1 Thessalonians 3

1 Therefore no longer enduring we thought it best to be left behind in Athens alone

Zato, ker več ne strpimo, sklenili smo raji sami ostati v Atenah,

2 and we sent Timothy the brother of us and (servant *KO) (and *K) fellow worker (of us *K) of God in the gospel of Christ in order to strengthen you and to encourage (you *k) (concerning *N+kO) the faith of you,

In poslali smo Timoteja, brata našega in služabnika Božjega in sodelalca našega v evangelji Kristusovem, utrdit vas in opominjat vas o veri vaši;

3 no one [is] to be moved by tribulations these; Yourselves for you know that for this we are destined;

Da nihče ne omahuje v teh stiskah; sami namreč veste, da smo namenjeni za to.

4 And indeed when with you we were, we were telling beforehand you that we are about to suffer affliction even as also it came to pass and you know;

Saj smo tudi, ko smo bili pri vas, naprej povedali vam, da pridemo v stiske, kakor se je tudi zgodilo in veste.

5 Because of this I myself also I myself also no longer enduring I sent in order to know the faith of you, lest perhaps tempted you the [one] tempting and in vain may be the labor of us.

Zato sem tudi jaz, ker nisem mogel več strpeti, poslal pozvedet za vero vašo, da bi vas ne bil morda izkušal izkušnjavec, in bi bil zastonj naš trud.

6 Presently however when was coming Timothy to us from you and having evangelised to us of the faith and the love of you and that you have a remembrance of us good always longing us to see just as also we ourselves you,

Ko je pa ravnokar Timotej k nam prišel od vas, in prinesel nam blago vest o veri in ljubezni vaši, in da nas imate vedno v dobrem spominu, hrepeneč videti nas, kakor tudi mi vas;

7 because of this we were encouraged, brothers, as to you in all the distress and tribulation of us through your faith;

Zato smo bili, bratje, za vas potolaženi v vsej stiski in sili svoji po veri vaši;

8 For now we live, if you yourselves (are standing firm *N+kO) in [the] Lord.

Ker zdaj živimo, če vi stojite trdno v Gospodu.

9 What for thanksgiving are we able to God to give concerning you in return for all the joy that we rejoice because of you before the God of us,

Kajti káko zahvalo moremo Bogu vrniti za vas, za vse veselje, s katerim se radujemo za vas pred Bogom svojim,

10 by night and day super overexcessively super overexcessively super overexcessively imploring for [us] to see your face and to supply the [things] lacking in the faith of you?

Noč in dan presilno proseč, da bi videli obličje vaše in dopolnili pogreške vere vaše.

11 Himself now the God and Father of us and the Lord of us Jesus (Christ *K) would direct the way of us to you;

On pa Bog in oče naš, in Gospod naš Jezus Kristus naj vodi pot našo k vam;

12 You now the Lord would make to increase and He would abound in love toward one another and toward all just as also we ourselves toward you

Vas pa naj Gospod napolni in obogati z ljubeznijo med seboj in do vseh, kakor smo tudi mi do vas;

13 in order to strengthen your hearts blameless in holiness before the God and Father of us at the coming of the Lord of us Jesus (Christ *K) with all the saints of Him (Amen. *N)

Da utrdi srca vaša brez madeža v svetosti pred Bogom in očetom našim, o prihodu Gospoda našega Jezusa Kristusa z vsemi njegovimi svetimi.
