2 Timothy 1
1 Paul an apostle of Christ Jesus through [the] will of God according to [the] promise of life in Christ Jesus
Paul, apôtre de Jésus-Christ, par la volonté de Dieu, pour annoncer la promesse de la vie qui est en Jésus-Christ,
2 To Timothy [my] beloved child: Grace, mercy, [and] peace from God [the] Father and Christ Jesus the Lord of us.
à Timothée, mon enfant bien-aimé: que la grâce, la miséricorde et la paix te soient données de la part de Dieu le Père et de Jésus-Christ notre Seigneur!
3 Thankful I am to God, whom I serve from [my] forefathers with a pure conscience, as unceasingly I have the of you remembrance in the prayers of mine night and day
Je rends grâces à Dieu, que mes ancêtres ont servi, et que je sers avec une conscience pure, de ce que nuit et jour je me souviens continuellement de toi dans mes prières,
4 longing you to see, having yourself recalled your tears, so that with joy I may be filled
me rappelant tes larmes, et désirant te voir afin d’être rempli de joie,
5 remembrance (having taken *N(k)O*) of the within you sincere faith, which dwelt first in the grandmother of you Lois and in the mother of you Eunice, I have been persuaded now that also [it is] in you.
gardant le souvenir de la foi sincère qui est en toi, qui habita d’abord dans ton aïeule Loïs et dans ta mère Eunice, et qui, j’en suis persuadé, habite aussi en toi.
6 For this reason I remind you to kindle anew the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of the hands of mine;
C’est pourquoi je t’exhorte à ranimer le don de Dieu que tu as reçu par l’imposition de mes mains.
7 Not for has given us God a spirit of cowardice but of power and of love and of self-control.
Car ce n’est pas un esprit de timidité que Dieu nous a donné, mais un esprit de force, d’amour et de sagesse.
8 Not therefore you may be ashamed of the testimony of the Lord of us nor of me myself the prisoner of Him, but do suffer together for the gospel according to [the] power of God
N’aie donc point honte du témoignage à rendre à notre Seigneur, ni de moi son prisonnier. Mais souffre avec moi pour l’Évangile, par la puissance de Dieu
9 the [One who] having saved us and having called [us] with a calling holy, not according to the works of us but according to [His] own purpose and grace which having been given us in Christ Jesus before time eternal, (aiōnios g166)
qui nous a sauvés, et nous a adressé une sainte vocation, non à cause de nos œuvres, mais selon son propre dessein, et selon la grâce qui nous a été donnée en Jésus-Christ avant les temps éternels, (aiōnios g166)
10 having been made manifest also now through the appearing of the Savior of us Christ Jesus, having abolished indeed death, having brought to light however life and immortality through the gospel,
et qui a été manifestée maintenant par l’apparition de notre Sauveur Jésus-Christ, qui a détruit la mort et a mis en évidence la vie et l’immortalité par l’Évangile.
11 to which was appointed I myself a herald and an apostle and a teacher (of gentiles; *KO*)
C’est pour cet Évangile que j’ai été établi prédicateur et apôtre, chargé d’instruire les païens.
12 For this reason also these things I suffer, But not I am ashamed; I know for in whom I have believed and I have been persuaded that able He is the entrusted deposit of mine to guard for that [very] day.
Et c’est à cause de cela que je souffre ces choses; mais j’en ai point honte, car je sais en qui j’ai cru, et je suis persuadé qu’il a la puissance de garder mon dépôt jusqu’à ce jour-là.
13 [The] pattern do retain of sound words which from me you did hear in [the] faith and love that [are] in Christ Jesus;
Retiens dans la foi et dans la charité qui est en Jésus-Christ le modèle des saines paroles que tu as reçues de moi.
14 The good (entrusted deposit *N(k)O*) do keep through [the] Spirit Holy who is dwelling in us.
Garde le bon dépôt, par le Saint-Esprit qui habite en nous.
15 You know this, that turned away from me all those in Asia, among whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes.
Tu sais que tous ceux qui sont en Asie m’ont abandonné, entre autres Phygelle et Hermogène.
16 would grant mercy the Lord to the of Onesiphorus household; because often me he refreshed and the chain of mine not (he was ashamed of, *N(k)O*)
Que le Seigneur répande sa miséricorde sur la maison d’Onésiphore, car il m’a souvent consolé, et il n’a pas eu honte de mes chaînes;
17 But having arrived in Rome (earnestly *N(k)O*) he sought out me and found [me];
au contraire, lorsqu’il est venu à Rome, il m’a cherché avec beaucoup d’empressement, et il m’a trouvé.
18 would grant unto him the Lord to find mercy from [the] Lord in that [very] day! And how much in Ephesus he served very well you yourself know.
Que le Seigneur lui donne d’obtenir miséricorde auprès du Seigneur en ce jour-là. Tu sais mieux que personne combien de services il m’a rendus à Éphèse.
