Ephesians 2
1 And you being dead in the trespasses and in the sins (of you, *no)
Vous étiez morts par vos offenses et par vos péchés,
2 in which once you walked according to the age world of this, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit now working in the sons of disobedience, (aiōn g165)
dans lesquels vous marchiez autrefois, selon le train de ce monde, selon le prince de la puissance de l’air, de l’esprit qui agit maintenant dans les fils de la rébellion. (aiōn g165)
3 among whom also we ourselves all lived once in the desires of the flesh of us doing the things willed of the flesh and of [its] thoughts and (we were *N+kO) children by nature of wrath as even the rest.
Nous tous aussi, nous étions de leur nombre, et nous vivions autrefois selon les convoitises de notre chair, accomplissant les volontés de la chair et de nos pensées, et nous étions par nature des enfants de colère, comme les autres…
4 But God rich being in mercy because of the great love of Him with which He loved us,
Mais Dieu, qui est riche en miséricorde, à cause du grand amour dont il nous a aimés,
5 even being we dead in trespasses made [us] alive with Christ — by grace you are saved.
nous qui étions morts par nos offenses, nous a rendus à la vie avec Christ (c’est par grâce que vous êtes sauvés);
6 and He raised [us] up together and He seated [us] together in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
il nous a ressuscités ensemble, et nous a fait asseoir ensemble dans les lieux célestes, en Jésus-Christ,
7 in order that He may show in the ages that [are] coming (the surpassing riches *N+kO) of the grace of Him in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (aiōn g165)
afin de montrer dans les siècles à venir l’infinie richesse de sa grâce par sa bonté envers nous en Jésus-Christ. (aiōn g165)
8 For by grace you are saved through faith, and this not of yourselves, [it is] of God the gift,
Car c’est par la grâce que vous êtes sauvés, par le moyen de la foi. Et cela ne vient pas de vous, c’est le don de Dieu.
9 not as a result of works, so that not anyone may boast.
Ce n’est point par les œuvres, afin que personne ne se glorifie.
10 Of Him for we are workmanship having been created in Christ Jesus for works good which prepared beforehand God, that in them we may walk.
Car nous sommes son ouvrage, ayant été créés en Jésus-Christ pour de bonnes œuvres, que Dieu a préparées d’avance, afin que nous les pratiquions.
11 Therefore do remember that formerly you yourselves the Gentiles in [the] flesh, the ones being named [the] uncircumcision by which is being named [the] circumcision in [the] flesh made by hands —
C’est pourquoi, vous autrefois païens dans la chair, appelés incirconcis par ceux qu’on appelle circoncis et qui le sont en la chair par la main de l’homme,
12 for you were (in *k) time that [very] separate from Christ alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of the promise, hope not having and without God in the world;
souvenez-vous que vous étiez en ce temps-là sans Christ, privés du droit de cité en Israël, étrangers aux alliances de la promesse, sans espérance et sans Dieu dans le monde.
13 Now however in Christ Jesus you yourselves the [ones] once being far off have become near by the blood of Christ.
Mais maintenant, en Jésus-Christ, vous qui étiez jadis éloignés, vous avez été rapprochés par le sang de Christ.
14 he himself for is the peace of us, which having made both one and the barrier of the fence having broken down,
Car il est notre paix, lui qui des deux n’en a fait qu’un, et qui a renversé le mur de séparation, l’inimitié,
15 the hostility in the flesh of Him, the law of commandments in ordinances having annulled, so that the two He may create in (Him *N+kO) into one new man making peace,
ayant anéanti par sa chair la loi des ordonnances dans ses prescriptions, afin de créer en lui-même avec les deux un seul homme nouveau, en établissant la paix,
16 and He may reconcile both in one body to God through the cross having slain the hostility by it;
et de les réconcilier, l’un et l’autre en un seul corps, avec Dieu par la croix, en détruisant par elle l’inimitié.
17 And having come He evangelised peace to you the [ones] far off and (peace *no) to those [who are] near,
Il est venu annoncer la paix à vous qui étiez loin, et la paix à ceux qui étaient près;
18 For through Him we have the access both by one Spirit to the Father.
car par lui nous avons les uns et les autres accès auprès du Père, dans un même Esprit.
19 So then no longer no longer are you strangers and aliens, but (are *no) fellow citizens of the saints and of the household of God
Ainsi donc, vous n’êtes plus des étrangers, ni des gens du dehors; mais vous êtes concitoyens des saints, gens de la maison de Dieu.
20 having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, being [the] cornerstone Himself Christ Jesus
Vous avez été édifiés sur le fondement des apôtres et des prophètes, Jésus-Christ lui-même étant la pierre angulaire.
21 in whom [the] whole building being fitted together is increasing into a temple holy in [the] Lord,
En lui tout l’édifice, bien coordonné, s’élève pour être un temple saint dans le Seigneur.
22 in whom also you yourselves are being built together for a habitation of God in [the] Spirit.
En lui vous êtes aussi édifiés pour être une habitation de Dieu en Esprit.
