1 Kings 20
1 and Ben-hadad Ben-hadad king Syria to gather [obj] all strength: soldiers his and thirty and two king with him and horse and chariot and to ascend: rise and to confine upon Samaria and to fight in/on/with her
Ben-Hadad, roi de Syrie, rassembla toute son armée; il avait avec lui trente-deux rois, des chevaux et des chars. Il monta, mit le siège devant Samarie et l’attaqua.
2 and to send: depart messenger to(wards) Ahab king Israel [the] city [to] and to say to/for him thus to say Ben-hadad Ben-hadad
Il envoya dans la ville des messagers à Achab, roi d’Israël,
3 silver: money your and gold your to/for me he/she/it and woman: wife your and son: child your [the] pleasant to/for me they(masc.)
et lui fit dire: Ainsi parle Ben-Hadad: Ton argent et ton or sont à moi, tes femmes et tes plus beaux enfants sont à moi.
4 and to answer king Israel and to say like/as word: speaking your lord my [the] king to/for you I and all which to/for me
Le roi d’Israël répondit: Roi, mon seigneur, comme tu le dis, je suis à toi avec tout ce que j’ai.
5 and to return: again [the] messenger and to say thus to say Ben-hadad Ben-hadad to/for to say for to send: depart to(wards) you to/for to say silver: money your and gold your and woman: wife your and son: child your to/for me to give: give
Les messagers retournèrent, et dirent: Ainsi parle Ben-Hadad: Je t’ai fait dire: Tu me livreras ton argent et ton or, tes femmes et tes enfants.
6 for if: except like/as time tomorrow to send: depart [obj] servant/slave my to(wards) you and to search [obj] house: home your and [obj] house: home servant/slave your and to be all desire eye: appearance your to set: take in/on/with hand: themselves their and to take: take
J’enverrai donc demain, à cette heure, mes serviteurs chez toi; ils fouilleront ta maison et les maisons de tes serviteurs, ils mettront la main sur tout ce que tu as de précieux, et ils l’emporteront.
7 and to call: call to king Israel to/for all old: elder [the] land: country/planet and to say to know please and to see: see for distress: harm this to seek for to send: depart to(wards) me to/for woman: wife my and to/for son: child my and to/for silver: money my and to/for gold my and not to withhold from him
Le roi d’Israël appela tous les anciens du pays, et il dit: Sentez bien et comprenez que cet homme nous veut du mal; car il m’a envoyé demander mes femmes et mes enfants, mon argent et mon or, et je ne lui avais pas refusé!
8 and to say to(wards) him all [the] old: elder and all [the] people not to hear: hear and not be willing
Tous les anciens et tout le peuple dirent à Achab: Ne l’écoute pas et ne consens pas.
9 and to say to/for messenger Ben-hadad Ben-hadad to say to/for lord my [the] king all which to send: depart to(wards) servant/slave your in/on/with first to make: do and [the] word: thing [the] this not be able to/for to make: do and to go: went [the] messenger and to return: return him word
Et il dit aux messagers de Ben-Hadad: Dites à mon seigneur le roi: Je ferai tout ce que tu as envoyé demander à ton serviteur la première fois; mais pour cette chose, je ne puis pas la faire. Les messagers s’en allèrent, et lui portèrent la réponse.
10 and to send: depart to(wards) him Ben-hadad Ben-hadad and to say thus to make: do [emph?] to/for me God and thus to add if to suffice dust Samaria to/for handful to/for all [the] people which in/on/with foot my
Ben-Hadad envoya dire à Achab: Que les dieux me traitent dans toute leur rigueur, si la poussière de Samarie suffit pour remplir le creux de la main de tout le peuple qui me suit!
11 and to answer king Israel and to say to speak: speak not to boast: boast to gird like/as to open
Et le roi d’Israël répondit: Que celui qui revêt une armure ne se glorifie pas comme celui qui la dépose!
12 and to be like/as to hear: hear [obj] [the] word [the] this and he/she/it to drink he/she/it and [the] king in/on/with booth and to say to(wards) servant/slave his to set: take and to set: take upon [the] city
Lorsque Ben-Hadad reçut cette réponse, il était à boire avec les rois sous les tentes, et il dit à ses serviteurs: Faites vos préparatifs! Et ils firent leurs préparatifs contre la ville.
13 and behold prophet one to approach: approach to(wards) Ahab king Israel and to say thus to say LORD to see: see [obj] all [the] crowd [the] great: large [the] this look! I to give: give him in/on/with hand: power your [the] day: today and to know for I LORD
Mais voici, un prophète s’approcha d’Achab, roi d’Israël, et il dit: Ainsi parle l’Éternel: Vois-tu toute cette grande multitude? Je vais la livrer aujourd’hui entre tes mains, et tu sauras que je suis l’Éternel.
14 and to say Ahab in/on/with who? and to say thus to say LORD in/on/with youth ruler [the] province and to say who? to bind [the] battle and to say you(m. s.)
Achab dit: Par qui? Et il répondit: Ainsi parle l’Éternel: Par les serviteurs des chefs des provinces. Achab dit: Qui engagera le combat? Et il répondit: Toi.
15 and to reckon: list [obj] youth ruler [the] province and to be hundred two and thirty and after them to reckon: list [obj] all [the] people all son: descendant/people Israel seven thousand
Alors Achab passa en revue les serviteurs des chefs des provinces, et il s’en trouva deux cent trente-deux; et après eux, il passa en revue tout le peuple, tous les enfants d’Israël, et ils étaient sept mille.
16 and to come out: come in/on/with midday and Ben-hadad Ben-hadad to drink drunken in/on/with booth he/she/it and [the] king thirty and two king to help [obj] him
Ils firent une sortie à midi. Ben-Hadad buvait et s’enivrait sous les tentes avec les trente-deux rois, ses auxiliaires.
17 and to come out: come youth ruler [the] province in/on/with first and to send: depart Ben-hadad Ben-hadad and to tell to/for him to/for to say human to come out: come from Samaria
Les serviteurs des chefs des provinces sortirent les premiers. Ben-Hadad s’informa, et on lui fit ce rapport: Des hommes sont sortis de Samarie.
18 and to say if to/for peace to come out: come to capture them alive and if to/for battle to come out: come alive to capture them
Il dit: S’ils sortent pour la paix, saisissez-les vivants; et s’ils sortent pour le combat, saisissez-les vivants.
19 and these to come out: come from [the] city youth ruler [the] province and [the] strength: soldiers which after them
Lorsque les serviteurs des chefs des provinces et l’armée qui les suivait furent sortis de la ville,
20 and to smite man: anyone man his and to flee Syria and to pursue them Israel and to escape Ben-hadad Ben-hadad king Syria upon horse and horseman
chacun frappa son homme, et les Syriens prirent la fuite. Israël les poursuivit. Ben-Hadad, roi de Syrie, se sauva sur un cheval, avec des cavaliers.
21 and to come out: come king Israel and to smite [obj] [the] horse and [obj] [the] chariot and to smite in/on/with Syria wound great: large
Le roi d’Israël sortit, frappa les chevaux et les chars, et fit éprouver aux Syriens une grande défaite.
22 and to approach: approach [the] prophet to(wards) king Israel and to say to/for him to go: come! to strengthen: strengthen and to know and to see: examine [obj] which to make: do for to/for turn [the] year king Syria to ascend: rise upon you
Alors le prophète s’approcha du roi d’Israël, et lui dit: Va, fortifie toi, examine et vois ce que tu as à faire; car, au retour de l’année, le roi de Syrie montera contre toi.
23 and servant/slave king Syria to say to(wards) him God mountain: mount God their upon so to strengthen: strengthen from us and but to fight with them in/on/with plain if: surely yes not to strengthen: strengthen from them
Les serviteurs du roi de Syrie lui dirent: Leur dieu est un dieu de montagnes; c’est pourquoi ils ont été plus forts que nous. Mais combattons-les dans la plaine, et l’on verra si nous ne serons pas plus forts qu’eux.
24 and [obj] [the] word: thing [the] this to make: do to turn aside: remove [the] king man: anyone from place his and to set: put governor underneath: instead them
Fais encore ceci: ôte chacun des rois de son poste, et remplace-les par des chefs;
25 and you(m. s.) to count to/for you strength: soldiers like/as strength: soldiers [the] to fall: fall from [obj] you and horse like/as horse and chariot like/as chariot and to fight [obj] them in/on/with plain if: surely yes not to strengthen: strengthen from them and to hear: hear to/for voice their and to make: do so
et forme-toi une armée pareille à celle que tu as perdue, avec autant de chevaux et autant de chars. Puis nous les combattrons dans la plaine, et l’on verra si nous ne serons pas plus forts qu’eux. Il les écouta, et fit ainsi.
26 and to be to/for turn [the] year and to reckon: list Ben-hadad Ben-hadad [obj] Syria and to ascend: rise Aphek [to] to/for battle with Israel
L’année suivante, Ben-Hadad passa les Syriens en revue, et monta vers Aphek pour combattre Israël.
27 and son: descendant/people Israel to reckon: list and to sustain and to go: went to/for to encounter: toward them and to camp son: descendant/people Israel before them like/as two little flock goat and Syria to fill [obj] [the] land: country/planet
Les enfants d’Israël furent aussi passés en revue; ils reçurent des vivres, et ils marchèrent à la rencontre des Syriens. Ils campèrent vis-à-vis d’eux, semblables à deux petits troupeaux de chèvres, tandis que les Syriens remplissaient le pays.
28 and to approach: approach man [the] God and to say to(wards) king Israel and to say thus to say LORD because which to say Syria God mountain: mount LORD and not God valley he/she/it and to give: give [obj] all [the] crowd [the] great: large [the] this in/on/with hand: power your and to know for I LORD
L’homme de Dieu s’approcha, et dit au roi d’Israël: Ainsi parle l’Éternel: Parce que les Syriens ont dit: L’Éternel est un dieu des montagnes et non un dieu des vallées, je livrerai toute cette grande multitude entre tes mains, et vous saurez que je suis l’Éternel.
29 and to camp these before these seven day and to be in/on/with day [the] seventh and to present: come [the] battle and to smite son: descendant/people Israel [obj] Syria hundred thousand on foot in/on/with day one
Ils campèrent sept jours en face les uns des autres. Le septième jour, le combat s’engagea, et les enfants d’Israël tuèrent aux Syriens cent mille hommes de pied en un jour.
30 and to flee [the] to remain Aphek [to] to(wards) [the] city and to fall: fall [the] wall upon twenty and seven thousand man [the] to remain and Ben-hadad Ben-hadad to flee and to come (in): come to(wards) [the] city chamber in/on/with chamber
Le reste s’enfuit à la ville d’Aphek, et la muraille tomba sur vingt-sept mille hommes qui restaient. Ben-Hadad s’était réfugié dans la ville, où il allait de chambre en chambre.
31 and to say to(wards) him servant/slave his behold please to hear: hear for king house: household Israel for king kindness they(masc.) to set: put please sackcloth in/on/with loin our and cord in/on/with head our and to come out: come to(wards) king Israel perhaps to live [obj] soul: life your
Ses serviteurs lui dirent: Voici, nous avons appris que les rois de la maison d’Israël sont des rois miséricordieux; nous allons mettre des sacs sur nos reins et des cordes à nos têtes, et nous sortirons vers le roi d’Israël: peut-être qu’il te laissera la vie.
32 and to gird sackcloth in/on/with loin their and cord in/on/with head their and to come (in): come to(wards) king Israel and to say servant/slave your Ben-hadad Ben-hadad to say to live please soul: life my and to say still he alive brother: compatriot my he/she/it
Ils se mirent des sacs autour des reins et des cordes autour de la tête, et ils allèrent auprès du roi d’Israël. Ils dirent: Ton serviteur Ben-Hadad dit: Laisse-moi la vie! Achab répondit: Est-il encore vivant? Il est mon frère.
33 and [the] human to divine and to hasten and to catch from him and to say brother: compatriot your Ben-hadad Ben-hadad and to say to come (in): come to take: bring him and to come out: come to(wards) him Ben-hadad Ben-hadad and to ascend: rise him upon [the] chariot
Ces hommes tirèrent de là un bon augure, et ils se hâtèrent de le prendre au mot et de dire: Ben-Hadad est ton frère! Et il dit: Allez, amenez-le. Ben-Hadad vint vers lui, et Achab le fit monter sur son char.
34 and to say to(wards) him [the] city which to take: take father my from with father your to return: rescue and outside to set: make to/for you in/on/with Damascus like/as as which to set: make father my in/on/with Samaria and I in/on/with covenant to send: let go you and to cut: make(covenant) to/for him covenant and to send: let go him
Ben-Hadad lui dit: Je te rendrai les villes que mon père a prises à ton père; et tu établiras pour toi des rues à Damas, comme mon père en avait établi à Samarie. Et moi, reprit Achab, je te laisserai aller, en faisant une alliance. Il fit alliance avec lui, et le laissa aller.
35 and man one from son: child [the] prophet to say to(wards) neighbor his in/on/with word LORD to smite me please and to refuse [the] man to/for to smite him
L’un des fils des prophètes dit à son compagnon, d’après l’ordre de l’Éternel: Frappe-moi, je te prie! Mais cet homme refusa de le frapper.
36 and to say to/for him because which not to hear: obey in/on/with voice LORD look! you to go: went from with me and to smite you [the] lion and to go: went from beside him and to find him [the] lion and to smite him
Alors il lui dit: Parce que tu n’as pas obéi à la voix de l’Éternel, voici, quand tu m’auras quitté, le lion te frappera. Et quand il l’eut quitté, le lion le rencontra et le frappa.
37 and to find man another and to say to smite me please and to smite him [the] man to smite and to wound
Il trouva un autre homme, et il dit: Frappe-moi, je te prie! Cet homme le frappa et le blessa.
38 and to go: went [the] prophet and to stand: stand to/for king (upon *LH) [the] way: road and to search in/on/with bandage upon eye his
Le prophète alla se placer sur le chemin du roi, et il se déguisa avec un bandeau sur les yeux.
39 and to be [the] king to pass and he/she/it to cry to(wards) [the] king and to say servant/slave your to come out: come in/on/with entrails: among [the] battle and behold man to turn aside: turn aside and to come (in): bring to(wards) me man and to say to keep: guard [obj] [the] man [the] this if to reckon: missing to reckon: missing and to be soul: life your underneath: instead soul: life his or talent silver: money to weigh
Lorsque le roi passa, il cria vers lui, et dit: Ton serviteur était au milieu du combat; et voici, un homme s’approche et m’amène un homme, en disant: Garde cet homme; s’il vient à manquer, ta vie répondra de sa vie, ou tu paieras un talent d’argent!
40 and to be servant/slave your to make: do here/thus and here/thus and he/she/it nothing he and to say to(wards) him king Israel so justice: judgement your you(m. s.) to decide
Et pendant que ton serviteur agissait çà et là, l’homme a disparu. Le roi d’Israël lui dit: C’est là ton jugement; tu l’as prononcé toi-même.
41 and to hasten and to turn aside: remove [obj] [the] bandage (from upon *Qk) eye his and to recognize [obj] him king Israel for from [the] prophet he/she/it
Aussitôt le prophète ôta le bandeau de dessus ses yeux, et le roi d’Israël le reconnut pour l’un des prophètes.
42 and to say to(wards) him thus to say LORD because to send: let go [obj] man devoted thing my from hand: power and to be soul: life your underneath: instead soul: life his and people your underneath: instead people his
Il dit alors au roi: Ainsi parle l’Éternel: Parce que tu as laissé échapper de tes mains l’homme que j’avais dévoué par interdit, ta vie répondra de sa vie, et ton peuple de son peuple.
43 and to go: went king Israel upon house: palace his stubborn and vexed and to come (in): come Samaria [to]
Le roi d’Israël s’en alla chez lui, triste et irrité, et il arriva à Samarie.
