Agora, quero lhes explicar isto, irmãos e irmãs, que nossos antepassados viveram protegidos pela nuvem e todos passaram pelo mar.

Agora, essas experiências são exemplos para nós, para nos mostrar que não devemos desejar o que é mau, como eles fizeram.

Então, o que eu estou dizendo? Que o que é oferecido aos ídolos tem algum valor ou que um ídolo existe realmente? É claro que não!

Os pagãos estão fazendo sacrifícios aos demônios e, não, a Deus. Eu não quero que vocês tenham qualquer ligação com os demônios!

Vocês não podem beber do cálice do Senhor e também do cálice dos demônios. Vocês não podem comer à mesa do Senhor e também não podem fazê-lo à mesa dos demônios.

Se escolho comer com gratidão, por que eu deveria ser criticado por comer pelo que já agradeci a Deus?

Então, se vocês comerem ou beberem, ou seja lá o que fizerem, tenham certeza de fazer tudo para a glória de Deus.

Não ofendam os judeus, nem os não-judeus, nem a igreja de Deus.

Façam como eu e tentem agradar a todos em tudo o que fizerem. Eu não penso em me beneficiar, mas, sim, no que beneficiaria os outros, para que, assim, eles possam ser salvos.
