְאַל־תִּ֝טֹּ֗שׁ תֹּורַ֥ת אִמֶּֽךָ׃ |
9 for wreath favor they(masc.) to/for head your and necklace to/for neck your
| כִּ֤י ׀ לִוְיַ֤ת חֵ֓ן הֵ֬ם לְרֹאשֶׁ֑ךָ וַ֝עֲנָקִ֗ים לְגַרְגְּרֹתֶֽיךָ׃ |
10 son: child my if to entice you sinner not be willing
| בְּנִ֡י אִם־יְפַתּ֥וּךָ חַ֝טָּאִ֗ים אַל־תֹּבֵֽא׃ |
11 if to say to go: come [emph?] with us to ambush to/for blood to treasure to/for innocent for nothing
| אִם־יֹאמְרוּ֮ לְכָ֪ה אִ֫תָּ֥נוּ נֶאֶרְבָ֥ה לְדָ֑ם נִצְפְּנָ֖ה לְנָקִ֣י חִנָּֽם׃ |
12 to swallow up them like/as hell: Sheol alive and unblemished: complete like/as to go down pit (Sheol h7585)
| נִ֭בְלָעֵם כִּשְׁאֹ֣ול חַיִּ֑ים וּ֝תְמִימִ֗ים כְּיֹ֣ורְדֵי בֹֽור׃ (Sheol h7585) |
13 all substance precious to find to fill house: home our spoil
| כָּל־הֹ֣ון יָקָ֣ר נִמְצָ֑א נְמַלֵּ֖א בָתֵּ֣ינוּ שָׁלָֽל׃ |
14 allotted your to fall: deserting in/on/with midst our purse one to be to/for all our
| גֹּ֭ורָ֣לְךָ תַּפִּ֣יל בְּתֹוכֵ֑נוּ כִּ֥יס אֶ֝חָ֗ד יִהְיֶ֥ה לְכֻלָּֽנוּ׃ |
15 son: child my not to go: walk in/on/with way: journey with them to withhold foot your from path their
| בְּנִ֗י אַל־תֵּלֵ֣ךְ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ אִתָּ֑ם מְנַ֥ע רַ֝גְלְךָ֗ מִנְּתִיבָתָֽם׃ |
16 for foot their to/for bad: evil to run: run and to hasten to/for to pour: kill blood
| כִּ֣י רַ֭גְלֵיהֶם לָרַ֣ע יָר֑וּצוּ וִֽ֝ימַהֲר֗וּ לִשְׁפָּךְ־דָּֽם׃ |
17 for for nothing to scatter [the] net in/on/with eye: seeing all master: [master of] wing
| כִּֽי־חִ֭נָּם מְזֹרָ֣ה הָרָ֑שֶׁת בְּ֝עֵינֵ֗י כָל־בַּ֥עַל כָּנָֽף׃ |

| וְ֭הֵם לְדָמָ֣ם יֶאֱרֹ֑בוּ יִ֝צְפְּנ֗וּ לְנַפְשֹׁתָֽם׃ |
19 so way all to cut off: to gain unjust-gain [obj] soul: life master his to take: take
| כֵּ֗ן אָ֭רְחֹות כָּל־בֹּ֣צֵֽעַ בָּ֑צַע אֶת־נֶ֖פֶשׁ בְּעָלָ֣יו יִקָּֽח׃ פ |
20 wisdom in/on/with outside to sing in/on/with street/plaza to give: cry out voice her
| חָ֭כְמֹות בַּח֣וּץ תָּרֹ֑נָּה בָּ֝רְחֹבֹ֗ות תִּתֵּ֥ן קֹולָֽהּ׃ |

| בְּרֹ֥אשׁ הֹמִיֹּ֗ות תִּ֫קְרָ֥א בְּפִתְחֵ֖י שְׁעָרִ֥ים בָּעִ֗יר אֲמָרֶ֥יהָ תֹאמֵֽר׃ |
22 till how simple to love: lover simplicity and to mock scorning to desire to/for them and fool to hate knowledge
| עַד־מָתַ֣י ׀ פְּתָיִם֮ תְּֽאֵהֲב֫וּ פֶ֥תִי וְלֵצִ֗ים לָ֭צֹון חָמְד֣וּ לָהֶ֑ם וּ֝כְסִילִ֗ים יִשְׂנְאוּ־דָֽעַת׃ |
23 to return: repent to/for argument my behold to bubble to/for you spirit my to know word my [obj] you
| תָּשׁ֗וּבוּ לְֽתֹ֫וכַחְתִּ֥י הִנֵּ֤ה אַבִּ֣יעָה לָכֶ֣ם רוּחִ֑י אֹודִ֖יעָה דְבָרַ֣י אֶתְכֶֽם׃ |

| יַ֣עַן קָ֭רָאתִי וַתְּמָאֵ֑נוּ נָטִ֥יתִי יָ֝דִ֗י וְאֵ֣ין מַקְשִֽׁיב׃ |

| וַתִּפְרְע֥וּ כָל־עֲצָתִ֑י וְ֝תֹוכַחְתִּ֗י לֹ֣א אֲבִיתֶֽם׃ |
26 also I in/on/with calamity your to laugh to mock in/on/with to come (in): come dread your
| גַּם־אֲ֭נִי בְּאֵידְכֶ֣ם אֶשְׂחָ֑ק אֶ֝לְעַ֗ג בְּבֹ֣א פַחְדְּכֶֽם׃ |
27 in/on/with to come (in): come (like/as devastation *QK) dread your and calamity your like/as whirlwind to come in/on/with to come (in): come upon you distress and anguish
| בְּבֹ֤א כְשַׁאֲוָה (כְשֹׁואָ֨ה ׀) פַּחְדְּכֶ֗ם וְֽ֭אֵידְכֶם כְּסוּפָ֣ה יֶאֱתֶ֑ה בְּבֹ֥א עֲ֝לֵיכֶ֗ם צָרָ֥ה וְצוּקָֽה׃ |
28 then to call: call to me and not to answer to seek me and not to find me
| אָ֣ז יִ֭קְרָאֻנְנִי וְלֹ֣א אֶֽעֱנֶ֑ה יְ֝שַׁחֲרֻ֗נְנִי וְלֹ֣א יִמְצָאֻֽנְנִי׃ |
29 underneath: because of for to hate knowledge and fear LORD not to choose
| תַּ֭חַת כִּי־שָׂ֣נְאוּ דָ֑עַת וְיִרְאַ֥ת יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה לֹ֣א בָחָֽרוּ׃ |
30 not be willing to/for counsel my to spurn all argument my
| לֹא־אָב֥וּ לַעֲצָתִ֑י נָ֝אֲצ֗וּ כָּל־תֹּוכַחְתִּֽי׃ |
31 and to eat from fruit way: journey their and from counsel their to satisfy
| וְֽ֭יֹאכְלוּ מִפְּרִ֣י דַרְכָּ֑ם וּֽמִמֹּעֲצֹ֖תֵיהֶ֣ם יִשְׂבָּֽעוּ׃ |
32 for faithlessness simple to kill them and ease fool to perish them
| כִּ֤י מְשׁוּבַ֣ת פְּתָיִ֣ם תַּֽהַרְגֵ֑ם וְשַׁלְוַ֖ת כְּסִילִ֣ים תְּאַבְּדֵֽם׃ |
33 and to hear: hear to/for me to dwell security and to rest from dread distress: harm
| וְשֹׁמֵ֣עַֽ לִ֭י יִשְׁכָּן־בֶּ֑טַח וְ֝שַׁאֲנַ֗ן מִפַּ֥חַד רָעָֽה׃ פ |
