Isaiah 42
1 look! servant/slave my to grasp in/on/with him chosen my to accept soul my to give: put spirit my upon him justice to/for nation to come out: send
| הֵ֤ן עַבְדִּי֙ אֶתְמָךְ־בֹּ֔ו בְּחִירִ֖י רָצְתָ֣ה נַפְשִׁ֑י נָתַ֤תִּי רוּחִי֙ עָלָ֔יו מִשְׁפָּ֖ט לַגֹּויִ֥ם יֹוצִֽיא׃ |
2 not to cry and not to lift: loud and not to hear: hear in/on/with outside voice his
| לֹ֥א יִצְעַ֖ק וְלֹ֣א יִשָּׂ֑א וְלֹֽא־יַשְׁמִ֥יעַ בַּח֖וּץ קֹולֹֽו׃ |
3 branch: stem to crush not to break and flax faint not to quench her to/for truth: faithful to come out: send justice
| קָנֶ֤ה רָצוּץ֙ לֹ֣א יִשְׁבֹּ֔ור וּפִשְׁתָּ֥ה כֵהָ֖ה לֹ֣א יְכַבֶּ֑נָּה לֶאֱמֶ֖ת יֹוצִ֥יא מִשְׁפָּֽט׃ |
4 not to grow dim and not to crush till to set: make in/on/with land: country/planet justice and to/for instruction his coastland to wait: hope
| לֹ֤א יִכְהֶה֙ וְלֹ֣א יָר֔וּץ עַד־יָשִׂ֥ים בָּאָ֖רֶץ מִשְׁפָּ֑ט וּלְתֹורָתֹ֖ו אִיִּ֥ים יְיַחֵֽילוּ׃ פ |
5 thus to say [the] God LORD to create [the] heaven and to stretch them to beat [the] land: country/planet and offspring her to give: give breath to/for people upon her and spirit to/for to go: walk in/on/with her
| כֹּֽה־אָמַ֞ר הָאֵ֣ל ׀ יְהוָ֗ה בֹּורֵ֤א הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ וְנֹ֣וטֵיהֶ֔ם רֹקַ֥ע הָאָ֖רֶץ וְצֶאֱצָאֶ֑יהָ נֹתֵ֤ן נְשָׁמָה֙ לָעָ֣ם עָלֶ֔יהָ וְר֖וּחַ לַהֹלְכִ֥ים בָּֽהּ׃ |
6 I LORD to call: call to you in/on/with righteousness and to strengthen: hold in/on/with hand your and to watch you and to give: give you to/for covenant people to/for light nation
| אֲנִ֧י יְהוָ֛ה קְרָאתִ֥יךָֽ בְצֶ֖דֶק וְאַחְזֵ֣ק בְּיָדֶ֑ךָ וְאֶצָּרְךָ֗ וְאֶתֶּנְךָ֛ לִבְרִ֥ית עָ֖ם לְאֹ֥ור גֹּויִֽם׃ |
7 to/for to open eye blind to/for to come out: send from locksmith prisoner from house: home prison to dwell darkness
| לִפְקֹ֖חַ עֵינַ֣יִם עִוְרֹ֑ות לְהֹוצִ֤יא מִמַּסְגֵּר֙ אַסִּ֔יר מִבֵּ֥ית כֶּ֖לֶא יֹ֥שְׁבֵי חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ |
8 I LORD he/she/it name my and glory my to/for another not to give: give and praise my to/for idol
| אֲנִ֥י יְהוָ֖ה ה֣וּא שְׁמִ֑י וּכְבֹודִי֙ לְאַחֵ֣ר לֹֽא־אֶתֵּ֔ן וּתְהִלָּתִ֖י לַפְּסִילִֽים׃ |
9 [the] first: previous behold to come (in): come and new I to tell in/on/with before to spring to hear: proclaim [obj] you
| הָרִֽאשֹׁנֹ֖ות הִנֵּה־בָ֑אוּ וַֽחֲדָשֹׁות֙ אֲנִ֣י מַגִּ֔יד בְּטֶ֥רֶם תִּצְמַ֖חְנָה אַשְׁמִ֥יע אֶתְכֶֽם׃ פ |
10 to sing to/for LORD song new praise his from end [the] land: country/planet to go down [the] sea and fullness his coastland and to dwell their
| שִׁ֤ירוּ לַֽיהוָה֙ שִׁ֣יר חָדָ֔שׁ תְּהִלָּתֹ֖ו מִקְצֵ֣ה הָאָ֑רֶץ יֹורְדֵ֤י הַיָּם֙ וּמְלֹאֹ֔ו אִיִּ֖ים וְיֹשְׁבֵיהֶֽם׃ |
11 to lift: loud wilderness and city his village to dwell Kedar to sing to dwell Sela from head: top mountain: mount to cry aloud
| יִשְׂא֤וּ מִדְבָּר֙ וְעָרָ֔יו חֲצֵרִ֖ים תֵּשֵׁ֣ב קֵדָ֑ר יָרֹ֙נּוּ֙ יֹ֣שְׁבֵי סֶ֔לַע מֵרֹ֥אשׁ הָרִ֖ים יִצְוָֽחוּ׃ |
12 to set: put to/for LORD glory and praise his in/on/with coastland to tell
| יָשִׂ֥ימוּ לַֽיהוָ֖ה כָּבֹ֑וד וּתְהִלָּתֹ֖ו בָּאִיִּ֥ים יַגִּֽידוּ׃ |
13 LORD like/as mighty man to come out: come like/as man battle to rouse jealousy to shout also to cry upon enemy his to prevail
| יְהוָה֙ כַּגִּבֹּ֣ור יֵצֵ֔א כְּאִ֥ישׁ מִלְחָמֹ֖ות יָעִ֣יר קִנְאָ֑ה יָרִ֙יעַ֙ אַף־יַצְרִ֔יחַ עַל־אֹיְבָ֖יו יִתְגַּבָּֽר׃ ס |
14 be silent from forever: antiquity be quiet to refrain like/as to beget to groan to pant and to long for unitedness
| הֶחֱשֵׁ֙יתִי֙ מֵֽעֹולָ֔ם אַחֲרִ֖ישׁ אֶתְאַפָּ֑ק כַּיֹּולֵדָ֣ה אֶפְעֶ֔ה אֶשֹּׁ֥ם וְאֶשְׁאַ֖ף יָֽחַד׃ |
15 to destroy mountain: mount and hill and all vegetation their to wither and to set: make river to/for coastland and pool to wither
| אַחֲרִ֤יב הָרִים֙ וּגְבָעֹ֔ות וְכָל־עֶשְׂבָּ֖ם אֹובִ֑ישׁ וְשַׂמְתִּ֤י נְהָרֹות֙ לֽ͏ָאִיִּ֔ים וַאֲגַמִּ֖ים אֹובִֽישׁ׃ |
16 and to go: take blind in/on/with way: direction not to know in/on/with path not to know to tread them to set: make darkness to/for face: before their to/for light and crooked place to/for plain these [the] word: thing to make: do them and not to leave: forsake them
| וְהֹולַכְתִּ֣י עִוְרִ֗ים בְּדֶ֙רֶךְ֙ לֹ֣א יָדָ֔עוּ בִּנְתִיבֹ֥ות לֹֽא־יָדְע֖וּ אַדְרִיכֵ֑ם אָשִׂים֩ מַחְשָׁ֨ךְ לִפְנֵיהֶ֜ם לָאֹ֗ור וּמַֽעֲקַשִּׁים֙ לְמִישֹׁ֔ור אֵ֚לֶּה הַדְּבָרִ֔ים עֲשִׂיתִ֖ם וְלֹ֥א עֲזַבְתִּֽים׃ |
17 to turn back be ashamed shame [the] to trust in/on/with idol [the] to say to/for liquid you(m. p.) God our
| נָסֹ֤גוּ אָחֹור֙ יֵבֹ֣שׁוּ בֹ֔שֶׁת הַבֹּטְחִ֖ים בַּפָּ֑סֶל הָאֹמְרִ֥ים לְמַסֵּכָ֖ה אַתֶּ֥ם אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ ס |
18 [the] deaf to hear: hear and [the] blind to look to/for to see: see
| הַחֵרְשִׁ֖ים שְׁמָ֑עוּ וְהַעִוְרִ֖ים הַבִּ֥יטוּ לִרְאֹֽות׃ |
19 who? blind that if: except if: except servant/slave my and deaf like/as messenger my to send: depart who? blind like/as to ally and blind like/as servant/slave LORD
| מִ֤י עִוֵּר֙ כִּ֣י אִם־עַבְדִּ֔י וְחֵרֵ֖שׁ כְּמַלְאָכִ֣י אֶשְׁלָ֑ח מִ֤י עִוֵּר֙ כִּמְשֻׁלָּ֔ם וְעִוֵּ֖ר כְּעֶ֥בֶד יְהוָֽה׃ |
20 (to see: see *QK) many and not to keep: look at to open ear and not to hear: hear
| רָאִיתָ (רָאֹ֥ות) רַבֹּ֖ות וְלֹ֣א תִשְׁמֹ֑ר פָּקֹ֥וחַ אָזְנַ֖יִם וְלֹ֥א יִשְׁמָֽע׃ |
21 LORD to delight in because righteousness his to magnify instruction and be glorious
| יְהוָ֥ה חָפֵ֖ץ לְמַ֣עַן צִדְקֹ֑ו יַגְדִּ֥יל תֹּורָ֖ה וְיַאְדִּֽיר׃ |
22 and he/she/it people to plunder and to plunder to ensnare in/on/with cavern all their and in/on/with house: home prison to hide to be to/for plunder and nothing to rescue plunder and nothing to say to return: rescue
| וְהוּא֮ עַם־בָּז֣וּז וְשָׁסוּי֒ הָפֵ֤חַ בַּֽחוּרִים֙ כֻּלָּ֔ם וּבְבָתֵּ֥י כְלָאִ֖ים הָחְבָּ֑אוּ הָי֤וּ לָבַז֙ וְאֵ֣ין מַצִּ֔יל מְשִׁסָּ֖ה וְאֵין־אֹמֵ֥ר הָשַֽׁב׃ |
23 who? in/on/with you to listen this to listen and to hear: hear to/for back
| מִ֥י בָכֶ֖ם יַאֲזִ֣ין זֹ֑את יַקְשִׁ֥ב וְיִשְׁמַ֖ע לְאָחֹֽור׃ |
24 who? to give: give (to/for plunder *QK) Jacob and Israel to/for to plunder not LORD this to sin to/for him and not be willing in/on/with way: conduct his to go: walk and not to hear: obey in/on/with instruction his
| מִֽי־נָתַ֨ן לִמְשֹׁוסֶה (לִמְשִׁסָּ֧ה) יַעֲקֹ֛ב וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל לְבֹזְזִ֖ים הֲלֹ֣וא יְהוָ֑ה ז֚וּ חָטָ֣אנוּ לֹ֔ו וְלֹֽא־אָב֤וּ בִדְרָכָיו֙ הָלֹ֔וךְ וְלֹ֥א שָׁמְע֖וּ בְּתֹורָתֹֽו׃ |
25 and to pour: pour upon him rage face: anger his and strength battle and to kindle him from around and not to know and to burn: burn in/on/with him and not to set: consider upon heart
| וַיִּשְׁפֹּ֤ךְ עָלָיו֙ חֵמָ֣ה אַפֹּ֔ו וֶעֱז֖וּז מִלְחָמָ֑ה וַתְּלַהֲטֵ֤הוּ מִסָּבִיב֙ וְלֹ֣א יָדָ֔ע וַתִּבְעַר־בֹּ֖ו וְלֹא־יָשִׂ֥ים עַל־לֵֽב׃ פ |
