Luke 14
1 And it came to pass on the going of Him into a house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees on a Sabbath to eat bread and they themselves were watching Him.
Un jour de sabbat, Jésus était entré dans la maison d'un des principaux pharisiens pour prendre un repas, et ceux qui étaient là l'observaient.
2 And behold a man certain there was with dropsy before Him.
Or, un homme hydropique se trouva devant lui.
3 And answering Jesus spoke to the lawyers and to [the] Pharisees saying; (if *k) Is it lawful on the Sabbath (to heal *N+kO) (or not? *NO)
Jésus, prenant la parole, dit aux docteurs de la loi et aux pharisiens: Est-il permis de guérir le jour du sabbat, ou non?
4 But they were silent. And having taken hold [of him] He healed him and let [him] go.
Et ils gardèrent le silence. Alors, prenant le malade, il le guérit et à le renvoya.
5 And (answering *k) to them He said; Which of you (a son *N+KO) or an ox into a pit (will collapse, *N+kO) also surely immediately he will pull up him on day the Sabbath?
Puis il leur dit: Lequel d'entre vous, si son fils ou même son boeuf vient à tomber dans un puits, ne l'en retire aussitôt le jour du sabbat?
6 And not they were able to reply (to him *k) to these things.
Et ils ne pouvaient rien répondre à cela.
7 He was speaking then to those invited a parable remarking how the first places they were choosing out, saying to them;
Ayant remarqué que les conviés choisissaient les premières places, il leur disait aussi cette parabole:
8 When you may be invited by anyone to wedding feasts, not may recline in the first place, otherwise otherwise [one] more honorable than you may have been invited by him,
Lorsqu'on t'invitera à des noces, ne te mets pas à la première place, de peur qu'il ne se trouve parmi les conviés une personne plus considérable que toi,
9 and having come the [one] you and him having invited he will say to you; do give to this one [your] place. and then you will begin with shame the last place to take.
et que celui qui vous a invités, toi et lui, ne vienne te dire: Cède la place à celui-ci! — et qu'alors, tu n'aies la honte d'être mis à la dernière place.
10 But when you may be invited, having gone (do recline *N+kO) in the last place, so that when may come the [one] having invited you, (he will say *N+kO) to you; Friend, do come up higher. Then will be to you glory before (all *NO) those reclining [with] you.
Mais quand tu seras invité, va te mettre à la dernière place, et lorsque celui qui t'a invité viendra, il te dira: Mon ami, monte plus haut! Alors, cela sera pour toi un honneur aux yeux de tous ceux qui seront à table avec toi.
11 For everyone who is exalting himself will be humbled, and the [one] humbling himself will be exalted.
Car quiconque s'élève sera abaissé, et quiconque s'abaisse sera élevé.
12 He was saying then also to the [one] having invited Him; When you may make a dinner or a supper, not do call the friends of you nor [call] the brothers of you nor [call] the relatives of you nor [call] neighbours rich otherwise otherwise also they themselves may invite in return you and it may become recompense to you.
Il disait aussi à celui qui l'avait invité: Quand tu donnes un dîner ou un souper, n'invite pas tes amis, ni tes frères, ni tes parents, ni des voisins riches, de peur qu'ils ne t'invitent à leur tour, et ne te rendent la pareille.
13 But when a feast you may make do call [the] poor, [the] crippled, [the] lame, [the] blind.
Mais quand tu fais un festin, convie des pauvres, des estropiés, des boiteux et des aveugles.
14 and blessed you will be, because nothing they have to repay you; It will be recompensed for to you in the resurrection of the righteous.
Tu seras heureux, parce qu'ils ne peuvent pas te le rendre; et cela te sera rendu à la résurrection des justes.
15 Having heard then one of those reclining with [Him] these things he said to Him; Blessed [is he] (who *N+kO) will eat (bread *NK+o) in the kingdom of God.
Un des convives, ayant entendu ces paroles, lui dit: Heureux celui qui sera à table dans le royaume de Dieu!
16 But He said to him; A man certain (was preparing *N+kO) a supper great and invited many;
Mais Jésus lui répondit: Un homme fit un grand souper, et il y invita beaucoup de gens.
17 And he sent the servant of him at the hour of the supper to say to those invited; do come, for now ready [it] is (all things. *KO)
A l'heure du souper, il envoya son serviteur dire aux conviés: Venez; car tout est prêt.
18 And began with one [voice] all to excuse themselves. The first said to him; A field I have bought and I have need (going out *N+kO) (and *k) to see it; I beg of you, do hold me excused.
Mais tous, comme de concert, se mirent à s'excuser. Le premier lui dit: J'ai acheté une terre et je suis forcé d'aller la voir; je te prie de m'excuser.
19 And another said; Yoke of oxen I have bought five and I am going to prove them; I beg of you do hold me excused.
Un autre dit: J'ai acheté cinq paires de boeufs, et je vais les essayer; je te prie de m'excuser.
20 And another said; A wife I have married and because of this not I am able to come.
Un autre dit: Je viens de me marier; ainsi, je ne puis y aller.
21 And having come the servant (that *k) reported to the master of him these things. Then having become angry the master of the house said to the servant of him; do go out soon into the streets and lanes of the city, and the poor and crippled and blind and lame do bring in here.
Le serviteur, étant de retour, rapporta cela à son maître. Alors le père de famille, irrité, dit à son serviteur: Va vite sur les places et dans les rues de la ville, et amène ici les pauvres, les estropiés, les aveugles et les boiteux.
22 And said the servant; Sir, it has been done (as *N+kO) you did command, and still room there is.
Le serviteur vint dire: Seigneur, on a fait ce que tu as commandé, et il y a encore de la place.
23 And said the master to the servant; do go out into the highways and hedges and do compel [them] to come in so that may be filled of mine the house.
Et le maître répondit au serviteur: Va dans les chemins et le long des haies, et contrains les gens d'entrer, afin que ma maison soit remplie.
24 I say for to you that not [one] of the men of those which invited will taste my supper (many for are called few but chosen. *O)
Car, je vous le déclare, aucun de ces hommes qui avaient été conviés ne goûtera de mon souper.
25 Were going with then Him crowds great. and having turned He said to them;
Comme une grande foule accompagnait Jésus, il se tourna vers elle et lui dit:
26 If anyone comes to Me and not he hates the father (of himself *NK+o) and the mother and the wife and the children and the brothers and the sisters yes (and *N+kO) even the life his own not he is able to be My disciple.
Si quelqu'un vient à moi, et ne hait pas son père, sa mère, sa femme, ses enfants, ses frères, ses soeurs, et même sa propre vie, il ne peut être mon disciple.
27 (and *ko) Whoever not carries the cross (of himself *NK+o) and comes after Me, not is able to be My disciple.
Et quiconque ne porte pas sa croix et ne me suit pas, ne peut être mon disciple.
28 Which for of you (who *o) is desiring a tower to build not first he having sat down he counts the cost whether he has (for *N+kO) [its] completion?
En effet, quel est celui d'entre vous, qui, voulant bâtir une tour, ne commence d'abord par s'asseoir, et ne calcule la dépense, pour voir s'il a de quoi aller jusqu'au bout,
29 Thus otherwise otherwise [when] laying of it a foundation and not being able to finish all those seeing [it] may begin him to mock
— de peur qu'après avoir posé les fondements, il ne puisse achever la tour, et qu'alors tous ceux qui le verront ne se mettent à se moquer de lui,
30 saying that This man began to build and not he was able to finish.
en disant: Cet homme a commencé à bâtir, et il n'a pu achever!
31 Or what king proceeding with another king to engage in war not having sat down first (will take counsel *N+kO) whether able he is with ten thousand (to meet *N+kO) the [one] with twenty thousand coming against him?
Ou bien, quel est le roi qui, partant pour faire la guerre à un autre roi, ne commence par s'asseoir, et n'examine s'il peut, avec dix mille hommes, aller à la rencontre de celui qui vient contre lui avec vingt mille?
32 lest then except indeed still of him far off being an embassy having sent he asks for peace.
Autrement, pendant que celui-ci est encore loin, il lui envoie une ambassade pour demander la paix.
33 So therefore every one of you who not does give up all his own possessions, not is able to be My disciple.
Ainsi, quiconque d'entre vous ne renonce pas à tout ce qu'il possède, ne peut être mon disciple.
34 Good [is] (therefore *NO) the salt; if however (even *no) the salt shall become tasteless, with what will it be seasoned?
C'est une bonne chose que le sel; mais si le sel perd sa saveur, avec quoi l'assaisonnera-t-on?
35 Neither [is it] for soil nor for manure fit is it; out they cast it. The [one] having ears to hear he should hear.
Il n'est bon ni pour la terre, ni pour le fumier; on le jette dehors. Que celui qui a des oreilles pour entendre, entende!
