Joshua 5
1 and to be like/as to hear: hear all king [the] Amorite which in/on/with side: beyond [the] Jordan sea: west [to] and all king [the] Canaanite which upon [the] sea [obj] which to wither LORD [obj] water [the] Jordan from face: before son: descendant/people Israel till (to pass they *QK) and to melt heart their and not to be in/on/with them still spirit from face: because son: descendant/people Israel
૧જયારે યર્દનની પશ્ચિમમાં રહેનાર અમોરીઓના સર્વ રાજાઓએ અને સમુદ્ર કિનારે રહેનાર કનાનીઓના રાજાઓએ સાંભળ્યું કે, ઇઝરાયલના લોકો જ્યાં સુધી યર્દન નદી પસાર કરી રહ્યા ત્યાં સુધી યહોવાહે યર્દનના પાણી સૂકવી દીધાં, ત્યારે તેઓનાં હૃદય પીગળી ગયાં અને ઇઝરાયલી લોકોને લીધે તેઓ અતિશય ગભરાઈ ગયા.

૨તે સમયે યહોવાહે યહોશુઆને કહ્યું, “ચકમક પથ્થરની છરીઓ બનાવ અને ઇઝરાયલના બધા પુરુષોની ફરીથી સુન્નત કર.”
3 and to make to/for him Joshua sword rock and to circumcise [obj] son: descendant/people Israel to(wards) Gibeath-(haaraloth) [the] (Gilgal)-haaraloth
૩પછી યહોશુઆએ પોતે ચકમક પથ્થરની છરીઓ બનાવી. ઇઝરાયલના પુરુષોની સુન્નત કરી. જે જગ્યાએ સુન્નતનો વિધિ કરાઈ તેને ‘અગ્રચર્મની ટેકરી’ કહેવામાં આવી.

૪અને યહોશુઆએ તેઓની સુન્નત કરી તેનું કારણ આ હતું કે, જે પુરુષો મિસરમાંથી બહાર આવ્યા હતા ત્યારે જેઓની સુન્નત કરાયેલી હતી તેઓ એટલે કે યુદ્ધ કરનારા બધા પુરુષો અરણ્યના રસ્તે મરણ પામ્યા હતા.
5 for to circumcise to be all [the] people [the] to come out: come and all [the] people [the] born in/on/with wilderness in/on/with way: journey in/on/with to come out: come they from Egypt not to circumcise
૫જોકે મિસરમાંથી નીકળેલા પુરુષોની સુન્નત કરવામાં આવી હતી, પરંતુ મિસરમાંથી બહાર નીકળી અરણ્યના માર્ગમાં જે છોકરાઓ જનમ્યાં હતા તેઓની સુન્નત હજી સુધી કરાઈ ન હતી.

૬મિસરમાંથી નીકળેલા યોધ્ધાઓ, કે જે અરણ્યમાં મરી ગયા, ત્યાં સુધી ઇઝરાયલના લોકો ચાળીસ વર્ષ સુધી અરણ્યમાં ફરતા રહ્યા, કેમ કે, તેઓએ યહોવાહની આજ્ઞાઓ પાળી ન હતી. જે દૂધ તથા મધથી રેલછેલવાળો દેશ તેઓને આપવાનો યહોવાહે તેઓના પૂર્વજો સાથે કરાર કર્યો હતો તે દેશ તેઓને જોવા દેવો નહિ તેવા સમ યહોવાહે તેઓ વિષે ખાધા હતા.

૭તેઓને સ્થાને યહોવાહે તેઓના દીકરાઓને ઊભા કર્યા હતા, યહોશુઆએ તેઓની સુન્નત કરી, કેમ કે માર્ગમાં તેઓની સુન્નત કરાઈ ન હતી.
8 and to be like/as as which to finish all [the] nation to/for to circumcise and to dwell underneath: stand them in/on/with camp till to live they
૮અને સર્વ પુરુષોની સુન્નત થઈ ગયા પછી, તેઓને રૂઝ આવી ત્યાં તેઓ છાવણીમાં રહ્યા.
9 and to say LORD to(wards) Joshua [the] day to roll [obj] reproach Egypt from upon you and to call: call by name [the] place [the] he/she/it Gilgal till [the] day: today [the] this
૯અને યહોવાહે યહોશુઆને કહ્યું, “આ દિવસથી હું તારા પરથી મિસરનું કલંક દૂર કરીશ. “માટે, તે જગ્યાનું નામ ગિલ્ગાલ રાખ્યું જે આજ સુધી તે નામ ઓળખાય છે.

૧૧પાસ્ખાપર્વના બીજે દિવસે તેઓએ તે દેશની પેદાશમાંથી બનાવેલી બેખમીર રોટલી અને શેકેલું અનાજ ખાધું.

૧૨અને ત્યાર બાદ તે દિવસથી માન્ના પડતું બંધ થયું. અને હવે ઇઝરાયલ લોકોને માન્ના મળવાનું બંધ થયું, તેઓએ કનાન દેશની પેદાશમાંથી ખાવાનું શરુ કર્યું.

૧૩અને યહોશુઆ યરીખો પાસે હતો, તેણે પોતાની આંખો ઊંચી કરીને જોયું, તો જુઓ, તેની સામે એક પુરુષ ઊભો રહેલો હતો, અને તેના હાથમાં તાણેલી તલવાર હતી. યહોશુઆએ તેની પાસે જઈને તેને પૂછ્યું, “શું તું અમારા પક્ષનો છે કે અમારા શત્રુઓના પક્ષનો છે?”

૧૪તેણે કહ્યું, “એમ તો નહિ, પણ હું યહોવાહનાં સૈન્યનો સરદાર છું.” અને યહોશુઆએ ભૂમિ પર પડીને તેનું ભજન કરીને કહ્યું, “મને માલિકનો આદેશ ફરમાવો.”

૧૫ત્યારે યહોવાહનાં સૈન્યના સરદારે યહોશુઆને કહ્યું કે “તારા પગમાંથી તારા ચંપલ ઉતાર. કેમ કે જે જગ્યાએ તું ઊભો છે તે પવિત્ર છે.” અને યહોશુઆએ તેના કહ્યા પ્રમાણે કર્યું.
