Romans 7

1 Or are you ignorant, brothers — to those knowing for law I speak — that the law rules over the man for as long as [the] time he is alive?

੧ਹੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ, ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਤੋਂ ਅਣਜਾਣ ਹੋ (ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ) ਕਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਿਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਿਰ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ?

2 The for married woman to the living husband has been bound by law; if however shall die the husband, she has been cleared from the law of the husband.

੨ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸੁਹਾਗਣ ਵੀ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਤੀ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਜੇ ਪਤੀ ਮਰ ਜਾਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਤੋਂ ਛੁੱਟ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

3 Then therefore while is living the husband an adulteress she will be called if she shall become [married] to man another; if however shall die the husband, free she is from the law which not to be her an adulteress having become [married] to man another.

੩ਪਰ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਜੀ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਵਿਭਚਾਰਣ ਕਹਾਵੇਗੀ ਪਰ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਪਤੀ ਮਰ ਜਾਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਤੋਂ ਛੁੱਟ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਦੂਜੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਵਿਭਚਾਰਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।

4 Likewise, brothers of mine, also you yourselves were put to death to the law through the body of Christ for to belong you to another, to the [One] out from [the] dead having been raised, so that we may bear fruit to God.

੪ਸੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਵਸੀਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਰ ਗਏ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੂਏ ਦੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਓ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿਵਾਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਫਲ ਦੇਈਏ।

5 While for we were in the flesh, the passions of sins that [were] through the law were at work in the members of us to the bringing forth of fruit to death;

੫ਜਦ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਸੀ, ਤਦ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਾਮਨਾਵਾਂ ਜੋ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਨ ਸਾਡੇ ਅੰਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਫਲ ਦੇਣ।

6 Now however we have been released from the law having died to that which we were bound, in order for to serve us in newness of [the] Spirit and not in oldness of [the] letter.

੬ਪਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਹ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੱਧੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੀ, ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਤੋਂ ਹੁਣ ਛੁੱਟ ਗਏ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਨਵੀਂ ਰੀਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਨਾ ਕਿ ਲਿਖਤ ਦੀ ਪੁਰਾਣੀ ਰੀਤ ਉੱਤੇ।

7 What then will we say? [Is] the law sin? Never would it be! But sin not I have known only except through law; then for covetousness not I had known, only except the law was saying; Not you will covet;

੭ਹੁਣ, ਅਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਆਖੀਏ? ਕੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਪਾਪ ਹੈ? ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ! ਸਗੋਂ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਪਾਪ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੇ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਨਾ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ ਕਿ ਲਾਲਚ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਲਾਲਚ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਜਾਣਦਾ।

8 An occasion however having taken sin through the commandment it produced in me myself all covetousness; apart from for [the] Law sin [is] dead;

੮ਪਰ ਪਾਪ ਨੇ ਮੌਕਾ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਹੁਕਮਨਾਮੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਲੋਭ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਪ ਮੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

9 I myself however was alive apart from law once; when was coming however the commandment the sin revived, I myself then died,

੯ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਜਦ ਹੁਕਮਨਾਮਾ ਆਇਆ ਤਦ ਪਾਪ ਜੀ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ।

10 And proved to be me the commandment that [was] to life this to death;

੧੦ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹੁਕਮਨਾਮਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਸੀ ਉਹੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਵਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

11 The for sin an occasion having taken through the commandment deceived me and through it put [me] to death;

੧੧ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਪਾਪ ਨੇ ਮੌਕਾ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਹੁਕਮਨਾਮੇ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵਸੀਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ।

12 So indeed the law [is] holy and the commandment [is] holy and righteous and good.

੧੨ਸੋ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ, ਹੁਕਮਨਾਮਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਠੀਕ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ।

13 That which then [is] good to me myself (became *N+kO) death? Never would it be! But sin, in order that it may be shown as sin, through that which [is] good to me is working out death, so that may become beyond excess sinful sin through the commandment.

੧੩ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ, ਕੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਮੌਤ ਬਣਿਆ? ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ! ਪਰ ਪਾਪ ਨੇ ਕਿ ਪਾਪ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋਵੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਚੰਗੀ ਗੱਲ ਦੇ ਵਸੀਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੌਤ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਹੁਕਮਨਾਮੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਪਾਪ ਅੱਤ ਬੁਰਾ ਠਹਿਰੇ।

14 We know for that the Law spiritual is, I myself however (fleshly *N+kO) am sold under sin.

੧੪ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ।

15 What for I do not I understand; not for what I want this I do, but what I hate this I do.

੧੫ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਜੋ ਕੀ ਕਰਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਜੋ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

16 If now that which not I do want this I do, I consent to the law that [it is] good;

੧੬ਪਰ ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਚੰਗੀ ਹੈ।

17 In that case now no longer no longer I myself am doing it but that which (is dwelling *NK+o) in me myself sin.

੧੭ਸੋ ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਇਸ ਹਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਪਾਪ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।

18 I know for that nothing dwells in me myself, That is in the flesh of mine, good; for to wish [to do] is present with me, but to do the good not (find. *K)

੧੮ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਕੋਈ ਭਲੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਨਹੀਂ। ਇਰਾਦਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਭਲਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ ਨਹੀਂ।

19 Not for that I desire I do good, but that not I do want evil this I practice.

੧੯ਜਿਹੜੀ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਮੈਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

20 If now what not I do want (I myself *NK) this do, no longer no longer I myself who do it but that which is dwelling in me myself sin.

੨੦ਪਰ ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਪਾਪ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।

21 I find so the principle that which is desiring me myself to do good that me myself evil is present with.

੨੧ਸੋ ਮੈਂ ਅੰਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਕਨੂੰਨ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਉਦੋਂ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

22 I delight for in the law of God according to the inward man,

੨੨ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਅੰਦਰਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਨੰਦ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

23 I see however another law in the members of mine warring against the law of the mind of mine and making captive me (to *no) the law of sin which is being in the members of mine.

੨੩ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਕਨੂੰਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਬੁੱਧ ਦੇ ਕਨੂੰਨ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਪਾਪ ਦੇ ਕਨੂੰਨ ਦੇ ਜੋ ਮੇਰਿਆਂ ਅੰਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ, ਬੰਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਈ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

24 O wretched I myself [am] man! Who me will deliver out of the body of death this?

੨੪ਮੈਂ ਕਿੰਨਾਂ ਮੰਦਭਾਗੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਾਂ! ਕੌਣ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਡਾਵੇਗਾ?

25 (Thanks [be] *N+KO) (then *no) to God through Jesus Christ the Lord of us! Then so myself I myself with the indeed mind serve law of God but [with] the flesh [the] law of sin.

੨੫ਮਸੀਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਵਸੀਲੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਹੋਵੇ! ਸੋ ਮੈਂ ਆਪ ਬੁੱਧ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਕਨੂੰਨ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਪਰ ਸਰੀਰ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਪ ਦੇ ਕਨੂੰਨ ਦੀ।
