Nu, der I mig om skrefven, svarar jag. Det är mannenom godt, att han intet befattar sig med hustru.

Dock likväl, till att undfly boleri, hafve hvar och en sina hustru, och hvar och en sin man.

Mannen skall låta få hustrune skyldig välviljoghet, och sammalunda hustrun mannen.

Hustrun hafver icke sjelf magt öfver sin egen kropp, utan mannen; sammalunda mannen hafver icke magt öfver sin egen kropp, utan hustrun.

Drager eder icke undan för hvarannan, utan det sker med begges edra samtycko, till en tid, att I mågen hafva tom till fasto och böner; och kommer så igen tillsammans, att djefvulen icke skall fresta eder för edor okyskhets skull.

Men sådant säger jag eder efter tillstädjelse, och icke efter bud;

Dem ogiftom och enkom säger jag: Godt är dem, om de blifva såsom ock jag.

Men kunna de icke hålla sig, så gifte sig; ty det är bättre gifta sig, än brinna.

Men dem giftom bjuder icke jag, utan Herren: Hustrun skilje sig icke ifrå mannen.
11 if then and to separate/leave to stay unmarried or the/this/who man: husband to reconcile and man: husband woman: wife not to release: leave
Skiljes hon ock ifrå honom, så blifve ogift, eller förlike sig med mannen igen; och mannen öfvergifve icke hustruna.
12 the/this/who then remaining to say I/we no the/this/who lord: God if one brother woman: wife to have/be unbelieving and this/he/she/it to agree to to dwell with/after it/s/he not to release: leave it/s/he
Dem androm säger jag, icke Herren: Om så är, att en broder hafver ena otrogna hustru, och hon hafver vilja till att bo med honom; skilje då han icke henne ifrå sig.

Och om en qvinna hafver en otrogen man, och han hafver vilja till att blifva när henne; skilje icke då honom ifrå sig.

Ty den otrogne mannen är helgad genom hustruna, och den otrogna hustrun är helgad genom mannen; annars vordo edor barn oren; men nu äro de helig.

Om ock den otrogne vill skiljas, så låt honom skiljas. En broder eller syster är icke bunden till egendom i sådana fallom; utan i frid hafver Gud kallat oss.

Ty huru vetst du, qvinna, om du kan göra mannen salig? Eller huru vetst du, man, om du kan göra hustruna saliga?

Dock såsom Gud hafver hvarjom och enom utdelat. Hvar och en, såsom Herren honom kallat hafver, så vandre han. Och så stadgar jag i alla församlingar.

Är någor omskoren kallad, han begäre icke förhud; är någor kallad i förhuden, han låte icke omskära sig.

Omskärelsen är intet, och förhuden är intet; utan hålla Guds bud.
20 each in/on/among the/this/who calling which to call: call in/on/among this/he/she/it to stay
Hvar och en blifve uti den kallelse, i hvilka han kallad är.
21 slave to call: call not you to concern but if: even though and be able free/freedom to be more: rather to use
Äst du kallad i träldom, haf der ingen sorg om; dock kan du fri varda, så bruka det heldre;
22 the/this/who for in/on/among lord: God to call: call slave freed lord: God to be similarly (and *k) the/this/who free/freedom to call: call slave to be Christ
Ty den som i träldom kallad är i Herranom, han är Herrans fri; sammalunda ock den som kallad är i frihet, han är Christi egen vorden.
23 honor to buy not to be slave a human
I ären dyrt köpte; blifver icke menniskors trälar.

Hvar och en, käre bröder, der han uti kallad är, der blifve han uti när Gudi.

Men om jungfrur hafver jag icke Herrans bud; utan jag säger mina mening, såsom den der barmhertighet fått hafver af Herranom, till att vara trogen.

Så menar jag nu sådant vara godt, för den nöd som förhanden är, att menniskone skall godt vara så blifva.

Äst du vid hustru bunden, begära icke skiljas vid henne; äst du ock utan hustru, så begära icke hustru.
28 if then and to marry no to sin and if to marry the/this/who virgin no to sin pressure then the/this/who flesh to have/be the/this/who such as this I/we then you to spare
Men gifter du dig, syndar du intet, och om en jungfru gifter sig, syndar hon intet; dock varda sådana lidande lekamlig bekymmer; men jag skonade eder gerna.
29 this/he/she/it then to assert brother the/this/who time/right time to wrap up (to be *no) the/this/who henceforth (to be *k) in order that/to and the/this/who to have/be woman: wife as/when not to have/be to be
Men det säger jag: Käre bröder, tiden är kort. Öfver detta: De som hustrur hafva, vare såsom de inga hade;
30 and the/this/who to weep as/when not to weep and the/this/who to rejoice as/when not to rejoice and the/this/who to buy as/when not to hold back/fast
Och de som gråta, såsom de intet greto; och de som fröjda sig, såsom de fröjdade sig intet; och de som köpa, såsom de behöllo det intet;

Och de som bruka denna verldena, såsom de brukade icke; ty denna verldenes väsende förgås.

Men jag ville gerna, att I voren utan omsorg. Den der ogift är, han aktar det Herranom tillhörer, huru han skall täckas Herranom.
33 the/this/who then to marry to worry the/this/who the/this/who world how! (to please *N+kO) the/this/who woman: wife
Men den som gifter sig, han aktar hvad verldene tillhörer, att han skall behaga hustrune.
34 (and *no) to divide and the/this/who woman the/this/who unmarried and the/this/who virgin to worry the/this/who the/this/who lord: God in order that/to to be holy and (the/this/who *no) body and (the/this/who *no) spirit/breath: spirit the/this/who then to marry to worry the/this/who the/this/who world how! (to please *N+kO) the/this/who man: husband
Och det är skilnad på en qvinna, och en jungfru; den som ogift är, hon aktar det Herranom tillhörer, att hon skall blifva helig både till kropp och till anda; men den som gifter sig, hon aktar det verldene tillhörer, huru hon skall behaga mannenom.
35 this/he/she/it then to/with the/this/who you it/s/he (be profitable *N+kO) to say no in order that/to restraint you to put on/seize but to/with the/this/who proper and devoted the/this/who lord: God undistracted
Men detta säger jag till det som eder kan gagneligit vara, och icke att jag vill kasta band på eder; utan på det I skolen efterfölja det ärligit är, och blifva vid Herran, utan allt hinder.
36 if then one to act improperly upon/to/against the/this/who virgin it/s/he to think if to be past one’s prime and thus(-ly) to owe to be which to will/desire to do/make: do no to sin to marry
Men om någor låter sig tycka, att det icke väl skickar sig med hans jungfru, sedan hon väl manväxt är, och det vill icke annars vara, så göre som han vill, han syndar intet; han låte henne gifta sig.
37 which then to stand in/on/among the/this/who heart (it/s/he *no) steadfast not to have/be necessity authority then to have/be about the/this/who one's own/private will/desire and this/he/she/it to judge in/on/among the/this/who (one's own/private *N+kO) heart (the/this/who *k) to keep: protect the/this/who themself virgin well (to do/make: do *N+kO)
Men om en sätter sig fast före, efter han onödd är, och hafver sin fria vilja, och besluter detta i sitt hjerta, att låta sina jungfru så blifva, han gör väl.
38 so and the/this/who (then *o) (to give in marriage *N+kO) (the/this/who themself virgin *NO) well to do/make: do (and *N+kO) the/this/who not (to give in marriage *N+kO) greater (to do/make: do *N+kO)
Den nu utgifter henne, han gör väl; men den icke utgifter henne, han gör bätter.
39 woman: wife to bind (law *K) upon/to/against just as/how much time to live the/this/who man: husband it/s/he if then (and *o) to sleep the/this/who man: husband (it/s/he *k) free/freedom to be which to will/desire to marry alone in/on/among lord: God
Hustrun är bunden till lagen, så länge hennes man lefver; men när hennes man är afsomnad, är hon fri att gifva sig enom androm, hvem hon vill; dock att det sker i Herranom.
40 blessed then to be if thus(-ly) to stay according to the/this/who I/we resolution to think (then *NK+o) I/we and spirit/breath: spirit God to have/be
Men saligare är hon, om hon så blifver, efter mitt sinne; jag menar, att jag ock hafver Guds Anda.
