Ezekiel 31
1 And it was in one plus ten year in the third [month] on [day] one of the month it came [the] word of Yahweh to me saying.
La onzième année, le premier jour du troisième mois, la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces termes:
2 O son of humankind say to Pharaoh [the] king of Egypt and to multitude his whom? are you like in greatness your.
Fils de l'homme, dis à Pharaon, roi d'Égypte, et à sa multitude: A qui ressembles-tu dans ta grandeur?
3 There! Assyria [was] a cedar in Lebanon beautiful of branch[es] and forest giving shade and tall of height and between branches it was treetop its.
Voici, l'Assyrie était un cèdre du Liban aux belles branches, au feuillage touffu, haut de taille et élevant sa cime jusqu'aux nues.
4 Waters they made grow it [the] deep it raised up it rivers its going around planting place its and channels its it sent out to all [the] trees of the field.
Les eaux l'avaient fait croître, l'abîme l'avait fait monter fort haut, en faisant couler ses fleuves autour du lieu où il était planté, et en envoyant ses canaux à tous les arbres des champs.
5 There-fore it was tall height its more than all [the] trees of the field and they became great boughs its and they became long (branches its *QK) from waters many when sent out it.
C'est pourquoi sa hauteur dépassait tous les arbres des champs; ses branches avaient multiplié, et ses rameaux s'étendaient, grâce à l'abondance des eaux qui le faisaient croître.
6 In boughs its they made nests every bird of the heavens and under branches its they gave birth every animal of the field and in shade its they dwelt all nations great.
Tous les oiseaux des cieux nichaient dans ses branches, et toutes les bêtes des champs faisaient leurs petits sous ses rameaux, et de nombreuses nations habitaient toutes à son ombre.
7 And it was beautiful in greatness its in [the] length of branches its for it was root its to waters many.
Il était beau dans sa grandeur et par l'étendue de ses branches; car ses racines plongeaient dans des eaux abondantes.
8 Cedars not they eclipsed it in [the] garden of God fir trees not they were like boughs its and plane trees not they were like branches its every tree in [the] garden of God not it was like it in beauty its.
Les cèdres du jardin de Dieu ne lui ôtaient rien de son lustre; les cyprès n'égalaient point ses branches, et les platanes n'étaient point semblables à ses rameaux; aucun arbre du jardin de Dieu n'égalait sa beauté.
9 Beautiful I made it in [the] abundance of branches its and they envied it all [the] trees of Eden which [were] in [the] garden of God.
Je l'avais rendu beau par la multitude de ses branches, et tous les arbres d'Éden, qui étaient au jardin de Dieu, lui portaient envie.
10 Therefore thus he says [the] Lord Yahweh because that you were tall in height and it set treetop its to between branches and it was lifted up heart its in height its.
C'est pourquoi, ainsi a dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Parce qu'il s'est élevé en hauteur, qu'il a produit une cime touffue, et que son cœur s'est enorgueilli de sa grandeur,
11 And I will give it in [the] hand of a leader of nations certainly he will do to it according to wickedness its I drove out it.
Je l'ai livré entre les mains du puissant des nations, qui les traitera comme il fallait: je l'ai chassé à cause de ses crimes.
12 And they cut down it strangers ruthless [ones] of nations and they abandoned it to the mountains and in all [the] valleys they fell branches its and they were broken branches its in all [the] ravines of the land and they went down from shade its all [the] peoples of the earth and they abandoned it.
Des étrangers, les plus terribles d'entre les nations, l'ont coupé et rejeté; ses branches sont tombées sur les montagnes et dans toutes les vallées, et ses rameaux se sont brisés dans tous les ravins du pays, et tous les peuples de la terre se sont retirés de dessous son ombre et l'ont abandonné.
13 On fallen trunk its they dwelt every bird of the heavens and to branches its they came every animal of the field.
Tous les oiseaux des cieux se tiennent sur ses ruines, et toutes les bêtes des champs ont fait leur gîte de ses rameaux,
14 So that that not they may be lifted up in height their any trees of water and not they may set treetop their to between branches and not they may stand leaders their by height their any drinkers of water for all of them they have been given to death to [the] earth lowest in among [the] children of humankind to [those who] go down of [the] pit.
Afin qu'aucun des arbres arrosés d'eau ne garde plus sa hauteur, et ne lance plus sa cime touffue, afin que tous ceux qui sont arrosés d'eau ne gardent plus leur élévation; car tous sont livrés à la mort dans les profondeurs de la terre, parmi les enfants des hommes, avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.
15 Thus he says [the] Lord Yahweh on [the] day went down it Sheol towards I caused mourning I covered over it [the] deep and I withheld rivers its and they were restrained waters many and I made mourn on it Lebanon and all [the] trees of the field on it [were] wilted. (Sheol h7585)
Ainsi a dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Au jour qu'il descendit dans le Sépulcre, j'ai fait mener deuil; à cause de lui, je couvris l'abîme, et empêchai ses fleuves de couler, et les grandes eaux furent retenues; j'ai mis le Liban en deuil à cause de lui, et tous les arbres des champs en défaillirent. 16 From [the] sound of downfall its I caused to tremble nations when brought down I it Sheol towards with [those who] go down of [the] pit and they were comforted in [the] earth lowest all [the] trees of Eden [the] choicest and [the] good of Lebanon all drinkers of water. (Sheol h7585)
J'ébranlai les nations par le bruit de sa chute, quand je l'ai précipité dans le Sépulcre, avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse. Tous les arbres d'Éden, l'élite et le meilleur du Liban, tous arrosés d'eau, furent consolés dans les profondeurs de la terre. (Sheol h7585)
17 Also they with it they went down Sheol towards to [those] slain of a sword and arm its [which] they dwelt in shade its in among [the] nations. (Sheol h7585)
Eux aussi sont descendus avec lui dans le Sépulcre, vers ceux que l'épée blessa à mort; ils étaient son bras, et habitaient à son ombre au milieu des nations. (Sheol h7585)
18 Whom? are you like thus in splendor and in greatness among [the] trees of Eden and you will be brought down with [the] trees of Eden to [the] earth lowest in among uncircumcised [men] you will lie with [those] slain of a sword that [is] Pharaoh and all (multitude his *Qk) [the] utterance of [the] Lord Yahweh.
A qui ressembles-tu ainsi, en gloire et en grandeur, parmi les arbres d'Éden? Tu seras jeté bas avec les arbres d'Éden dans les profondeurs de la terre; tu seras couché au milieu des incirconcis, avec ceux que l'épée a blessés à mort. Tel sera Pharaon et toute sa multitude, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.
