James 1
1 James of God and of [the] Lord Jesus Christ a servant To the twelve tribes in the Dispersion Greeting.
Jacques, serviteur de Dieu et du Seigneur Jésus-Christ, aux douze tribus qui sont dispersées, salut!
2 All joy do esteem [it], brothers of mine, when trials you may fall into various,
Frères, regardez comme le sujet d'une parfaite joie les diverses tentations qui vous arrivent,
3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance;
Sachant que l'épreuve de votre foi produit la patience.
4 And endurance work [its] perfect should have, so that you may be perfect and complete in nothing lacking.
Mais que la patience ait une efficacité parfaite, afin que vous soyez parfaits et accomplis, ne manquant en rien.
5 If now any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask from the [One] giving God to all generously and (not *NK+o) finding fault, and it will be given to him.
Et si quelqu'un de vous manque de sagesse, qu'il la demande à Dieu, qui donne à tous libéralement, sans reproche, et elle lui sera donnée.
6 he should ask however in faith nothing doubting; The [one] for doubting he has been likened to a wave of [the] sea being blown by the wind and being tossed by the wind.
Mais qu'il demande avec foi, sans douter; car celui qui doute, est semblable au flot de la mer qui est agité par le vent et ballotté çà et là.
7 Not for should suppose the man that that he will receive anything from the Lord;
Qu'un tel homme, en effet, ne s'attende pas à recevoir quelque chose du Seigneur.
8 [He is] a man double-minded unstable in all the ways of him.
L'homme dont le cœur est partagé, est inconstant en toutes ses voies.
9 should boast however the brother of low degree in the exaltation of him,
Que le frère d'humble condition se glorifie dans son élévation,
10 he who [is] then rich in the humiliation of him because like a flower of grass he will pass away.
Et le riche dans son humiliation, car il passera comme la fleur de l'herbe.
11 Has risen for the sun with [its] burning heat and withered the grass and the flower of it has fallen and the beauty of the appearance of it has perished; Thus also the rich [man] in the midst of the pursuits of him will fade away.
En effet, le soleil s'est levé avec son ardeur, et il a séché l'herbe, et sa fleur est tombée, et la beauté de son éclat a disparu; ainsi le riche se flétrira dans ses voies.
12 Blessed [is the] man who endures trial, because approved having been he will receive the crown of life that He has promised (the Lord *K) to those loving Him.
Heureux est l'homme qui endure la tentation; car après avoir été éprouvé, il recevra la couronne de vie que le Seigneur a promise à ceux qui l'aiment.
13 No one being tempted should say that By God I am being tempted; For God unable to be tempted is by evils, tempts now He Himself no [one];
Que personne ne dise, lorsqu'il est tenté: C'est Dieu qui me tente; car Dieu ne peut être tenté par le mal, et lui-même ne tente personne.
14 A man however is tempted by the own desire being drawn away and being enticed;
Mais chacun est tenté quand il est attiré et amorcé par sa propre convoitise.
15 Then desire having conceived it gives birth to sin, and sin having become fully grown it brings forth death.
Et après que la convoitise a conçu, elle enfante le péché; et le péché étant consommé, engendre la mort.
16 Not do be misled, brothers of mine beloved;
Mes frères bien-aimés, ne vous y trompez point:
17 Every act of giving good and every gift perfect from above is coming down from the Father of lights with whom not there is variation or of shifting shadow.
Toute grâce excellente et tout don parfait viennent d'en haut, et descendent du Père des lumières, en qui il n'y a ni variation, ni ombre de changement.
18 Having willed [it] He brought forth us by [the] word of truth, for to be us firstfruits a certain of His creatures.
Il nous a engendrés selon sa volonté, par la parole de la vérité, afin que nous fussions comme les prémices de ses créatures.
19 (You should know *N+KO) brothers of mine beloved; should be (however *no) every man swift unto to hear, slow unto to speak, slow unto anger.
Ainsi, mes frères bien-aimés, que tout homme soit prompt à écouter, lent à parler, lent à se mettre en colère;
20 [the] anger for of man [the] righteousness of God not (works. *N+kO)
Car la colère de l'homme n'accomplit point la justice de Dieu.
21 Therefore having put aside all filthiness and excess of wickedness in humility do receive the implanted word which is being able to save the souls of you.
C'est pourquoi, vous dépouillant de toute souillure et des excès de la malice, recevez avec douceur la parole qui est plantée en vous, qui peut sauver vos âmes.
22 do be however doers of [the] word and not only hearers deceiving yourselves.
Mettez en pratique la parole, et ne vous bornez pas à l'écouter, en vous trompant vous-mêmes par de faux raisonnements.
23 because if anyone a hearer of [the] word is and not a doer, this one has been likened to a man looking at the face the natural of him in a mirror;
Car, si quelqu'un écoute la parole, et ne la met point en pratique, il est semblable à un homme qui regarde dans un miroir son visage naturel;
24 he has viewed for himself and has gone away and immediately he has forgotten what like he was.
Et qui, dès qu'il s'est regardé, s'en va, et oublie aussitôt quel il était.
25 The [one] however having looked intently into [the] law perfect that of freedom and having continued in [it], (this *k) not a hearer forgetful having been but a doer of [the] work — this one blessed in the work to be done by him will be.
Mais celui qui aura plongé ses regards dans la loi parfaite, celle de la liberté, et qui aura persévéré, n'étant pas un auditeur oublieux, mais pratiquant les œuvres, celui-là sera heureux dans ce qu'il aura fait.
26 If anyone seems religious to be (among you *K) not bridling [the] tongue (of him *NK+o) but deceiving [the] heart (of him, *NK+o) of this one worthless [is] the religion.
Si quelqu'un d'entre vous pense être religieux, et ne tient point sa langue en bride, mais trompe son cœur, la religion d'un tel homme est vaine.
27 Religion pure and undefiled before the God and Father this is, to visit orphans and widows in the tribulation of them, unstained oneself to keep from the world.
La religion pure et sans tache devant Dieu notre Père, c'est de visiter les orphelins et les veuves dans leur tribulation, et de se conserver pur de la souillure du monde.
