< Job 14 >

1 man to beget woman short day and sated turmoil
Man, that is born of woman, Is of few days, and full of trouble.
2 like/as flower to come out: issue and to languish and to flee like/as shadow and not to stand: stand
He cometh forth as a flower, and is cut down; He fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.
3 also upon this to open eye your and [obj] me to come (in): bring in/on/with justice: judgement with you
And dost thou fix thine eyes upon such a one? And dost thou bring me into judgment with thee?
4 who? to give: give pure from unclean not one
Who can produce a clean thing from an unclean? Not one.
5 if to decide day his number month his with you (statute: allotment his *QK) to make and not to pass
Seeing that his days are determined, And the number of his months, with thee, And that thou hast appointed him bounds which he cannot pass,
6 to gaze from upon him and to cease till to accept like/as hired day his
O turn thine eyes from him, and let him rest, That he may enjoy, as a hireling, his day!
7 for there to/for tree hope if to cut: cut and still to pass and shoot his not to cease
For there is hope for a tree, If it be cut down, that it will sprout again, And that its tender branches will not fail;
8 if be old in/on/with land: soil root his and in/on/with dust to die stock his
Though its root may have grown old in the earth, And though its trunk be dead upon the ground,
9 from aroma water to sprout and to make foliage like plantation
Through the scent of water it will bud, And put forth boughs, like a young plant.
10 and great man to die and to weaken and to die man and where? he
But man dieth, and he is gone! Man expireth, and where is he?
11 be gone water from sea and river to dry and to wither
The waters fail from the lake; And the stream wasteth and drieth up;
12 and man to lie down: lay down and not to arise: rise till lest heaven not to awake and not to rouse from sleep their
So man lieth down, and riseth not; Till the heavens be no more, he shall not awake, Nor be roused from his sleep.
13 who? to give: if only! in/on/with hell: Sheol to treasure me to hide me till to return: turn back face: anger your to set: appoint to/for me statute: portion and to remember me (Sheol h7585)
O that thou wouldst hide me in the under-world! That thou wouldst conceal me till thy wrath be past! That thou wouldst appoint me a time, and then remember me! (Sheol h7585)
14 if to die great man to live all day army: duty my to wait: wait till to come (in): come change my
If a man die, can he live again? All the days of my war-service would I wait, Till my change should come.
15 to call: call to and I to answer you to/for deed: work hand your to long
Thou wilt call, and I will answer thee; Thou wilt have compassion upon the work of thy hands!
16 for now step my to recount not to keep: look at upon sin my
But now thou numberest my steps; Thou watchest over my sins.
17 to seal in/on/with bundle transgression my and to smear upon iniquity: crime my
My transgression is sealed up in a bag; Yea, thou addest unto my iniquity.
18 and but mountain: mount to fall: fall to wither and rock to proceed from place his
As the mountain falling cometh to nought, And the rock is removed from its place;
19 stone to beat water to overflow outpouring her dust land: soil and hope human to perish
As the waters wear away the stones, And the floods wash away the dust of the earth, So thou destroyest the hope of man.
20 to prevail him to/for perpetuity and to go: went to change face his and to send: depart him
Thou prevailest against him continually, and he perisheth; Thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.
21 to honor: honour son: child his and not to know and be little and not to understand to/for them
His sons come to honor, but he knoweth it not; Or they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not.
22 surely flesh his upon him to pain and soul: myself his upon him to mourn
But his flesh shall have pain for itself alone; For itself alone shall his soul mourn.
