Acts 13
1 There were now (some *k) in Antioch in what is [the] church prophets and teachers, both Barnabas and Simeon who is being called Niger and Lucius the Cyrenian, Manaen also — with Herod the tetrarch brought up — and Saul.
Er waren nu in de Kerk te Antiochië de volgende profeten en leraars: Bárnabas; Simon, bijgenaamd Niger; Lúcius, de Cyreneër; Mánahen, de zoogbroeder van den viervorst Herodes, en Saul.
2 As were ministering now they to the Lord and fasting said the Spirit Holy; do set apart then to Me (both *k) Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.
Terwijl ze nu eens de dienst des Heren vierden en vastten, zeide de Heilige Geest: Zondert mij Saul en Bárnabas af voor het werk, waartoe Ik ze geroepen heb.
3 Then having fasted and having prayed and having laid the hands on them they sent [them] off.
Toen legde men hun, na vasten en bidden, de handen op, en zond hen uit.
4 (They themselves *N+kO) indeed therefore having been sent forth by of the Holy (the *k) Spirit went down to Seleucia, From there (then *NK+o) they sailed to Cyprus.
Nadat zij dus door den Heiligen Geest waren uitgezonden, gingen ze naar Seléucië, en zeilden vandaar naar Cyprus.
5 And having come into Salamis they were proclaiming the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews; They had now also John [as] a helper.
En te Sálamis gekomen, preekten ze het woord Gods in de synagogen der Joden. Ze hadden ook Johannes als medehelper.
6 Having passed through now (all *NO) the island as far as Paphos they found (a man — *NO) a certain magician a false prophet Jewish — whose name (of Bar-Jesus, *N+kO)
Toen ze het hele eiland hadden afgereisd tot Pafos toe, troffen ze daar een jood aan, een tovenaar en vals profeet, Bar-Jesus genaamd;
7 who was with the proconsul Sergius Paulus, man an intelligent. He having called to [him] Barnabas and Saul desired to hear the word of God.
hij hoorde tot het gevolg van den proconsul Sérgius Paulus, een verstandig man. Deze ontbood Bárnabas en Saul, en gaf het verlangen te kennen, het woord Gods te vernemen.
8 Was opposing however to them Elymas the magician — thus for means the name of him — seeking to turn away the proconsul from the faith.
Maar Élumas de tovenaar, (want zo is de vertaling van zijn naam) werkte hen tegen, en zocht den proconsul van het geloof afkerig te maken.
9 Saul then also [called] Paul having been filled [the] Spirit Holy (and *k) having looked intently upon him
Maar Saul, die ook Paulus heet, vervuld van den Heiligen Geest, keek hem strak in het gezicht,
10 said; O full of all deceit and all craft, son of [the] devil, enemy of all righteousness, not will you cease perverting the ways (of the *no) Lord upright?
en sprak: Gij, duivelskind, vol van allerlei list en bedrog, vijand van alle gerechtigheid, zult ge dan nooit ophouden de rechte wegen des Heren krom te maken?
11 And now behold [the] hand of the Lord [is] upon you, and you will be blind not seeing the sun during a season. Immediately (then descended *N+kO) upon him mist and darkness, and going about he was seeking one to lead by hand.
Zie, thans is de hand des Heren op u; ge zult blind zijn, en een tijd lang de zon niet meer zien. Op hetzelfde ogenblik viel nevel en duisternis op hem neer; en rondtastende zocht hij naar iemand, om hem bij de hand te leiden.
12 Then having seen the proconsul that having happened he believed being astonished at the teaching of the Lord.
Bij het zien van dat voorval, en diep getroffen ook door de leer des Heren, werd de proconsul gelovig.
13 Having sailed then from Paphos [with] those around [him] Paul came to Perga of Pamphylia. John however having departed from them he returned to Jerusalem.
Nu voeren Paulus en zijn gezellen van Pafos weg, en kwamen te Perge in Pamfúlië aan. Daar scheidde Johannes zich van hen af, en keerde naar Jerusalem terug
14 They themselves now having passed through from Perga came to Antioch (Pisidia, *N+kO) and (having gone *NK+o) into the synagogue on the day of the Sabbaths they sat down.
Zelf trokken ze van Perge uit verder het land in, en kwamen te Antiochië in Pisidië aan. Op de sabbat gingen ze de synagoge binnen, en namen daar plaats.
15 After then the reading of the law and of the Prophets sent the rulers of the synagogue to them saying; Men brothers, if any there is among you a word of exhortation toward the people, do speak.
Na de voorlezing van de wet en de profeten lieten de oversten der synagoge hun vragen: Mannen, broeders, zo gij iets te zeggen hebt ter opwekking van het volk, neemt dan het woord.
16 Having risen up then Paul and having made a sign with the hand he said; Men Israelites and you who [are] fearing God, do listen.
Toen stond Paulus op, wenkte met de hand om stilte, en sprak Mannen van Israël en gij godvrezenden hoort:
17 The God of the people this of Israel chose the fathers of us and the people exalted in the sojourn in [the] land (of Egypt *N+kO) and with arm uplifted brought them out of it;
De God van dit volk van Israël heeft onze vaderen uitverkoren, het volk groot gemaakt tijdens hun ballingschap in het land van Egypte, en hen weggevoerd met machtige arm.
18 and of about forty years for a period He endured the ways of them in the wilderness,
Toen heeft Hij veertig jaar ongeveer in de woestijn hen vertroeteld.
19 and having destroyed nations seven in [the] land of Canaan He gave as an inheritance (to them *k) the land of them —
Hij heeft zeven volkeren in het land van Kánaän verdelgd, en hun het land als erfdeel geschonken.
20 during years four hundred and fifty; And after these things He gave [them] judges until Samuel the prophet;
Daarna gaf Hij hun ongeveer vierhonderdvijftig jaar lang rechters tot aan Sámuël, den profeet.
21 Then Then they asked for a king, and gave to them God Saul son of Kish, a man of [the] tribe of Benjamin, years forty;
Toen vroegen ze een koning, en God gaf hun Saul, den zoon van Kis, een man uit Benjamins stam, veertig jaar lang.
22 And having removed him He raised up David to them as king, to whom also He said having carried witness: I have found David the [son of] Jesse a man according to the heart of Mine, who will do all the will of Mine.
Nadat Hij hem had verworpen, verwekte Hij hun David tot koning, van wien Hij heeft getuigd en gezegd "Ik heb David, den zoon van Jesse, gevonden, een man naar mijn hart, die volbrengen zal al wat Ik wil."
23 Of this [man] the God of the seed according to promise (has brought *N+KO) to Israel ([the] Savior *NK+O) Jesus —
Uit zijn zaad heeft God, naar zijn belofte, voor Israël Jesus als Verlosser doen opstaan.
24 When was proclaiming John before [the] face of the coming of Him a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
Reeds vóór Hij optrad, had Johannes aan het ganse volk van Israël een doopsel van boete gepreekt;
25 While then was fulfilling John the course he was saying; (whom *N+kO) me myself do you suppose to be? Not am [he] I myself; but behold He comes after me myself of whom not I am worthy the sandal of the feet to untie.
en toen zijn levenstaak ten einde liep, heeft Johannes gezegd "Hij, voor wien gij mij houdt, ben ik niet; maar zie, na mij komt er Een, wiens schoeisel ik niet waardig ben te ontbinden".
26 Men brothers, sons of [the] family of Abraham and you who [are] among you fearing God, (to us *N+KO) the message of the salvation this (was sent out. *N+kO)
Mannen broeders, zonen uit Abrahams geslacht en de godvrezenden onder u: tot ons is dit woord van verlossing gezonden.
27 Those for dwelling in Jerusalem and the rulers of them Him not having known and the voices of the prophets that on every Sabbath are being read, having condemned [Him] they fulfilled [them];
Zeker, de bewoners van Jerusalem en hun hoofden hebben Hem miskend; en door hun vonnis hebben ze in vervulling doen gaan, wat de profeten hebben voorspeld, en wat iedere sabbat wordt voorgelezen.
28 And no cause of death having found they begged Pilate to execute him.
Ofschoon ze niets hadden gevonden wat de doodstraf verdiende, hebben ze toch Pilatus gevraagd, Hem te doden;
29 When then they had finished (all *N+kO) the [things] about Him written, having taken [Him] down from the tree they put [Him] in a tomb.
en toen ze alles hadden voltrokken, wat over Hem geschreven staat, heeft men Hem van het kruis genomen en neergelegd in een graf.
30 But God raised Him out from [the] dead,
Maar God heeft Hem opgewekt uit de doden. En dagen lang is Hij verschenen aan hen,
31 who appeared for days many to those having come up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who (now *NO) are witnesses of Him to the people.
die met Hem van Galilea naar Jerusalem waren gegaan, en die nu zijn getuigen zijn bij het volk.
32 And we ourselves to you evangelise the to the fathers promise having been made,
En wij. wij verkondigen u de Belofte. aan onze vaderen gedaan.
33 that this God has fulfilled to the children of them (to us *NK+O) having raised up Jesus, as also in the psalm it has been written in the (second *NK+O) Son of Mine are You yourself, I myself today have begotten you.’
Want God heeft ze voor ons, hun kinderen vervuld door Jesus te verwekken. zoals dat ook in de tweede Psalm staat geschreven "Gij zijt mijn Zoon; Ik heb U heden verwekt."
34 for then He raised Him out from [the] dead no more being about to return to decay, thus He has spoken that I will give to you the holy [blessings] of David the sure [blessings].’
En dat Hij Hem uit de doden heeft opgewekt, en Hij niet meer tot bederf terugkeren zou, heeft Hij aldus verklaard "Ik zal u de heilige gunsten schenken, aan David verzekerd."
35 (therefore *N+kO) also in another He says: Not You will allow the Holy One of you to see decay.’
Daarom juist zegt Hij ook op een andere plaats "Gij laat uw Heilige het bederf niet aanschouwen."
36 David indeed for in his own generation having served the of God purpose he fell asleep and he was added to the fathers of him and saw decay;
Welnu, David is ontslapen, na bij zijn leven Gods wil te hebben volbracht; hij is bij zijn vaderen verzameld, en heeft het bederf gezien.
37 The [One] however God raised up not did see decay.
Maar Hij, dien God deed verrijzen. heeft geen bederf gezien.
38 Known therefore it should be to you, men brothers, that through this One to you forgiveness of sins is proclaimed;
Weet dus, mannen broeders, dat door Hem u vergiffenis van zonden wordt aangekondigd; en dat van alles, waarvan gij door de Wet van Moses niet gerechtvaardigd kondt worden,
39 And from all things from which not you were able in (the *k) law of Moses to be justified, in Him everyone who is believing is justified.
een ieder, die gelooft, gerechtvaardigd wordt door Hem.
40 do take heed therefore lest may come about (upon you *K) that said in the prophets:
Zorgt er dus voor, dat u niet overkomt, wat geschreven staat bij de profeten
41 Behold! you scoffers, and do wonder and do perish for a work am working I myself in the days of you, a work (that *N+kO) certainly not you may believe even if one shall declare it to you.’
"Hooghartigen, ziet toe, staat verbaasd en verdwijnt; Want Ik ga een werk in uw dagen verrichten: Een werk, dat gij niet zoudt geloven, Wanneer men het u vertelt."
42 When are departing then (they *no) (from the *k) (synagogue *K) (of the *k) (Jews *K) were begging (the gentiles *K) on the next Sabbath to be spoken to them declarations these.
Toen ze weggingen, verzocht men hun, om de volgende sabbat hetzelfde onderwerp met hen te behandelen.
43 When was releasing then the synagogue followed many of the Jews and of the worshipping converts after Paul and after Barnabas, who speaking to them were persuading them (to continue *N+kO) in the grace of God.
En bij het uitgaan van de synagoge gingen vele Joden en godvrezende proselieten met Paulus en Bárnabas mee. Dezen onderhielden zich met hen, en vermaanden ze, om in de genade Gods te volharden.
44 On the (now *NK+o) coming Sabbath almost all the city was gathered together to hear the word (of the Lord. *N+KO)
De volgende sabbat kwam bijna de hele stad te zamen, om het woord Gods te horen.
45 Having seen however the Jews the crowds they were filled with jealousy and were contradicting the [things] by Paul (spoken *N+kO) (denying and *K) denigrating [him].
Maar toen de Joden die scharen zagen, werden ze van afgunst vervuld, en bestreden de woorden van Paulus met schelden.
46 Having spoken boldly (also *N+kO) Paul and Barnabas said; To you it was necessary first to be spoken the word of God; but since (now *ko) you thrust away it and not worthy you judge yourselves of eternal life, behold we are turning to the Gentiles. (aiōnios g166)
Toen verklaarden Paulus en Bárnabas met grote beslistheid: Aan u moest het eerst Gods woord worden verkondigd; maar nu ge het verwerpt, en uzelf het eeuwige leven niet waardig oordeelt, zie. nu wenden we ons tot de heidenen. (aiōnios g166)
47 Thus for has commanded us the Lord: I have set you for a light of [the] Gentiles to be you for salvation until [the] uttermost part of the earth.’
Want zó heeft de Heer ons bevolen "Ik heb u gesteld tot een licht voor de heidenen, Opdat gij tot heil wordt tot aan de grenzen der aarde."
48 Hearing [it] then the Gentiles (were rejoicing *NK+o) and they were glorifying the word of the (Lord *NK+O) and they believed as many as were appointed to life eternal. (aiōnios g166)
Toen de heidenen dit hoorden, verheugden ze zich, en prezen het woord des Heren; en allen die voorbeschikt waren ten eeuwigen leven, werden gelovig. (aiōnios g166)
49 Was carried then the word of the Lord through all the region.
En het woord des Heren verbreidde zich door heel die streek.
50 The but Jews incited the worshipping women (and *k) [those] prominent and the principals of the city and they stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas and expelled them from the district of them.
Maar de Joden ruiden de aanzienlijke vrouwen der godvrezenden en de voornaamste burgers der stad op; ze verwekten een vervolging tegen Paulus en Bárnabas, en verdreven ze uit hun gebied.
51 But having shaken off the dust of the feet (of them *k) against them they went to Iconium.
Dezen schudden het stof van hun voeten tegen hen af, en gingen naar Ikónium.
52 (and *N+kO) the disciples were filled with joy and [the] Spirit Holy.
De leerlingen echter bleven vervuld van blijdschap en van den Heiligen Geest.
