Ecclesiastes 12
1 and to remember [obj] to create you in/on/with day youth your till which not to come (in): come day [the] distress: evil and to touch year which to say nothing to/for me in/on/with them pleasure
Mais souviens-toi de ton créateur pendant les jours de ta jeunesse, avant que les jours mauvais arrivent et que les années s’approchent où tu diras: Je n’y prends point de plaisir;
2 till which not to darken [the] sun and [the] light and [the] moon and [the] star and to return: return [the] cloud after [the] rain
avant que s’obscurcissent le soleil et la lumière, la lune et les étoiles, et que les nuages reviennent après la pluie,
3 in/on/with day which/that to tremble to keep: guard [the] house: home and to pervert human [the] strength and to cease [the] to grind for to diminish and to darken [the] to see: see in/on/with window
temps où les gardiens de la maison tremblent, où les hommes forts se courbent, où celles qui moulent s’arrêtent parce qu’elles sont diminuées, où ceux qui regardent par les fenêtres sont obscurcis,
4 and to shut door in/on/with street in/on/with to abase voice: sound [the] mill and to arise: rise to/for voice: sound [the] bird and to bow all daughter [the] song
où les deux battants de la porte se ferment sur la rue quand s’abaisse le bruit de la meule, où l’on se lève au chant de l’oiseau, où s’affaiblissent toutes les filles du chant,
5 also from high to fear and terror in/on/with way: journey and to spurn [the] almond and to bear [the] locust and to break [the] desire for to go: went [the] man to(wards) house: home forever: enduring his and to turn: turn in/on/with street [the] to mourn
où l’on redoute ce qui est élevé, où l’on a des terreurs en chemin, où l’amandier fleurit, où la sauterelle devient pesante, et où la câpre n’a plus d’effet, car l’homme s’en va vers sa demeure éternelle, et les pleureurs parcourent les rues;
6 till which not (to bind *QK) cord [the] silver: money and to crush bowl [the] gold and to break jar upon [the] spring and to crush [the] wheel to(wards) [the] pit
avant que le cordon d’argent se détache, que le vase d’or se brise, que le seau se rompe sur la source, et que la roue se casse sur la citerne;
7 and to return: return [the] dust upon [the] land: soil like/as which/that to be and [the] spirit to return: return to(wards) [the] God which to give: give her
avant que la poussière retourne à la terre, comme elle y était, et que l’esprit retourne à Dieu qui l’a donné.
8 vanity vanity to say [the] preacher [the] all vanity
Vanité des vanités, dit l’Ecclésiaste, tout est vanité.
9 and advantage which/that to be preacher wise still to learn: teach knowledge [obj] [the] people and to ponder and to search be straight proverb to multiply
Outre que l’Ecclésiaste fut un sage, il a encore enseigné la science au peuple, et il a examiné, sondé, mis en ordre un grand nombre de sentences.
10 to seek preacher to/for to find word pleasure and to write uprightness word truth: true
L’Ecclésiaste s’est efforcé de trouver des paroles agréables; et ce qui a été écrit avec droiture, ce sont des paroles de vérité.
11 word wise like/as goad and like/as nail to plant master: [master of] collection to give: give from to pasture one
Les paroles des sages sont comme des aiguillons; et, rassemblées en un recueil, elles sont comme des clous plantés, données par un seul maître.
12 and advantage from them son: child my to warn to make scroll: book to multiply nothing end and study to multiply weariness flesh
Du reste, mon fils, tire instruction de ces choses; on ne finirait pas, si l’on voulait faire un grand nombre de livres, et beaucoup d’étude est une fatigue pour le corps.
13 end word: thing [the] all to hear: hear [obj] [the] God to fear: revere and [obj] commandment his to keep: obey for this all [the] man
Écoutons la fin du discours: Crains Dieu et observe ses commandements. C’est là ce que doit faire tout homme.
14 for [obj] all deed [the] God to come (in): bring in/on/with justice: judgement upon all to conceal if pleasant and if bad: evil
Car Dieu amènera toute œuvre en jugement, au sujet de tout ce qui est caché, soit bien, soit mal.
