Esther 4
1 and Mordecai to know [obj] all which to make: do and to tear Mordecai [obj] garment his and to clothe sackcloth and ashes and to come out: come in/on/with midst [the] city and to cry out outcry great: large and bitter
Mardochée, ayant appris tout ce qui se passait, déchira ses vêtements, se revêtit d’un sac et se couvrit la tête de cendre; puis il alla au milieu de la ville en poussant avec force des gémissements amers.
2 and to come (in): come till to/for face: before gate [the] king for nothing to/for to come (in): come to(wards) gate [the] king in/on/with clothing sackcloth
Et il se rendit jusque devant la porte du roi; car nulle personne revêtue d’un sac n’avait le droit de franchir la porte du roi.
3 and in/on/with all province and province place which word [the] king and law his to touch mourning great: large to/for Jew and fast and weeping and mourning sackcloth and ashes to lay to/for many
Dans chaque province, partout où arrivaient l’ordre du roi et son édit, il y eut un grand deuil parmi les Juifs; ils jeûnaient, pleuraient et se lamentaient, et le sac et la cendre servaient de couche à beaucoup d’entre eux.
4 (and to come (in): come *Qk) maiden Esther and eunuch her and to tell to/for her and to twist: tremble [the] queen much and to send: depart garment to/for to clothe [obj] Mordecai and to/for to turn aside: remove sackcloth his from upon him and not to receive
Les servantes d’Esther et ses eunuques vinrent lui apporter cette nouvelle, et la reine fut très effrayée. Elle envoya des vêtements à Mardochée pour s’en revêtir, afin qu’il ôtât son sac; mais il ne les accepta pas.
5 and to call: call to Esther to/for Hathach from eunuch [the] king which to stand: appoint to/for face: before her and to command him upon Mordecai to/for to know what? this and upon what? this
Alors Esther, ayant appelé Athach, l’un des eunuques que le roi avait placés auprès d’elle, le chargea d’aller demander à Mardochée ce que c’était et d’où venait son deuil.
6 and to come out: come Hathach to(wards) Mordecai to(wards) street/plaza [the] city which to/for face: before gate [the] king
Athach se rendit auprès de Mardochée, qui se tenait sur la place de la ville, devant la porte du roi;
7 and to tell to/for him Mordecai [obj] all which to meet him and [obj] declaration [the] silver: money which to say Haman to/for to weigh upon treasury [the] king (in/on/with Jew *Qk) to/for to perish them
et Mardochée lui fit connaître tout ce qui lui était arrivé, et la somme d’argent qu’Aman avait promis de peser pour le trésor du roi en retour du massacre des Juifs.
8 and [obj] copy writing [the] law which to give: give in/on/with Susa to/for to destroy them to give: give to/for him to/for to see: see [obj] Esther and to/for to tell to/for her and to/for to command upon her to/for to come (in): come to(wards) [the] king to/for be gracious to/for him and to/for to seek from to/for face: before his upon people her
Il lui remit aussi une copie de l’édit publié dans Suse en vue de leur extermination, afin qu’il le montrât à Esther, lui apprît tout, et lui commandât de se rendre chez le roi afin de le supplier et de lui demander grâce pour son peuple. Voir l’exhortation de Mardochée à Esther, fragment VI,

Athach vint rapporter à Esther les paroles de Mardochée.
10 and to say Esther to/for Hathach and to command him to(wards) Mordecai
Esther donna l’ordre à Athach d’aller dire à Mardochée:
11 all servant/slave [the] king and people province [the] king to know which all man and woman which to come (in): come to(wards) [the] king to(wards) [the] court [the] inner which not to call: call to one law his to/for to die to/for alone from whence to extend to/for him [the] king [obj] scepter [the] gold and to live and I not to call: call to to/for to come (in): come to(wards) [the] king this thirty day
« Tous les serviteurs du roi et le peuple de ses provinces savent que si quelqu’un, homme ou femme, pénètre chez le roi, dans la cour intérieure, sans avoir été appelé, l’unique loi qu’on lui applique porte peine de mort; à moins que le roi, lui tendant son sceptre d’or, ne lui donne la vie. Et moi, je n’ai pas été appelée à aller auprès du roi depuis trente jours. »
12 and to tell to/for Mordecai [obj] word: speaking Esther
Quand les paroles d’Esther eurent été rapportées à Mardochée,
13 and to say Mordecai to/for to return: reply to(wards) Esther not to resemble in/on/with soul: myself your to/for to escape house: home [the] king from all [the] Jew
celui-ci lui fit répondre: « Ne t’imagine pas en toi-même que tu échapperas seule d’entre tous les Juifs, parce que tu es dans la maison du roi.
14 that if: except if: except be quiet be quiet in/on/with time [the] this space and deliverance to stand: rise to/for Jew from place another and you(f. s.) and house: household father your to perish and who? to know if to/for time like/as this to touch to/for royalty
Car, si tu te tais maintenant, il surgira d’ailleurs un secours et une délivrance pour les Juifs, et toi et la maison de ton père, vous périrez. Et qui sait si ce n’est pas pour un temps comme celui-ci que tu es parvenue à la dignité royale? »
15 and to say Esther to/for to return: reply to(wards) Mordecai
Esther fit répondre à Mardochée:
16 to go: went to gather [obj] all [the] Jew [the] to find in/on/with Susa and to fast upon me and not to eat and not to drink three day night and day also I and maiden my to fast so and in/on/with so to come (in): come to(wards) [the] king which not like/as law and like/as as which to perish to perish
« Va, rassemble tous les Juifs qui se trouvent à Suse, et jeûnez pour moi, sans manger ni boire pendant trois jours, ni la nuit ni le jour. Moi aussi, je jeûnerai de même avec mes servantes, puis j’entrerai chez le roi, malgré la loi; et si je dois mourir, je mourrai. »
17 and to pass Mordecai and to make: do like/as all which to command upon him Esther
