2 Corinthians 1
1 Paul apostle of Christ Jesus through [the] will of God and Timothy the brother To the church of God which is being in Corinth with the saints all who are being in all Achaia;
Paulus, apostel van Jezus Christus, door den wil van God, en Timotheüs de broeder, aan de gemeente Gods die in Korinthe is, met al de heiligen die in geheel Achaje zijn,
2 Grace to you and peace from God [the] Father of us and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.
genade zij ulieden en vrede van God onzen Vader en van den Heere Jezus Christus!
3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of the Lord of us Jesus Christ, the Father of compassions and God of all comfort,
Geprezen zij de God en Vader van onzen Heere Jezus Christus, de Vader der barmhartigheden en de God aller vertroosting,
4 who is comforting us in all the tribulation of us for to be able us to comfort those in every tribulation through the comfort with which we are comforted ourselves by God;
die ons vertroost in al onze verdrukking, opdat wij zouden kunnen vertroosten degenen die in alle verdrukking zijn, door de vertroosting waarmede wij zelven vertroost worden van God.
5 because even as abound the sufferings of the Christ toward us, thus so through Christ abounds also the comfort of us.
Want gelijk de smarten van Christus over ons overvloedig zijn, zoo ook is door Christus onze vertroosting overvloedig.
6 If however we are constricted, [it is] for your comfort and salvation if we are encouraged, [it is] for your comfort (and salvation *KO) which is operating in [the] endurance of the same sufferings that also we ourselves suffer,
Doch hetzij dat wij verdrukt worden, het is tot uw vertroosting en behoudenis; hetzij dat wij vertroost worden, het is tot uw vertroosting, die werkzaam is in de volharding van dezelfde smarten die ook wij lijden.
7 And the hope of us [is] steadfast for of you; knowing that (as *N+kO) partners you are of the sufferings, so also of the comfort.
En onze hoop is vast op ulieden, wetende dat, gelijk gij deelgenooten zijt van de smarten, gij ook alzoo deelgenooten zijt van de vertroosting.
8 Not for do we want you to be ignorant brothers, (as to *NK+o) the affliction of us having happened (to us *k) in Asia that against excessively beyond [our] power we were weighed so as to despair for us even to live;
Want wij willen niet, broeders, dat gij onkundig zijt van onze verdrukking die ons in Asië overkomen is, zoodat wij overmatig boven onze krachten bezwaard zijn geweest, zoodat wij zelfs wanhoopten aan het leven.
9 But we in ourselves the sentence of death has, in order that not having trusted we may be in ourselves but in God who is raising the dead;
Ja zelfs hadden wij in ons zelven reeds het vonnis des doods, opdat wij niet vertrouwen zouden op ons zelven, maar op dien God die de dooden opwekt;
10 who from such a great a death has delivered us and (will deliver [us] *N+kO) in whom we have hope that also still He will deliver [us]
die ons uit zoodanigen dood verlost heeft en verlost; op wien wij hopen dat Hij ons ook nog verlossen zal.
11 joining together also of you for us by supplication, so that by many persons for the toward us grace bestowed through many thanks may be given for (us. *NK+O)
Ook gijlieden werkt toch mede in het gebed voor ons, opdat voor de gifte door vele personen aan ons toegebracht, voor ons ook door velen dankzegging gebracht worde.
12 For boasting of us this is, the testimony of the conscience of us, that in (openness *NK+O) and sincerity of God, (and *no) not in wisdom fleshly but in [the] grace of God we have conducted ourselves in the world, more abundantly now toward you.
Want onze roem is deze: de getuigenis van onze konsciëntie dat wij in heiligheid en oprechtheid voor God, niet in vleeschelijke wijsheid, maar in de genade Gods, in de wereld verkeerd hebben, en inzonderheid bij ulieden.
13 No for other things we write to you, other than what you read or even understand; I hope now that (and *k) to [the] end you will understand,
Want wij schrijven u geen andere dingen dan die gij leest of ook erkent; doch ik hoop dat gij ze tot den einde toe erkennen zult;
14 even as also you have understood us in part that boasting of you we are, even as also you [are] ours in the day of the Lord (of us *NO) Jesus.
zooals gij ook ten deele ons erkend hebt, dat wij uw roem zijn gelijk gij ook de onze zijt, in den dag van onzen Heere Jezus.
15 And with this confidence I was planning previously to you to come so that secondly (grace *NK+O) (you may have *N+kO)
En in dit vertrouwen wilde ik eerst tot ulieden komen, opdat gij een tweede gunst zoudt ontvangen,
16 and through you to pass through into Macedonia and again from Macedonia to come to you and by you to be set forward to Judea.
en langs u naar Macedonië trekken en wederom van Macedonië tot u komen en door ulieden voortgeholpen worden naar Judea.
17 Thus therefore (deciding *N+kO) surely not ever then levity did I use? Or what I purpose according to flesh do I purpose, so that there may be with me myself Yes yes and No no?
Dit dan willende, heb ik toch niet in lichtvaardigheid gehandeld? Of wat ik wil, dat wil ik toch niet naar het vleesch, opdat bij mij Ja zij Ja, en Neen zij Neen?
18 Faithful however God [is], that the word of us to you not (was *N+kO) Yes and No;
Doch God is getuige dat ons woord tot u niet is Ja en Neen.
19 The of God for Son Jesus Christ the [One] among you through us having been proclaimed through me and Silvanus and Timothy, not was Yes and No, but Yes in Him it has always been;
Want de Zoon van God, Jezus Christus, die onder u door ons gepredikt is, door mij en Silvanus en Timotheüs, was niet Ja en Neen, maar was Ja in Hem.
20 As many as for promises of God [there are], in Him [is] the Yes; (Therefore *NO) also (thorugh Him *N+kO) the Amen to God [is] for glory through us.
Want zoovele beloften Gods als er zijn, in Hem is het Ja; daarom is ook door Hem het Amen, Gode tot glorie door ons.
21 The [One] now establishing us with you unto Christ and having anointed us [is] God,
Maar die ons met ulieden vaststelt in Christus, en die ons gezalfd heeft, is God,
22 the [One] also having sealed us and having given the pledge of the Spirit in the hearts of us.
die ons ook verzegeld heeft en het onderpand des Geestes in onze harten gegeven heeft.
23 I myself however as witness God call upon my soul that sparing you no longer no longer have I come to Corinth;
Maar ik aanroep God tot getuige over mijn leven, dat ik om u te sparen nog niet naar Korinthe ben gekomen.
24 Not for we lord it over your faith, but fellow workers are of the joy with you; in the for faith you have stood firm.
Niet omdat wij heerschappij voeren over uw geloof, maar wij zijn medearbeiders aan uw blijdschap; want door het geloof staat gij vast.
