< 2 Corinthians 2 >

1 I judged (for *N(k)O*) within myself this not again in grief to you to come.
Ka naʻe pau hoku loto ki he meʻa ni, ʻe ʻikai te u toe ʻalu atu kiate kimoutolu ʻi he mamahi.
2 If for I myself grieve you again who (is *k*) the [one] gladdening me except not the [one] being grieved by me?
He kapau ʻoku ou fakamamahiʻi ʻakimoutolu, pea ko hai ia ʻoku ne fakafiefiaʻi au, ka ko ia kuo fakamamahiʻi ʻiate au?
3 And I wrote (to you *k*) this same thing, so that not having come grief (I may have *N(k)O*) from [those] of whom it was necessary me to rejoice having trusted in all you that my joy of all of you is.
Ko ia ne u tohi ai ʻae meʻa ko ia kiate kimoutolu, telia naʻa ʻi heʻeku hoko atu, teu mamahi meiate kinautolu ʻoku totonu ke u fiefia ai; pea ʻoku ou falala kiate kimoutolu kotoa pē, ko ʻeku fiefia ko e fiefia ia ʻo kimoutolu kotoa pē.
4 Out of for much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you through many tears, not that you may be grieved, but the love that you may know that I have more abundantly toward you.
He ne u tohi atu kiate kimoutolu ʻi he mamahi lahi mo e feinga loto mo e loʻimata lahi: ka naʻe ʻikai ke mou mamahi ai, ka koeʻuhi ke mou ʻilo ʻae ʻofa ʻoku ou maʻu ʻo lahi ʻaupito kiate kimoutolu.
5 If however anyone has caused grief, not me myself has he grieved but in part — that not I may burden all you.
Pea kapau kuo fai fakamamahi ʻe ha taha, ʻoku ʻikai teu mamahi au, kae ʻi he niʻihi pe: ke ʻoua naʻaku fakamāfasia ʻakimoutolu kotoa pē.
6 Sufficient to such a one [is] the punishment this which [is] by the majority,
Pea kuo lahi ki he tokotaha ko ia ʻa ʻetau tautea ni, ʻaia naʻe ʻai ʻe he tokolahi.
7 so that on the contrary rather for you to forgive and to comfort [him], lest perhaps by more excessive sorrow may be overwhelmed such a one.
Ko ia ke ʻoua, ka mou fakamolemole muʻa, pea fakafiemālieʻi ia, telia naʻa fōngia hifo ʻae tokotaha ko ia ʻi he mamahi lahi.
8 Therefore I exhort you to confirm toward him love.
Ko ia ʻoku ou kole atu kiate kimoutolu ke mou fakamoʻoni ʻae ʻofa kiate ia.
9 For this indeed also did I write, so that I may know the proof of you, whether to everything obedient you are.
He ko e meʻa ko ia naʻaku tohi ai foki, koeʻuhi ke u ʻilo ai ha fakaʻilonga kiate kimoutolu, pe ʻoku mou talangofua ki he ngaahi meʻa kotoa pē.
10 To whomever now anything you forgive, I also myself; I also myself; and for I myself (to whom *N(k)O*) I have forgiven, if anything I have forgiven, [it is] for you in [the] presence of Christ,
Ko ia ʻoku mou fakamolemole ha meʻa ki ai, ʻoku ou [fakamolemolea ]foki: pea ko ia kuo u fakamolemolea, ʻo kapau ne u fakamolemolea ha meʻa, [naʻaku fai ]ia koeʻuhi ko kimoutolu ʻi he ʻao ʻo Kalaisi;
11 so that not we may be outwitted by Satan; not for of his schemes we are ignorant.
Telia naʻa kākaaʻi ʻakitautolu ʻe Sētane: he ʻoku ʻikai te tau vale ki heʻene ngaahi filioʻi.
12 Having come now to Troas for the gospel of Christ also a door to me having been opened in [the] Lord,
Ka ʻi heʻeku hoko atu ki Taloasi, ke malangaʻaki ʻae ongoongolelei ʻo Kalaisi, pea fakaava ʻe he ʻEiki ʻae matapā kiate au,
13 not I have had rest in the spirit of mine in the not finding my Titus the brother of mine, instead having taken leave of them I went out to Macedonia.
Naʻe ʻikai ha fiemālie ʻi hoku loto, koeʻuhi naʻe ʻikai teu feʻiloaki mo hoku tokoua ko Taitusi: pea hili ʻemau māvae mo kinautolu, peau ʻalu mei ai ki Masitōnia.
14 However to God [be] thanks to the [One] always leading in triumph us in Christ and the fragrance of the knowledge of Him making manifest through us in every place,
Pea ko eni, fakafetaʻi ki he ʻOtua, ʻaia ʻoku ne foaki ke mau faʻa ikuna ʻia Kalaisi, pea ʻoku ne fofola atu ʻae ngangatu ʻo ʻene ʻilo ʻiate kimautolu ʻi he potu kotoa pē.
15 For of Christ a sweet perfume we are to God in those being saved and in those perishing,
He ko e ngangatu lelei ʻo Kalaisi ʻakimautolu ki he ʻOtua, ʻiate kinautolu kuo fakamoʻui, pea ʻiate kinautolu ʻoku fakaʻauha:
16 to one indeed an odor (from *no*) death to death, to one however a fragrance (from *no*) life to life. And for these things who [is] sufficient?
Ko e nanamu ʻoe mate ki he mate ki he niʻihi; pea ki he niʻihi ko e nanamu ʻoe moʻui ki he moʻui. Pea ko hai ʻoku taau mo e ngaahi meʻa ni?
17 Not for we are like the (many *NK(O)*) peddling the word of God, but as of sincerity, but as of God, (before *N(k)O*) (*k*) God in Christ we speak.
He ʻoku ʻikai te mau hangē ko e tokolahi, ʻoku fai kākā ʻaki ʻae folofola ʻae ʻOtua: ka ʻi he moʻoni, ka ʻi he ʻOtua, pea ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ʻOtua, ʻoku mau lea kia Kalaisi.
