Matthew 21
1 And when they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage (on *N(k)O*) the Mount of Olives, then (*ko*) Jesus sent two disciples
| ויהי כאשר קרבו לירושלים ובאו אל בית פגי בהר הזיתים וישלח ישוע שנים מן התלמידים׃ |
2 saying to them; (do go *N(k)O*) into the village which [is] (in front *N(k)O*) of you. and immediately you will find a donkey tied and a colt with her; having untied [them] (do bring [them] *NK(o)*) to Me.
| ויאמר אליהם לכו אל הכפר אשר ממולכם שם תמצאו אתון אסורה ועיר עמה התירו אתם והביאו אלי׃ |
3 And if anyone to you may say anything, you will say that the Lord of them need has, Immediately then (he will send *NK(o)*) them.
| וכי יאמר איש אליכם דבר ואמרתם האדון צריך להם וברגע ישלחם׃ |
4 This then (all *k*) has come to pass that it may be fulfilled that having been spoken through the prophet saying;
| וכל זאת היתה למלאת הנאמר ביד הנביא לאמר׃ |
5 do say to the daughter of Zion; Behold the King of you comes to you, gentle and already riding on a donkey even (upon *no*) a colt [the] foal of a beast of burden.
| אמרו לבת ציון הנה מלכך יבוא לך עני ורכב על חמור ועל עיר בן אתנות׃ |
6 Having gone then the disciples and having done even as (directed *N(k)O*) to them Jesus,
| וילכו התלמידים ויעשו כאשר צוה אתם ישוע׃ |
7 they brought the donkey and the colt and put (upon *N(k)O*) them the cloaks (of them *k*) and He sat on them.
| ויביאו את האתון ואת העיר וישימו עליהם את בגדיהם וירכיבהו עליהם׃ |
8 The now very great crowd spread their own cloaks on the road, others now were cutting down branches from the trees and were spreading [them] on the road.
| ורב ההמון פרשו את בגדיהם על הדרך ואחרים כרתו ענפי עצים וישטחום על הדרך׃ |
9 The now crowds which are going before (Him *no*) and those following they were crying out saying: Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed [is] the [One] coming in [the] name of [the] Lord! Hosanna in the highest!
| והמון העם ההלכים לפניו ואחריו קראו לאמר הושע נא לבן דוד ברוך הבא בשם יהוה הושע נא במרומים׃ |
10 And when was entering He into Jerusalem was stirred all the city saying; Who is this?
| ויהי בבאו ירושלים ותהם כל העיר לאמר מי הוא זה׃ |
11 And the crowds were saying; This is the prophet Jesus, the [One] from Nazareth of Galilee.
| ויאמרו המני העם זה הוא הנביא ישוע מנצרת אשר בגליל׃ |
12 And entered (*k*) Jesus into the temple (of God *K*) and cast out all those selling and buying in the temple, and the tables of the money changers He overturned and the seats of those selling the doves.
| ויבא ישוע אל מקדש האלהים ויגרש משם את כל המוכרים והקונים במקדש ויהפך את שלחנות השלחנים ואת מושבות מכרי היונים׃ |
13 And He says to them; It has been written: The house of Mine a house of prayer will be called,’ You yourselves however it (make *N(k)O*) a den of robbers.’
| ויאמר אליהם הן כתוב כי ביתי בית תפלה יקרא ואתם שמתם אתו למערת פריצים׃ |
14 And came to Him blind and lame in the temple, and He healed them.
| ויגשו אליו עורים ופסחים במקדש וירפאם׃ |
15 Having seen now the chief priests and the scribes the wonders that He did and the children (who *no*) are crying out in the temple and saying; Hosanna to the Son of David, they were indignant
| ויהי כראות הכהנים הגדולים והסופרים את הנפלאות אשר עשה ואת הילדים הצעקים במקדש ואמרים הושע נא לבן דוד ויחר להם׃ |
16 and said to Him; Hear you what these say? And Jesus says to them; Yes. surely sometime you did read that Out of [the] mouth of babes and sucklings You have prepared for yourself praise’?
| ויאמרו אליו השמע אתה את אשר אלה אמרים ויאמר ישוע אליהם כן הכי קרא לא קראתם מפי עוללים ויונקים יסדת עז׃ |
17 And having left them He went out of the city to Bethany and He passed the night there.
| ויעזבם ויצא מחוץ לעיר אל בית היני וילן שם׃ |
18 (Early *N(k)O*) then (he is coming back *NK(o)*) into the city He became hungry,
| ובבקר שב אל העיר והוא רעב׃ |
19 And having seen fig tree one along the road He came to it and no [thing] found on it only except leaves alone And He says to it; (certainly *o*) no more from you fruit there may be to the age. And withered immediately the fig tree. (aiōn g165)
| וירא תאנה אחת על הדרך ויקרב אליה ולא מצא בה מאומה מלבד העלים ויאמר אליה מעתה לא יהיה ממך פרי עד עולם ותיבש התאנה פתאם׃ (aiōn g165) |
20 And having seen [it] the disciples marveled saying; How so quickly withered the fig tree?
| ויראו התלמידים ויתמהו לאמר איך יבשה התאנה פתאם׃ |
21 Answering now Jesus said to them; Amen I say to you; if you shall have faith and not shall doubt, not only the [miracle] of the fig tree will you do, but even if even if to the mountain this you shall say; do be taken away and do be cast into the sea, it will come to pass;
| ויען ישוע ויאמר אליהם אמן אמר אני לכם אם תהיה לכם אמונה ואינכם מסתפקים לא לבד כמעשה התאנה הזאת תעשו כי גם באמרכם אל ההר הזה הנשא והעתק אל תוך הים היו תהיה׃ |
22 And all things as much as (maybe *NK(o)*) you shall ask in prayer believing, you will receive.
| וכל אשר תשאלו בתפלה ואתם מאמינים תקחהו׃ |
23 And (when was coming He *N(k)O*) into the temple came to Him teaching the chief priests and the elders of the people saying; By what authority these things are You doing And who to You gave authority this?
| ויבא אל המקדש ויהי בלמדו שם ויגשו אליו ראשי הכהנים וזקני העם ויאמרו באי זו רשות אתה עשה אלה ומי נתן לך הרשות הזאת׃ |
24 Answering now Jesus said to them; Will ask you I myself also I myself also thing one, which if you shall tell Me I myself also I myself also to you will say by what authority these things I do.
| ויען יושע ויאמר אליהם גם אני אשאלה אתכם דבר אחד אשר אם תגידו אתו לי גם אני אגיד לכם באי זו רשות אני עשה אלה׃ |
25 The baptism (*no*) of John from where was it? From heaven or from men? And they were reasoning (among *N(k)O*) themselves saying; If we shall say; From heaven, He will say to us; Because of why then not did you believe in him?
| טבילת יוחנן מאין היתה המן השמים אם מבני אדם ויחשבו בלבבם לאמר׃ |
26 If however we shall say; From men, we fear the multitude; all for as a prophet hold John.
| אם נאמר מן השמים יאמר אלינו מדוע אפוא לא האמונתם לו ואם נאמר מבני אדם יראים אנחנו את המון העם כי כלם חשבים את יוחנן לנביא׃ |
27 And answering Jesus they said; Not do we know. Was saying to them also He himself; Neither I myself tell you by what authority these things I do.
| ויענו את ישוע ויאמרו לא ידענו ויאמר אליהם גם אני לא אמר לכם באי זו רשות אני עשה אלה׃ |
28 What however you think? A man had sons two, and having come to the first he said; Son, do go today do work in the vineyard (of mine. *k*)
| אבל מה דעתכם איש היה ולו שני בנים ויגש אל הראשון ויאמר בני לך היום ועבד בכרמי׃ |
29 And answering he said; Not I want to; Afterward however having repented he went.
| ויען ויאמר אינני אבא ואחרי כן נחם וילך׃ |
30 (and *k*) Having come (then *no*) to the (other *N(K)O*) he said likewise. And answering he said; I myself [will] sir; and not did he go.
| ויגש אל השני וידבר כזאת גם אליו ויען ויאמר הנני אדני ולא הלך׃ |
31 Which of the two did the will of the father? They say (to him: *k*) The (first. *NK(O)*) Says to them Jesus; Amen I say to you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes go before you into the kingdom of God.
| מי משניהם עשה את רצון האב ויאמרו אליו הראשון ויאמר להם ישוע אמן אמר אני לכם המוכסים והזונות יקדמו אתכם לבוא אל מלכות האלהים׃ |
32 Came for John to you in [the] way of righteousness, and not you did believe in him; however the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed in him. you yourselves then having seen (not even *N(k)O*) did repent afterward to believe him.
| כי יוחנן בא אליכם בדרך צדקה ולא האמנתם לו אבל המוכסים והזונות הם האמינו לו ואתם ראיתם ולא שבתם אחרי כן להאמין לו׃ |
33 Another parable do hear: A man (who *k*) there was a master of a house who planted a vineyard and a fence around it placed and he dug in it a winepress and he built a tower and he rented out it to farmers and he traveled abroad.
| משל אחר שמעו איש בעל בית היה ויטע האיש כרם ויעש גדר סביב לו ויחצב יקב ויבן מגדל בתוכו ויתנהו אל כרמים וילך בדרך מרחוק׃ |
34 When then drew near the season of the fruits, he sent the servants of him to the farmers to receive the fruits of him.
| ויהי בהגיע עת האסיף וישלח עבדיו אל הכרמים לקחת את פריו׃ |
35 And having taken the farmers the servants of him, the one they beat, another and they killed, another and they stoned.
| ויחזיקו הכרמים בעבדיו את זה הכו ואת זה הרגו ואת זה סקלו׃ |
36 Again he sent other servants more than the first, and they did to them likewise.
| ויוסף שלח עבדים אחרים רבים מן הראשונים ויעשו ככה גם להם׃ |
37 Afterward then he sent to them the son of him saying; They will respect the son of mine.
| ובאחרונה שלח אליהם את בנו באמרו מפני בני יגורו׃ |
38 But the farmers having seen the son said among themselves; This is the heir; come, let us kill him and (let us have *N(k)O*) the inheritance of him.
| ויהי כראות הכרמים את הבן ויאמרו איש אל אחיו זה הוא היורש לכו ונהרגהו ונאחזה בנחלתו׃ |
39 And having taking him they cast [him] out of the vineyard and killed [him].
| ויחזיקו בו וידחפוהו אל מחוץ לכרם ויהרגו אתו׃ |
40 When therefore may come the master of the vineyard, what will he do farmers to those?
| והנה כבוא בעל הכרם מה יעשה לכרמים ההם׃ |
41 They say to him; [The] wretches grievously He will destroy them and the vineyard he will rent out to other farmers who will give to him the fruits in the seasons of them.
| ויאמרו אליו ירע לרעים ויאבדם ואת הכרם יתן לכרמים אחרים אשר ישיבו לו את הפרי בעתו׃ |
42 Says to them Jesus; surely sometime you did read in the Scriptures: [The] stone which rejected those building, this has become the chief corner. From [the] Lord was this, and it is marvelous in [the] eyes of us?’
| ויאמר ישוע אליהם הכי קרא לא קראתם בכתובים אבן מאסו הבונים היתה לראש פנה מאת יהוה היתה זאת היא נפלאת בעינינו׃ |
43 Because of this I say to you that it will be taken away from you the kingdom of God and it will be given to a people producing the fruits of it.
| על כן אני אמר לכם כי תקח מכם מלכות האלהים ותנתן לגוי אשר יעשה את פריה׃ |
44 And the [one] having fallen on stone this will be broken; on whomever but maybe it may fall, it will grind to powder him.
| והנפל על האבן ההיא ישבר ואשר תפל עליו תשחקהו׃ |
45 And having heard the chief priests and the Pharisees the parables of Him they knew that about them He speaks.
| ויהי כשמע הכהנים הגדולים והפרושים את משליו ויבינו כי עליהם דבר׃ |
46 And seeking Him to lay hold of they feared the crowds, (because to *N(k)O*) a prophet Him they were holding.
| ויבקשו לתפשו אך יראו מפני המון העם כי לנביא חשבהו׃ |
