Matthew 2
1 Now Jesus having been born in Bethlehem of Judea in [the] days of Herod the king behold Magi from [the] east arrived in Jerusalem
Ko se je pa Jezus v Betlehemu Judejskem rodil, v dnéh Heroda kralja, glej, pridejo od vzhoda modrijani v Jeruzalem,
2 saying; Where is the [One] having been born King of the Jews? We saw for His star in the east and are come to worship Him.
Govoreč: Kje je kralj Judovski, ki se je rodil? Kajti videli smo zvezdo njegovo na vzhodu, pa smo prišli, da mu se poklonimo.
3 Having heard then King Herod he was troubled and all Jerusalem with him,
Slišavši pa to kralj Herod, prestraši se, in ves Jeruzalem ž njim.
4 And having gathered together all the chief priests and scribes of the people he was inquiring of them where the Christ is born.
In zbravši vse vélike duhovne in ljudske pismarje, povpraševal jih je, kje se ima Kristus roditi.
5 And they said to him; In Bethlehem of Judea. thus for it has been written through the prophet:
Oni mu pa rekó: V Betlehemu Judejskem; kajti tako je napisal prerok:
6 And you yourself Bethlehem land of Judah, by no means least are among the rulers of Judah; out of you for will go forth [One] leading who will shepherd the people of Mine Israel.’
"In ti, Betlehem, zemlja Judova, nikakor nisi najmanji med knezi Judovimi; kajti iz tebe bo izšel vojvoda, kteri bo pasel narod moj Izraelski."
7 Then Herod secretly having called the Magi inquired exactly of them the time of the appearing star,
Tedaj pokliče Herod skrivaj modrijane, in pozvé od njih na tanko, kedaj se je zvezda prikazala.
8 And having sent them to Bethlehem he said; Having gone do search carefully for the Child. when then You may have found [Him], do bring word back to me so that I myself also I myself also having come may worship Him.
In poslavši jih v Betlehem, reče: Pojdite in na tanko izprašajte za dete; a ko ga najdete, sporočite mi, da tudi jaz pridem in mu se poklonim.
9 And having heard the king they went away. and behold the star which they saw in the east was going before them until having arrived (it was stood *N+kO) over where was the Child.
Oni pa, zaslišavši kralja, odidejo. In glej, zvezda, ktero so bili videli na vzhodu, šla je pred njimi, dokler ni prišla in se ustavila nad mestom, kjer je bilo dete.
10 Having seen now the star they rejoiced [with] joy great exceedingly,
Ko pa ugledajo zvezdo, razveselé se z zeló velikim veseljem.
11 And having come into the house (they saw *NK+o) the Child with Mary the mother of Him, and having fallen down they worshiped Him, and having opened the treasures of them they offered to Him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.
In pridejo v hišo, in najdejo dete z Marijo materjo njegovo; in padejo, ter mu se poklonijo; in odpró zaklade svoje, ter mu prinesó darove: zlato in kadilo in miro.
12 And having been divinely warned in a dream not to return to Herod, through another route they withdrew into the country of them.
In opomenjeni v spanji, naj se ne vračajo k Herodu, odidejo po drugej poti v svoj kraj.
13 When were withdrawing then they behold an angel of [the] Lord appears in a dream to Joseph saying; Having arisen do take the Child and the mother of Him and do flee into Egypt and do remain there until when I may tell you; is about for Herod is to seek the Child to destroy Him.
Ko so pa oni odpotovali, glej, prikaže se angelj Gospodov Jožefu v spanji, govoreč: Vstani in vzemi dete in mater njegovo, pa beži v Egipet, in bodi tam, dokler ti ne povem; kajti Herod bo iskal deteta, da bi ga pogubil.
14 And having arisen he took the Child and the mother of Him by night and withdrew into Egypt,
On pa vstane in vzeme dete in mater njegovo po noči, in odide v Egipet.
15 and he was remaining there until the death of Herod, so that it may be fulfilled that having been spoken by (the *k) Lord through the prophet saying; Out of Egypt I called the Son of mine.
In bil je tam do Herodove smrti; da se izpolni, kar je rekel Gospod po preroku, kteri pravi: "Iz Egipta sem poklical sina svojega."
16 Then Herod having seen that he had been outwitted by the Magi was enraged intensely, and having sent forth he executed all the boys that [were] in Bethlehem and in all the vicinity of it from two years old and under according to the time which he had ascertained from the Magi.
Tedaj se Herod, videvši, da so ga modrijani prekanili, zeló raztogotí, ter pošlje in pomori po Betlehemu in po vseh predelih njegovih vse otročiče po dve leti in niže, po času, ki ga je na tanko pozvedel od modrijanov.
17 Then was fulfilled that having been spoken (through *N+kO) Jeremiah the prophet saying;
Tedaj se je izpolnilo, kar je rekel prerok Jeremija, govoreč:
18 A voice in Ramah was heard, (lamentation and *K) weeping and mourning great, Rachel weeping [for] the children of her, and not was willing to be comforted because no more they are.
"Glas se je slišal v Rami, mnogo jokú in veka in krika; Rahel je plakala za svojimi otroci, in ni se hotela utolažiti, ker jih ni."
19 When was dying now Herod behold an angel of [the] Lord appears in a dream to Joseph in Egypt
Ko je pa Herod umrl, glej, prikaže se v spanji angelj Gospodov Jožefu v Egiptu,
20 saying; Having arisen do take the Child and the mother of Him and do go into [the] land of Israel; they have died for those seeking the life of the Child.
Govoreč: Vstani in vzemi dete in mater njegovo, in pojdi v zemljo Izraelsko; kajti pomrli so, kteri so iskali detetove duše.
21 And having arisen he took the Child and the mother of Him and (entered *N+kO) into [the] land of Israel.
On pa vstane in vzeme dete in mater njegovo, in pride v zemljo Izraelsko.
22 Having heard now that Archelaus rules (upon *ko) Judea in place of the father of him Herod he was afraid there to go. having been divinely warned now in a dream he withdrew into the district of Galilee,
Slišavši pa, da kraljuje v Judeji Arhelaj mesto Heroda očeta svojega, zbojí se tje iti; opomenjen pa v spanji, odide v predele Galilejske.
23 and having come he dwelt in a city being named Nazareth, so that it may be fulfilled that having been spoken through the prophets that A Nazarene He will be called.
In prišedši tje, nastani se v mestu, ktero se imenuje Nazaret; da se izpolni, kar je rečeno po prerokih: "Nazarečan se bo imenoval."
