< Galatians 3 >

1 O foolish Galatians! Who you has bewitched (the truth not to obey *K) whose before eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed (among you *K) [as] crucified?
hē nirbbōdhā gālātilōkāḥ, yuṣmākaṁ madhyē kruśē hata iva yīśuḥ khrīṣṭō yuṣmākaṁ samakṣaṁ prakāśita āsīt atō yūyaṁ yathā satyaṁ vākyaṁ na gr̥hlītha tathā kēnāmuhyata?
2 This only I wish to learn from you; by works of [the] Law the Spirit did you receive or by hearing of faith?
ahaṁ yuṣmattaḥ kathāmēkāṁ jijñāsē yūyam ātmānaṁ kēnālabhadhvaṁ? vyavasthāpālanēna kiṁ vā viśvāsavākyasya śravaṇēna?
3 So foolish are you? Having begun in [the] Spirit now in [the] flesh are you being perfected?
yūyaṁ kim īdr̥g abōdhā yad ātmanā karmmārabhya śarīrēṇa tat sādhayituṁ yatadhvē?
4 So many things did you suffer in vain? if indeed even in vain!
tarhi yuṣmākaṁ gurutarō duḥkhabhōgaḥ kiṁ niṣphalō bhaviṣyati? kuphalayuktō vā kiṁ bhaviṣyati?
5 The [One] therefore supplying to you the Spirit and working miracles among you, [is it] out of works of the Law or out of hearing of faith?
yō yuṣmabhyam ātmānaṁ dattavān yuṣmanmadhya āścaryyāṇi karmmāṇi ca sādhitavān sa kiṁ vyavasthāpālanēna viśvāsavākyasya śravaṇēna vā tat kr̥tavān?
6 Even as Abraham believed in God and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.
likhitamāstē, ibrāhīma īśvarē vyaśvasīt sa ca viśvāsastasmai puṇyārthaṁ gaṇitō babhūva,
7 do know then that those of faith these sons are of Abraham.
atō yē viśvāsāśritāsta ēvēbrāhīmaḥ santānā iti yuṣmābhi rjñāyatāṁ|
8 Having foreseen then the Scripture that by faith justifies the Gentiles God, foretold the gospel to Abraham that Will be blessed in you all the nations.
īśvarō bhinnajātīyān viśvāsēna sapuṇyīkariṣyatīti pūrvvaṁ jñātvā śāstradātā pūrvvam ibrāhīmaṁ susaṁvādaṁ śrāvayana jagāda, tvattō bhinnajātīyāḥ sarvva āśiṣaṁ prāpsyantīti|
9 So then those of faith are blessed along with the believing Abraham.
atō yē viśvāsāśritāstē viśvāsinēbrāhīmā sārddham āśiṣaṁ labhantē|
10 As many as for of works of [the] Law are, under a curse are; it has been written for (that *no) Cursed [is] everyone who not does continue (in *k) all things which written in the book of the Law to do them.
yāvantō lōkā vyavasthāyāḥ karmmaṇyāśrayanti tē sarvvē śāpādhīnā bhavanti yatō likhitamāstē, yathā, "yaḥ kaścid ētasya vyavasthāgranthasya sarvvavākyāni niścidraṁ na pālayati sa śapta iti|"
11 for now by [the] law no [one] is justified before God [is] evident, because The righteous by faith will live;
īśvarasya sākṣāt kō'pi vyavasthayā sapuṇyō na bhavati tada vyaktaṁ yataḥ "puṇyavān mānavō viśvāsēna jīviṣyatīti" śāstrīyaṁ vacaḥ|
12 And the Law not is of faith rather The [one] having done these things (man *K) will live by them.
vyavasthā tu viśvāsasambandhinī na bhavati kintvētāni yaḥ pālayiṣyati sa ēva tai rjīviṣyatītiniyamasambandhinī|
13 Christ us redeemed from the curse of the Law having become for us a curse; (since *no) it has been written (for: *k) Cursed [is] everyone who is hanging on a tree;
khrīṣṭō'smān parikrīya vyavasthāyāḥ śāpāt mōcitavān yatō'smākaṁ vinimayēna sa svayaṁ śāpāspadamabhavat tadadhi likhitamāstē, yathā, "yaḥ kaścit tarāvullambyatē sō'bhiśapta iti|"
14 so that to the Gentiles the blessing of Abraham may become in Christ Jesus so that the promise of the Spirit we may receive through faith.
tasmād khrīṣṭēna yīśunēvrāhīma āśī rbhinnajātīyalōkēṣu varttatē tēna vayaṁ pratijñātam ātmānaṁ viśvāsēna labdhuṁ śaknumaḥ|
15 Brothers, according to man I am speaking. Even of man ratified a covenant no [one] sets aside or adds thereto.
hē bhrātr̥gaṇa mānuṣāṇāṁ rītyanusārēṇāhaṁ kathayāmi kēnacit mānavēna yō niyamō niracāyi tasya vikr̥ti rvr̥ddhi rvā kēnāpi na kriyatē|
16 And to Abraham were spoken the promises and to the seed of him. Not it does say; and to seeds as of many but as of One; and to the seed of you who is Christ.
parantvibrāhīmē tasya santānāya ca pratijñāḥ prati śuśruvirē tatra santānaśabdaṁ bahuvacanāntam abhūtvā tava santānāyētyēkavacanāntaṁ babhūva sa ca santānaḥ khrīṣṭa ēva|
17 This now I say: [The] covenant confirmed beforehand by God (into Christ *K) afterward four hundred and thirty years having come [the] law not does annul so as to nullify the promise.
ataēvāhaṁ vadāmi, īśvarēṇa yō niyamaḥ purā khrīṣṭamadhi niracāyi tataḥ paraṁ triṁśadadhikacatuḥśatavatsarēṣu gatēṣu sthāpitā vyavasthā taṁ niyamaṁ nirarthakīkr̥tya tadīyapratijñā lōptuṁ na śaknōti|
18 If for by [the] Law [is] the inheritance no longer no longer by a promise; but to Abraham through a promise has granted [it] God.
yasmāt sampadadhikārō yadi vyavasthayā bhavati tarhi pratijñayā na bhavati kintvīśvaraḥ pratijñayā tadadhikāritvam ibrāhīmē 'dadāt|
19 Why then the Law? transgressions Because of it was added until (that *NK+o) may have come the seed to whom promise has been made, having been ordained through angels in [the] hand of a mediator.
tarhi vyavasthā kimbhūtā? pratijñā yasmai pratiśrutā tasya santānasyāgamanaṁ yāvad vyabhicāranivāraṇārthaṁ vyavasthāpi dattā, sā ca dūtairājñāpitā madhyasthasya karē samarpitā ca|
20 However a mediator of one [person] not is, but God one is.
naikasya madhyasthō vidyatē kintvīśvara ēka ēva|
21 The therefore Law [is] contrary to the promises of God? Never would it be! If for was given a law which is being able to impart life, indeed (from [the] law *NK+o) then would was emerging righteousness;
tarhi vyavasthā kim īśvarasya pratijñānāṁ viruddhā? tanna bhavatu| yasmād yadi sā vyavasthā jīvanadānēsamarthābhaviṣyat tarhi vyavasthayaiva puṇyalābhō'bhaviṣyat|
22 but imprisoned the Scripture [things] all under sin, so that the promise by faith from Jesus Christ may be given to those believing.
kintu yīśukhrīṣṭē yō viśvāsastatsambandhiyāḥ pratijñāyāḥ phalaṁ yad viśvāsilōkēbhyō dīyatē tadarthaṁ śāstradātā sarvvān pāpādhīnān gaṇayati|
23 Before now coming faith under [the] Law we were held in custody (being locked up *N+kO) until which is being soon faith to be revealed.
ataēva viśvāsasyānāgatasamayē vayaṁ vyavasthādhīnāḥ santō viśvāsasyōdayaṁ yāvad ruddhā ivārakṣyāmahē|
24 so that the Law trainer of us has become unto Christ, so that by faith we may be justified;
itthaṁ vayaṁ yad viśvāsēna sapuṇyībhavāmastadarthaṁ khrīṣṭasya samīpam asmān nētuṁ vyavasthāgrathō'smākaṁ vinētā babhūva|
25 When was coming now the faith no longer no longer under a trainer we are.
kintvadhunāgatē viśvāsē vayaṁ tasya vinēturanadhīnā abhavāma|
26 all for sons of God you are through faith in Christ Jesus;
khrīṣṭē yīśau viśvasanāt sarvvē yūyam īśvarasya santānā jātāḥ|
27 As many as for into Christ you were baptized, Christ you have put on.
yūyaṁ yāvantō lōkāḥ khrīṣṭē majjitā abhavata sarvvē khrīṣṭaṁ parihitavantaḥ|
28 Neither there is Jew nor Greek, neither there is slave nor free, neither there is male and female; (all *NK+o) for you yourselves one are in Christ Jesus.
atō yuṣmanmadhyē yihūdiyūnāninō rdāsasvatantrayō ryōṣāpuruṣayōśca kō'pi viśēṣō nāsti; sarvvē yūyaṁ khrīṣṭē yīśāvēka ēva|
29 If now you yourselves [are] Christ’s, then Abraham’s seed you are, (and *k) according to [the] promise heirs.
kiñca yūyaṁ yadi khrīṣṭasya bhavatha tarhi sutarām ibrāhīmaḥ santānāḥ pratijñayā sampadadhikāriṇaścādhvē|
