Judges 9
1 And he went Abimelech [the] son of Jerub-Baal Shechem towards to [the] brothers of mother his and he spoke to them and to all [the] clan of [the] house of [the] father of mother his saying.
Abimelèk, pitit gason Jewoubaal ki te rele Jedeyon tou, ale lavil Sichèm kote frè menm manman avè l' yo te rete. Li pale ak yo ansanm ak tout fanmi papa manman l' yo, li di yo:
2 Speak please in [the] ears of all [the] citizens of Shechem what? [is] good for you ¿ to rule over you seventy man all [the] sons of Jerub-Baal or? to rule over you a man one and you will remember that [am] bone your and flesh your I.
-Tanpri, ale pale ak tout grannèg ki mèt lavil Sichèm yo. Mande yo si yo ta pito gen tout swasanndis pitit gason Jewoubaal yo pase yon sèl ladan yo pou chèf? Pa bliye, se bon fanmi san nou mwen ye!
3 And they spoke [the] brothers of mother his on him in [the] ears of all [the] citizens of Shechem all the words these and it turned aside heart their after Abimelech for they said [is] brother our he.
Se konsa tout fanmi manman Abimelèk yo mache pale ak tout grannèg ki mèt lavil Sichèm yo, yo mande yo menm bagay la. Tout moun te panche pou Abimelèk, paske yo t'ap di se ti fanmi yo li ye.
4 And they gave to him seventy silver from [the] house of Baal-Berith and he hired for them Abimelech men unprincipled and undisciplined and they went after him.
Yo ba li swasanndis pyès ajan yo te pran nan tanp Baal-Berit la. Avèk lajan sa a, li lwe sèvis kèk vòryen ak kèk vakabon pou mache avè l'.
5 And he went [the] house of father his Ophrah towards and he killed brothers his [the] sons of Jerub-Baal seventy man on stone one and he was left Jotham [the] son of Jerub-Baal young for he hid himself.
L' ale lakay papa l' nan lavil Ofra, li touye tout swasanndis frè l' yo, pitit Jewoubaal yo, anwo menm wòch la. Men, dènye pitit gason Jewoubaal la, Jotam, te kache. Se konsa li pa t' mouri.
6 And they gathered all [the] citizens of Shechem and all Beth Millo and they went and they made king Abimelech to king near [the] great tree set up which [was] in Shechem.
Lè sa a, tout chèf ki nan lavil Sichèm yo ansanm ak tout moun Bèt Milo yo mete tèt yo ansanm, y' al toupre pye bwadchenn repozwa ki kanpe nan lavil Sichèm lan, yo fè Abimelèk wa.
7 And people told to Jotham and he went and he stood on [the] top of [the] mountain of Gerizim and he lifted up voice his and he called out and he said to them listen to me O citizens of Shechem so he may listen to you God.
Lè Jotam vin konn sa, l' al kanpe sou tèt mòn Garizim lan, li pran pale byen fò pou tout moun tande, li di konsa: -Nou menm grannèg ki mèt lavil Sichèm yo, koute sa m'ap di nou. Apre sa, se pou Bondye koute sa nou menm nou pral di.
8 Certainly they went the trees to anoint over them a king and they said to the olive tree (reign! *Qk) over us.
Vwala yon jou, tout pyebwa yo pran desizyon chwazi yon wa pou mete alatèt yo. Yo di pye benzoliv la: Vin gouvènen nou non!
9 And it said to them the olive tree ¿ will I cease fatness my which by me people honor gods and men and will I go to sway over the trees.
Pye benzoliv la di yo: Nou ta vle mwen sispann bay lwil ki sèvi pou fè lwanj bondye yo ak lwanj lèzòm pou m' al chèf sou tout pyebwa!
10 And they said the trees to the fig tree come you reign over us.
Y' al jwenn pye figfrans lan, yo di l': Ou menm, pye figfrans, vin gouvènen nou non!
11 And it said to them the fig tree ¿ will I cease sweetness my and fruit my good and will I go to sway over the trees.
Pye figfrans lan di yo: Nou ta vle mwen sispann bay bon ti fwi dous pou m' ale chèf sou tout pyebwa!
12 And they said the trees to the vine come you (reign *Qk) over us.
Lè sa a, yo di pye rezen an: Ou menm pye rezen, vin gouvènen nou non!
13 And it said to them the vine ¿ will I cease new wine my which makes glad gods and men and will I go to sway over the trees.
Pye rezen an di yo: Nou ta vle mwen sispann bay diven ki fè kè bondye yo ak kè lèzòm kontan pou m' al chèf sou tout pyebwa!
14 And they said all the trees to the thorn bush come you reign over us.
Lè sa a, yo di pye pikan an: Ou menm pye pikan, vin gouvènen nou non!
15 And it said the thorn bush to the trees if in truth you [are] anointing me to king over you come take refuge in shade my and if not let it go out a fire from the thorn bush and let it consume [the] cedars of Lebanon.
Pye pikan an di yo: Si nou soti tout bon vre pou nou fè m' wa alatèt nou, enben, vini non. Vin mete kò nou nan lonbraj mwen. Si nou pa fè sa, gen yon sèl dife k'ap soti nan touf pikan an, l'ap boule nou tout, ata pye sèd peyi Liban yo!
16 And now if in faithfulness and in integrity you have acted and you have made king Abimelech and if good you have done with Jerub-Baal and with house his and if according to [the] dealing of hands his you have done to him.
Koulye a, m'ap mande nou: Eske se tout bon vre epi ak tout kè nou nou mete Abimelèk wa pou gouvènen nou? Dapre nou, se yon bèl bagay nou fè la a pou Jewoubaal ak fanmi l' yo? Eske se sa Jewoubaal merite apre sa li te fè pou nou?
17 That he fought father my on you and he threw life his from in front and he delivered you from [the] hand of Midian.
Chonje jan papa m' te goumen pou nou, jan li te riske lavi l' pou nou, pou l' te ka delivre nou anba men moun Madyan yo.
18 And you you have risen up on [the] house of father my this day and you have killed sons his seventy man on stone one and you have made king Abimelech [the] son of female slave his over [the] citizens of Shechem for [is] brother your he.
Epi pou jòdi a nou leve dèyè fanmi papa m' yo. Nou touye swasanndis pitit gason l' yo sou menm wòch la, epi nou pran Abimelèk, yon pitit gason li fè ak yonn nan sèvant li yo, nou mete l' wa alatèt grannèg lavil Sichèm yo. Poukisa? Paske se fanmi nou li ye?
19 And if in faithfulness and in integrity you have acted with Jerub-Baal and with house his the day this rejoice in Abimelech so he may rejoice also he in you.
Si se tout bon vre epi ak tout kè nou nou fè Jewoubaal ak fanmi l' yo sa nou fè la a, enben, n'ap kontan avèk Abimelèk nou an. Li menm tou l'a kontan ak nou!
20 And if not let it go out a fire from Abimelech and let it consume [the] citizens of Shechem and Beth Millo and let it go out a fire from [the] citizens of Shechem and from Beth Millo and let it consume Abimelech.
Men, si se pa sa, se pou yon dife soti nan Abimelèk pou li boule dènye grannèg lavil Sichèm yo ak tout moun ki nan Bèt Milo. Se pou dife soti nan grannèg lavil Sichèm yo ak tout moun ki nan Kay-Ranble a pou l' devore Abimelèk!
21 And he fled Jotham and he ran away and he went Beer towards and he dwelt there [away] from before Abimelech brother his.
Apre sa, Jotam kouri met deyò. L' al kache lavil Beyè, paske li te pè Abimelèk, frè l' la.
22 And he ruled Abimelech over Israel three years.
Abimelèk gouvènen pèp Izrayèl la pandan twazan.
23 And he sent God a spirit evil between Abimelech and between [the] citizens of Shechem and they dealt treacherously [the] citizens of Shechem with Abimelech.
Apre sa, Bondye mete yon sèl bouyay ant Abimelèk ak grannèg Sichèm yo, li fè grannèg Sichèm yo leve dèyè Abimelèk.
24 To come [the] violence of seventy [the] sons of Jerub-Baal and blood their to put on Abimelech brother their who he killed them and on [the] citizens of Shechem who they strengthened hands his to kill brothers his.
Sa te rive konsa pou yo tout te ka peye sa yo te fè a: Abimèlèk pou masakre li te masakre swasanndis pitit gason Jewoubaal yo, grannèg lavil Sichèm yo pou ankouraje yo te ankouraje Abimelèk lè li t'ap touye frè l' yo.
25 And they set to him [the] citizens of Shechem ambushers on [the] tops of the mountains and they robbed every [one] who he passed by on them on the road and it was told to Abimelech.
Grannèg lavil Sichèm yo mete anbiskad sou tèt mòn yo ap veye Abimelèk. Moun ki nan anbiskad yo menm te rete ap vòlò tout moun ki t'ap pase sou chemen an bò kote yo. Abimelèk vin konn sa.
26 And he came Gaal [the] son of Ebed and brothers his and they passed on in Shechem and they trusted in him [the] citizens of Shechem.
Gaal, pitit gason Ebèd la, vin rive lavil Sichèm ansanm ak frè l' yo. Grannèg lavil Sichèm yo fè msye konfyans.
27 And they went out the field and they gathered grapes vineyards their and they trod [them] and they made rejoicings and they went [the] house of god their and they ate and they drank and they cursed Abimelech.
Y' al nan jaden yo, yo keyi rezen nan jaden rezen yo, yo fè diven, yo fè fèt. Y' al nan tanp bondye yo a, yo manje, yo bwè, epi yo bay Abimelèk kont madichon li.
28 And he said - Gaal [the] son of Ebed who? [is] Abimelech and who? [is] Shechem that we will serve him ¿ not [is he] [the] son of Jerub-Baal and [is] Zebul? deputy his serve [the] men of Hamor [the] father of Shechem and why? will we serve him we.
Gaal, pitit gason Ebèd la, di yo: -Kisa Abimelèk ye menm pou n'ap sèvi l' konsa? Ki kalite moun ki gen nan lavil Sichèm la menm pou y'ap sèvi Abimelèk? Ki moun li ye? An! Pitit gason Jewoubaal la! Epi se nan men l' Zeboul ap resevwa lòd? Poukisa pou n' sèvi l'? Non! Se pou moun Sichèm yo respekte Amò, zansèt yo, se moun fanmi li pou yo sèvi.
29 And who? will he give the people this in hand my and I will remove Abimelech and he said of Abimelech make numerous army your and come out!
Pa mande Bondye se mwen ki te chèf pèp sa a! Mwen ta mete Abimelèk nan wòl li! Mwen ta di l': Si ou gen yon gwo lame vre, soti non! Soti vin goumen!
30 And he heard Zebul [the] official of the city [the] words of Gaal [the] son of Ebed and it burned anger his.
Zeboul te chèf lavil Sichèm. Lè li tande tout pawòl Gaal, pitit gason Ebèd la, te di yo, li fache anpil.
31 And he sent messengers to Abimelech in treachery saying here! Gaal [the] son of Ebed and brothers his [are] coming Shechem towards and here they [are] shutting up the city on you.
Li voye mesaje an kachèt bò Abimelèk pou di l' konsa: -Gaal, pitit gason Ebèd la, rive lavil Sichèm ansanm ak frè l' yo. Y'ap moute tèt moun lavil la sou do ou pou yo pa kite ou antre.
32 And therefore arise night you and the people which [is] with you and lie in wait in the field.
Men sa ou pral fè. Leve nan mitan lannwit ansanm ak tout moun ki avè ou yo, al kache nan tout bwa a.
33 And it will be in the morning when rises the sun you will rise early and you will make a raid on the city and there! he and the people which [is] with him [are] going out against you and you will do to him just as it will find hand your.
Nan maten, lè solèy fenk leve, w'a parèt, w'a tonbe sou lavil la pou atake l'. Lè Gaal ak moun li yo va soti vin kontre ak ou, w'a kraze l' ak tout fòs ou.
34 And he arose Abimelech and all the people which [was] with him night and they lay in wait on Shechem four companies.
Se konsa, Abimelèk ak tout moun li yo leve lannwit, yo separe fè kat gwoup, y' al kache andeyò limit lavil la.
35 And he went out Gaal [the] son of Ebed and he stood [the] entrance of [the] gate of the city and he arose Abimelech and the people which [was] with him from the ambush.
Gaal, pitit gason Ebèd la, soti, l' al kanpe bò pòtay lavil la. Lè sa a, Abimelèk ak moun pa l' yo soti nan kachèt yo.
36 And he saw Gaal the people and he said to Zebul there! a people [is] coming down from [the] tops of the mountains and he said to him Zebul [the] shadow of the mountains you [are] seeing like men.
Lè Gaal wè moun yo, li di Zeboul konsa: -Gade. Men yon bann moun k'ap desann sot sou tèt mòn yo! Men, Zeboul di li: -Se pa anyen, monchè! Se lonbraj sou mòn yo ou pran pou moun!
37 And he repeated again Gaal to speak and he said there! a people [are] coming down from with [the] center of the land and a company one [is] coming from [the] direction of [the] great tree of [the] soothsayer.
Gaal di l' ankò: -Gade! Men yon bann moun k'ap desann Mòn Lonbrit latè a. Men yon lòt ankò k'ap vini sou chemen Pye Chenn moun k'ap li zetwal yo.
38 And he said to him Zebul where? then [is] mouth your O [you] who you said who? [is] Abimelech that we will serve him ¿ not [is] this the people which you rejected it go out please now and fight against him.
Lè sa a, Zeboul di l' konsa: -Kote bèl pawòl ki te nan bouch ou yo? Se pa ou ki t'ap mande ki moun Abimelèk ye konsa pou n'ap sèvi l'? Apa moun ou t'ap pase nan betiz yo? Soti non! Koulye a al goumen ak yo!
39 And he went out Gaal before [the] citizens of Shechem and he fought against Abimelech.
Gaal pran devan, li mennen grannèg lavil Sichèm yo pou y' al goumen ak Abimelèk.
40 And he pursued him Abimelech and he fled from before him and they fell [those] fatally wounded many to [the] entrance of the gate.
Men, lè Abimelèk mache sou li, Gaal pran kouri met deyò. Sòlda Abimelèk yo te blese anpil moun rive jouk devan pòtay lavil la.
41 And he dwelt Abimelech at Arumah and he drove out Zebul Gaal and brothers his from dwelling at Shechem.
Apre sa, Abimelèk tounen lavil Awouma. Zeboul menm mete Gaal deyò ak tout frè l' yo, kifè yo pa t' kapab rete lavil Sichèm ankò.
42 And it was from [the] next day and it went out the people the field and people told to Abimelech.
Nan denmen, moun lavil Sichèm yo fè lide soti al nan jaden. Yo vin di Abimelèk sa.
43 And he took the people and he divided them into three companies and he lay in wait in the field and he saw and there! the people [was] going out from the city and he rose up on them and he struck down them.
Li pran moun li yo, li separe yo fè twa gwoup epi l' al kache nan jaden yo. Lè li wè moun yo ap soti nan lavil la, li vare sou yo, li pran goumen ak yo, li touye yo.
44 And Abimelech and the companies which [were] with him they made a raid and they stood [the] entrance of [the] gate of the city and [the] two the companies they made a raid on all [those] who [were] in the field and they struck down them.
Abimelèk ak gwoup li a kouri devan, y' al rete devan pòtay lavil la, pandan de lòt gwoup yo menm t'ap atake moun ki nan jaden yo, yo t'ap touye yo.
45 And Abimelech [was] fighting against the city all the day that and he captured the city and the people which [was] in it he killed and he pulled down the city and he sowed it salt.
Abimelèk goumen ak moun lavil la tout jounen an. Li pran lavil la pou li, li touye tout moun ki te ladan l'. Apre sa, li kraze lavil la ratè, epi li simen sèl sou tout anplasman lavil la.
46 And they heard all [the] citizens of [the] tower of Shechem and they went into [the] underground chamber of [the] house of El-Berith.
Lè tout grannèg ki rete nan gwo fò won Sichèm lan vin konn sa, yo antre al kache nan fò tanp Baal-Berit la.
47 And it was told to Abimelech that they had gathered together all [the] citizens of [the] tower of Shechem.
Y' al di Abimelèk tout grannèg yo te sanble la.
48 And he went up Abimelech [the] mountain of Zalmon he and all the people which [was] with him and he took Abimelech the axes in hand his and he cut off a branch of wood and he lifted up it and he put [it] on shoulder his and he said to the people which [was] with him whatever you have seen I have done hurry do like me.
Lè sa a, Abimelèk moute sou mòn Zalmon avèk moun ki te avè l' yo. Li pran yon rach li koupe yon branch bwa, li pran l', li mete l' sou zepòl li. Epi li di tout moun ki te avè l' yo: -Nou wè sa m' fè a, kouri vit! Al fè menm bagay la tou.
49 And they cut off also all the people everyone own branch his and they went after Abimelech and they put [them] over the underground chamber and they set on fire over them the underground chamber with fire and they died also all [the] men of [the] tower of Shechem about a thousand man and woman.
Chak moun koupe yon branch bwa vre, epi yo pran mache dèyè Abimelèk. Yo anpile branch bwa yo nan pye fò a. Epi yo mete dife nan fò a ak tout moun yo ladan l'. Se konsa tout moun ki rete nan fò Sichèm lan mouri. Te gen mil (1.000) moun konsa, fanm ak gason, ki mouri.
50 And he went Abimelech to Thebez and he encamped at Thebez and he captured it.
Apre sa, Abimelèk ale lavil Tebèz, li sènen l' epi li pran l'.
51 And a tower of strength it was in [the] middle of the city and they fled there towards all the men and the women and all [the] citizens of the city and they shut [the] door behind them and they went up on [the] roof of the tower.
Te gen yon gwo fò won nan mitan lavil la. Tout moun, fanm kou gason, ansanm ak chèf yo, kouri al kache ladan l'. Yo fèmen tout pòt yo dèyè yo epi yo moute sou tèt fò a.
52 And he came Abimelech to the tower and he fought against it and he drew near to [the] entrance of the tower to burn it with fire.
Abimelèk rive jouk bò fò a. Li pwoche bò pòt la pou l' te mete dife nan fò a.
53 And she threw a woman one a mill-stone of an upper mill-stone on [the] head of Abimelech and it crushed skull his.
Men yon fanm lage yon wòl moulen sou tèt Abimelèk, li kraze zo bwa tèt li.
54 And he called quickly to the young man - [who] carried armor his and he said to him draw sword your and kill me lest people should say of me a woman she killed him and he pierced through him young man his and he died.
Abimelèk rele jenn gason ki t'ap pote zam li yo, li di l' konsa: -Rale nepe ou, touye m'. Mwen pa vle yo di se yon fanm ki touye m'. Se konsa jenn gason an pèse l' pak an pak, epi li mouri.
55 And they saw [the] man of Israel that he was dead Abimelech and they went everyone to own place his.
Lè moun pèp Izrayèl yo wè Abimelèk mouri, yo tout al lakay yo.
56 And he repaid God [the] evil of Abimelech which he had done to father his by killing seventy brothers his.
Se konsa Bondye te fè Abimelèk peye pou krim li te fè kont fanmi papa l' la, lè li te touye swasanndis frè l' yo.
57 And all [the] evil of [the] men of Shechem he repaid God on head their and it came to them [the] curse of Jotham [the] son of Jerub-Baal.
Bondye te fè moun lavil Sichèm yo soufri pou mechanste yo te fè lòt moun soufri. Se konsa, madichon Jotam, pitit gason Jewoubaal la, te wè pou yo a rive yo vre.
